The whole place needs a revamp. The decor is old and kind of grimy. The last time I went, my coffee was burnt, and my cake was still frozen. The lady who served me was really nice, though. The time before the staff were nice, but I think they forgot I was in there as they were watching videos on their phones and talking really loudly behind the counter. I'm all for staff having a chat and being relaxed at work, but some of the language they were using was a little unprofessional. It's not my first choice for coffee in Hanley if I want to sit in.

Great service and the best High Street coffee. Rachel is always really pleasant and makes the effort with my little boy.

A very pleasant coffee house. Great staff who I found to be helpful and friendly. The only reason I've not given five stars is because if you sit inside near the entrance you can smell the cigarette smoke from the customers drinking on the seated area outside.

Go in here on weekly basis but always take away decided to sit in this time. Ask to use the toilets staff never mentioned I needed a key, so had to go back to the counter to ask for the key. When I unlocked the toilet it was awful. Also coffee cup was only filled three quarters no sure why..must been multifunction with the coffee machine🤷‍♀️ who knows..mystery

Used to enjoy coffee at other big brands but since I had my first experience at one of cafe Nero in Manchester, I start loving cafe Nero and whenever I go to Manchester I have my coffee and the taste is always same but here even the same barista making the same coffee with different and a bit low quality taste thats maybe because of rush or talking to each other about their daily life as I noticed.

As a regular customer of Caffe Nero, I was deeply disappointed by my recent visit. Upon entering, instead of being greeted with a warm welcome, I was met with an announcement that the shop would be closing in 20 minutes. Not only was I taken aback by the abruptness of this statement, but I also felt unwelcome and in the way. From my point of view, a simple greeting and acknowelegment of my presence would have made all the difference, instead I was left feeling like an inconvenicence rather than a valued customer, while I understand the necessity of closing procedures, it's crucial for businesses to prioritse customer experience even during the final moments of operation. As someone who appreciaes the ambiance and quality of Caffe Nero this expereince left a sour taste in my mouth, I hope that in the future the staff will prioritise hospitality and ensure that every customer feels welcomed and valued, regardless of the time.

Very friendly staff and attentive

Awful ambiance. Unfriendly woman/person owner/manager sat near the doors who seemed to know lots ppl coming in and out so was not very nice to new ppl like myself. I had a pram and baby which seemed to be an inconvenience for her. Told by her that ppl were sat on some chairs whilst there was no One sat there, exactly where she wanted us to sit i hVe no idea as upstairs was all cordoned off. Again I wouldn’t be able to take pram anyway. Lady serving at till was lovely and friendly. Food from the fridge was ok but the cakes were disgusting kept in a not so fresh way full of condensation and weird taste. I only went here for the first and last time as I love the cafe Nero in Manchester but this was an awful experience and bad example of cafe Nero.

accidentally spilt my whole cup of mocha and the lady remade us two cups. Really moved since we remember last time when she mistakenly made a hot latte (I ordered ice), we got two extra cups in the end too🥰 I love the place and everything is just right and comfortable!

The Luxury Mocha and Luxury White Chocolate Mocha are splendid without fail. Also tried the carrot cake and the chocolate caramel cheese cake which were both great as well. High quality ingredients! The tiramisu was pretty disappointing though. Too dry and lacking in flavor for my palate. Cheers to the lovely staff though :)

Strangest Cafe Nero I have ever been to!! 2 women working there today (14th December 23) and they didn’t seem to know what they were doing at all. Me and my friend ordered Hot Chocolates and asked for with Cream and they came without, then when we said they forgot the cream they attempted to put it on an already now full hot chocolate mug which then ended up looking nothing like a hot chocolate with whipped cream 😅 then they didn’t give us any spoons so had to go back up and ask. They seemed to be very giggly and were not acting very professional, there were also very strange customers in that didn’t seem to order anything and were just having free water. Very odd place felt like everyone was high or something. Won’t be returning anytime soon.

Some of the treats are good, everything else sucks. Every single employee I've encountered here has had terrible customer service, the interior is always dirty, homeless are always hanging around outside, the prices are way too expensive, and the vibes are just OFF. The Costa down the street in the shopping centre is better in every way - just go there instead.

Well what can I say customer service is a joke When a customer comes in when u first open for coffee and there say to u it’s not on yet so then u buy a cold drink I already had a coffee from greggs that I got an hour early The person that works there came to me and said u can’t drink that in here but I already bought a cold drink but also told me that coffee machine wasn’t working so angry basically trying to kick me out of the cafe I have been a manager in restaurants for 30 years and the customer service in here Well there need more training in this Not very good at all

Lovely and quiet coffee shop that has a great selection of high quality food and drinks. There's also an upstairs level which has wonderful decor and the staff are always friendly 🙂 this is my favourite place in the town centre!

