My partner and I were in Beverley town centre the other day, and during our walk we spotted Monkey Tree. After popping our heads in and chatting to the lovely and welcoming staff, we decided to settle in for some lunch. The menu was really varied and the specials board truly felt special - my partner had a variation of a buffalo/truffle infused chicken burger (something neither of us had ever seen before). The food was cracking, but what really stood out to us was the level of personality and service we experienced at Monkey Tree. We got to meet and chat with the owners, they popped to see us at the start and end of our meals and we learned so much about the brilliant people who run the restaurant. My partner and I agreed that you don’t tend to find that level of personal service anywhere, so to find it at Monkey Tree (a cafe/restaurant just on our doorstep) felt really special. While we were there we spotted a really mixed clientele, and Monkey Tree catered to them all. From warm drinks, to scones to dirty Mexican fries! Lastly, it was lovely to see the number of themed events that Monkey Tree runs. Offering themed menus and entertainment on regular evenings throughout the year. It really sounded like their community of customers meant a lot to them. 5/5 for the staff and service alone (the lovely food was a bonus)!

Went to the seafood night, first time I’ve eaten there, absolutely fantastic! It was such a relaxed atmosphere, the staff could not do enough for you, everybody was smiling, and the food tasted so fresh and different to the usual boring fare. What a little gem of a place! We will definitely be returning😀

We absolutely love Monkey Tree. We try and make as many of their evenings as possible. It’s the perfect combination of fun and relaxed dining combined with exceptional food and cocktails. It feels like you’re round for dinner at Fran’s house! We will continue to attend their nights, and for people also looking to book I would recommend booking early as it fills up fast.

Last night we attended our 3rd themed evening at The monkey tree and had the best time. The food was (as always) fantastic and beautifully presented and the cocktails are amazing. The little bunches of flowers for the ladies were a really lovely touch Fran and Tom are just the best hosts and somehow manage to make you feel like you have been invited round for dinner at a friends home. We’ve already booked for the seafood night and can’t wait. If you get the chance and they are not already fully booked I would highly recommend.

Fantastic night at the Monkeytree' 80's karaoke night, fancy dress was optional but most people embraced the theme 😆. We love these specialty nights the food is fabulous but it's the people both owners, customers & staff who make it truly special. Thanks to Jon of JRH Entertainments for taking good care of the 'kareoke virgins' we had a brilliant evening. Looking forward to the next time already.

We love this quirky bistro in middle of Beverley. Fabulous fun theme nights. We went to a ‘Korean Evening’ on Saturday evening. Top quality tasty food, as always tastefully presented. Friendly staff, great atmosphere & music entertainment. We’ll be back

The breakfast was hot , fresh and plenty and so it filled me up till the evening. I've recommended this place to many people and 2ill continue to do so with confidence.

Visited this week and were told if it was for drinks only we had to sit outside. Inside is only for food! The drinks then took over 20 minutes to arrive! I've heard, and read, several comments about poor service at this cafe. People won't return if they don't feel welcome.

Stuck a pin in a ( google) map to find a breakfast one hour away from leaving holiday accommodation. What a find. Interesting decor showed off the home made cakes and savouries whilst we waited a few minutes for a table. Breakfast avocado with poached eggs on sourdough bread, sun dried tomatoes, chorizo and pea shoots was divine and substantial. Staff were friendly and obviously enjoyed serving and cooking as much as we enjoyed eating. Make a detour. Worth every mile and every penny.

A gem of a cafe, lovely staff, quality food. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even making up a takeaway salad box and a sandwich to be collected later. Plus the cafe is dog friendly....

We visited over Easter and loved all the little chocolate eggs hidden around the cafe - kept the kids entertained whilst they waited for their food! Lovely cafe with a great menu. We ordered a range of different food but loved the halloumi burger and cheeseburger especially. It’s great that dogs are allowed in this cafe but as we don’t own a dog, even better that there are two areas - one for dogs and one where dogs aren’t allowed. Service was quick and with a smile, reasonably priced too for restaurant quality food. The only improvement needed is the toilet area - could do with a update!

I don’t often go into bakery shops but we were visiting Driffield today and spotted that there was a small seating area inside at the front of the shop and a larger area further in. We were ready for coffee and a snack The shop is obviously very popular as I had to join the queue but it gave me the opportunity to look at what was on offer. Vastly superior quality to what is available in other chain bakery shops and very well priced. I don’t eat bread but the sandwiches were definitely calling to me!😹
