We stopped off for a milkshake after a day out. We each came away with a beautiful glass bottle filled with a milkshake of our choice. I opted for a black cherry, as I love this flavour but have never had it as a milkshake before, one word, amazing! The kids and the hubby opted for strawberry and chocolate flavours. The self-service idea was great and easy to do. Parking was free and there was seating outside to enjoy our ice-creams.

Great little farm shop selling various items including the freshest creamiest milk you'll ever taste! Your cornflakes will never taste as good! lol. If you're passing, stop in for an ice-cream, coffee & a chat. Right across the road, fantastic sea views and a smooth walk up the coastline to nearby Allonby. A hidden gem for sure.

This is our happy place most weekends, and now the Moody Cow is open for summer its just topped it off. Fantastic coffee and Milkshakes all done with farm fresh milk, straight from the cow. Sit outside or take away. Good selection of things in the shop as well. Well done Clare, keep up the great work 👏

My elderly mother (originally from Allonby) and I spent a wonderful week in a luxury caravan owned by Blue Dial - which incidentally is a place where my daughter (now 44 years old) and her cousins, spent their holidays as children. The Hetheringtons are a lovely family and we received a very warm welcome. Naturally we visited the Moody Cow where the superb Clare spoils her customers with tasty food and yummy ice cream. Moody Cow is also stocked with food essentials as well as ‘raw milk’ - oh my this milk is so good - we drank it every day and even took 5 bottles home!! A great place to stay - immaculate caravan park and breathtaking beach Thank you Hetheringtons for being kind, welcoming and doing everything ‘spot on.’

Was recommended this place by Solway Cycle Hire and I am so glad we went! Can easily say that the Moody Cow served the best sausage roll we have ever eaten. The ice cream was delicious too! Service was warm and friendly. Can't wait to come back.

After a walk on the nearby beach, we called in for coffee, hot chocolate and yummy sausage rolls. There are seats inside and picnic tables outside so plenty of seating, plus it's dog friendly. This little café also sells unpasteurised 'raw' milk fresh from their dairy herd on the farm. Check out the lovely handmade greetings cards too.

We went through to Allonby on the off chance of riding up the coast. Our son is only 3, so he needs plenty of flat and of course a refreshment stop! We were lucky enough that everything fell into place. We booked the bikes then followed the route up to Maryport, with a pit stop at The Moody Cow in Allonby. The owner was very warm and welcoming, family friendly, the place itself is clean, funky and a good size for a quick stop off - having some seats inside and a bench outside. My son and I had one of their own milkshakes from their own cows. It was delicious! The menu choices are perfect for a stop off like this, not too many options but enough to make everyone happy! The owner invited us to go and see the cows, the robotic milking machine and the little robot cleaner! My son was thrilled and I was very impressed with how well looked after the farm is and how the cows seemed very happy. They have a great setup and I can imagine this side of the business will only grow. We will definitely be going back again. Thank you for being a part of our story for fathers day.

The catchy, contemporary-styled name belies the effervescent nature of the warm and welcoming host. We drove in to this tiny farm cafe looking for lunch and were impressed and surprised by the stylish, modern exterior. She quickly explained that it was mainly coffee and cakes BUT she could offer us pies and mushy peas. We took her up on her offer, enjoying delicious coffee and eating the tasty local butcher steak pies, followed by delicious ice cream, sitting in the sunny farmyard... One of the highlights of our holiday!

We visit Keswick every year and always use the sandwich shop at least twice when we are there. The food is always great with plenty of fillings and wide variety of sandwich’s. The service is always great and the prices are really competitive. Overall highly recommended.

Main courses were delicious, the only big let down were the deserts, Nutella sundae with whipped cream, it isn't a sundae without ice-cream and sticky toffee pudding with whipped cream, when stated on menu vanilla ice-cream , with no discount because of alternative, should of came out to say they had run out of ice-cream

Visited here at lunchtime looking for an all day breakfast and we weren’t disappointed. The full all day breakfast comes with tea or coffee and orange or apple juice. My other half didn’t want juice so they allowed us to have two teas and I had the other one as part of my breakfast that didn’t come with drinks included. The tea cam in mugs with the teabag in which allowed us control over the strength of the beverage. They also supplied a little China bowl to put the discarded tea bag in. The staff were friendly, efficient and courteous. The food was cooked fresh and well presented. The cakes and scones on display looked delicious although we didn’t indulge. Maybe next time.
