Lovely little pub. Just how they was years ago and how they should be. Food was nice also. :-)

Popped in for a couple of beers with some friends, and as usual, the staff were really friendly, and the price of the beer was really reasonable.

One of the best places we have eaten on our trip along the coast. The food is absolutely delicious and they have fresh fish every day. We ate here multiple times and were never disappointed once. It is often busy so try and reserve in advance.

The staff and food cannot be faulted, so friendly and welcoming, however, the rudeness of a group of local customers towards us as tourists prevented us from a second visit which is sad.

Nice pint of Tribute but bit pricey at £5 a pint.. Plenty of locals in bar. Staff friendly. Appears well run pub.

Weird night out on my own to watch the football. Great barman, locals lovely, but slightly spoilt by the landlady from Birmingham complaining about me buying drinks for the locals, so I could talk to some people. Couldn't work out why she was so annoyed. Go, buy some drinks for strangers and see how she reacts! #randomactofkindness

My local, food amazing, sunday roast is very popular, you are recommended to book for that. Always service with a smile. The atmosphere is always good as it's full of locals. Everyone is made welcome. I go to play Bingo every other week on a Thursday and there are other events. Just check the website for details.

Great food great prices and super portions really had a struggle to finish my gammon egg and chips today

What a find! Service, drinks and food were second to none (I had the steak and chips and it was cooked to perfection, and the juicy IPA on tap was also very good!). Will definitely be coming back!

Cosy pub with multiple areas to eat. Dogs allowed in certain areas. Good choice of full meals and lighter bar meals. Plenty of parking and outdoor eating available on warmer weather. Beer choices good and friendly staff.

A very good chips and fish will call again next time in Cornwall

As a local, I'm lucky enough to have this pub on my doorstep. I eat here regularly. There's a great choice of food on the menu, with a range of prices to suit everyone. I recommend that you reserve a table, as they can get busy at peak times.

Fab staff great food good price very friendly atmosphere

After waiting for nearly 30 minutes the food came burger was requested no cheese but came with cheese on it. Asked if it could be redone without cheese came back 30 seconds later cheese scrapped of. The locals were rude using a lot of swearing with young children in bar. Portion sizes were small 🤬

Came for food with the family my Stake Pie was delicious 😋 could have done with a wee more gravy with it. Mum's paella had plenty of fish, and she was happy, too.

Lovely little local pub in Mabe. Friendly atmosphere, cheerful staff, happy to welcome you and your dog. Great selection of beer and the food menu looks impressive. Geoff says hi.

Really lovely, quality food, friendly and helpful staff.

A friendly waitress served us in the beer garden with a couple of "light" lunches. As you can see from the photo's the food was delicious. We were checked up on occasionally (just right) and beer was brought at regular intervals, helping to wash down the fantastic meal. Even better was I could walk (stagger??) home. Ideal. Will we be back? You can bet your life on that! Fantastic local pub.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, food is farely priced, the Sunday Roast is unbeatable, true value for money, good portions, you do get a lot for large or small meal, and cooked perfectly, I recommended you give the New Inn in Mabe Burnthouse a visit, they are also dog friendly, I am sure you will not be disappointed. Just to be sure, pleased phone and book a table, as the New Inn is becoming busy, you don't want to be disappointed now do you!

Just had a fabulous roast dinner here with friends. Very reasonably priced with good portions. Had 6 different vegetables and lots of roast potatoes. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent food (I had the liver and bacon) and beer, good prices, friendly service, and lovely, cosy décor. Plus, the car park is conveniently situated right alongside the pub.

Very highly recommended. Good value. Three of us just had Sunday lunch. Absolutely stuffed. Had large roast pork , large beef and small roast chicken. Plenty of meat and roast potatoes on all three plates, other veg arrived in dishes again so much. Next time will have the small as we also had the home cooked puddings. All fresh and tasty. Well, the diet starts again tomorrow.

We went to the pub for a birthday meal for my father-in-law. If it wasn't for the lovely young lady running around doing everyone else's job, as well as her own, then it would have been a total disaster. I hope the owner reads this, MORE STAFF NEEDED. There was no cutlery, condiments or napkins on the table. The food took an hour to appear, and when it did it was virtually cold. The service was appalling and we will never go back. Such a shame really as the pub used to be a great place to eat. Extremely disappointed. ☹️☹️

Went to the New Inn at Mabe for my girlfriend's mum's birthday, haven't been their for 30 years or so...wow, friendly staff, great service and a fantastic roast beef Sunday lunch. Nice ice cold drinks and a lovely warm wood burning stove in the restaurant, will definitely be back

Great Sunday Roast at The New Inn, Mabe. They offer small at £8 and large at £10 and the beer was good as well.

Stopped off at this place one evening and had a very lovely meal, so when we wanted to book a Sunday lunch for four thought this would be ideal except we received a phone message to say the meal was cancelled as they had run out of food due to network we did not get this message and duly turned up at 3pm for 4pm sitting only to be turned away, this booking was made a few days prior to the date so feel let down by this unacceptable service, sorry new inn but please plan fir all bookings

Unfortunately the access for disabled and prams is very poor,as there is steep steps down to the pub.I had the roast beef which was very nice apart from the cabbage which was not cooked and un eatable otherwise very friendly staff and pleasant.

This is what many people quite rightly call a traditional cornish pub. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly explaining how the covid rules work in the pub as its different in each pub we have been to. It was not a problem that for work reason we can't use the track and trace app. Food was very good with large portions being the normal way of of things. I did try the real ales and the Doombar was well served and well looked after and was very nice to drink alongside the large fish and chips that I had. So if you are in the area worth a look, but bear in mind that this pub does get busy and it does have locals who also appreciate that they have a good pub on their doorstep.

Sunday roast for large group (16), everyone's food arrived to the table at the same time and was hot. A very good roast dinner, with choice of meats and veg in a cosy spot.

Really chilled out atmosphere. Cozy pub. Very neat. Well maintained. A proper Cornish pub.( Please don't alter and become a trendy winebar with no character as so many have become.) Not forgetting the fab young lady as barmaid. So friendly,chatty,kind. Genuinely nice We'll definitely be going again.
