Delicious food the atmosphere is immaculate in a very loud gay village this is a gem where you can chat with friends and have tapas and craft beer

Lovely tapas, attentive staff, and lovely atmosphere

I've been coming to Molly House each week for just over a year, in the main its a great place to go socialise with friends and meet new people. Recently, the prices have gone up which is to be expected but not when the price of a pint goes from £5.80 to £8.20. Seems excessive... and totally avoidable from what I've been told. I was curious as to why and asked at the bar, the person behind the bar pointed to the younger male manager who simply said when I asked 'I'm working and don't have time to talk' He knew what it was regarding and this was pretty rude. As I said, the bar is a great place to go and the rest of the staff are amazing! I just hope the prices don't continue to rise when there are plenty of other options available..

It was early Friday so I was the only one in and jus before I left another couple came in but apart from that the staff were chatty and friendly I'll definitely go back the 2 beers I had were well kept

Got to have one of the best choices of well kept, cask conditioned beers in Manchester. The friendly staff are pretty special too. A well deserved regular entry in the Good Beer Guide.

Very cute bar with a lovely, cozy atmosphere, great lighting, and friendly staff. The music is not too loud for those with sensory sensitivities; however, I'm unsure if it is wheelchair accessible.

Las Patatas Bravas eran tan buenas. Ambiente relajado Gran valor Super vino Teníamos casi todos los platos de tapas. Lo que no le gusta.

Este es un lugar al que llamamos de vez en cuando y siempre lo pasamos bien. Se encuentra en el centro del pueblo gay y definitivamente vale la pena visitarlo. No es masivo, pero hay una bonita habitación de arriba, así como con un bar y una zona para fumadores. Nos sentamos abajo en esta ocasión y el lugar estaba corriendo con un ambiente relajado - espalda y amable. Hacen una gama decente de bebidas a precios del centro de la ciudad y la camarera era divertida y amable. También hacen comida, pero en esta ocasión fue solo bebidas y nos lo pasamos muy bien allí.

Great pub. Good selection of beers. The place is traditional but up to date all at once. A proper, welcoming, cosy pub. Definitely worth a trip.

Un fantástico lugar peculiar, la comida es maravillosa. Probamos todo en el menú y no había un mal plato. Sin embargo, la mejor parte de nuestra visita fue el personal, en particular Lucy. Ella era muy cálido y atractivo e hizo que nuestro tiempo allí extra especial. Gracias por una gran velada, muy recomendable.

Fist came here just after it opened a good few years ago. Set on three levels with bar on ground floor plus kitchen and second bar and lounge on floor above. Toilets on top floor. (All access toilet on lower floor.) Very good real ale selection. Think Red Willow usually on. Always liked the food.

Belle décoration, musique agréable, lumière douce. Lieu intimiste. Très bonne cuisine, c'est de la qualité. Service agréable.

Traditional and good place to drink.

Cosy small pub, the staff were friendly and welcoming got a table for food. Great choice of tapas, my wife's vegan and was good amount of options for her. All the food come out in good time, well presented and tasted even better. Good service and prices would definitely return on my next visited to Manchester.

Great little hidden gem, warm and welcoming atmosphere with equally warm and welcoming tapas, simple but perfectly executed. Manager was kind and helpful. Would recommend to anyone.

Great little spot tucked away behind the main stretch of Canal street. Came in here for a bit of food and drinks and the atmosphere is great, a real retreat away from the busy streets... The food itself was phenomenal, an inventive tapas menu with a mixture of simple food dressed up and some more complex dishes - all incredibly tasty at some of the best prices you'll get for that sort of food! Only thing it could do with is a cocktail menu!

It's one of the best places to just get quiet, drink, and chat. Needed to catch up with old friends and chat, and this was it Plus, the food was nice too on the Sunday

Nice little pub with a nice choice of beverages that are certainly not the characterless choices of a typical high street pub. Probably best described as cosy, but none the worse for it.

This place for us was a little gem. From the moment we walked through the door we felt welcome. It's cozy with a friendly and knowledgeable barman serving a range of beer including a number of cask ales of which we tried two and both were well kept. The place was traditional with wooden floor and tables but seemed to have a modern vibe about it.. we got a menu which was a variety of tapas and ordered a number of them. The food was well presented and was fabulous every one being very tasty. We finished with the Basque Cheescake for desert and wow its amazing, worth a visit just for that. We wouldn't hesitate to go there for a drink and something to eat again.

