The New Inn in Leeds

Just had lunch here and i must say the staff were excellent . The Food was very good & great price too. Great place to pop in for good meal

We saw that the New Inn was doing a special evening - £5 per starter, £10 per main and £5 for dessert. £20 for a 3 course sit down meal - sounds a bargain doesn’t it? Well, it was, and then some. This was top restaurant standard food for a bargain price. We had the chicken liver pate and sardine with ragout starters. Delightful. Sardines cooked perfectly with a lovely zingy fresh tomato sauce - delicious! The pate was served with a salad and crouton side accompanied by a delicious sweet red onion chutney. Outrageously good. We both had the same mains - perfectly cooked smoked haddock on a bed of crushed potatoes in a mustardy sauce. Amazeballs. I had the cheesecake desert - lovely stuff. All in all this meal cost us £35. It’s ridiculous. We had a wine and tipped so it was over that but goodness this was restaurant quality food for a really good price. They don’t always do these offers but jump on it time you can. In anycase, go anyway - it’s great food at a very reasonable price. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Tapas night with friends. Had a great evening in this gem of a country pub. Enjoyed some top Tapas including melt in the mouth Iberico ham and Porcini crochets, fish Paella and ice cold beer. The New Inn is consistently good for a warm welcome and really top quality food that comes from a real chef not a microwave.

We visited as a family of four with two kids. The menu wasn't child-friendly at all. They offered smaller portions of large meals, but these weren't the usual options that kids would eat. This was surprising for a place with a kids' playground. They had a sandwich menu, so I asked if one sandwich would be big enough for two kids to share. The waitress showed me with her hands how big the rolls were, and they seemed small. We ordered two, but they ended up being huge. Great for an adult, but I wish they'd been honest about the size. At least we could box them up to take home. While being served, the wind blew the wooden table menu over, knocking a full pint of beer all over me and my bag. The waitress asked if I wanted another drink and ran inside to get one. She then came back with the bill for the new pint. I questioned this, as it clearly wasn't our fault. The waitress went back inside to check, and when she returned, she said it was a 'tied jury,' and we had to pay for the pint. From other reviews, it seems customer service is definitely lacking here. It was also pretty empty, which was odd for a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon. I expected it to be much busier, but maybe the poor customer service is keeping people away.

Due to the hotel I was staying in not serving food on Saturday night we went here very friendly staff excellent meal good value enjoyed so much went back for Sunday lunch again was not disappointed large portions well cooked if ever in the area would definitely visit again

Brilliant Roast chicken, well half a whole chicken to be more accurate! It's gotta be fresh from farm as taste was exceptional and so moist. Everything cooked to perfection. Hubby had wild mushrooms and truffle pasta, no skimping on parmesam here! Staff and owner really friendly with excellent service. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

We have enjoyed Sunday lunch a few times, this was a planned visit for a spot of midweek lunch and a natter. Drinks served, menu perused and already a division. 2 of us had starters, two passed. I chose the Thai Mussels and Mrs G chose the Crab. My word…. A bucket of mussels arrived and a whole crab !!!! Several mussels were shared around, as was the crab. Mains - 1 Gloucester Old Spot Chop 1 Hake 1 Marsala Chicken The other was still attacking the crab !!! Service and drinks most excellent, paused, passed on pudding and had a very tasty coffee - no Madelines…. Boo 🤣 A pleasant 2 hours of enjoyable food and nattering.

Shambles of a fireworks night. Parking was a joke. Over sold tickets and didn’t have capacity for good or parking at venue. Disappointed with the display considering how many tickets were sold.

Fantastic! Staff lovely and helpful. Food wise, I had mushroom and cauliflower pie with all the trimmings. Not too rich. Perfect. Roast potatoes nice and crispy. Highly recommend the cheese cake. Willing to add extras too if required.

The food was good, especially the roast potatoes. Lots of meat and everything was hot. Staff were lovely. It was off-putting however to watch the chef using his bare hands to arrange food on the plates - meat, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding etc. Then wiping his hands on a tea cloth which he wiped surfaces down with too.

Been to this lovely little pub a couple of times now stopped for a bit of lunch food very nice again, staff really friendly would definitely recommend.

Went here after the emmerdale tour, I had lambs liver mash and gravy. It tasted absolutely fabulous 👌. My partner had the cheese and spring onion sandwich and a side of chips. She said it was nice. Highly recommended stopping off for some snack and a drink before your next location.

It was the meeting point for our trip to the Emmerdale village tour. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews, but I pre booked the table with plenty of time before we needed to leave. The meal was one of the best Sunday lunches I have had in ages. Not fair to moan if you turn up when you know it will be busy and you can't get a table.

It was our first time at the New Inn, as we booked the Emmerdale Village Tour, so decided to have lunch here first. Three of us chose a Sunday roast, 0ne pork and two beef. One chose Haddock. The roasts were lovely, generous portions, and the beef and pork were so tasty and tender. The haddock looked so good and our friend said it was the best he’s had. Great service too! I went to the New Inn with my wife after she’d been to the Emmerdale set. We ordered a couple of drinks, the carpet around the fire place was covered in cobwebs, I know it’s a country pub but there is no need for dirty floors. The gents toilet was in a bad way, bits broken and in need of a full refit. And then on entering the gents, I met the chef coming out of the cubicle and walked straight out into the bar area and didn’t wash his hands!!!!

Booked for lunch, was told to allow two and a half hours if going on the Emmerdale tour. Tour was at 15:00 so told to book lunch for 12:30, All finished 2 course meal by 13:10. 24:50 each for two course meal, waste of money the Broccoli was that tough it offered me out! Gravy was little more than coloured liquid. My advice would be to take a picnic! 2 courses and 2 soft drinks £60. Then they have the nerve to include a service charge! Warning don’t waste you money.

After the emmerdale tour, went for lunch. Staff were trying, but what seemed to be the manageress was just a headless bully. Food order came wrong, as did the table next to ours and had to be returned, but the worst thing was the floor....
