Loved this place in the corner, at one of the entrance of the Greenwich Market. Food is good and reasonably priced with warm humble staff. I chose the korma with fragrant rice , we had popodums, chicken curry and some fresh hot naan bread.

Our favourite Indian in the area. We often go midweek when it's less busy and we've never had to wait long for food. The Saagwaala Gosht is by far the favourite dish, the lamb always very soft and full of flavour.

It was terrible food. The biriani was like over cooked rise swimming in acidic tomato sauce. The lamb was like boiled meat. No flavour. Never again.

Order was accepted by the restaurant at 7:21pm with a delivery time of 8:05pm. On calling the restaurant at 8:15 I was told that they were waiting for the driver and it should be with us in 10 mins. Driver turned up at door at 8:45 with almost cold food.

If you haven’t got a table for walk-ins or the wait is going to be at least an hour before food arrives when you do get a table, just say so. Very mediocre food at best, unfortunately we’d committed by the time we realised other tables who’d been there when we arrived still had no food 30-40 mins later. Didn’t expect to be wowed but did expect proper good North Indian food. Didn’t get it. Building interesting downstairs, staff working hard but manager needs to decide if they are a takeaway or a restaurant. I think take outs take priority. And I wouldn’t bother with one of them on the basis of the food we had tonight. Poor all round

After drinking nearby, we fancied a curry and popped in here. Friendly welcome, decent service and the food was spot on. Decent portion sizes, plenty of flavour and we really enjoyed it. Slightly more expensive than I was expecting (had 2 drinks each, which probably what bumped it up) and bit lacking in atmosphere (no music!) but overall very nice restaurant.

We had a lovely meal here with friends. We were downstairs in a really old part of the restaurant in a vaulted booth that was very cosy and private. Fair value for money. Nice food and good service.

Took my daughter, who really hasn't had Indian before, and she adored it. Wonderful service, prompt, varied menu. The owner was very kind to the incredibly picky people at the table behind us who kept complaining about the spice level (Ladies, it's Indian food, I don't know what you're expecting, so good choice on the green salad: did you really just ask him if the salad was spicy?). Luncheon specials available. We had poppadum and chicken 65, pakora, chicken tikka masala (classic British dish), prawn tandoori, peshwari naan, cheese and chilli naan, and a mango lassi. Such a good deal as well!

This is a very good restaurant. Food is very tasty and the service is attentive. The menu is nice and compact with not too many dishes. This is now my favorite Indian restaurant in Greenwich.

We have been to the Mogul before and returned tonight. When we arrived they said there’s a 30 minute wait, (fair enough, it’s a Friday night), so we said we’d come back in 30 minutes. They said ‘no you can’t do this’. We then asked if we could book for the following Friday to make sure we got a table, to which they replied ‘no, we can’t take a booking for next time, and can you go outside because you’re letting the cold air in’.

Che dire, abbiamo mangiato benissimo, il titolare ci ha fornito assistenza consigliandoci cosa prendere, dato che per noi era la prima volta chd mangiavamo indiano, abbiamo preso "King Prawn Masala", 4 gamberoni con una salsa buonissima, e poi qualche Naan, anche quelli ottimi. Per ulimo, abbiami preso un misto di carni, anche quello eccellente. Personale gentilissimo, il titolare del ristorante, ci ha accompagnati alla stazione più vicina dopo che gli abbiamo chiesto informazioni. I prezzi, per come si mangia, sono giusti. Consigliato al massimo, se passate da Greenwich, andateci, ne vale veramente la pena.

Busy Sunday early evening but got a table. Staff pleasant and attentive. Particularly enjoyed Okra fries & Chilli paneer as starters, Acharia lamb as a main. Nilgiri chicken good, but less distinctive. Good naan.

Very nice small and friendly Indian restaurant conveniently situated close to Greenwich Market and the Cutty Sark. Very good food especially the fish curry. The only place I have had better fish curry is in India! Good service and not expensive.

