Brilliant evening with friends and Derek was an absolute star! We were seated immediately on our arrival and our drinks order was taken quickly and arrived quickly. The food came at a suitable speed and everything we had was excellent. However the best part of the evening was Derek who looked after us brilliantly. So we will definitely go back! Thank you Derek.

This family run Italian resturaunt is our favourite place to eat. The food is home prepared and cooked fresh and brought to your table hot. They use locally sourced quality ingrediants and although there may be a bit of a delay in your food brought to your table as it,s cooked just for you, it,s well worth it. It has a cosy and friendly ambience with a good selection of drinks. Everybody is warmly greeted and make you feel very welcome. They have a large quantity of regular return customers, and that speaks volumes. As for the prices, they are one of the lowest in the area, and excellent value for money. Dont drive past it... stop and make a booking - you wont regret it.

Been here in a number of occasions with no complaints but our last visit to this place will be our last. We were completely ignored Empty plates left on the table for 15 minutes never offered a the sweet menu. Only 2 other tables were in use. Were made to feel as if we were not welcome . As for the food it's nice but not very Italian

We visited here in a whim as the last time we had been must have been 20 years ago! We were really pleased, it's a little place, very traditionally decorated. Nothing fancy, more like a trattoria feel. The food was really good quality. My husband had garlic mushrooms to start and spaghetti carbonara. He was pleased with his choices. I had lasagne - it was delicious! The waitress was really attentive and friendly. The food is reasonably priced as well. So, good quality food, friendly service, value for money. Overall I would definitely return.

I had passed this un-prepossessing Italian restaurant many times. The frontage hides the wonderful interior. There is aTardis-effect as you realise just how big the inside is. Every attempt has been made to produce an authentic Italian feel to the place. Food was great. Staff were lovely. We'll definitely be returning for the August birthday bash - sooner if I get my way. . .

There were 2 other tables in and we were the only ones waiting for food. We waited 35 minutes for 2 pizzas. 35 minutes with NO other customers to serve, and the food didn't justify the wait. We could also hear the staff in the kitchen making rude comments when the waitress was chasing up our food. It's completely put us off visiting again. Poor customer service is a deal breaker.

Was looking forward to trying this restaurant but left very disappointed. The food was not good quality the mince in the lasagne and spag bol seemed very cheap. Lasagne wasn't fresh it was defrosted in microwave and then into the oven. I think this happens with a lot of dishes as I heard the microwave a lot. Menu didn't have much choice. The girls that worked there were polite though.

My husband and I frequently dine at La Favorotta and strongly recommend it. We have been eating there for over 18 years and have never had a bad meal. There is always a slight wait for your meal, but that is because it is being freshly cooked and arrives at your table piping hot. You can rest assured that your meal has not been standing and falsely kept warm. If you want a steak, you will not get a better filet steak anywhere else in Stoke on Trent. It is locally sourced and as for the price, a filet steak meal for under £18 is excellent value for money. The resturaunt is a small family run cozy and relaxing establishment with friendly staff suitable for that romantic night out or larger parties. There are other Italian restaurants in the area, but non offer the same excellent value for money dining experience. We can not praise it high enough. Go and try it for yourself, you won't regret it, and you - like my husband and I will go back time and time again.

Ok this review is LONG overdue... I have been eating out here for atleast 15 years. I have never been dissappointed. I have worked my way through 90% of the menu. The only thing I have not had is fish.. Just not my thing. love the pizza!! The steak is great, and the pasta is always spot on. The tiramasu is FANTASTIC and (contrary to other reviews) I know with 100% certainty that it is home made!! All the food is prepared fresh and cooked to order.I have eaten at all of the other Italian restaurants in Stoke, and my opinion is that this one is consistently the best. For me it's personal, authentic, friendly, and has a great atmosphere. As long as La Favourita opens its doors I will visit and enjoy excellent authentic Italian food.

Visited as part of a birthday celebrations as a group of 6 plus 2 kids. There was only one other table occupied throughout so not much atmosphere. Despite being apparently quiet the service was extremely slow. We had an early table booked due to having the kids with us and it was after 9 when we finally managed to escape. The food was completely underwhelming. Certainly not worth the wait and would not go back. I can make better pizza at home.

