If not a regular, can not get served

After driving round looking for a place to grab a bite to eat, we stumbled upon The Moorland. We ordered 5 meals and they were served to us pretty quick considering they were quite busy. Apart from a minor problem with the chips on 1 meal, the food was virtually perfect - that's every meal. We were impressed. Every member of staff we had dealings with were friendly and polite. Thank you for a pleasurable afternoon.

We tried the new menu today and choose the barbacoa steak. It was amazing. The steak was cooked just to my liking and the pulled beef was so full of flavour, I enjoyed every mouthful. I would definitely recommend. I look forward to my next visit

Great food and drink, welcoming staff we love it here. The kids offer is great just £1 a meal when buying aduly meals which we always do, the mega mixed grill is my fav and the mrs has a surf and turf always cooked spot on. Kids love coming here the staff always have a chat with them and theyre really comfortable when we bring them. Cant beat the cocktail deal and Loving the new look inside and out, See you all soon

Place must have changed hands, used to be perfect food and service everytime we visited. Went yesterday food was terrible, overcooked and dry, staff were miserable and unwelcoming, food now over priced for the portion size, waited ages and had to keep going to the bar to ask where drinks and desserts were. Seemed like nobody was interested at all. Wont be going again, if you want a sizzling experience go to the man in space in trentham instead

Should clear the table's quicker

We had a birthday meal here on Saturday for 16 people we had a great time. The food was spot on the staff were fantastic. They managed to put us out of the way a little which was perfect as we had two younger boys with us. Will definitely be retuning thank-you to everyone who made us so welcome.

Good beer and the offer of 2 meals for £11 is great value, I had the fish and chips, with the upgrade of an extra fish for £2.50 which we shared. the meal was piping hot, but as usual in this type of pub, they use frozen chips, which aren't the best

Unlike the Wulstan in Newcastle (same company), this place is like night and day. Really pleasant staff member behind the bar, super friendly and clearly experienced! Served quickly despite the place being packed, manager (presumably the manager) was overseeing the bar customer to make sure everyone was served in order (brill). Food came out quickly, was well cooked, chicken was moist and bacon cooked perfectly. Not a single complaint, well done to all the staff! Will definitely be returning!

We visited today to see the venue since their refurbishment. We ordered a super steak and sizzling tandoori chicken and a side of fries. The steak was ordered as medium rare but came extremely rare. This was very off-putting and spoiled the rest of the meal, which didnt get eaten. The sizzling tandoori chicken came out not sizzling at all. The chicken was just warm in the centre. It was returned to the chef, who responded with "it was cooked" and I was offered a replacement. This came out sizzling, as advertised. However, it was full of chopped up chilli within the grilled vegetables. This was not advertised. It states on the menu tenderstem brocolli, onion and peppers. Unfortunately this didn't get eaten either. The side of fries didnt appear until we asked for them. Neither meal was enjoyed and has unfortunately put us off from visiting again.

The meals and service is really good but unfortunately far to many small children running every where and very noisy there should be an adult only area it put us off some what

The hot food was well presented and of a good standard. Two of us had the cream sundae, both were disappointed as it mainly consisted of cream, it may as well of been called a whipped cream sundae.

Absolutely fantastic the food and service was impeccable would definitely recommend and I would like to give a special mention to our server lilly who was very pleasant and professional

Fish & Chips are delicious, but the sirloin steak was as tuff as old boots, It needed a good battering to make it soft

Service from staff was excellent , thankyou especially to Vanessa and lily for being so welcoming and helpful. Food was served hot , presented well , very good size portions, certainly value for money. Clean , warm and welcoming with a lovely atmosphere, was lovely to see working staff with a smile 😊 . Will definately be back. Those working hard out in the kitchens , Thankyou for our tasty meals , devoured by all !!

Pleasant decor & friendly, helpful staff however we waited over an hour for food and then it came out in phases so some of our group had finished eating before others had their food.