Coming out to us was foccaccia with Iberico han, mushroom croquettes, scallops, veg in puff pastry & patats bravas. We loved them all ! Simple in preparation but packed with flavour ! Molly House has a very casual vibe. Place your order for food & drink at the bar. Your drink is poured immediately & food arrives at your table within minutes. Talking to a number of locals we found out that this place is well loved. They were a bit rushed at the bar but they served us with aplomb. A combo of high top tables & regular tables, a smaller area on the ground floor & more room upstairs. I believe it is one of the better food choices in The Quarter.

Drinks are always good, you won't find your average Stella but more IPA and wine focused as well as unique ciders. The place can feel a little cold or loud but everything else is pretty good for a small alley bar.

Been visiting Molly for over a decade now, it's pretty unique as far as the village goes... An excellent selection of spirits, beers and wine. A chilled environment where you can have a conversation with friends, a date or family. Staff are friendly, service is good. Not much more you could want.

My friend and I always visit here for food when we are going to the theatre. The food is delicious and cannot be beaten for taste and value. All the staff are lovely and I would highly recommend for food and a friendly atmosphere

I went and hung out with my coworkers for a few nights and had a great time every time.

Limited choice of food, but what we had was very nice. Great atmosphere, service and beer.

Had the tapas lunch deal... it was okay. The bread was overly soggy and the lamb tastes reheated and frozen quality. Everything was just okay, except the wine which tastes sour and like vinger.

Love this place. The smoking area is a vibe.

Had coffee and non alcohol drinks for a short break during the day. Nice pleasant atmosphere. Soft seating upstairs.

Special beer offer, a bit different

Great to find a venue like this so close to Canal Street with a great range of spirits and beers. The team were lovely, and even though some were new and in training, they did look after us well. The graffiti doors are entertaining too.

Located just on the edge of the gay village this is a place we call in from time to time and always enjoy ourselves. It is a little bit quirky but that is part of its charm and it has a laid-back and relaxed atmosphere. They do a really good range of beers as well including several IPAs I've never seen anywhere else. These are delicious and not badly priced for the city centre. We've never eaten there but the food always looks good and the service is quite friendly and prompt . They have a few boardgames available as well as books should you be on your own and need entertaining.

Never been here before. Reserved a table for 6pm. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice selection of very tasty tapas. Food arrived quickly and all freshly made. Good selection of draught beers to choose from. Left 2 hours later. Very nice evening and a wallet friendly bill. Go visit!

The young man at the bar was lovely and welcoming. The manager / owner was repellent. He was unhappy to be "interrupted" by a customer, in an open but almost empty bar/restaurant and made it known. No eye, contact, just surly manner without eye contact as we talked. Passive aggressive. Disgusting. My friend and I immediately left, despite our having booked and spent our money elsewhere.

Great little spot in a very busy area that was very cozy. Not a lot of seats on the main floor but great atmosphere and service. Will go back for sure. Good spirits selection and our Scottish bartender was super! Friendly and made us feel like regulars. Had good knowledge of the selection of beverages and local area. Loved it.

Went on a Tuesday afternoon,so was quiet. First time I've been in, was nice to find a bar in the village that does cask ale. A big bonus for me

Fantastic bar just off canal street. Super friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, great air con. Upstairs is where the more lively atmosphere is, downstairs is a bit quieter. The beer selection is fantastic.

Okay, it’s a bit different to the usual smarmy setup. Quite rustic, kitchen on view, laid back staff. Full lineup of artisan beers, select wines (nice bottles, not the usual stuff). Kinda didn’t feel any vibes when entering the place, then looked at the menu… Found the menu complex, nearly went elsewhere! But the nice easy going nature of the place sort of sinks in and the food arrives. Then you get it. Authentic grub, great beer, talk loud if you want, laugh a lot, order another couple of plates. Have another beer, no wait a mango cider, oh and maybe another plate. Nice offering, I’ll be back obviously. Hidden gem, for sure.

We shared a number of Tapas dishes, all very good and quick service, the kitchen is visable from the downstairs bar area. The only bar in the area we could find that had real ale on tap.

Good beer selection and nice interior with plenty of tables and upstairs seating with a terrace. Bartender looked annoyed at having to serve me.

The food was absolutely delicious, as was the wine. The scallops and hispi cabbage were two of many highlights. Will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu!

Delicious tapas, really authentic and better than more well known places

We went yesterday to try some tapas. All food was ok. Totally recommend Basque cheesecake. Good service and lovely staff. Great experience. Will come back definitely.

