Great place, foods brilliant and staff are lovely

Amazing food and service on Saturday the new lamb kofta flatbread was so delicious and £10 on a Saturday bargain!!

Lovely staff in past but manager well what can I say! Absolute disgrace of a person saved up to pay for a hotel for 2 days whilst visiting family.. I travelled all day from Sheffield to Wigan with 3 kids 2 of them with special needs as well also I’m pregnant so I was tired and wanted to sleep turned up they couldn’t find my booking although I had it on my phone they then said I had to cancel so I did then he decided to say I can’t have my money back for it 🤷‍♀️ a young guy was on he understood what was going on he tried to help this idiot said I couldn’t have 2 singles room as they don’t have kids in mount 🤷‍♀️ I have stayed here lots of times with my children he then went on to say I had 10 kids trying to book into a family room please tell me were these 10 children are! Stayed here previous and he was moaning back then as well will NOT recommend this place to anyone abosoltue disgrace

Been here 2 hours waited for 2 curries, 3 kids meals took 40 mins then order wrong waited a further 5 mins for bhajis and samosa,poppadom was horrendous they did replace and, we ordered 22 mins for puddings and still waiting. Won't be back

Went there for some food a few days ago and the service from robyn was amazing! She helped with everything we needed and was so friendly and kind.

Came with my boyfriend the other weekend and received great service from the team. We arrived post-breakfast service and the regular menu doesn’t offer a vegetarian full English, just a meat-based one (which was a bit disappointing). Luckily, a team member nipped into the kitchen and organised a veggie one being cooked for me anyway. I was really grateful; it was such a nice touch. With this in mind, ordering was really easy and enjoyable. Our visit could have done with a little TLC here and there - the tables were VERY sticky and both mine and my boyfriend’s mushrooms looked anaemic 😭 A grilled tomato, and a choice of eggs wouldn’t have gone a miss either. If you’re looking for cheap and fast food and you’re not too bothered about the quality, you’re onto a winner here.

Food really nice from new menu ordered the bangin chicken but the wait was a bit long. Ordered the horseshoe doughnut it was nice but mean with the cream. Waited a while for that too wasn't that busy either.

Had our Dinner there. Food was cold and adult's and children allowed to run and scream around the place . Management did absolutely nothing. Won't be going back.

Called in for lunch today for the first time, purchased 2 meals off the midweek special menu, choose 2 meals for £10 each on the deal, the meal were ok nothing special to be honest. The meals were meant to be £14.50 each without the special offer, I certainly would not have paid that price for what we got ….

Very impressed good value for money

We went as a local signing group about 40 of us and we sang and the customers that we're there really enjoyed it.We all had a drink and it was a lovely atmosphere

Poor in so many respect. Room was filthy , dried blood on sheets, dried what looked like poo on sheets and pillow, pubes around the taps and gaffer tape covering a hole in the floor. Booked for 3 nights , checked out after night 1, avoid at all costs

My Granddaughter visited the Mount on/11/May 2024. and her ID was not accepted even tho her meal and drink were charged to her. As the drink was not served she should have had her drink money refunded. My Family have been going to the Mount Restaurant for a number of years to celebrate Birthdays and Anniversary's' I do not understand how you can not accept a phone ID from a single mother of a Five year old when you had served her on Saturday the 9/Feb /2019 her 18th birthday and also on the Saturday 12/Feb/2022 her 21st birthday

I visited 'The Mount', today, with a friend at about 6pm, there were plenty of spaces in the car park, We easily found an unoccupied table. Menus were available in the condiment holder. Ordering was straightforward, the staff were polite and friendly Our order was completed in a timely manner, the food was good, the room was comfortable, the tables looked like they had had a hard life. but they were perfectly functional.

Great breakfast at a good price, didn't stay over so can't comment on the rooms, service was great too. 👍

We attended the mount on 13th April 2024, the meals are absolutely vile. I'd say they are microwave level standard. I had the mixed grill, egg was raw, sausages barely cooked, something which I think was chicken was strange and not edible,pineapple disgusting. My partner had katsui chicken, had about 6 chips and 7 grains of rice. Drinks were bad too, draught beer had a very metallic taste. It's gone downhill that place avoid!!

Only went for a couple of pints, not the cheapest place considering it's a pint and over £4 for a carling is expensive but suppose it's going rate for most pubs now, probably explains why most people can't afford go out any more

Popped in today for breakfast, was served by ell at the bar, Mike brought our food, excellent service so friendly, Under new management Lisa is such a friendly and polite person! Recommend popping in to give them a go at your convenience! Food was great value, hot and tasty!

We went to celebrate a family birthday, there were 12 of us and we got looked after splendidly. All the food arrived really hot, everything was correct with no errors and all the plates were empty when we finished. The food was excellent, but that was nothing compared to the Guinness. That was poured to absolute perfection, and it even had a shamrock on the top.

The mount is a Hungry Horse pub which means plenty on offer of which there are daily offers. Excellent food and the staff was great. 👍

Duty manager very rude arrogant slammed our food on table and put a red hot sizzling platter Infront of my three year old granddaughter in her high chair almost scolded her .I had to shout at him not to put it there Infront of the baby . And went straight over her head with sizzling platter

Good, honest pub food at a fair price. Excellent choice of ales and lagers. The staff are very friendly, not least Eleanor, and service is top notch. A clean and comfortable venue too. What more could you ask for?!

