Junipers Coffee Shop in Manchester

We were pleased to discover that this cafe is now open on a Monday, although they don’t open until 10 so don’t head down too early. We haven’t been in a while, and today was also the first time I have sat inside here. On a wet day, there were lots of indoor tables first thing, but they were all full by the time we finished our brunch. It’s a popular spot and the food is good. A range of cooked options, and both French toast and pancakes. No granola or similar items. The full English got a big tick from me - a good sized serving of mushrooms, tasty hash brown, not too much sausage (one small one, which was just right) but generous with the bacon and the one egg was done well. I wouldn’t rave about the coffee, but it was okay and when we asked for tap water, we got a chilled carafe rather than a small glass, which also pleased me. Friendly service and the meals came out in good time. Quite a walk down a somewhat precarious staircase to the basement toilet; not unheard of at cafes in this area, but something for anyone with mobility issues to be aware of. Next time hopefully it will be sunny enough to sit out front again, and to watch the world pass by, but I now know that on a wet day, this is also a great place to eat indoors.

We have been on vacation for a few days, and they had recommended us to try their wonderful breakfasts. It was honestly a great experience for my family. The staff is lovely and very attentive, and the food is spectacular. I will definitely recommend it 100%.

Visited mid-week at lunchtime. Didn’t have a reservation. No issues getting a table. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived but filled up fairly quickly. Good menu selection. We have visited with our dog at least four times over the summer months. The service is brilliant - friendly and attentive. The food is consistently excellent and always that bit different. A great find. Our dog always gets fussed over too. The only minor negative is the steep steps to the cellar toilet. No good if you have mobility issues but can't be helped in this old and compact property.

Stopped for a coffee and bite to eat. Was able to sit outside. Lovely bacon and sausage sandwich on exquisite slices of bread. Very good coffee, great service. They only accept cash! Would recommend.

Best veggie breakfast burrito ever! Whilst writing this I am salivating excessively. Very friendly staff and timely service for freshly prepared food. The coffee is top too! Can’t recommend highly enough!

Food and drinks are always very good, the staff are very friendly and we do enjoy visiting this cafe, Unfortunately like many establishments these days they are dog friendly. On our last visit a couple with a cocker spaniel were having breakfast and feeding the dog bacon and sausages, not only is this really bad for the dog leading to all sorts of medical issues but the floor was covered in food, the dog barked when it hadn't received its next mouthful quickly enough and at one point the woman was putting her fork out to the dog. It was truly horrible. If dogs really must visit food establishments surely a table outside would be more appropriate.

We've been fans of the brunches at Junipers for years. The brunches are the best in Chorlton in our opinion ❤️. Now they have started tapas in the evening and fancied trying it out.... Well, what can I say but its just as good as the brunches. Junipers is a cosey place with a great atmosphere and vibe, and on a cold wet February night we felt we were whisked off to a Spanish resort. All in all the food is great, the meatballs were our favourite. Keep it up guys!

We stopped here on our way out of Manchester on Sunday morning - luckily we turned up at 10am on the dot otherwise we might have had a wait for a table. And there is a good reason. The service is excellent - super quick and friendly. The food is tasty, fresh and high quality - there are plenty of options for making your brunch more interesting as well - harissa and other ingredients blended into more 'traditional' items. The veggie breakfast was top notch.

I came here for brunch last weekend as we were walking through Chorlton and saw a queue was forming outside so thought it must be good 😊 as soon as they opened we got a table (however it filled up in minutes so get there early if you can) The vegetarian breakfast was nice and the drinks were good too. Pretty expensive for what it was. The place feels way too small for how popular it is. The tables are quite squashed together and with a couple of prams there too it was actually quite hard to get out of your table to pay, go to the toilet etc. The toilet was not clean.

We were first in at 10am and the place soon filled up…good going for a cold Wednesday morning! Fantastic homemade Breakfast Burrito and Shakshouka, great coffee and swift and friendly service. Wished we lived nearer so we could sample the rest of the menu!