Before I write this review, I should point out I've been ordering takeaway curries from this restaurant for almost 15 years. I have literally spent thousands of pounds with them. They have recently decided to be part of the Amazon restaurant scheme. As an experiment, I thought I'd try this. 2 hours later, no food arrived. As I am local, I thought id help matters by driving down and picking it up myself. At that point, they told me I had to pay for the food a second time and it was my job to claim the money back off of Amazon! Needless to say, I had no intention of doing this and left. The manner of the staff was rude, ignorant and paid me no respect as a long time customer. It was their business decision to get involved with Amazon Restaurants and not mine. I presume they did it to get wider presence on the web. It is their name, menu and reviews on the Amazon website. Therefore, when I order food from them, it is their responsibility to ensure the food is delivered, not mine. To compound the problem they then took the liberty of ringing my wife and complaining to her in an unpleasant fashion. In summary, a situation of their own making, which they completely mishandled. Like I said they have just lost a long term customer, all over a £30 order. Their loss.

Absolutely amazing! Everything from the service to the starter to the mains to the drinks! I can not recommend more highly!

This is by far one of the best indians we have ever had, staff were so welcoming nothing was to much trouble we arrived a bit late but were made to feel very welocome, we will return when we are next in Greenwich.

Amazing Indian food with a great quality-price ratio and excellent service (our water, which we think was named Jamal, was super friendly and helpful) in the center of Greenwich. From the starters to the vegetarian and chicken dishes, everything was spot on. We had such an amazing time there. We'll be sure to go back when in Greenwich!

We used this restaurant extensively when we lived in the area but haven’t been there for 4 years and decided to try it. Wished we hadn’t as the food was sub-standard with small pieces of off cut chicken and Only slithers not chunks of lamb.

We went there to take away. The staff was really nice and helpful. We did not have to wait very long and got our box to take out. For 10£we were so full with the starter main and nan. And the food was REALLY delicious chicken was excellent and spicy and rice was perfumed. So far I never had such a good Indian meal. The missing point is for the nan. Very dry. I totally recommend this place.

I used to love Mogul, but it seems there’s a major cost cutting exercise going on. The previously decent menu has been cut substantially and even the Tandoori grill seems to have suffered a complete makeover, to being virtually non-existent. The reduction in lamb dishes tells me there are probably Financial troubles. The restaurant has always been cramped and uncomfortable, and the staff a little rude, but the food always made up for that - looks like that will be Mogul’s final downfall and I for one, am sad.

Words cannot express how disappointed I was with this restaurant. Waiter would not allow me to add spinach or chickpeas to my curry (although both on sides so obvious restaurant had the ingredients and was assured dishes made fresh?) and when meals did come keema nann tasted like pizza base, totally lacking keema and obviously cooked from frozen. Totally disappointed and would avoid. Thought in London (coming from small town) that city restaurants would up their game but guess not!!

Flat soda, lukewarm spicy curry and cold rice. I advise against such an experience. It's not worth the wait or the squeeze to sit at a table.

Dont go unless booked, be warned. I phoned ahead asking if we could book a table. I was told the restaurant was fool but if we turned up they would try and accomodate us although we may have to wait. Having turned up at the restaurant with my wife only to be followed straight in behind a gentleman leading a party of four. A table for two I asked, a table for 4 the guy behind asked. Our waiter went downstairs and came back to tell the table of 4 it would be ready in 10 mins max. We the first in and first served where told 30 mins wait. Some bollocks about a large table. Why lie to us ?? How would you like to have been treated like that ?? What a way to treat people ?? If there wasn't a group of 4 behind bet we would have had the table.

We only just came across this place so decided last minute to pop in on a Saturday night, the place clearly gets busy so would have been better to book.

This used to be a regular haunt but domestic circumstances have reduced opportunities to eat here. However the chance came recently after a theatre visit and not surprisingly the food is as splendid as it has been for the last twenty years or so. Bookings tend to be seated downstairs in cosy alcoves, walk-ins upstairs in rather less exciting surroundings. Food is the same nevertheless; service is friendly and efficient. Portions are copious, especially biryanis (chicken is excellent) which come with a choice of vegetable sauce or raita. Sag aloo is also a good option. Papadoms come with three "dips". Draught Cobra is reasonably priced. Take-aways are also available. Highly recommended.