I have ordered steaks in many places but none ever seem to match up to the quality of the ingredients and the perfect cooking. Every time! The drinks are very reasonably priced and we love the wine served in carafes as it enhances the flavour very well. The chefs, Mark and Karen, are superb at what they do. Our waitresses are extremely attentive and very customer focused. We love this restaurant. None compares. The only complaint I would have is that they don't open for lunch! We would recommend the garlic mushrooms, the asparagus, steak (cooked medium rare) with garlic, the cannelloni and the lasagne. The garlic bread is superb too!

The prices were very reasonable, starters, main, dessert and 2 drinks for 4 people, plus garlic bread came to £95, that's just over £20 each!OK, the place looks like what people in the 1970's thought an Italian restaurant should look like, and you have to park in a side street, but putting that aside, if you just want good Italian food, give it a try, we will definitely go back.

A group of 10 of us met up here for a meal and a catch up. Parking was easy, either on the road outside, or, like us you could be a bit cheeky and use Asda car park about 200 yards up the road. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The waitresses were efficient and friendly. Several items on the menu were not available, but we were told as the menus were handed out. We all had various starters and main courses, which were delivered to the table promptly and piping hot. I don't think it's the type of establishment I would visit for a 'special' meal, but I would certainly go again for lovely, freshly prepared food if I was dining casually. We thought our food was very good value for money.

Had a lovely meal here last weekend. Meatballs, stuffed mushrooms with prawns and garlic bread with cheese for starters. They were delicious! For main course we had steak chasseur which was cooked perfectly (medium) the sauce was devine, a red wine and tomato based sauce with mushrooms and onions with homemade chips and salad. Which was dry but the waitress offered a balsamic dressing. My partner had calzone, stuffed with chicken, again it was lovely and cooked perfectly. Desserts were great, obviously not home made, other than the tirimisu which was the best homemade tirimisu i have tasted! the staff were very friendly and polite, they could answer our questions efficiently and appeared to know the products on the menu.

All the times I've drive past it I've always thought how does it keep going and it doesn't look good from the outside. However after hearing reviews about the place I decided to give it a try and was very pleasantly suprised. When you get inside its decorated as if your sitting in an Italian street it looks great! Then there's the food, there's a good choice I had pollo supresa and my girlfriend had pollo suprema, both were outstanding! The prices are fair, most Italians are expensive, this one is average price, our meals were 11 each. Pasta and lasagnes are cheaper than that. Visited for Valentine Day dinner. Nice enough little restaurant although blocking the glass in the door to the toilets would be an idea. Three waitresses pleasant and polite but no sign of any Italians either in the eating area or, unfortunately, the kitchen. Starters, garlic mushrooms and prawn cocktail both with a dry salad with no dressing almost certainly not freshly cooked and just heated up. Likewise the main courses, Spag Bog and Carbanora, no flavour, luke warm and stogey. Dessert OK but nothing to write home about. Finished with lukewarm, weak coffee which we asked to be replaced. Came back 10 minutes later having been, I suspect, in the microwave. Winelist rather limited, ordered Frascati from the list but they didn't have any. The waitress didn't know anything about the other names on the list so settled for a bottle of Blossom Hill at 12 quid! At £7odd for mains I guess you get what you pay for but we would have preferred authentic and hot tasty food and paid the appropriate amount. Great pity really because this could be a great little restaurant - first step get an Italian chef :)

