We eaten here over many years and always had an enjoyable meal. However, over the last few Sundays, there appears to have been a change in the way the gravy is being made. It was always delicious but now that appealing deep brown glossy look, has been replaced with a lacklustre, gooey consistency and is spoiling the meal. It’s difficult to explain but it’s definitely different and not in a good way. Also, that and the food are not as hot as they used to be. I hope you will revert to making gravy the previous way so we can continue to dine with yourselves.

Definitely glad we came here, first time visiting and received a warm welcome then shown to our table, even though it was busy our drinks order was taken in good time shortly followed by our food order. A few of us ordered starters, we had the battered prawns and the sharing platter which were both good. All of us went for the carvery, the meat was so tender and they served a decent portion too. Brilliant veg options and all piping hot. It's got to be one of the best carverys we have eaten, made even better due to them serving cornish rattler cider....perfect! Prices are very reasonable and for the quality of the food it can't be beaten. You have definitely got more regular custom from us now.

Booked a table for 12 people and was surprised there was plenty of room for us to sit comfortably. Carvery was excellent with plenty of meat and great choice of veg and trimmings. The only downside was only 2 hours allowed and the coffee machine broke during our serving. We noticed a possible problem for us. The restaurant has adequate disabled access from the outside. Also disabled toilet. However the path to the disabled toilet was partially blocked by a table and lots of high chairs stacked up leaving only a narrow walkway which meant insufficient room for wheelchair access. Luckily this was not required. Staff were friendly but rushed.

For quite some years we have eaten at The Nailers more or less every Thursday or at The Swan, it’s sister pub. The carvery is exceptional, 3 meats and multiple vegetables. The a la carte menu is exemplary, plenty of choice, pub specials and all at realistic prices. The Quality at both pubs is so so special, the food fantastic, drinks choice second to none! The service is both friendly and efficient and is a credit to the managers and the owners, Shula and Phil. We all hope the new management continues in the same vein. Good luck for the future everybody. It has been a joy to eat, drink and be served by you all over the years. Thank you all very very much!

Met friends here yesterday. Never been before. It was thro a Google maps search for somewhere between us, from North Warwickshire and our friends from Gloucester. It needed to be dog friendly inside, in case of bad weather. I messaged The Nailers Arms and almost straightaway they replied back. Dogs are welcome in the bar. We couldn't have wished for a nicer place. Friendly staff, who were not phased at all by the arrival of 6 mini schnauzers, who are not known for their quietness! The meals were excellent. We had 2 carverys. Oh my word, such a choice. Too much choice. A mixed grill and the faggots. All were delicious. It's such a shame we do not live closer, we'd be visiting every week! It was, however, well worth the hours drive it took us.

Hadn't been to the restaurant for years,, but we thought we'd give it a go. We had the carvery. I had the veggie slice and my husband had the meaty carvery. It was delicious and the server even gave me vegan gravy for my meal. The only downside was, when the bill arrived , we were charged a pound extra for the veggie slice (which was nothing special) and I fail to understand why? The service was great and the surroundings were lovely. We will return, but I'll probably just have the vegetables.

Having been recommended by friends & family to try the carvery here we decided to book. Upon entry to the bar we were met with staff who were polite and helpful which is always a good start! On selecting our meats at the carvery section we were pleasantly surprised to be allowed a little extra meat on asking (not many carveries would allow this!) there was a brilliant selection of vegetables all piping hot and regularly topped up. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff here and when asking if it was ok to get a bit more gravy the offer of her fetching this and returning with a little jug was lovely! All of these little things have added up to a wonderful visit, we certainly will be visiting again!

Just visited on Saturday 22nd April 2023 and as usual absoluetly perfect. So often when a restaurant is excellent, the staff and owners become arrogant and lazy. They assume people will continue to visit, no matter the quality of food or service and they allow standards to slip and forget about locals and regulars. This is certainly not the case with the Nailers Arms - if anything it gets better every time we visit. We have been visiting the Nailers for about 15 years and have had many great meals here. We have had large parties for major family events and small parties just for us and everyone who comes with us, says what a gem of a restaurant and easily the best carvery they have ever had and believe me, they are fussy and wouldn't hesitate to say if it wasn't good. I can not recommend the Nailers Arms too much, as it delivers on every aspect. Great food, great service and a great atmosphere. The only negative is that the Waffle desert for 2, is too delicious and we end up arguing about who has eaten more !! My wife always digs right in and takes all the Brownie. In summary, this is a brilliant place for a Carvery and highly recommend, but always make sure you book as it is always busy. Can't wait for our next visit. We are also looking forward to trying The Swan to see if it is as good - I already know what the answer will be !!

We came yesterday for an extended family lunch, having not been for at least 5 years. I am happy to report that the Nailer’s carvery is as excellent as ever. I had roast beef and gammon and it was really good, with an extensive range of all the trimmings I like (dauphinoise potatoes, cauliflower cheese and loads of vegetables). Service from both the carvery guy and the waitress at the table was also friendly and competent. Others in the party ordered from the a la carte menu and were also happy with their meals. We will definitely be returning soon!

On arrival the staff showed us to our table, they could not have been more friendly and helpful. Most of us had the carvery which was great, one had a chicken salad which had plenty of chicken and one had Scampi and chips. Dessert we nice particularly the cherry crumble. We were never rushed, service was great and we always felt welcome and were possibly the last to leave. The bill was not expensive and worth every penny. It is a lovely pub and well worth a visit. The restaurant does not allow dogs! The surrounding gardens look as though they would be nice on a summers day. The owner should be pleased with his catering team and the servers, they are an asset! Will go again if we meet up again like we did.