Hemos estado aquí un par de veces antes, pero no durante unos seis meses. Nos quedamos muy decepcionados en esta visita con el mal servicio. Hemos esperado mucho tiempo para ser servido y aún más tiempo para nuestra comida. La mesa de al lado para nosotros pedimos antes que nosotros y nuestra comida llegó después de que era realmente embarazoso. Habiendo dicho que otras dos personas vinieron después de nosotros y había comido allí incluso antes de nuestra era la cena en la mesa. Parecían saber el personal así que supongo que trato preferencial se le dio a los asiduos. La comida era buena, pero la noche se estropeó por un mal servicio. No dejar una propina que sólo cuando el servicio ha sido pésimo. No nos iremos de nuevo.

Visited on Saturday night with a friend, was very busy with tables but we managed to get a table. We was sat upstairs which is a little tight and defiantly not as nice as downstairs but it's our fault for not booking. The drinks was ordered but took a while to come. When my friend had drank his beer he asked for another and it took us asking twice more until it finally arrived. Food wasnt as nice again, so this is the second time in a row. Staff are friendly but just a shame the food quality has gone down slightly.

Booked table for 10 a week in advance for a work outing, we got shown to a cramped basement area with a table what we could barely fit ourselves on, let alone any food or plates.They would not take an order for our drinks or starters, we asked them twice to serve us. After 45 mins we walked.Never again, no need for this treatment.

The food was the only positive thing. Staff was very serious and didn't know what is "freshly squeezed" juice, saying "its freshly squeezed from the package"... Soooooo its not freshly squeezed. The place is in nice location, but inside is very small.

Let me start by saying myself and best friend visited here very often, was always the start of a night out, yet we have recently been having bad meals. We have been a few times to just check it wasn't a once off which can happen, but unfortunately it isn't. It's really gone down hill, the food is bland and for the price i expect more - specially after it being so good before. The atmosphere seems to have also changed, maybe there isn't a change management or team? - I don't think we shall return as the last two meals in a row have been bad. I would rather pay the price for something better. Sorry mogul..

We stumbled upon this fabulous restaurant by chance and it was a real find. The waiter helped us with our choices with a deadpan delivery and a twinkle in both eyes. From the delicious chutneys with the poppadums, to the spicy main dishes and beautiful kulfi the food was exquisite. But the truth is, the service is what makes this a fantastic experience. A previous reviewer talks about the slightly Faulty Towers aspect and this is the charm of the place. Right down to the last, the waiter was hilarious. 'Is service included on the bill" was met with 'Only at 10% sir' with the slightest of smiles. before politely inviting us to include more. Can't recommend it enough.

We arrived at 21.00 and the waiter was not pleased to see us - announcing ‘we close in an hour and a half’. At 21.45 new guests arrive and he shows them downstairs.The service was prompt, the food very good and the Chilean Merlot by the glass exceptionally good – probably the best Merlot I’ve ever had.The restaurant upstairs is totally lacking in character (regrettably I didn’t go downstairs which I now find out is better) and it has a grumpy waiter but apart from that it was excellent. 8/10

An excellent Indian restaurant in the heart of Greenwich. The restaurant has a brilliant basement that offers semi private dining. Looking forward to going back again.

While in transit between France and the USA, and Air bnb'ing overnight in Greenwich, I decided on an Indian. Mogul was an unexpected pleasure. A small venue with a slightly Fawlty Towers layout (waiters have to haul serving trays up and over the railings as they emerge from the basement kitchen), and with an appealingly louche atmosphere, the dishes were pitch perfect. A superb balance of heat and flavor, high quality ingredients and excellent Peshawari naans, if you like that sort of thing, which I do.I wish there was something half as good in Florida. In the USA, the few Indian restaurants don't have to try too hard as they stand out from the mass of Mexican restaurants, and American consumers don't know much about good food anyway. In fiercely competitive London, however, where there are probably close to 1000 Indian restaurants, the environment is more Darwinninan; only the fittest survive. This means that even an average Indian restaurant in London is far better than the so-called best in Florida. And Mogul is well above average.

Great indian food and cozy restaurant. We had tandoori chicken, tikka masala chicken, spicy papadoms and garlic naan bread. We loved it all! And the service we had was amasing. The man who served us was a total gentleman, checking regularly if everything was ok and pouring our glasses for us. This friendly gentlemans name was Farik and he really contributed to this great indian journey! Five stars for Farik and Mogul restaurant!

EAT FANTASTIC TANDOORI IN PIRATE CAVES - fantastic underground restaurant - ask for a seat in one of the caves - highly recommend the vegetable Thali - totally amazing - great value - excellent friendly staff - the best cave is the small one near the kitchen door - you get sizzling hot food straight from the chef's cooker!

