Good friendly pub and pleasant staff. Friday evening there's good music with lights and a party type feel to the place. The improvements they have given the place are good.

I’d be writing all day about the current managers of this place. They were appointed temporary managers at another Craft Union pub that I was working at. Doesn’t pay staff.

Terrible pub, terrible pints, terrible staff. Might as well go into Mansfield these days. I would avoid if you want a somewhat decent evening. The atmosphere was abysmal.

I’m not gonna lie, as someone who’s lived in Sutton all my life, I was absolutely took back by how stupid there rules are, I was in a group of 8, I nipped home and arrived slightly later than everyone else. When I got to the nag I walked inside to look for them, to which a bouncer came and escorted me outside and told me, because it was after 9pm I couldn’t come in in my joggers. It’s not the point, but I was dressed smart not like some little road man. My partner met me at the door and explained there were multiple people inside that’s was wearing joggers, and I was still turned away. Ruined my night, ruined my friends nights, what an appalling experience. No wonder everyone is going to Mansfield for the pubs now. Should never ever turn away a paying, (not drunk especially) customer. Joke.

Come in Saturday night was lively but dj refused to play any request also beer tasted funny had chronic diarrhoea for a few days sure they don't clean keg pipes

I was having a few drinks in the pub came out around 12am for some fresh air, i was talking to the security when a woman shouted put the window she shouldnt be drinking out there i said im not she said u should not be smoking i was not, she told the security to make surr i dont come in again i am innocent and have done nothing wrong i am fuming and will NEVER be going back again i dwmans an appology discusting atttitudes from the staff dont smile horrible place... took my drink away when i wasnt fi jshed with it and wouldnt let me have aleast half they took away 1 out if 10 because the security was nice to me and cpuldnt appologise enough.

Went to the Nags Head last night (28/04/23) and the lady on the bar was the rudest barmaid i’ve ever come across. So unwelcoming and aggressive. She refused to serve me and my boyfriend even though we were not “intoxicated” as she put it (the bouncers agreed after getting my boyfriend to walk in a straight line). It felt like she just didn’t want us in there for some strange reason. As a barmaid myself, I am aware how drunk people need to be cut off straight away but we were not drunk. Even if we were drunk, she could have refused more drinks in a more polite way. She was rude and I will never go back! Get yourself to new cross pub who had no problem serving us after we had to leave the nags head. Millie Smith.

Large pub in Sutton Town centre, generally relatively busy. Good for watching sports, card bingo etc. Good atmosphere frequented by all age ranges, leaning towards the slightly older during the week. Reasonable prices as part of the Craft Union Group. Recommended as part of the few pubs now open in town!

Visited this pub many of times since the new landlady has taken it over and I’m really impressed! Great selection of drinks friendly atmosphere and very welcoming! I visited in October before it was taken over by new owners and i was absolutely disheartened the previous owners was rude and clueless no atmosphere or vibe !! So im certainly impressed now the pub truly has been bought back to life!! I highly recommend to everybody!!

The place opened yesterday it was in a dirty state already at 1.30 pm the next day. There was a dog running round climbing on people not sure if it was owned by the bar staff or the manager? There where two bar staff on a man trying hard and a woman who had no clue at all never served anyone while I was there. Two old men walked out without being served so I waited a while and followed them. I have never been in there before and I will not be back. They should get a cleaner sack the useless girl who wanders aimlessly! I have not been in before and I will not go in again Avoid!

Lovely location and very nice carvery and small play area for children

Very comfortable Beautifully air-conditioned . Very cheap . Soft lighting a outside area to have drinks a very large lounge . Love it

If you're just after a pint it's ok but don't expect anything fancy the only wine they have is Chardonnay which is quite disappointing this day and age

Called in today with my 16 year old son. One surly looking lady behind the bar, took an age to get served. Got 1 pint of beer and a J20 Sat down and the bar maid came over and asked us to leave as my son was under 18. Literally 2 minutes after serving us . Avoid this place , the beer is awful and the customer service is even worse, and the toilets are something from the dark ages. Avoid

Smoking area needs a good clean inside of pub not to bad staff are OK

Won the quiz and they wouldn't give the gallon of beer prize to me and my mate saying to come back as the winning tickets had not been printed yet also absolutely horrible bar staff

Nice quaint local pub in Sutton-in-Ashfield, similar to Del Boy's Nag's Head, lovely bar staff, bingo also on, food and karaoke 🎤 would be a good idea

I was the door supervisor at this pub and because we were polite and courteous the locals took a shine to us and worked with us really well. Natalie was great to work for as was Shane. The rest of the staff were friendly and polite too. Miss it Sean

A bit too difficult to have a quiet pint and read a paper. Some of the customers can be "difficult"

Let down by foul smelling gents toilets, been refurbished a number of times but the problem still persists.

Don't think the pub had been cleaned from the night before, it smelt terrible in there, and to make things worse I went to the toilets and came out with my eyes watering from the smell. Not somewhere I would go again in a hurry

I dont even want to give this pub any stars I am disabled i went in there on my mobility scooter i was with my husband and adult daughter was going to spend a few hours in there my hubby been trying to get me in there for months so i agreed so i rode in there but no sooner was we in there than the barmaid was over like a flash she almost jumped the bar to tell me i couldnt be on my scooter but i explained my scooter was my only way of getting about i even said i would sit in the corner out of the way of everybody but she wasnt having none of it so i asked for the head office phone number so i went to call them but what a surprise she gave us a number that dont exsist what a classy lady

Absolutely shocking. Went in with my wife who is disabled and was told straight away that there is no mobility scooters allowed. We were told to leave as my wife can't get off of her scooter and the lady said well it's like a small car and takes up too much space but if you were in a wheelchair you can come in. If I could give this place no stars for a rating I would. Absolutely shocking. That woman couldn't have come over to us any quicker than she did to tell us to get out.

Pub for everyone. Meals, real ale, pool, over 18's room, large car park

Local but decent boozer. Couldn't believe the price of the beer! Soo cheap Carling @ £2 a pint! Lots of activities going on including stickeys.

What can i say, its a sutton pub thats serves nice beer.
