Absolutely legend of a pub.. the bar staff and the locals all made us feel welcome.. very good value prices on beers and spirits.. I always had reservations about going in but you won't find a more friendly pub in weston..

Proudly bearing the title of Westons roughest pub for 40 years, the New Ancaster is actually alright, the locals are boisterous and jovial, the beer flows and on Fridays there is karaoke. This is a place where you can let your hair down and not be judged.

Love the fresh New look, pool table, Lots of local characters and friendly, welcoming barmaid, Debbie!

Lively pub providing a social venue to the area. Good drink selection and family & dog friendly..

Back open now after the pandemic lock down with new people running the pub. Great local corner pub, pool table, sells hot sausage rolls, pies & pasties. Has some bottled ales for me, double up on spirits for a quid. Great pub for me & the dogs

I personally enjoyed it, but we did get stared at by the locals and my boyfriend was really uncomfortable. We are a very normal looking couple, no funny clothes or anything.

Good local pub full of local nutters

Great host who has a good laugh, keeps customer's entertained. Quality food served and excellent draught beer would highly recommend to anyone. Friendly atmosphere, all the locals get on with anyone who comes in. Definitely 5 star

The exterior is a little put off but we were so pleased we went in! A really lovely place with a welcoming atmosphere. The open fire was lit which made it feel extra Christmassy. Quirky interior, eclectic taste. You wouldn’t think it would work with the varied pictures and items hung absolutely everywhere but it does. Love it. Reasonably price drink but we didn’t get chance to eat so not sure on food yet. Dog friendly as well. Definitely will return 😃

I have been going to this pub for about 2 years now and the service is EXCELLENT. I managed to create a friendship bond with the owners as they are so friendly and also get along with the other customers. Everyone that goes there get greeted with such kindness. Every Summer, the pub gathers up friends and family and puts on a BBQ for everyones entertainment. They allow pets into their bar and children are welcome too. I'm never disappointed when I am there. Drinks are cheap and pub snacks can also be bought there like crisps, nuts and pork scratchings. Great atmosphere and service.

The New Ancaster is a brilliant local; Blair and Mat are so warm and welcoming, the drinks are well-priced and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. They have a lovely record player (that takes requests!), an eclectic interior, and the most unique sense of style. You can't help feeling like part of the family. Dog-friendly with events for families and children nearly every weekend, I would say there is no where better than the New Ancaster!

A decent enough locals pub in an area not known for pleasant watering holes.

We recently moved into a house just down the road from this pub and kept telling ourselves we must pop in for a drink. Finally last weekend we did so and were very happy that we did. The interior is a very eclectic but very homey mix of furnishings and Blair and Matt immediately made us feel very welcome. In a short space of time we were propping up the bar and being treated like long-time customers! Needless to say we have returned and are now becoming regulars. I can heartily recommend this pub to anyone. Matt and Blair are so friendly and welcoming and the pub is child and dog friendly to boot!

Came on a sunday, wanting to eat something but unfortunately the kitchen was closed. BUT: we felt immediately dearly welcomed, as we were coming back to friends after a long time. That´s great! Not exclusive at all, but friendly!

This pub has gone through many incarnations since I moved here to Weston-super-Mare, some of which have been more successful than others. This was my first visit in many years and I was very impressed. The interior is nice and bright and the staff are very friendly. The music was ideal for the mature drinker (Otis Redding, The Doors and whoever sang about the elusive butterfly of love!) but not too loud - my pal and I had to abandon a pub in town when they raised the volume so high that we had to lipread. The drinks were reasonably priced and they kindly brought the second round to our table as I'd twisted my knee whilst dancing and my mate had ankle pain as he's recovering from his first attack of gout! Ah, the joys of middle age... This is an ideal venue for anyone who is thirty plus. I'm a lunchtime drinker but I checked and they will also make coffee for those who prefer a hot drink.

This pub is a lovely little venue, nice interior, fairly priced drinks, free pool table and absolutely lovely people and bar staff! Family orientated, and on weekends they do a free barbeque which is to a very good standard! Definitely recommend visiting!