This restaurant was conveniently near my hotel. The food was average (I live in a town with superb Indian food). The service was good, the portions decent. Nothing great, but a good local value for Indian food - always a good thing to find when traveling. Would recommend.

Second night in Greenwich for Tall Ships we found The Mogul fortunately. Great atmosphere downstairs with lovely staff. Starters of Bhajis and Aloo Chana Poori were superb, my mains of chicken Jalfrezi was very tasty and spicy.

I went to this restaurant thinking that it would be a fantastic opportunity to try yet another Indian food. After visiting the restaurant I wasn't at all happy with the service, food and drinks! It was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to..I even spotted a mouse running around. Staff is so unfriendly as if they were not bothered about their customers.I would never visit this place again to waste my money!!!

This was our first visit at Mogul and we're not at all disappointed. The quality of food was good and the portion size was appropriate. The food was really fresh just like homemade food. The only disappointment was late service. Staff was very pleasant and the place seemed very busy. Plenty of vegetarian choices for Indian curry lovers. We would love to visit Mogul again in future.

Arrived on a Tuesday evening at 9.30 and we were rushed through our meal as the staff wanted to close. The food was OK though, but there's nothing to especially recommend it. Equally, it's all perfectly pleasant.

Having eaten at 2 Fairly basic Indian Restaurants recently, Where the food was the main priority, IE Superb, Rating a place serving hungry London people, might seem unfair, But nothing we ordered compared to the food served in Birmingham.Whilst being considerably more expensive to boot.Note, the packaging was good, and the sealed food containers, were a good mess free idea.

This restaurant has been in Greenwich for many years and the menu is traditional Indian style. The food is cooked fresh and is medium priced. The restaurant is much nicer down stairs with it's quirky gun powder cave booths. The service is always exceptional with friendly and attentive waiting staff.

We were late for our dinner appointment because the train was late. Our friends were there started to order, the place was not full and the waiter kept stressing them about our late arrival. When we got there he made comments the entire evening about us being late, not the funny kind. It was inappropriate. The food was average indian food on the better side, dessert was hard to choose (not too many to choose from). I would say in London you can find better than this experience as a whole. Not recommend.

Μικρό και λιτό εστιατόριο αλλά καθαρό και περιποιημένο. Ηταν η πρώτη μας εμπειρία όσο αφορά την ινδική κουζίνα και παρόλο που ήμασταν διστακτικοί φύγαμε ενθουσιασμένοι. Επιλέξαμε 2 πιάτα με κοτόπουλο και ήταν εξαιρετικά και τα δυο. Αυτό όμως που πραγματικά αξίζει να σημειωθεί ήταν η ευγένεια του προσωπικού. We visited this Indian whilst staying in Greenwich. Staff very pleasant and the place was very busy. We were treated and seated quickly and led downstairs to a basement. The place was very interesting with lots of character. Food was served quick and tasted delicious. The staff were happy to explain what some of their dishes contained and helped us make our choices.

En plein Greenwich, ce restaurant offre une petite salle au RdC et une autre en sous-sol, l'ambiance est sobre.Les plats servis sont copieux et je les ai trouvés moins épicés que dans d'autres restaurants indiens.Biriyani, masala, korma etc.. tous les mets indiens sont au rendez-vous.Le personnel est courtois.Les prix sont corrects, par exemple le Biriyani entre 9 et 12 £.Par contre, nous avons été déçus par les naans.En résumé, voici un restaurant indien sans prétentions et tout à fait correct.

Turned up here with 5 friends one night and although tables could easily be moved together to accommodate 6, it was clear they couldn't be bothered. Offered to come back in half an hour if more tables might be free but was just told they wouldn't be. Pretty rude.

To be fair they did try and correct this by telling us what food came to the table that wasn't ordered we could have free of charge, unfortunately we didn't fancy that food, otherwise we would've ordered it in the first place. we paid the amount and had a little word (with no offense) to the owner to get it back up to scratch. hopefully he listens and gets this little gem back up to where it belongs!

We booked to stay with the family and asked for a private room upstairs but because of the stairs they squeezed us in downstairs which was not ideal, but the food and service was excellent.