We visited here for a friend's birthday the food was ok but very overpriced for what you get, the staff were terrible and so unprofessional. We had booked a table but on arrival were told there was no table booked, luckily they found us one as I had travelled 50 miles to meet friends, we then had a game of darts but you have to pay a deposit to borrow the darts, we were given a broken dart so we went back to the bar to ask for a replacement only to be told we were responsible for the breakage and wouldn't get our deposit back. I explained we hadn't broken it but the assistant manager accused me and refused to give any replacement or deposit back. Not fair at all when we had spent over £150 on food and drinks between us!

Absolutely great refurbishment and it would seem they are pushing everything to be better . Even though it was busy are food wasn’t delayed and everyone was happy with their choice . My kids have already been back with there mum and we will definitely be going back for tea soon

Food was terrible, had a refund as the chips I was given weren’t cooked, pale white. The burger I had no salad on, chicken was covered in black burnt marks from the grill. Terrible food

I have been going to the moorland since I moved into Burslem and it is great pub to eat at. I must admit there have been times where the food was nicer on my previous trip but other than that Its great. Even when ordering on Uber the food is still lovley.

Best place in the UK I have been to , the food is super and the parking is free and safe !!

surprise Birthday lunch with family, everyone enjoyed their food, all served together, everyone left full and happy, took our own cake, they provided plates and spoons, nothing was too much trouble for them

Really glad I found the Moorland. So much so I host a veterans breakfast club every month.

First visit in many years. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. It had no flavour and was luke warm. I asked the bar staff to take it away, and when they asked if I wanted a replacement, I asked for some chips, I was given the smallest bowl of chips. My son had a burger, which was supposed to come with BBQ sauce. When I asked for this from the waitress, I was told I needed to go to the bar to pay for it. At the bar, I was not charged, but we had to ask again and explain to the waitress to get. A few people with me had the gammon, they said it was chewy and two of them couldn't finish it due to this. The price for a party of 7 seems good value, but for the quality, it is not worth it. I would not return food.

We ordered the sharing plate at just over £11 to start with. This was pretty much bland and tasteless. Everything was a much of a muchness. The garlic mayo was thin and tasted acidic. I then had sausage mash peas and something that is classed as a southern style gravy. The gravy was poured all over the meal rather than being served in a jug to allow you to put your own on. I ate one sausage and a mouthful of mash before having my meal taken away. The gravy was horrendous and tasted like chicken fat and flour with no seasoning and was thick as wallpaper paste. I was not offered an alternative or replacement and so sat looking on whilst my husband ate his steak which if you like steak was cooked as he asked for although the peppercorn sauce was more cream than peppercorn. Very very disappointed

Been here before as it's local. I don't like leaving negative reviews because I believe people always try to work hard to give you the best experience they can. I dined here yesterday spent about £30 on food and drink, the food came to us in a reasonable time, however there were a lot of flies we kept trying to fend off while we eating. The burger my mum had was dry she said. I had a grill which I really enjoyed, but half an hour after I got in gave me diarrhea. Such a shame, however don't be put off by my review go and try for yourself, I may of just been unlucky and the staff were welcoming.

Brilliant atmosphere. We stud outside in the sun. I didn't eat. But I've ate there before and it's was good. But it was about 7 years ago. But the place was packed out. So the food must be good to have all tables full and eating.

Once again fabulous food. I had the new Gyros and it took me right back to my recent trip to Santorini! Daughter in law had Chicken burger and really enjoyed it. And she topped it off with a fabulous dessert! Chocolate fudge cake and custard. Will definitely return! Thank you

We went here for some food and ordered the hunters chicken with salad. The salad was old and brown in places, and the chicken was dry when it should have been covered in bbq sauce? Looking around seeing every other sauce bar bbq, went to the bar to ask for some and was told I needed to pay for it despite ordering hunters chicken and there being not enough sauce and despite there been all other sauces available for free? This resulted in us not enjoying the meal as it was really dry.

Booked a table for 2 for a meal and drinks, on arrival we were told that we had a table right by a brick pillar in direct line with the door which was open and the draught was awful. I had to ask for the table to be cleaned as it was filthy, there was no menus and everything on the table felt sticky so we walked out never to return. It seems that every time we book a table for 2 we are shoved in a corner, not acceptable.

It was a lovely hot day so after finishing a long day a cold beer outside did the job. Feel they could do more with the outside space they have.
