Cash only… quite selfish. Such a nice location and very focused on their quick cash flow.

Unable to comment on food etc. Just met others there before moving on to other places. A lot of motorcyclists meet and have food there, so must be good.

It’s ok. Great place for bikers but service is slow and not really polite. No card payments either like it’s 2010

Great double sausage roll salt and pepper

For nearly 30 years this place has been serving the best bacon rolls and cups of tea. I can explain how good it is or how special it is. Just try it and tell me I'm right!

They are always open and serve a wonderful selection of all types of roll, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches and good tea and coffee 🤤

No real vegetarian food available

Nice spot but cash only I know everyone likes to minimise their tax bill but who even carries cash these days? A shame since it’s a lovely location and I’d rather have given them my money than the pub I went to nearby instead. Five stars if you happen to have legacy money in your pocket though.

Lovely little place, well visited too and the staff serving were helpful and cheery. The cups of tea are more like small buckets too! Only knocked a star off due to the short bald chap that turned up, who I assume has something to do with the business and seemed to have some sort of issue that I had stood off to one side of the hut and had a bicycle rested against the wall of the container. I didn't quite get to the bottom of what his issue was as he marched off when I queried but did take the shine off to be quite honest. Otherwise though, great range of food and drink, great location!

It looks like an old shipping container repurposed as a tea hut and sandwich place. Simple, inexpensive food, reasonable prices, convenient location next to a car park. Good spot for pre/post walk cuppa and a bacon/sausage sandwich.

Cash only in 2024 doesn’t work. I see in other reviews their owner claim it is because there is no phone reception here. I am standing at the Original Tea Hut posting this review now so we will see if they are telling the truth. Seems like fast internet here to me.

We have been going here for a while now and we have experienced nothing but lovely friendly staff and the food they make is great, all ways massive portions and great hotchocolates! 😁

At the edge of Epping Forest it's just an open air café no frills - like a greasy-spoon transport cafe. Very popular with bikers - minimal cover if it rains and can be muddy/messy underfoot. Cash only no cards.

Well what can I say first time here nice stop off in the sun. But had a sausages in a roll the French stick was stale and sausages wasn't that nice.. so 5.50 straight in the bin and the owner wasn't very nice either had a shouting match with my mate because he removed the what we thought was broken parasole so we could see each other across the table. So spoilt the whole day really won't be going back there I've felt ill all day.

Nice little spot on your way through the forest and good prices. Motorbike friendly too which is great.

Good outside area for a decent cuppa and a really great bacon roll. They don't skimp on the quality or quantity. If you're into motorbikes .....even better.

Great tea or lunch destination in Epping Forest. Lots of bench seating. Staff is friendly. Food is ok. I recommend the tea! Wonderful atmosphere on a sunny day. Motorcyclists tend to congregate here and it's easy to see why.

I've been coming to the bikers tea hut for years with my dogs. It is incredibly welcoming and dog friendly. You can't beat a beautiful walk through the forest and then getting a sausage butty and a cuppa at the tea hut; definitely an Epping Forest institution. Don't forget to bring cash. If you have a nervous or anxious dog, be aware that there are plenty of loud motorbikes.

Popped here to have a coffee. The cafe is nestled in Epping forest. The menu looked good and was reasonably busy when I arrived. The thing that stopped me having anything was it's cash only.

Top spot for motorcyclists, just off the Robin Hood roundabout in Epping Forest. Good hot and cold food and drink served by friendly staff. Tables, chairs, and handy large umbrellas are available for customers. Parking is paid

We love stopping here on our bike rides, usually just for a cold drink. But the service from the man today was rude/abrupt, verging on hostile.

I had a delicious salt beef sandwich and a coffee and it reminded me of my youth when me and my brother used to visit high beech.

Always find someone to chat too! Food and drinks are really good value. It is cash only and no toilets. But all in all a great place for a pitstop

You can't beat a steaming hot tea, and perhaps a snack, after walking in the forest any time of the year.

