The Mint in Hackney

My local Indian restaurant. Very friendly nice staff. Good always good. Price also a lot lower than others. I regularly use this place as my go to for a takeaway.

OMG! The best East Asian food I've had in London to date. The manager PREOM CHOWDHURY was crazy informative and pleasant. There were three in my part and we ordered an appetizer and three mains and a side of naan. Everything was tasty. Like, really tasty. Hot and flavourful with excellent presentation. I will keep going back there.

I like to try different Indian takeaways in the neighbourhood and I must say The Mint convinced me in all points. The food arrived on time and was still warm (almost hot). The taste was super flavourful, the textures just as they should be. The Paneer Tikka perfectly grilled and spiced. The chutneys that came with it fresh and sweet. I will definitely order again!

The best Indian in London by a country mile. The food is authentic and delicious a hidden gem. I thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for amazing taste and subtle fragrances to their food.

Food wasn't delivered at all. When we called them, they told me that they didn't have an order and hung up the phone. No apology, nothing.

Food came an hour later, 2 hours wait in total, and staff unhelpful on the phone.

I do think the food is good but I would say mint are quite on the pricey side. That's what puts me off of ordering on a regular basis.

We have been going here for years, food is always fresh, hot, and tasty!

Delivery driver apparently got a puncture. 1hr and 30mins after i ordered they rang me to tell me. Well disappointed. Everywhere shut now. Pissd

I'm always happy with the food. The quality and quantity are just right and the staff are always helpful and polite.

Food took two hours to arrive, 45 mins late from the stated delivery time given. When I called to ask where it was they blamed bad traffic (the restaurant is a 5 min drive away). No complimentary veggie dish as advertised on the listing, not even any poppadoms. Food was good but don't think we will be ordered again, as not worth the wait.

The food was cold. there was no taste in the food. i think because i am pakistani you do this. Next time put microwave in car and heat food. you do this on purpose. -_-

We love Mint. It's our go to takeaway whenever we're feeling lazy and fancy an indian. But we were a bit disappointed on Friday as we were expecting it at 8.15 having ordered at 7.15 but it didn't come till 9pm. It was worth the wait and we will continue to use them in the future and we hope this was just a blip.

Food was good, but they extended the delivery time to over an hour, and when it arrived, one of my items was missing. It then took another hour for the naan to be delivered (cold)!

I always order from Mint. They are always excellent. Yummy thick sauces, not just a pile of sugar like some places. Always friendly staff.

Delivery was an hour late and no communication or explanation was given by the restaurant to let us know. Very unhelpful and rude when we called to check on our order. Food was okay but not great and things like poppadom dips didn't come complimentary which was disappointing. Wouldn't order from here again.

Was delivered 30 minutes late and with one item missing, customer response was quick in telling me how much longer my order would take to arrive and apologised, and the food was okay.

Food still hasn't arrived 25 minutes after it was scheduled to. Restaurant has been no help. Really disappointing.

Last two times I've ordered they haven't included the free drink/side order that they offer

i ordered £27 worth of food should have received a free bottle of drink and vegetable curry and didn't even when i wrote a not when ordering.. called the restaurant and was told id get a call to settle the matter but that call bk wasn't received. was disappointed .

Really Disappointed with my order and the service revived from this restaurant. As soon as I clicked order and had seen the delivery time was expected an hour delivery time , the restaurant then messaged to say it would be an additional 1/2 hr , the total time from order to delivery in the end was 2 1/2hrs. With the restaurant telling me it had been out for delivery for 45mins already, as compensation they gave me a bottle of coke. It would have been quicker to cancel and re order elsewhere.

Always top quality food very tasty and good ingredients. Sometimes take long to deliver but always worth the wait.

The food was pretty good, arrived hot and portion size okay too. The problem was that it took almost two hours from ordering to it arriving at the door. I called about 4 times during this time and was told various things, that at some points contradicted each other. When we pointed out that the service wasn't good enough the person on the phone talked over me and became rude and unpleasant. Not a good experience, we won't be ordering again.

