Fabulous lunch as always. Great menu choice and really fresh salad too. Hubby had a meal which enabled him to have mashed potato. Excellent as he was able to enjoy all of his food. I had a beautiful steak with all the trimmings, cooked per. Great food and drinks. Well done Alan Wendy.👍👍👍👏👏👏

I went to the New Inn for my friends mother Monica's 95th birthday and we were looked after really well. The food was good and staff were nice. Nothing was too much trouble and access was easy for a disabled person with a nice shallow angled ramp leading up to the door and the toilet is on the ground floor with no steps which was also good news. We all enjoyed our food and servings were generous. Monica thought that the Knightwick Sausages and mash was tremendous and to our surpise eat all three large sausages. We will certainly make a return visit to enjoy another evening at the New Inn.

Amazing food at very affordable prices. Friendly and welcoming and a great menu to choose from. My husband had the sausages whilst I had the gammon. I will never buy a horseshoe gammon again as todays gammon was exceptional, tasty and succulent 😋😋. Too full for a pudding each so had to share the indulgent chocolate fudge cake. If only we lived closer.

We were staying nearby and walked down here at tea time one evening. Wow...what a find. Wendy couldn`t have made us feel anymore welcome as well as the other bar staff and several locals at the bar. We had a fabulous meal, breaded mushrooms, prawn cocktail, steak and kidney pie and ham egg and chips. I can honestly say it was one of the best pub meals we have had. You will not leave there hungry!! The quality of the food was excellent and the chips are first class. We were so impressed we went back two nights later for another meal. Mozzarella sticks, steak and kidney pie and sirloin steak....just perfect. The steak and kidney pie is worth every penny and if we are ever in this area again, we will make a bee line for The New Inn. Thanks to Wendy and her team. If you are looking for a pub meal in this area then The New Inn is a must.

We arrived at the New Inn after a very long (about 19 miles) walk.My friend asked for an apple juice topped up with soda - we were told there was no apple juice, so we asked what other fruit juices there were - after a protracted search we were told only orange.Another friend had wanted a tomato juice but this was also not available. I asked for a dry white wine - the waitress had no idea which wines were dry, and didn't even attempt to say which grape varieties were available.I ended up with a chardonnay and it was luke warm - despite coming from the cooler cabinet. The food was mediocore to say the least, but as we were on foot we had no choice. Having visited this pub again on a number of occasions over the summer, I just hope the owners recognise the value of Dave and Shelagh, the managers, and that any new lease proposal can be agreed mutually. As the best pub in the area, it would be a shame for it to go downhill. The only thing it needs is a bit of tarmac in the car-park! The owners might want to consider paying for this.

Took our son and wife here for anniversary dinner. Just what I would like from a local, wanted to dig it up and move it to the end of our road! Large public bar area with pool table, dart board, open log fire and friendly chatty customers and staff and a separate eating area. Basic pub menu with reasonable prices. Starters and steaks were good. Interesting comment from the owner on previous post that dogs are not allowed in the eating area as we were regularly inspected by a slightly chubby golden retriever, presumably the pub dog, checking for scraps. Didn't bother us as we are all doggy folk. Will return.

Well what can I say - the food here is just superb - I don't say that very often about places but the home made steak and kidney pie is the best I have ever tasted!! We've just returned from what I can only describe as an epic Sunday roast. Following a pleasant drive from Worcester to The New Inn (around 20 minutes) we were greeted first by the wonderful view from this pub's bar, on top of a hill overlooking rural Worcestershire. My partner and I were welcomed by a very polite and informative young lady with whom we discussed the only way to eat Beef - Rare!We weren't disappointed either. I had a vegetable soup to start which was accompanied by fresh crusty bread and butter, was definitely home made and delicious. We then ordered from the choice of Chicken or Beef - Beef, naturally! With all this in mind and considering we were in a pub not a restaurant, we were both open minded about what we might be just about to eat. What occured next was simply staggering. Perfectly pink and succulent beef which literally melted in the mouth and was better than the sirloin I'd eaten the night before at home. Yorkshire puddings as I'm sure you'll know can go one of to ways - soggy or dry - these were neither, just perfectly golden and crispy, accompanied by sweet roasted parsnips. We awaited the vegetables and were greeted with Swede, Cabbage, Broccoli, Carrots and Cauliflower, enough for 3 - 4 people and shared between two of us. The vegetables were all cooked perfectly and everything was piping hot. Just as we were settling down to eat, out came the gorgeous gravy with meaty bits, cheese sauce which added a welcome twist to the broccoli and cauliflower; a nice touch indeed. We'd forgotten the Dauphinoise potatoes we'd chosen, which were included in the price and when they came out I can honestly say that too could have been a meal on it's own and tasted absolutely divine. My partner and I didn't leave a single morsel of it in the dish. Even the horseradish is worthy of a mention, something rare nowadays with a nice little zing and perfect with the rare and succulent beef. With all this food on board, we couldn't manage dessert but in the true spirit of a fair and well rounded review, we took a couple of portions home. I later returned from gardening duty to find a snoring partner, an empty bowl and a Siamese cat licking the bowl. The cat definitely looked satisfied too! My desert, a toffee fudge cheesecake, will be devoured shortly. Incidentally, on the subject of takeaways, it was duly pointed out by the helpful young lady behind the bar that they were more than happy to offer takeaway on most of their menu, another nice touch. We drove past the Pitlands Farm B&B with it's glorious lake and buildings - I'd imagine this place coupled with the New Inn up the road would make for a nice talking break for town dwellers, although I don't walk myself. We spotted a pool table, there was plenty of parking available and all in all, this pub has everything you could possibly want. We didn't notice the decor, which must've meant it was more than acceptable, despite other reviewers. The pub dog, Jazz was present and walking around but never once bothered any of the guests who were eating, which was also nice.Considering I came here from a recommendation in my local pub, where we often debate where in Worcestershire you can go for a proper steak and my pal raved about the char grilled rib eye, I know we'll definitely be returning for one of those! Finally, for one starter, two enormous and perfectly cooked main courses, two desserts to go and 3 large glasses of wine, plus a Coke - £40. Need I say any more?A truly excellent job guys, which warranted a detailed review. You nailed the beef roast in a major way! See you soon for a Steak! :-)

