Food was lovely, my boyfriend and I haven’t enjoyed a meal as much as that in a while. Food and drinks are low price, especially considering the portion size. Service was good; they were fast and they made sure everything was okay. Definitely coming back☺️

Fantastic, this was an amazing dining experience that I wish I got from other village pubs. Great service, staff are friendly and always helpful. The food is divine, and brilliant value for money. I would definitely recommend to all.

Ok so Lynne and I are back at The New Inn with friends having yet another superb meal. We have now eaten here a few times and I feel I should commend the staff and the chef ( who we found out his name was Ronnie ) very nice touch when he comes out of the kitchen personally to ask if everything is ok. Once again superb service and our friends also commented on how lovely this superb pub/restaurant is. Even when we pop in for a snack Pizza that is just superb. Well done all at The New Inn. we certainly will be back and so will our friends. You guys deserve to do well as you always go the extra mile. Thank you, so refreshing in this day and age . Went to have drinks and a meal to celebrate my birthday day. The atmosphere and welcoming staff were very nice. The menu was very good, and the meals to choose from were extensive. To summarise, the food was excellent and the price and service were top rate. Well done, the New Inn!!

Met with a friend who had a surprise lunch for me she asked the chef to cook something special well was it special? We had Seabree served with Dauphinoise potatoes asparagus tips The fish was cooked to perfection succulent absolute delicious what an exceptional little village pub when you arrive, you can see it’s still working progress outside, but oh my God, when it is all finished, it will be a truly outstanding credit to the owners, i’m informed that one of the owners is a chef and the other is a builder. What a combination clearly both very talented atmosphere fantastic service fantastic menu extensive and home-cooked traditional pub food although our lunch was a bit special on request will definitely be back again. Cannot recommend it enough staff fabulous, 10% service charge add to the bill but worth every penny .

Had dinner with friends decided on the new inn we were not disappointed the food and service was top quality . The portion sizes were really generous we could only manage a main all the staff were young but they all knew there jobs. There is so much on the menu I had a job to decide so will definitely be going back

Booked here for my mums birthday and we arrived at 7.20pm and didn’t get any food till 9.15pm we had to ask for menus and was told there would be a wait on food we were supposed to get starters but after 45 mins asked where they were and then the chef came out and said did we want pizzas instead which we said we just wanted what we ordered but decided on no starters to make it quicker! Most of us enjoyed our meals but we would have had starters and puddings if we didn’t have to wait almost 2 hours for any food. The staff didn’t communicate much with us what was happening apart from the guy on the bar who was very apologetic and did explain they had been over booked. The decor and space is lovely so hopefully service and food can be improved in future!

Booked a table last Wednesday for food and to watch the England game(This is a First for Ronnie). The Food was excellent, I had a Home made Steak,Mushroom & Ale Pie. On a King Size bed of Mash,Veg n Gravy and my Wife had the Burger (Big enough for 2 people). The Service. Quality of Food and the very generous portions make this a must for all you foodies. Double birthday celebration. We were greeted by an extremely nice lady manager . After our coats were taken we were shown to our table by a very polite younger member of staff. The room was warm & cosy with a low buzz of customers chatting , & laughing. Our order for drinks were promptly taken after allowing us time to settle in. As our drinks arrived the food order was taken. There was a 25 min wait for food however considering this was a very busy Sat evening happy to except that. Oh boy! It was well worth the wait.The food was excellent! Piping hot nicely presented & LOTS of it. Very generous portions indeed & all home cooked Yummy! Only one thing that in our opinion would be an improvement. Perhaps put the tv off for a while. Its not needed. People on the whole were not watching it . So nice to hear an almost ( with some) lost art of conversation. Otherwise ,very enjoyable evening at the New Inn.

This pub by far exceeds all your expectations. Fabulous drinks, excellent staff in a warm inviting environment. We went for a Sunday roast as recommended by friends & I have to say this is the best meal we have had in a long time. Huge portions, great value & super tasty. The staff were so friendly from the moment we walked in, the place was packed & we can understand why, luckily we booked. Will definitely be back.

We booked The New Inn to celebrate our joint 30th birthdays. We're not fussy so was very happy for Ronnie to do what he thought would be good for the buffet and my goodness, if was so good! Hot and cold food, really tasty, enough to go around and a brilliant selection. Jodie and the team were great, so lovely, helpful and attentive all night. It was such a calm and ambient atmosphere, we really enjoyed our evening, very us! Thank you so much to all the New Inn team for making it a lovely celebration for us!

Genuinely the best belly pork I have had in a very long time. Staff were excellent, friendly, inviting and always on hand to help. The food, well this is top of the pile. Always a great welcome when you arrive, staff friendly and helpful. Food plenty of choice and you definitely won’t go home hungry in fact if you get to ‘full up ‘ you can take home for later. Couldn’t fault the staff so don’t know how on earth someone could say such awful things. Will be eating here again

Had a private function here, food was fantastic and there was such a nice atmosphere. Owner and staff were extremely hospitable and friendly. Garden was lovely too, would highly recommend!

