Roberto's Pizza House in Stoke-on-Trent

Great food, great staff. Highly recommended. Edit 06/06/25 - first visit to the "new" Roberto's since their move from their previous home of 40+ years. The food is still great, and they have done a really good job with the new premises. I would recommend booking a table in advance if possible.

The food is outstanding! As is the service, first time going since they moved locations but I have to say it’s the best Italian food I have ever had. I can’t wait to go again!!!

The food was lovely but we did unfortunately wait an hour for it to come out.. The waiter us give us 10% off for the inconvenience though. It was busy but we booked ahead (2 weeks ahead) so didn't expect the long wait for food.

Our favourite restaurant. Been coming here since we discovered it about 4 years ago, and always come here whenever we have a child free night. The food is sensational, the atmosphere is superb, it is an incredibly charming place. The staff above all else are brilliant, very friendly and knowledgeable. Speaking to one of the lads just before moving premises, and it was great to see how passionate and excited he was for the new challenge. They are truly passionate about serving great food and creating a brilliant atmosphere, and they do it everytime. The food is outstanding and we have been blown away every time in 20 plus visits. The old place had an incredible charm to it, wasn’t particularly trendy or flashy; but first class service and 5 star food was always received. We’ve had a look through the window of the new premises and they have done really good job, and it looks to have retained its charm. We will be going next week and we really can’t wait. Thank you for everything you do and really hope everything goes well with the new restaurant, we have no doubt it will be just as successful.

Enjoyed it here decent food and drink at not too bad prices. Great place to go before a show at either the Regent or Victoria Hall. Nice friendly staff.

Used to eat here all the time many years ago, and was THE Best! Takeaway/ delivery tonight. SO disappointing. Ordered the Quatro Formaggio pasta. May have been my mistake, but was expecting tortellini/ ravioli type pasta? Received overcooked penne pasta, with an insipid, insufficient quantity of sauce? Very watery and bland. Ordered the olives stuffed with pork and beef in breadcrumbs. Tasteless and obviously bought in pre prepared/ in bulk? The garlic bread was an absolute joke! A cheap sub roll bought in with commercially prepared garlic butter, ( bright yellow, ridiculously salty , burnt on one side, untoasted on the other. Plus points, fairly cheap, delivered early and everything was hot on arrival. Sorry Roberto's, you need to up your game. There are far better pasta etc restaurants delivering locally, which may be more expensive but much better quality than what we received tonight.

I took my wife out for her birthday and had a three course meal at Roberto's. The food tasted home made and was delicious, the house wine was excellent and the service outstanding. And for both of us, 3 courses, a drink each it came to £63 - outstanding value! These kind of places are becoming rarer, being replaced with branded high street restaurants and its not for the better. Support your local restaurants! They deserve to be popular, and well loved.

Absolute amazing food amazing staff would recommend Roberto’s to anybody, family oriented always going that extra mile to ensure you have the best experience, the new premises are even better an excellent set up, it’s a credit to the whole team, and massive compliments to the chef he never fails to deliver excellent dishes, My family’s number one favourite go to place every day of the week.

Half of the waitresses wondering around apparently aren’t allowed to take your food order and then 2 mains took 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive including a “veal” which was nothing more than a cheap cut of tough steak.

Went for a pre-theatre meal, it was very busy but staff were still very friendly and attentive. Food was beautiful as always!

Ordered two pizzas and what a letdown! They were tiny and lighter than the 12" box they came in barely enough to call a meal. And the prosciutto pizza? More like ham surprise. Absolutely disgusting! Plus, the dough wasn't even fresh clearly frozen. You can taste the disappointment in every bite. Ended up throwing it in the bin couldn't even eat it. Order never refunded as owner suggest. Cannot trust such individuals. THIS IS WHAT YOU GET ON 40% OFF DEAL.

We were left disappointed by a different takeaway but went 4* again and they delivered . Lovely lady had been right on time and pizza was still crispy and fresh

Food tasted okay, however lasagne portion was small and a tad on the runny side, had to eat again after finishing both my lasagne and keylime pie. Really tasty just a tad on the smaller side

Second time when i order as first time was perfect but now unfortunately not that great. Pizza was ok, pasta was delicious but the risotto well if you send it like that to other people you might need to send it with dental insurance plan as well. I understand that risotto needs to be al dente but this time was undercooked badly… really sorry but not great at all

A fantastic authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent's City Centre. Somewhere I've visited many times over the years and it never disappoints. We're lucky to have such a brilliant restaurant locally.