I really enjoy a pint at the Molly House. It’s great here because the staff are welcoming and always friendly. Food is 10/10 great Spanish Tapas at great prices. It’s even dog friendly earlier in the day. Nice outdoor area upstairs too. Molly House is a 10, thank you. Greg

Food is quite expensive, they don't seem to offer any time of deal on the tapas. So you end up getting 3 tiny plates for 30 quid and still feel hungry after. wouldn't be so bad if they had some sort of deal on

Went for tapas and drinks. The tapas were excellent. Good service too. Can’t really fault the place. Was fairly quiet but was a Wednesday afternoon.

A cosy tapas place just off Canal Street. It's the only place now that we have tapas. The service is always brilliant. The food is insanely good and the staff don't force you to get more food like other places would. They actually recommended less if you're thinking of ordering more which I find quite refreshing. I really enjoy that you can see the kitchen and your food being cooked by just one chef. 10/10

Lovely historic bar in a historic building. This is my favourite place to go in the village. Nice chilled atmosphere. Perfect for dates, friends and meetups. The bathroom is a particular highlight!

The best tapas I have ever eaten. Found this little gem by accident while out in Manchester and are now looking for an excuse to return so we can eat there again. The menu is not extensive like most tapas bars but everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and mouth wateringly delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient, letting me sample wines before choosing was a lovely touch. Very highly recommended

Have always just had a drink in the upstairs bar, but last Saturday evening we visited the restaurant/bar for tapas. WOW. great job guys wonderful food and service. Every dish was tasteful and was a pleasure to eat . Thank you we will return

honestly, impeccable. i love it here so much. it’s incredible. the bartenders are beautiful, the atmosphere is impeccable, it’s perfect.

Decent pub, good atmosphere, good beer.

We ate her last night and it was a joy from start to finish. The tapas were all delicious and presented beautifully by the Chef. We ordered 3 each, which was more than sufficient. We ordered wine by the glass and tried a couple of different ones. Each were excellent. The bar manager couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. He even arranged with the Chef for baked cheesecake to be set aside for us, which we returned to eat later. I would highly recommend The Molly House and we will definitely return when we next visit Manchester.

Love this place. Tapas is great and so is the beer.

Great Tapas and enough of a selection to cover every want and whim without confusing the issue. Chef was cooking and preparing the food in a great little kitchen right next to the bar, al in full view. Service was friendly, chatty and very helpful right down to a small sample glass of a recommended wine when our first choice was out of stock. Excellent tasty food, reasonable bill and would I go again? actually this was 'again', as it was every bit as good on our first visit a few weeks back.

We were very impressed with this eatery. Easy to book online. Lovely and cosy atmosphere. Delicious and well presented tapas. Excellent service. 6 minutes walk from the Palace theatre. We will be back!

Quiet unprepossessing entrance leading to an understated interior with a nice bar & and open kitchen area. Small plates/tapas the order of the day, we ate 6 between us & they were all uniformly excellent, with a special mention to the wonderful calamari! Decent well-priced wine list all served by a really nice fella! Love this place!

Great beer selection and friendly staff

Absolutely amazing Tapas served here! The food was all cooked in the wee kitchen beside our table and was so fresh and tasty. Lovely quality of food ingredients and a great array of different dishes to try. The guys were all really nice, attentive and friendly. Highly recommend and hope to visit again some day.

Had a fabulous mother's day lunch at Molly's House - our host was warm and welcoming and the food exceptional, made with excellent ingredients and cooked with love and care. I'd highly recommend.

Really friendly atmosphere, quieter upstairs so I could do an online meeting with no issues. Nice range of ales and pleasant staff. The venue has a nice vibe.

I arrived there by pure chance this afternoon. Lovely barman introduced the menu to me and I ordered 3 tapas, which were enough to satiate but left me wanting more as they were so delicious (especially the cabbage!). I’m coming back to Manchester just for the tapas. And the lovely barman. And the Krombacher Unfiltered, which was just the icing on the cake. :) 5 stars all the way.

Love this place tucked away! The staff are lovely and looked after our large group so well in the upstairs bar which stocks a wide range of great gins amongst other spirits. I’ve no idea how such a tiny kitchen can produce such tasty tapas but they do! I forgot to take food pics like I normally do - the sign of a great time! I almost didn’t want to review it so I can keep it a secret - but the cat’s out of the bag - it’s a gem!