As our visitor, Canadian Mike pointed out: "Had a great couple of evenings at the New Inn at Clifton. Tucked away on a narrow road that you wouldn’t think would lead to a pub, the place is cheerful and spacious. Dave and Shelagh’s humour and energy make for enjoyable conversation. If you’re a fan of Guinness, there’s extra incentive to come; Dave’s boasts his Guinness being the best in the country, and I haven’t found anywhere else with a better claim to the title. The meals were good and hearty too. Overall, a bright, friendly pub more than worth a visit." I should add that Shelagh sorted me out with a lift down the hill, after having too many pints of Guinness to traverse the distance (in pitch-black darkness) without potentially flying head-first over a stile or two. It's also a good place to find out about hiking trips in the area. I picked up a leaflet outlining Martley's circular walk - great for a 3 hr hop around a stunning area.

Located near the halfway mark of the Worcestershire Way. We were stopping overnight at Pitlands Farm, and this pub came highly recommended, We were not disappointed, as the food, beer and service were all exceptional. Can't think of a better way to spend an evening after a hard days walking. Many Thanks

Very friendly and helpful staff. As a family of four we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, including puddings! Prices are all very reasonable and we would definitely visit again.

Popped in here on our lengthy walk and were warmly welcomed by the two dogs and a boot rack so we left our muddy boots on the rack and wandered into the pub- a large open-plan place but with an open fire and several tables. The décor is not very inspiring, nor is it a very traditional pub on the inside- but it is welcoming, clean and very friendly. Food was served promptly and with a smile and they were very attentive. A large group of walkers came in whilst we were there, having parked their cars before their walk in the large car park, so it seems a popular place.

An old friend and I came in here for a traditional British Sunday Roast - it doesn't get much better. The welcome, food and service were excellent, and at a very reasonable price.

No frills just good home cooked food at a very affordable price. Decor a little dated but you are not paying top prices. Everyone so polite and helpful I am really surprised that it wasn't busier Clearly a family run business that deserves more support. We will return thank you.

Just returned from a nice meal at The New Inn, which sits overlooking the lovely Teme valley a few miles outside of Worcester. The pub/restaurant is nicely laid out, was very welcoming when we arrived, and the burger I had followed by Rhubarb crumble was delicious. The landlord told us that the pub was on the Worcester way, a popular walking route which we plan to return and do in future.

You can always tell a good pub by the welcome you get, especially from the Landlord - and The New Inn (off the beaten track a bit) is well worth dropping in, especially for an evening meal. There's a good choice - but suggest you make sure you have a booking first - and whilst it's central and standard fare, it's great and doesn't swan about pretending to be what it isn't. What it is - is a good rural pub that can turn up a good meal.

Beautiful location with stunning views over the Teme Valley. The food is always good, and you would have to go a long way to get a better Sunday lunch, it is always first class, with lots of nice touches you don`t get anywhere else. All the sweets are homemade. Food and service excellent.

A fabulous country pub. Great atmosphere and the most welcoming of landlord and landlady The beer is superbly kept and the pub grub is first class. Nothing fancy but good old fashioned quality food. The steaks are especially good but to be honest there is not a duff item on the menu. Very good value for money If it's sunny you can sit outside and enjoy the fabulous view too. Highly recommended

I wanted to find a pub locally for Sunday Lunch so we booked the New Inn.We were very pleased with the meal it was really excellent and very reasonably priced. The young lady that served us was charming. We did not know what to expect on a cold Sunday in March but we thought the food was really good. We finished with a homemade pudding. All in all we shall be going back. 2 course £10.95 was really good value and the beef was lovely and all home cooked. Well done. You have to book as they only cook fresh. We booked on the Sunday morning which was fine.

OMG! What a pie. The New Inn served up the best Steak and Stilton pie I have ever had. I have to go so far as to say it's in my top ten food worship moments ever. Then I was fortunate enough to go back the following day for their very good Sunday Roast. Feel very lucky to have dined here and would recommend it to anyone!

The New Inn has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere and is a true 'locals' pub. They cook a great steak and its great value. We were disappointed that the starters all seem to be straight from the freezer and into the fryer. This may have changed by now. The main courses are all much more home made. We didn't have puddingThe New Inn also holds a the best mower race in the area! Its well worth a visit.

Staff are extremely friendly and always up for a great laugh. Portion sizes are very large, great value for money. Wide range of drinks to suit either a quiet night out or even a messy one. Amazing atmosphere all around be it in the restaurant or the bar. I discovered this little gem on accident, it was a very happy accident and I will be returning without a doubt. Thanks Garry and team

Four of us had a light lunch here yesterday. We had hoped to sit outside by the lake but it was cold so we were in the bistro which is lovely. We all ordered sandwiches which were delicious and presented beautifully with a small selection of dressed salad leaves . We all had banana sponge pudding with toffee sauce and ice cream - a bit like sticky toffee pudding but even better. The staff were immaculately turned out, and genuinely welcoming and helpful. This is such a lovely place and we will definitely be back before long.