Went for a pre Cheltenham Pub Afternoon Meal at the Mount. Also my partners Birthday. I had the Mini Mixed Grill and Sandra had the Chicken Parmiagana. Sandra's was fine by my Grill was Underwhelming to say the least. A thin slice of Gammon A little overcooked. Two pieces of Chicken that seemed undercooked on the bottom and overdone on the top. Two hard boiled sausage and half a dozen frozen chips Not been for a while and won't be going back for a while longer. On the plus side the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Went for breakfast for Mother’s Day, and the service was absolutely appalling. Blonde woman at front desk was extremely rude to my mother, we waited 30 mins for a hot drink to then be rudely told it was self serve and the food was very mediocre. Do not recommend.

8 adults and 2 children for Mother’s Day meal, our table was reserved for 3.15 and where seated within 5 min. El the barmaid was lovely took are order read it back got our drinks was very efficient. Our meals came within 20 - 25 minutes no one had any complaints everyone ordered puddings service was spot on.

Nice place helpful young lady .. this place can be hit or miss but today was great . I do chill when I'm in here .sports and cheap beer .

Excellent rapid bar service by EL. Very good steak hardly any waiting time. No issues prices OK . Not the Ritz or the Savoy Grill but AOK by me !

A low quality chain pub with sub-standard service and inedible food. Our table had old crusty food under it that looked like it had been there for quite some time. The bar staff seemed uninterested and not very welcoming. Overall an unpleasant experience and not that affordable either.

Went for an evening meal. Ordered The Gravy One burger with salt and pepper chips and a Full Monty Mixed Grill. The burger arrived cold. Spoke to the bar staff and it was taken away and I was brought a freshly cooked one. Then discovered the gravy was still cold and the chips had no seasoning on. They brought me some seasoning and a fresh pot of hot gravy. The steak in the mixed grill was quite fatty and not of good quality. All in all it has put me off going back. The staff couldn’t have been more apologetic about it all.

Food was really nice, came out quite quick, Rebecca served us and she was so nice, she went above and beyond, getting crayons and the tv on for my little girl why she ate her dinner, over all it was a great meal and was great for the price

Great pub on the way for a night out

Staff in the restaurant were shocking. They ignored customers or multiple occasions and were a bit rude. No happy greeting and no explanation on how to order food and what was available. Staff stood around in the restaurant whilst the manager putting glasses away and...

The worst meal I have ever eaten, roast dinner for myself and guest were both stone cold, after we sent it back and got a hot meal, the Yorkshire pudding on both plates had a chemical taste, tried to order a drink at the bar to get rid of the taste and the only person on the bar went to change a barely leaving a que and other staff seemed more pre occupied talking or emptying glasses from the washer. Didn’t get a drink, there was no soap in the ladies toilets and given the stale and tired appearance inside I won’t be surprised if we’re sick tomorrow. Even the cutlery that we were instructed to get ourselves was in a disgusting dirty container, food hygiene is a basic. Both myself and my guest have worked in the pub trade and never left a meal and hurried out , absolutely disgusted.

Nice place to stay. Staff very helpful. Bar prices are a bit steep but when offeres on not to bad. Alledged Haunted property, didn't spot any unusually activities, economical priced hotel but for a grade 2 building long overdue a upgrade, including food menus. Produce all fresh and carrying the British hallmark of quality. Overall not bad.

Visited for a nice lunch and a cheeky drink. Our server EL was very welcoming, friendly and professional. Very quick service and even cleaned our table in between serving.

We come here a lot and this was the worst experience we have had. The bar maid Rebecca was good then it went down hill from there. The fish tasted undercooked or just out the freezer, the waitress was not helpful when my curry didn’t...

First and last time here. Low quality food reheated in a microwave. Mushy, luke warm and tasteless. Pub could do with a good clean too.

Paying customers. Came for breakfast. Asked by management to sit elsewhere as certain areas of the pub are for hotel residents only. I am aware that most residents in that particular hotel are located rooms there by other means. Made to feel an inconvenience. Would not visit again.

The music is generally quite sombre when we come, I think the relaxed vibe is misplaced with the music. Our server Rebecca gave phenomenal service and had a good laugh whilst helping me navigate the menu. The food was pretty average however for it's price...

Worst breakfast I have had in my life. Sausages overcooked. Mushrooms, bacon, Ash browns, wasn't cooked properly. Seating area is filthy.

My meal was OK. My girlfriend had jerk chicken and rice and said the coating on the chicken was burnt. Pub was tired inside. In need of revamp.

Planned to use this place as an overnight stop this week. Upon arrival , we were told cooked breakfast was only available from 8, rather than 7, with just continental available beforehand. Room was basic, but functional (though there was a bit of mould in the bathroom). In the morning, went to check out, but nobody was in reception. Dropped off key, and went to restaurant for breakfast at 7:45 only to find the whole place locked up. Waited until 8:15, still all locked up, so didn't get the breakfast I'd paid for. Not good at all.

Not good came as a party of 14 first of all not enough staff now my mixed grill was just about edible the steak i asked for medium was well done not sure if it had shrunk as well the sausages well were rubbery reminded...

Friendly helpful staff. The food was excellent.

Bar staff were friendly, welcoming and working hard. My friend's mixed grill looked good. My ruddles steak and ale pie tasted ok but should be called "Ruddles 99.9% pastry with 0.1% steak if you can find any meat that is". I enjoyed the IPA on cask.
