great food and scott was very polite providing a great service, taking the cake home as too full to eat now. come quite frequently always good food

3 mums and 3 boys went for tea. The carvery is always spot on and the staff are always friendly. The new potatoes were especially nice tonight but honestly, it never disappoints. Tonight, the boys (9 and 10), chose to have their ice cream in a booth next to us mums. They went and ordered their ice cream at the bar and sat down in their own booth. Mandy came and asked them which toppings they’d like, bearing in mind that one of the boys had a dairy intolerance. She was brilliant with them, treating them all like individuals and small adults. She made them laugh and ensured they all got what they wanted. A very child friendly person and genuinely lovely. Dan was off duty but dived behind the bar to help with my drinks order. Thank you Dan. I can see that you’re the one for staff to shadow and you care about what you do, even when off duty. Honestly, we never have a bad experience here. The staff work hard to ensure a great experience. Eating out is a luxury these days, but when we get the chance, even though it’s not on our doorstep, this is the place to go. Thank you for your attention to detail and for all working hard to give customers a great dining experience. There’s a play area inside for smaller children and a small playground outside. There is a drinking/dining area outside for the warmer months. Lovely bright farmhouse decor and just a lovely place to visit. Thank you for your attention to detail and for always being friendly and welcoming. I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas, even if working, and have an amazing New Year.

After popping in a month or so ago for a carvery, I suggested that a few of us come here for breakfast. The breakfast carvery was excellent. A good selection of piping hot ingredients- all for a decent price. One of the party was a vegetarian and they managed to put a good breakfast together and the veggie sausages were prepared freshly by the staff…eventually. The hot drinks were refillable. In theory. We were queuing at one and the machine was playing up so the staff told us it would be better going to the other one. So we went to the other one which was just as temperamental and someone came down and suggested that we use the other one!!! I said to the person refilling the beans and emptying out the grounds that they need to get this sorted and they said something along the lines of “this is getting it sorted as far as they are concerned, you should have seen it before”. It wasn’t just us struggling, - everyone else was in the same position. A very poor aspect to the visit. We meet up on a regular basis for breakfast but this has put us off coming back here which is a real pity as the food and venue (and staff) were great. I guess it keeps the cost down for the owners if the machines effectively limit the number of drinks people have. Decent quality drinks when you could actually get one. It was hard to get any ‘flow’ to our party’s visit here, as it seemed that one of us was always up queuing for a drink. Rubbish.

Really, REALLY disappointed with my family's experience today. Having paid £65 per person we had been looking forward to our Christmas day meal. Our excitement though, turned to disappointment and anger having experienced the shambles we've just been through. The food (once you're lucky enough to receive it) is lovely. I had pate for starter and it really was delicious. It wasn't though, worth the hour and 5 minutes wait to get it. After queuing out the door on arrival - despite arriving bang on our pre -booked time - we were shown to our table. We were told that as we'd pre-ordered all our food choices, our starters would be brought straight out. After half an hour I asked a staff member what the hold up was. She said she would check for us and never returned. After another fifteen minutes I asked a second member of staff who promptly disappeared in the same way. Another ten minutes and my daughter went in search of someone to complain to. Our starter then arrived. We then had another long, long wait for our table to be cleared before we could join the queue for main course - carvery. We hadn't realised when booking (and paying £65 per person) that we would be queuing along with people who were not eating in but had walked-in for take-outs! Sorry, but having paid £65 for the privilege of eating in on Christmas Day, this was a bit of a surprise and an annoyance. Having queued for 20 minutes to reach the carvery counter - we had now been here an hour and a half and only had our starters! Once again the food was lovely. The beef was particularly delicious. Cue another long, long wait. We requested dessert to be brought as soon as we started our mains - in an attempt to speed up the process. We waited and waited. No dessert. I went to enquire and was told there was a delay - you don't say! We eventually gave up and left. After three hours we managed to get our starters and our mains. Tables around us were laughing e similar experiences. Whilst the food is lovely - congratulations to the kitchen staff - it is severely let down by the don't give a damn attitude of the waiting staff. They really, really don't care if you have a positive experience or not. Definitely will not return.

Fab lunch out with the family at the newly refurbished Farmhouse Kitchen. Food was great, staff lovely. Makes a nice change to be in a restaurant where the staff are smiling and personable. Dawn in particular was brilliant, really lovely and personable; chatting to the kids as she was clearing tables. All left smiling x

A lovely family meal. We all have carvery and there is just one word for it.. amazing. Nice to find a carvery with new potatoes. Staff very friendly and helpful and Dan was great. Would come back and recommend.

Excellent service from Scott and colleagues, seated an extra guest. Tasty carvery with everything you’d want. Burger was also good. Refill drinks are refreshing and not watered down. Reasonable price. New refurb is nice, enjoy the cartoon food pictures on the wall and bright colours. Would recommend for anyone fancying a bit of pub grub.

Been a few times since they've reopened and the carvery is much better. A member of staff comes up to your table at peak times to let you know when you can head to the carvery so you're not standing in a long queue. They also now do bottomless soft drinks and unlimited tea or coffee. Staff are friendly as always and helpful. Cakes are still as delicious and Noe they do various bakery foods aswell. Overall, would still highly recommend for a carvery or just a sweet treat and a brew.