We both had the calamari starter with garlic mayo and then seafood Mariana and seafood risotto Absolutely gorgeous! I never want to eat anywhere else

One of the best restaurants to be found in the area. With an interesting history that adorns the walls really gives the restaurant something other places don't have. The food is fantastic and has never disappointed. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for good food in a nice atmosphere. The staff are always lovely and accommodating.

I'm a pasta lover and it's been a while since I've had really good Italian food. We went here and it was quite busy but the good was amazing. The mains were delicious and all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I do recommend booking ahead of time. We will definitely be back again.

This is not the first time I dine in there. The food and environment are excellent. Just one suggestion - - please add Coca-Cola original to the drink list

We just love Roberto's and make frequent visits there - but it's a whil since I did a review. Normally we visit pre-theatre so we are under a little time pressure. On this last visit, we made an evening of it and took our time. The atmoshere is small but cosy and the staff are very friendly. The cooking is authentically Italian and there is something on the menu for everyone. This time, I started with the stuffed deep-fried olives (different and interesting) and followed up with the Pollo Gorgonzola. Washed down with a very soft bottle of Valpolicella. A lovely evening.

Really good food. Super hot and filling. If I had one critique, it would be that the risotto could do with a little more flavour, something to make it more dynamic. Still yummy, though.

Spaghetti and meatballs was so goooood 😋 i wouldnt recommend the cheese salad, it was all lettuce and red onion and a few shavings of cheese, plain with no dressing or oil extremely over priced. But, the mains are always spot on, so will 💯 be back!

This place is SPECIAL! I have eaten in hundreds of places and loads of Italians… even in Italy… so I like to think I know what is authentic and really good food and drink. Robertos is worth travelling from london for, just for a meal! Not even joking. Superior place. Homecooked, first class cuisine and fabulous service from staff who really care. Great prices and a beautiful vibe and atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back and visit!

The prawn and mushroom starter was out of this world, best we ever had!! and the cannelloni was spot on too!!! by far the best Italian in the area! would highly recommend 👌

Terrible service, long wait for the food. The food was very bland and tasteless, like it came out of a tin. In the passed I had many a good meal at Roberto's but the service and food have gone down hill. I will never go to Roberto's again.

Easily the best Italian I’ve been to. Best pizza anywhere. Last night I had the non Italian buffalo wings as a starter and guess what? Equally the best I’ve had. Equal only to the elephant and castle in Calgary. Love the atmosphere in this place and the food is incredible. Can’t recommend it enough.

Lovely staff and very professional. You can see into the kitchen whilst your food is cooked which was very interesting. Vibes 10/10. The wine is even better. Lasagne and carbonara were amazing.

Just beautiful food. I had the chicken in white wine with mushrooms, just lovely. They are really attentive with requests too. My nan had the haddock and said it was beautiful. My partner had one of the veggie pasta dishes and finished the lot ♥️

Have always enjoyed in the past. Visited with friends last night and was a little disappointed. I ordered sea bass which I couldn’t taste as there was too much dressing on top and very salty. Husband had calzone which he said was dry. Long wait for us all even though it was not busy and despite requests to switch the music down we had to shout to hold a conversation. Bright lights above us which didn’t help the ambiance. Maybe just not the right night to visit but not sure we’ll be rushing back.

Went for lunch, family of 4, 4 lovely tasty pizzas 🍕. What a breath of fresh air compared with the formulaic Italian branded restaurants. We didn't realise that we walked in just as they were about to close after lunch. But to their credit they delayed their lunch break to serve us. A***

Popped in with the family for 4 large pizzas, amazing food in a lovely old school Italian restaurant. Safe to say we tucked all the pizzas away!

Hate to recommend Roberto's really, as I don't want other people to know about it. 2nd visit again the food was excellent. Amazing staff, so friendly. If you are in stoke pay this place visit. If you are going pre-theatre, book, or you won't get in.