Problem was that one dish, the brinjal bhaji wasn't delivered. Otherwise fine

At first I received an email to say that the restaurant was too busy to deliver my order. But 10 minutes later I received an email to say saying that my order was going to be delivered (albeit 30 minutes later than originally stayed). I then received a message saying that my order was on its way. This led me to believe that I might actually get some food. Over an hour and a half after my food was supposed to arrive, I have gone to bed with a toasted sandwich. Very disappointing - if they has been clear that they weren't going to deliver I could have ordered from somewhere else.

Seems like my initial review was either taken down or didn't go through. I've used this place a lot and they are always late, but on this occasion when I rang to ask where my order was I was shouted at. They said they didn't know, so I asked what they were doing to do about the fact my food was so late. More shouting. Eventually a kinder employee grabbed the phone off the man shouting at me (for simply asking where my food was) and said it was on its way. It was eventually an hour late and nothing was done to compensate the lateness nor the manner in which I'd been spoken to. Of course, when the food arrived it was cold. Order elsewhere- I can no longer recommend.

Sorry - not impressed! First they tried to deliver 2 hours before the requested time, then the food delivered was terribly bland, lacking in spice and flavour, and the vegetable side dish delivered was not what we ordered.

The food took over 1 and a half hours to be delivered. When it arrived it was lukewarm. The chickpeas were bland in taste and the lamb was swimming in oil. I have ordered from here In the past but this time was not good. I've received food a lot quicker on a Saturday evening, too. Phoned to cancel order and they said they would try within 50 minutes but fell asleep waiting. (It was Sunday and I ordered at 7:45pm. Received food at about 9:25pm). The mushroom rice was nice and fluffy though.

Food was delivered 55 mins late compared to the indicated time. Even when compared to the reviewed time it was still 25 mins late. The food also arrived cold. I tried calling the restaurant, twice, but there was no answer on both occasions. When I tried to message JustEat the app (using latest version on an iPhone 6) it wouldn't let me respond to the question being asked if me, making the entire exercise frustrating and redundant.

The problem with Mint is they are so hit and miss, sometimes the service is great but unfortunately quite often they mess up. Today my order was missing one of the dishes I ordered and the popadoms were so soft and stale. Very disappointing.

Drowning in oil. No sauce with onion bhaji. Chicken wasn't fresh. Very disappointed!!

Not only was our order over 45 mins late...we ordered a 'vegetarian' mushroom dish which turned out to be chicken when it arrived. The restaurant promised to add in some extra food to make up for being so late...we were given one single broken poppadom in a bag, and all the mango chutney had spilled all in the bag so we had none. Very disappointed and won't be returning.

Delivery took 1hour20. They updated to indicate an extra 20mins, I called and they said it was 5mins away but took another 15. A bit disappointing.

Very disappointed. Order was one hour and ten minutes late (we waited over 2 hours for the delivery total). Very nicely Asked manager for a discount and he gave us a measly £3 off an order of £40 - less than 10% for making us wait for cold, overpriced and very average food. Painfully small portions, don't fall for the "free entree if you spend xx" deal, I think there were 2 prawns in my "entree", what a scam!

Very reasonably priced, but felt the food was not very good quality.

Food was late (1hr 15 minutes to arrive, which was after the estimated delivery time). The delivery note I left for the restaurant was ignored.The food was packaged terribly which meant oil had leaked everywhere. Presumably because the food was late, it wasn't hot and it was dry but somehow manged to be greasy at the same time. Ended up not being able to eat most of it because it didn't taste good. Would not order from here again - very disappointing.

normally you guys are 15 out of 10, costant. But today there was just something not quite right, I didnt get my drink eithe :(r or the little salad thingy that comes inside, hopefully next time would be back to normal :)

Did not deliver drink that was ordered - said they would come back with it, never returned and would not return my calls to give a refund. It's only a drink but I'm pretty appalled by that service.

Most of the food was ok-ish, but they mixed up our order and gave some curry that we didn't order...

90 minutes to deliver a take away is unacceptable. Especially if you say it's on its way when it obviously isn't. Terrible.

One star is minimum but is too much half star is more than enough

35 mins after being told the driver is 10 minutes (given that the delivery time had passed by 15 minutes) and we are still waiting. Not impressed.

Food was average on this occasion and I was not delivered my free side order which was advertised.