Went there Sunday with family didn't really want cavalry so I opted for the mix grill. Stay clear Absolutely horrible food sasauges looked and tasted like been recooked rubbery and thinking microwaved chicken / gammon was tasteless and the steak cheap for a reason had a horrible night sleep after eating that feeling sick

I don’t usually write bad reviews, but I feel ripped off here. Popped in for lunch as we were passing by, but wouldn’t go again. We expected similar to the meals we have had at carverys before; standard fare, reasonably priced. Mum’s carvery was warm so by mid meal was cool. No sign of my salad until mum was nearly 1/2 way through her’s. My standard salad (£9.79) which should gave contained quinoa and mixed beans was more or less a plate of lettuce leaves with a few bits of tomato, cucumber and bland vinaigrette dressing. I was told the quinoa and beans were mixed in, but could see none. I was bought a little dish of them, but by that time my mum had given up eating her luke warm carvery and we just wanted to leave. Mum was asked if she wanted it heating up in the microwave??? It’s honestly the worst meal I have ever paid for. I did notice 2 other diners were given free deserts due to their meals being luke warm too. It is a shame as the carvery itself look nice so really something needs to be done about the temperature of food and hot drinks. Also, if customers are paying £10 for a salad they should at least be getting what is described on the menu. Not a place we will be returning to.

Went when the pub first reopened and it was fantastic! Very good dining experience. The last couple of times have been rubbish. Tonight we went for a birthday party. We ordered separately, weren’t made aware of a wait. All the table got their food apart from my daughter who waited over 45 minutes for 5 chicken nuggets, about 6 stale chips and microwaved rice…. The manager made an excuse of there’s a half an hour wait? No sorry, nothing. When trying to speak to one of the staff they blatantly walked past us and ignored us. An apology would go ALONG way.

We came to the pub for breakfast today with friends and our children. Deb and Dan were very welcoming and the atmosphere was lovely. The play area was very clean and the children had a lovely time playing. The food was great and we will be back again soon

Really cocky rude member of staff. (Others were nice) Waited an hour for food between starter and main, and the child with us was the last one to be served out of 15 people. We ordered our food before people who were with us and got served last - my 7 yr old last lut of everyone. She was starving. It was my bday as mentioned when booking and got treated the worst 🤣 food was ok. wouldn't recommend it, just for the rude cocky member of staff. We won't be going again. Bring back applewood farm!

I’ve been going to this restaurant for many years now and recently we visited, after it was renovated. We were very impressed with the new space and especially kids area. It looks amazing and our children had so much fun! Perfect for wet days as they have an indoor play area and food is amazing and super affordable. Staff is very polite, helpful and always make you feel welcomed! We highly recommend it.

We frequent carveries all over the Northwest, on the 11th Nov we went to you Farmhouse Kitchen Worsley. We were impressed by the clean and airy the place was, the staff were all without exception very friendly and attentive. The food was great from the meats to veg and cooked to perfection not always the case at some carveries ,we did tell the young lady to compliment the chef as we both agreed it was the best carvery we'd ever had :-) We have been back since and was not disappointed.

Food was delish, service was very quick. We got 3 Sunday carverys I had a vegetarian version. They even had vegan options and a couple of vege options too. The other 2 girls that came with me had the meat ans siad it was delish and they had plenty. Highly reccomend Gerry was very helpful and friendly while we were there. Lovely staff and nice family atmosphere. We got cake to go because it looked unreal 😍

Fantastic for little kids. The play area is a godsend although it does get quite loud at busy times. Food is hot and fresh, we came for breakfast this visit. Appreciate the unlimited hot drinks when waiting for the kids to finish playing in the softplay too!

Yorkshire pudding was as tough as an old boot, however the roast beef was superb,melted in your mouth, overall a good meal let down by unedible Yorkshire.

Went for a carvery, and was advised that we would be told when it was our time to go up to the carvery.. 30 mins later, still waiting, and had to ask, where it was then obvious we were forgotten about. I totally get the paper free cash free set up, but it needs more service attention.

The staff are always very warm, welcoming and ready to help, they really can’t do enough for you. The food is great value for money especially the breakfast. The restaurant is always clean and tidy.

Came a few Years back and wouldn't rate it. Came today Brilliant entertainment for the kids. And the food was amazing especially the steak. Kids really enjoyed themselves too. All in all would highly recommend, well worth 5 stars

Sorry we've been 5 times 1st when it opened and it was great2nd we had a beef wrap spot on last 3 times were shocking one food was cold 2nd food was under cooked and cold tonight Yorkshire puddings we played bowls with them the beef was full of rat and chewy got told it was the wrong beef well don't sell it then we have given you 3 chances to get it right you can't we won't be back it's a shame because the potential is there just not being used green king sort it out

Absolutely amazing value for money. Went for the weekday set menu; 3 courses for £10.49 (garlic breaded mushrooms, carvery and chocolate brownie dessert). Considering these are for smaller appetites I was absolutely stuffed. Staff were attentive and friendly; especially Mark on the carvery. Really enjoyable visit.

Friendly staff from entering the establishment - carvery was lovely hunters chicken burger was alright chips were rather stale and chicken was more batter than actual chicken. Returning customers and would return again.

It was so lively this early Sunday evening (5pm) that we are so glad to have booked a table. Carvery had queues of about 15 mins or so, but it was well organised, and the customers could wait at their table until they are called for. Food was value for money - inexpensive yet still tasty. We'll go back again.
