The New Inn in Epping Forest

Lots of people having meals on a Thursday evening, & a wide choice of ales, lagers & ciders for the drinkers.

Visited the pub on Saturday. There was a private party in the beer garden. A band was set up in the garden as well. The pub was really nice, good choice of beers. Children and dog friendly. Staff were great. Apparently, they do nice food here, although I didn't have any. There was a BBQ run by the pub for the guests. A thoroughly good night was had by all. It's worth a visit.

Nice. But it has one of these miserable "enter your car number" parking contraptions; it's free parking, but make sure you enter your car details at the bar!

Food overpriced greasy junk. Waitress very friendly, attentive and good service. £16 for a few fried fishy balls greasy chips and salad is a joke. AVOID My friends chicken wrap was horrid and we both fell ill afterwards. Hoummus and pitta tasted of lamb fat.. very weird. AVOID

Went on Sunday teatime, there were no vegetarian meals left,and thd staff mber who told us 1st one wasn't available didn't think to tell us 2nd wasnt either! Clean but run down, we didn't stay in the end as no food I wanted

Went there for my husbands birthday as he's sister sheila lives in Harlow all my boys and partners ,grandchildren too surprised him.what a lovely day we had, lovely pub perfect food staff was first class so helpful prices were good too we were very pleased ,nice surroundings took plenty of pics.would return deffo again ..Great place .thank you

Plenty of free parking. Welcoming friendly staff. Great choice of food. A lovely place to celebrate Mothering Sunday. Turkey Roast was hot and delicious. It was good to meet the chef and his family. We booked the back room for a gathering on a Sunday last year (after having got married in the local area the day before!) and everyone at the pub was so helpful and friendly. We prebooked some finger food which was all great, and food from the main menu was brilliant too. The beer garden is ace and the beers are delish.

Fab pub. Lovely atmosphere. Big car park but make sure you enter your number plate inside the pub.

Great place for pub meal and quiet drink in the picturesque village of Roydon. Train station 7 min walk away with direct links to London Liverpool street and Cambridge North.

Cute little bar. We had few beers after a kids party. Then we had a Cosy dinner in the front bar. Beers were great, locals and usual beers so plenty of choice. THe dinner was amazing. I had liver and bacon with vegs. OMG the liver was perfect so tasty and big portions. Six of us everyone was very happy.

We can't thank Mary and her staff enough! For our wedding we were staying at the Roydon Marina Village, with our wedding venue being The Barns at Lodge Farm. The Roydon Marina Village is a 10min walk from The New Inn pub. So we decided to hold a pre-wedding meal for our Bridal Party at the New Inn (approx 35 people), and a wedding party the day after the wedding (approx 60 people) at the pub too. Mary was an absolute star throughout. We pre-ordered the food for the night before so everything ran smoothly, and we held an Irish themed day for the party after the wedding in the pub garden, including an Irish band. The pub garden is huge, with lovely lighting and a small park at the back for kids to play in. It was a perfect setting for our parties. Mary was so helpful throughout and nothing was too much to ask. They also put on a buffet for the party and we had access to a private room for guests to put their bags and coats in, free of charge. Everything was perfect, we all had a great time. Thanks again Mary, we'll be back to see you all again, Abi & Cara xx

Very friendly pub. I met up with a friend for lunch. The pub was spotless and staff very helpful and happy (always good to be met by smiles rather than solemn faces). Food was well presented and good portion size. I would definitely go back again.

4 of us had lunch here today. Lunch was really good and sitting in the sunshine in the garden was fantastic. This is our 4th lunch visit and not our last.

Been here a few times. A cosy little spot with friendly staff. Free car parking on site. Good atmosphere and setting. I always know I will have an enjoyable time so will surly come again.

I was looking for a nice place to eat in Roydon on a Sunday lunchtime, and had been told my options were limited, and that The New Inn might be the best bet. Well, I checked the reviews here and the pictures and the food looked very basic, which wasn't appealing. But, as my friend said, the choices were limited. So we decided to go for the Sunday roast beef and drown any disappointment with a bottle of the house's finest red wine. Their finest red wine turned out to be their only red wine. But it was quaffable enough. And the roast dinner? Surprisingly good, well cooked and tasty, and the staff did everything they could to make our meal a very pleasant one. Which it turned out to be. I really enjoyed this meal, the pub is cosy and very much a local country pub with many regular returning customers. And I'm not surprised at that now. It's well worth a return visit.

Was at an outdoor event so only used the bar to get a drink.... The inn supplied the food which was good basic finger food ... Tasty 👍weather chilly so a brazier here and there would have been welcome 😊

Staying at Roydon Marina, this pub is a short walk away. Seating inside and out. Masks not compulsory. Friendly service. Tasty food. Would recommend

The place could be lovely, the garden is wonderful especially if you have children. They can go and have fun. The only issue is the owner. She simply cant be bothered and that shows, the service is slow, and it feels you are bothering when ordering something. What a shame, it could be such a great pub.

Best pub in Roydon, with a few well kept real ales. The beer garden is massive and well manicured. Handy for excellent walking or cycling in the Lea Valley and the country lanes of Essex / Herts borders.

Lovely friendly pub. Very accommodating during the Covid social distancing regulations. Dog friendly outside, not sure about in doors. The garden is gorgeous, lovely and rural.