So like every friday a good group of friends meet up and have a couple drinks after work, we normally go to a different pub! But heard that this pub has reopened and has had a face lift! On first impressions the pub looked great! Unfortunately due to the staff are vist was very unpleasant! We were spoken disgustingly by the so called landlord! Being told to move tables because more "important customers were coming and wanted are tables" one of are group said were not happy about that! The landlord told us to all drink up and F**k off and we don't like are kind here (workers) safe to say we won't be going there anytime soon and Will certainly be tell all who we know no to either!! Shame.

The attitude this pub demonstrates about customers on social media is embarrassing. I've never seen a professional business talk about customers and incidents in their business with such little dignity and poise. Would not recommend.

Edited to add: the response from the landlord below says it all. I am not connected to the incident today at the pub in any way. As a local neighbour I disagree with their approach to posting abusive messages about customers on their social media. I also find it interesting that the landlord is attempting to intimidate me by saying Facebook removed my questions on his latest post after making a joke about somebody who has passed away! He removed my post as it did not fit his narrative. He then blocked me as he cannot take any form of constructive critisism to understand his own actions. I did visit this establishment after they opened. Myself and a small group of female friends were ignored at the bar twice, once for drinks, the other asking about food. I haven't been back as a result of this experience and their attitude on social media is embarrassing and puts me off!

This was a late Christmas Treat for all my family (15 of us) and The New Inn certainly didn't disappoint. The food was excellent, not one complaint! The Chef even came and made himself know to us all! The staff were so helpful and Amy our young waitress really looked after us! Come here all the time, the team always make myself and my family so welcome!! We’ve had tables of 15 of us for dinner which Ronnie has single-handedly cooked all the different meals for us and they were delicious. Also, all the ladies behind the bar are attentive and so friendly - especially Jodie, they all make you feel right at home and welcome. Couldn’t recommend this pub enough, the staff are the best🌟

Nice place for a bite to eat passing through the town. Needing some dinner The New Inn was the ideal little pub to stop at to grab one of their delicious pizzas. Not knowing what sort of food I wanted I walked in asking for a table for food. A small venue with a few reserved tables meant I may have been waiting a while. Thankfully, the kind staff offered me a small table & the chance to order fast to beat the rush! A good menu with the addition of their pizza menu at very good prices made my decision easy! The experience would have been fantastic had it off not been for the chef. Returned a meal as the meat in the pie was very tough, the waitress was very apologetic, shortly after the chef came out and was extremely rude and unapologetic, completely shocked by the way he treated us and it’s such a shame as we are local. Never been spoken to like that by anybody before, it was absolutely shocking and several of his staff members were apologising for his behaviour. We actually left half way through our meals, we felt so uncomfortable. Will not be returning.

What a fabulous pub; the atmosphere was great, it was pretty busy but friendly and fun. Food was outstanding, I always order a burger when I'm out and this one was one of the best. Partner went for the fish and she raved about it. We were only out for a quite bit to eat and were there for over three hours. Been a while since we enjoyed a night like this, wish we lived locally but certainly can't wait to come back. We didn't have enough room for dessert but maybe next time.

3 of us visited on a Thursday evening for some good , firstly the place was dark and empty zero atmosphere, we sat down ordered food came and unfortunately it wasn't very good Chips cooked in old oil stank! A friends pie was burnt in the middle When we made the waiter aware we got a "o ok I'll take of the bill" Overall not a we will be retuning , I tried making the owner aware on their FB page as we live locally and want the pub to do well , unfortunately it was met with abuse and then blocked of the page!

Recently reopened what a little Gem Berryfield has to offer. The staff were welcoming, the food delicious. 3 times I've been 4th tonight 3 times I've had the ribeye steak 😋 🤷‍♂️ What can I say it was fabulous. I must try something else tonight.

The food was good the only think that really let it down was the service. They shown us to our table and then no menus were given for around 15 minutes and we had to ask for them. We asked for ice in our drink and never got it. Two steaks were ordered and no steak knives were given. We had to ask twice for the knives to be given to us. When the steaks came out the waitress said ‘two medium steaks’ one was asked to be medium well done. The girl went to check and then returned and the chef came out rather defensive. No one came to check how the meal was or ask if any drinks were needed. Overall the food was amazing just the service that let it down hugely.

We went as a family of 4 last night. Food was excellent, massive portions, value for money. Such a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Work is continuing in the garden but what has been done so far is excellent. We are looking forward to returning soon.

We were passing through Melksham, staying the night at the Travelodge and asked for recommendations for an evening meal. The New Inn was close by, 5 mins in the car. Not too inspiring from the outside, but there was a nice atmosphere, chatty locals and I had the best slice of steak and ale pie for many a year. Generous portions and very good value. My partner’s lasagne was very good too. Infact we both struggled to finish, so large were the portions. Very enjoyable.

We had been told that the pizzas here were 'better than Domino's' but I think that is most definitely an understatement! The freshly made pizzas came out piping hot and were so flavourful and looked amazing too! We can't stop raving about The New Inn, whether it's for the fabulous staff, the delicious food or the great atmosphere! It's a pub for every occasion!