we went with some friends on a saturday night. The inside of the resturant is really nice and cosy but thats really where the positives end. I am not a fussy eater and didn't go here expecting outstanding food but just some nice comforting/authentic Italian food, this isn't what we recieved. To start with they have an open kitchen so you can see the chefs at work, normally this is great but not so good when its a young chef in his own scruffy clothes standing doing not much at all. We ordered starters, 2 meatballs a cheesy garlic bread and a mushroom and prawn starter, the meatballs were great but they mushrooms were tasteless swimming in a watery edible sauce. The garlic bread was nice but the problem was the same person had ordered a margarita pizza and this was basically what the garlic bread was, so she had pizza for starter and main and the waitress didn't think to explain that it was the same thing. Mains arrived, a salmon pasta that was pretty good, generous portion of fish although the pasta had a strange texture asif it had been precooked. 2 pizzas were ordered and they were nothing special and finally the veal dish, my partner said it was awful, over cooked and chewy with overcooked caluliflower and carrots, he didnt enjoy this at all and he was offered a refund on his meal. we chose not to have dessert and asked for the bill. Such a shame as i have heard great reviews in the past.

Visiting industrial suburbia of Stoke. Restaurant on road with car dealership, industrial building not very charming. But if you stop by, once entered La Favorita,, you are in very homely friendly italian restaurant. Starters, pasta, secondi all done very pleasant way. Friendly unobtrusive service. Nice wine. If you get hungry in this not very touristy place, you will be surprised and delighted.J

We visited the La Favorita for the first time a couple of months back. We had not booked a table and we had arrived at around 8 o clock which was a bit late. They were very busy but still did not turn us away. They were very accommodating and showed us to our table. The waitress was very quick at getting our drinks and providing us our menus. We did not wait that long for our meals. I was extremely impressed with the food the starters were excellent and the steak was cooked to perfection and was by far the best steak I had had in a long time. The meals were excellent value for money and everything was freshly made/cooked. I must say that my favorite dish was the desert. I ordered the Tiramisu which was exquisite. The portion was large and the best I have ever had. Will be returning very soon. I would definitely recommend to all my family, friends and colleagues.

I have not written on here before but after the horrid meal we ate last Sunday I wanted to save people spending their money. my meal was average but my partner ordered meatballs and a bolognaise sauce. The meatballs were on the specials board. To say that they were the cheap balls already cooked from aldi would mean that they were nice. The food was microwaved. The sauce seemed like it was out of a tin. There was certainly no smells of cooking and no sound of it! It was tasteless. possibly the worse Italian meal I have ever eaten. The tomato garlic bread was fried pizza bread with sweet tomato puree on. very disappointed. will not be going back!

I Took two of my friends to this restaurant last night, Wednesday the 26th February and found the place to be the most friendliest of places to eat in. Karen the owner, welcomed us as if she had known us for years and the service and food throughout the evening was also up to very high standard. I would recommend this place to anybody that wants value for money great food and friendly atmosphere. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

Having read some of the reviews on here I was a little apprehensive about our visit, but we were booked to go as a party of 4 so thought id give it a whirl. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a hello and shown to our table. We ordered our drinks which were served promptly. We had a little wait for our starters, about 10 minutes, which I don't mind as it assures me that It was freshly cooked, they came to our table piping hot and delicious. I had spinach and egg which was lovely. Main course was equally as nice with all 2 of the party ordering steak and 2 ordering a pasta dish. we didn't have to wait long for these to be served. we had a side order of chips which you could tell were freshly cooked. Throughout the meal the waiting on staff were friendly and helpful, explaining what the dishes were. I felt they had a vast knowledge about the menu and which is reassuring. We didn't feel rushed to finish and get out of the restaurant. Although we were already full we had a pudding and it was just as nice as the meal had been, I had the tiramisu which I could tell was homemade. We will be returning to la favorita real soon and I would recommend that anyone try it for themselves.

This has got to be the worse restaurant i have ever been to and believe me i've been a few. I do not believe for one minute that the other reviews that favour this place are from genuine customers or are true. They have been made up!!!!I only went because a family friend had invited me along. The service is poor and the food even worse. We had to wait an hour for the starters. (when ever we complained they offered no sincere apology but a pathetic excuse that they were busy) In fact they were quite rude and made us feel like we were burdening them. I had ordered fillet steak for my main course.. when i received it it looked like it had been warmed up from someone else's left overs. It was in 2 little pieces. My salad had no dressing on it and the chips had been re-fried. All our food was of poor standard. We asked to see the chef but he refused to come to our table. The atmosphere was poor and the decor is shoddy, still in the 70's!!!! There was dirt and dust everywhere. The place looked like it hadn't seen a duster or vacuum for months. They clearly don't know how to cook or look after customers. Gordon Ramzey would have a field day with this place. I've watched every single episode of "Kitchen Nightmares" and all of them are the Ritz compared to this place. Avoid at all costs!!! they do not deserve to be called a restaurant.