Perfect start / end point for a forest stroll. Excellent bacon sarnies, salt beef bagels and proper tea. Friendly biker crowd always happy to show off their wheels

Historic iconic cafe in Epping Forest. Cyclists, motorcyclists and walkers come from miles to eat and drink here. Older people have started to bring their own chairs as it gets very busy at peak times.

Doesn't take card. The sort of thing that I do not understand how is still allowed. Also the sort of thing that is very inconvenient while out for a walk, thirsty and in need of water. Not cool at all.

It could do with a card facility to pay for, but otherwise it's always a great atmosphere and a great meetup point.

Very professional organization. Food and service are exceptional. Friendly staff and management actually care about their customers. All this in a forest environment plus some top of the range motorcycles visiting. What more could you want?

Fantastic place. Historic motorcycle meeting place all year round. If you are lucky you might get some classic machines turn up. Definitely worth a visit even for just a brew. They only take cash no cards . There are no toilets, so if need be, you have to go and water the trees.

Original tea is a fantastic place for motorbikers and cyclists. Friendly atmosphere with lots to see. Nice surroundings with plenty to eat and drink.

This place is great for meeting other bikers and the food is nice, but there are only half a dozen tables with a sun/rain shade, no facilities and it's cash only. It's still a hut in a gravel car park.

My 1st ride out to epping forest there's staff there amazing great customer service food was on point 100% l will be back on Sunday would recommend it to family and friends

Cash only! If you ride, this place is a classic, must visit in London. If you don't, and you're not walking by, it's a pretty good shack in the woods without toilets... So don't make a special trip of it. Cheap prices, basic food - as it should be!

Awesome place. Just discovered they do Salt Beef Bagels. Alway a great place to headstone when on a forest walk. If you go regular you'll have a lot of bikes to view to.

This tea hut has been there since the dawn of time serving the biking community, cyclists and walkers out for a stroll in the beautiful Epping Forest. Service is quick and they offer a basic range of food and drinks. Our group visited on a Saturday late morning and there were about 30 bikers there, a few mountain bikers and several walkers. The place was well kept, bins provided and water for dogs.

Lovely friendly place, selling (large portions) of tasty food at very reasonable prices. Great friendly atmosphere and some good roads. Please note two things: 1) it is CASH ONLY, 2) Parking is on gravel (not a worry for cars, but for motorcycles it is an issue if you're nervous on gravel)

After many years with the mother in law and daughter going on about this place I finally managed to visit. Lovely sunny day for a walk to the hut; no bike meet on my visit but also means no long queues. Tea was a bit ropey according to the missus but the sausage and onion sandwich and the burger were both excellent. For a tin shack in the middle of a forest I thought it was excellent. The owner (who had received some negative reviews) was polite and appreciative of the thumbs up after I finished my burger.

Only downside is we need a toilet by the tea hut

What can I say ? This place is legendary in the world of Biker cafe's. It's been going since the 1930's. Plenty of food and drink available seven days a week in the middle of the lovely Epping forest. Come down and let Brad and his crew serve you . Aussie Mick.

UPDATE : RECEIVED A £70 FINE 4 WEEKS AGO ON A SATURDAY AT 13:30 FOR STOPPING BRIEFLY ON THE EXIT JUNCTION WAITING FOR CARS TO PASS, ONLY TO GET A PARKING TICKET AT THE JUNCTION, ISSUED IN ONE SECOND FLAT BY A PASSING CCTV CAR! 😡🤔 Screw that Brad! I for one will be going elsewhere for my munchies and socialising! They're like vultures circling around a dying animal. 📸 PARKING AT HIGH BEACH HAS BEEN TURNED INTO A CASH-COW for Epping council just because they lost money fighting the initial red line public partition! 🔚 A DEAL BREAKER FOR UNSUSPECTING VISITORS WHO CAN'T AFFORD TO GET £70 FINES EVERY WEEKEND AT THE TEA HUT! 😡