Drinks were half decent price and very good quality. One staff member was very friendly the other not so much. It was quite busy and the other that wasn't as friendly seemed to be the only one behind the counter working for the first hour or so we were there. Definitely understaffed even for a Sunday.

A Caffe Nero in a nice location. The team, especially the leader, struggle to conduct themselves properly. The team leader was being loudly rude to her staff in front of customers, and her attitude looks to have rubbed off onto her employees.

My favourite coffee shop in Hanley, always clean, service is excellent and it just feels nice and relaxing.

Drink was good, but staff don't know what kind of coffee they selling. And also girl with I speak wasn't really friendly.

I visited this shop yesterday for a quick coffee after work they looked very stressed out the trainee barista was getting shouted at in front of customers me myself as a previous manager in a coffee shop found this disgusting as they all started at the bottom and was no need to be rude to the poor girl found this very rude as the girl that was serving had a face like thunder I get that it’s stressful I’ve been there maybe she should look elsewhere

Myself and my partner went to this Cafe Nero today. We love the drinks here. However, the two members of staff were extremely rude. I felt rushed and uninvited. They questioned my order and consistently replied back to me with a bad tone. I will be going to the Newcastle store instead from now on, members of staff there are much more friendly.

I came in with my friend to get coffee. They were friendly and welcoming which is important especially at a chain coffee shop... I had been put off caffe Nero for years because of a few bad experiences at another branch so it was nice to feel feel valued as a customer. I had an extra hot pistachio latte which was delicious 😋

Wife and daughter were queuing in the potteries centre so came to neros for a coffee and cake as much quieter than other places. Service at the counter was quick and efficient, and no queue with a few customers. However this cafe like other chain cafes seems to suffer the same issue where clearing of tables is not a priority. In fact I cleared the previous occupants used dishes and I was not the only one that did this.

Just visited today I was first to be served I asked for almond croissant , then I waited for the coffee to be ready , another guy came in they gave the croissant to him and I asked them I was here first it should be first come first served They absolutely let me down and it was the only croissant 🥐 left Avoid the then will never recommend them useless staff

We like to go to Caffè Nero we have been going there for years but this lady behind the counter is very rude She did the wrong drink, and when we ask her, she said if you don’t like go somewhere else shame she is got bad attitude

First time since the pandemic we visited Caffe Nero and came away disappointed. The previous visits -- no issues to report. Yesterday: how is it possible to brew coffee that tastes burnt, acrid and with an unpleasant after-flavour? We both didn't finish it. And still the company does not sell gluten-free food other than sickly sweet pre-packed bars. It's not rocket science to sell decent GF food. Probably won't visit again, least not in 2022.

Best coffe I had in Hanley to be honest so far, always I choose double espresso has a rich flavour and not over burned as many leave it to much which alter the taste! I love this place as it is always cleaned. And staff is friendly and always smiling, even if your day was bad, it will cheer you up. Good job Nero Caffe!

Called in for a coffee and hot chocolate, quickly served by efficient friendly staff. Drinks were lovely, only minus is I felt staff hovering to take our tray and mugs before we were finished. The place was empty so I think they were looking for something to do

This café is always clean and the staff are always friendly and professional. I just witnessed an extremely rude family treat the staff abusively and the staff were professional and kind with them regardless. I would not have held my temper like these girls did! They are a credit to the brand and one of the reasons I always return here rather than other branded chains. I highly recommend the iced latte with vanilla syrup, the perfect treat on a hot day!

I love an Americano, so thought I'd pop in. Really nice staff - great service. Great coffee too. My only gripe, and this is a biggie for me - the medium size cups: what's with the tiny, tiny handles? I've got normal size hands and I couldn't grip it without the cup tipping. The physics is way off. I had to hold it by the actual cup. Luckily I've got a massive pain threshold, and managed to get away with only 3rd degree burns. Still five stars though, as it's not the fault of the one Caffè Nero I visited.

Wouldn't visit again ..to many trainee staff on and didn't get the drink right what I asked for .so I had a replacement one and this still wasn't right..table's weren't wiped when customers left either

Shocking service, won't take cash! You work in customer service, yet you are completely refusing to serve anyone who hasn't brought a card in with them? Incredibly disappointing.

Lovely staff, great products. Could have more vegan products, but what they had was lovely.