We had to wait 45 minutes for starters, mussels and breaded mushrooms. The mussels were nice once they came but but the breaded mushrooms were very average. My partner and I both had the Calzone, I had the chicken one, it tasted like it was out of the freezers from Tesco. It was very bland and my girlfriends was burnt on the base. The salad tasted like it had come out of a bag from Tesco and had no dressing on it.We complained about the calzones and they gave us £4 off the bill which is roughly 9% of the bill.when we were paying the bill we saw the kitchen putting out a side salad and it was in fact a bag of salad that you would buy in a supermarket. We were there for over 2 hours and all we had was mussels, breaded mushrooms and two folded pizza's.

My mum first brought me here, I would be around 15. From then on I have always eaten here, I'm 29 now. My fiancé and I have been together for 5 years, this was our first date!! Don't get me wrong we have been to other Italians for food but I always love to come back for a meal here as it's where we fell in love. In fact my fella rang me up yesterday and told me book a table. This place really is underestimated and don't let some of the remarks put you off!!!!

La Favorita looks a lovely place ... but...It has a 'typical Sicilian' ambience and is nicely nook & crannies in the way the tables are dispersed. A 'family' style restaurant, with reasonable prices.Because it is outside the main city, it also attracts a nicely local clientele (but not an Italian one).Trouble is that the food is for people who don't care for food. Quite honestly, it could have come from Tesco's. Edible but completely forgettable.

We visited here on a Saturday night in March. We found the food OK but nothing special. Neither main dish was particularly warm and the spaghetti bolognaise was watery (the pasta had not been drained properly). Food and wine were reasonably priced and the customer service was fine.

I love this place and so does my family. My partner often goes to Italy on business and when I first intorduced him to this little gem he said how traditional it was. I have never had a bad meal her, the staff are the friendliest I have ever met. The are very accommodating and make sure that you have everything you need. I also love that they do take always. Their standards do drop here either the food is always hot freshly made and tastes amazing. I will not eat at any of the other Italian Resturants in the area as they can not offer anything like this place can. It's like home from home.

We have been going to La Favorita for many years and really much praise it. We are always warmly greeted by Karen, Mark and the staff and it is like going to see familly. The food is excellent and always arrives at your table hot and freshly cooked. It is nice not to have food that has been standing and is luke warm. The resuraunt is clean, comfy and intimate and really is a lovley place to eat. We have been as a couple and also with familly on many occasions and we can not fault it in anyway shape or form. The prices are really good, there is always plenty on your plate and the service is faultless. A lot of their customers appear to be regulars, and I think that speaks volumes. It is definatley our favourite place to eat and will continue to go there regularly. I really can not sing the praises high enough and will always strongly reccomend it, and I cant wait for our next delicious meal there.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.Oh, I must add..................... It was my 50th Birthday in May and I desperatly wanted to go there for a meal, however they were closed on that particular night, so my husband and I went a few days earlier. At the end of the meal Karen the owner came out and gave me a bottle of wine as a present. I thought it was a really lovley touch and was very grateful. On another occasion, my husband and I had been for a lovley meal as per normal and paid and left. The next time that we went, Karen came and gave us some money?? we were quite suprised and asked what it was for, and she explained that the last time we went, we had overpaid. Now in my book - that is what you call honesty as we never noticed any over payment. Please do go and visit this lovley resuraunt - you wont be disapointed.

Staff were friendly but not very knowledgeable about the food or wines. Was disappointed desserts were not home made, we had starters and mains, to be honest i could have made a better job myself, felt as though they were put together by an in experienced chef. My visit was a while ago so maybe there have been some improvements since then......