She was very friendly and served us well all evening.Starting with drinks, there was a small but good selection of cask ales available and the white wine was served cold and crisp as it ought to.Onto the food. Two of our party went for the locally famous carvery and were not disappointed, with plates filled with fresh meat and vegetables till they nearly touched the ceiling! I had the faggots which were like cannonballs in size and weight but meaty and well-seasoned. Delicious! I visited this pub recently with my wife, after a period of absence. Following an initial stop at a hand sanitiser station we were welcomed on arrival and shown to a recently cleaned table. Contact details were asked for and given as per government guidelines. Table service was second to non, despite the relatively small bar area being complimented by a sizeable garden marquee (well lit and heated). The small team of staff remained cheerful, chatting with customers as they cleared tables and checked on customers requiring service, presumably smiling behind their masks. We can't comment on food quality from this visit but from what we could see it looked plentiful. There is a sizeable restaurant on site but due to Covid restrictions we couldn't visit it without a reservation. For all those with concerns about venturing out into the modern world, don't worry, do it. Businesses like the Nailer's Arms are doing what they can to put customers first and allay our Covid fears. They need us. I just wish that we hadn't left it so long.

We said this wasn’t fair as the restaurant was too busy to serve us, as we had booked, people were being served outside as well, so we had to settle for the carvery. If there is not the capacity to serve everyone in a reasonable time surely extra bookings shouldn’t be taken. Also not enough staff on we were told three. Always loved this restaurant but unlikely to visit again.

I have been aware of your renowned carvery for a number of years now and today I finally paid you a visit which was well worth it. A lovely area so lucky to have it near me. On to my dining experience with you. I telephoned to reserve a table for carvery staff were more than helpful to speak to and booked me in smoothly. I arrived today and was welcomed and shown to our table. Young lad was very mature and went through everything with us, took out drinks order and invited us to carvery. At carvery you have a good choice of meats and vegetables to choose from. Me and my friend went all out and had the works. Just managed to get to the table as my plate was full to the top. I tucked in and it was warm and tasted fresh. The meat was very flavoursome and enjoyable. Me and my friend just about managed to get through it all. The deserts sounds very nice and tempting (especially the cheesecake) but was too full at end. We were looked after and staff come back to check if everything is alright with our meals. As a frequent diner this is key to enhancing the dining experience. I was also impressed with the layout and safety procedures you have put in to follow the guidelines during this Covid time and of course participating in the eat out to help out scheme. Danny

For an excellent carvery, look no further! Plenty of rustic, home cooked dishes, cooked wonderfully! My partner and I are both vegetarian but we found we don't actually need to meat as the rest of the food is so tasty! They also have an excellent selection of real ales to wash it down.

Just back from our first visit after the lockdown and wasn’t disappointed, we both had the carvery which was served rather than help yourself. A server fills your plate with what you want and as much as you want, all of which was excellent. The restaurant has moved out some tables so your say a good distance away from other diners and you feel very safe as all the staff wear visors or masks. It’s a worrying time starting to eat out again but I’m sure you will enjoy eating at the Nailors, would recommend a visit.

I missed this place! As soon as the announcement came that restaurants could open I was all over this! New decor is lovely, the arrangement of the tables is great. Still a cosy feel but at a safe distance. Staff were as friendly as ever and the food was delicious as always! Can’t wait to go again. Great job guys

Visited today for Sunday lunch first meal out since March. It was great to be back at the Nailers. No need to have worried how different it would feel. The lounge has been newly refurbished its looks really smart with beautiful new wooden flooring. The tables are well spaced but still maintains its unique atmosphere. The staff are all cheery and happy to be back at work so nice to see them all again. The carvery is protected by a screen which looks really nice as well as hygienic. The staff serve you as much as you ask for. Then hand you your plate at the end. The food was delicious all the better for the long wait. Staff bring cutlery and drinks to your table. The whole process works really well. Everyone we spoke to really enjoyed being back. Felt very safe but still a lovely friendly atmosphere. Cant wait for next visit. A credit to everyone of the staff and management for working so hard to provide a brilliant service.

Excellent service is the theme of this pub for me. Really polite staff. The portions are very large, so you may well have to leave some. Nicely cooked & excellent drinks.

We enjoyed our food which was very reasonably priced and the staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant is looking very tired now, it has been a few years since our last visit and it was a little surprising that it has not been updated or at least deep cleaned as the seat covers were stained and in need of new fillings! Overall it was value for money, just a little rough around the edges. Wouldn't go again, there are lots of places locally serving carvery and with fresher decor/seating.

Service-fine Plenty of choice including game. Food-good but why be mean with vegetables? Vegetables are not costly so more than potato plus one green would be better

Awful! The worst fish and chip shop I have been to in a long while. Bought fish chips and curry. The fish was burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside the chips were hard, bitty and few in number and the savoury curry was not nice and repeated on me for hours later, all in all an £11.70 expensive waste of money! Wish I had driven to Seavers.

The cafe is closed, this is now just a petrol station with a garage forecourt. Lorry park still open, charges £20 to park on a litter strewn yard, no showers and only one toilet in the garage which was dirty and had no paper when I called there. Owner rude and arrogant. Avoid unless you're absolutely desperate. There is space for a good thirty trucks there , there were about six when I visited which tells you everything you need to know.