Me and my husband had passed this little Italian restaurant quite a few times and always said "We'll go there one night"Well we ended up going one Wednesday night and we were not disappointed :)The waitress and chef were lovely people, really friendly and helpful. The food is very reasonably priced for what you get. My husband had one of the specials for starters - smokies, which is one of his favourites and said it was really lovely. Mains, my husband had calzone and I had chicken stuffed with ham and asparagus in a cream and white wine sauce with chips and salad. Both absolutely delicious :) chicken was cooked perfectly, only wish it had more ham and asparagus inside! Chips were lovely and so was the salad.I had a pudding, cannot remember what it was called but it was vanilla and chocolate ice cream encased in cocoa and hazelnut with cream and chocolate sauce on the side. Really enjoyed this, the ice cream was very creamy and sweet.Husband had a glass of the house red wine and said it was really nice. I only had fizzy water being 38 weeks pregnant :)I think all this cost us £36 - one starter, two mains, one pudding, 2 bottles of fizzy water and one glass of red wine.We very much enjoyed it and cant wait to go again.

Desperate to find a decent Italian restaurant in Stoke we decided to give this a try. First impressions were that it was quite nicely done inside though tables are quite small and snuggly positioned around the restaurant so very close to your neighbouring diners. Waitresses were very pleasant and service was good. Starters looked nicely presented but mussels and prawns quite tasteless. Onto the mains - well here's where it really went downhill, I ordered the chicken cattiatore - chicken was dry and overcooked, frozen vegetables and the chips were absolutely awful thin strips of dark brown fat is the only way to describe them. One in our party had saute potatoes and they were as bad. Desserts were good and nicely presented. Wine was reasonably priced. All in all very, disappointing we will not be returning.

The restaurant was cold, the fire was ineffective and on one of the coldest days of the year the radiators were off and very cold to the touch indicating they had not been on at all during the day . We moved our table closer to the fire but I had to keep my coat on as I ate. I have never had to do that in a restaurant. Despite us being the only customers there, we were placed in the large main dining room, not the snug, which had its own log burner and would have been warmer. The waiter became defensive when we complained despite our comments being about the restaurant, not about him. He admitted he was also cold and as an explanation offered up that it was ‘particularly cold today’. Surely a reason to have the heating on not off. He also bizarrely stated that the place was warmer when there were ‘more people in’ .When we were the only two people there the comment seemed a bit irrelevant. Sadly the restaurant looked run down with peeling paint and damp. None of this would have particularly mattered if the place had been warm. I wondered why they bothered opening on a Thursday lunchtime if we were the only customers. If they can’t afford day time heating then it’s probably time for a rethink. The prices on the menu were lower than what we were charged. They mixed up the fixed menu prices with the a la Carte prices. Even when I raised the issue and said we should be paying for 2 Fixed menu prices of £24, they charged us £49.90. We had the set menu and I was asked what sauce I wanted with my steak. I was amazed to be charged extra for it on the bill as I assumed it was included in the set dish. I was not told it was an extra which I find misleading. We ordered a glass of wine, the waiter didn’t ask whether we wanted large or small so I assumed it was a standard glass so it was annoying to find we had been charged for a large glass when we hadn’t asked for it. I would normally expect the serving staff to ask large or small if there is actually a choice not just to make that choice for the diner. The more cynical may wonder if this is a ploy to make more money out of customers? Watch out for this as the waiter did not make it clear that we were purchasing extras with the food or that the practice appears to be to automatically supply large glasses of wine if you don’t specify otherwise. In summary the food was ok but I couldn’t recommend this place unless you were booking in the middle of a heat wave.

We've been to this restaurant a few times over the years but it was horrendous tonight. We've had a few minor issues before but never this bad. No sugar free drink options for my sister, undercooked food and one plate arrived with a hair in it. When we asked to speak to the owner she was rude and denied that food had even been sent back accusing all 13 of us of lying. We explained we weren't expecting money off or a refund we just wanted to highlight the issues and she still insisted we were lying. Don't bother going. Ruined our one family Christmas meal out.
