The Millpool in Coventry

Went with family to celebrate a birthday and had pre booked the lily pods at the millpond pub for our first afternoon tea. The first impression was wow inside the pod was spacious with benches either side tables set up lovely had Christmas decorations hanging on the ceiling also had coat hooks either side of inside by the doors as you walked also provided blankets and there was a heater and background music it really felt very welcoming cosy comfortable and private and just being able to talk in your group of people . The manager made you feel really welcome and made sure you had everything you needed .the food itself was amazing there was 5 of us and there was a single one and 2 double one with different varieties of sandwiches and pork pies scotch eggs and sausages rolls and light cakes and biscuits and massive pot of tea and coffee ☕ serving staff were fantastic on hand if you required anything nothing was to much trouble no long waiting food and drinks. Very impressed will definitely be coming back for other lily pods on offer. Overall 10/10 I would recommend anyone to try here your be surprised like we were.

Great pub for food, drinks and functions

Celebrated mums birthday here, decent choice of food and beverages, the setting was nice and cosy, staff manager or owner (not sure), however, was incredibly rude and disrespectful, definitely won't be celebrating anything there anymore.

Excellent food and service for a festive meal for 30 people.

We had a fantastic girls night with unlimited pizza and a bottle of Prosecco in one of the Millpools pods. The service was exceptional and the pizzas were amazing! The pods were so warm and cosy and we loved the fact that they had music playing in it too. We’ve decided that we’ll be doing a monthly pizza and Prosecco pod from now on 🍕☺️🥂

I had booked a table x 8 people to celebrate 2 birthdays, but due to illness had to change to 4. The smaller table was not suitable but a replacement was sorted immediately. I always decorate the table & the staff were very accommodating me with glasses of water for flower display & glasses for our napkins. THE FOOD - Every dish was piping hot - pet lothe is luke warm food. We had cottage pie, hunters chicken & steak & ale pie. These dishes were mega delish & quality was excellent. Only negative' s- no pudding's after 9.30, but we did have Birthday Cake 😀 & lighting bit to bright. We have sussed our tables for next visit. 😁😁😁😁

Big portions, very reasonably priced. The scampi and chips could easily serve 2! Plenty of parking and bookable pods for group dining. Would recommend to friends.

Booked for a group of 17 for a birthday. Given a side room for ourselves which was a bonus. Food was delicious and delivered in a timely manner. Staff were friendly and helpful with all requests we had. Would definitely recommend and will be a returning customer very soon

The roast dinner was really good . Apart from the roast potatoes they were really hard and really difficult to cut and eat . The desert we had was really nice as well .

We had a lovely afternoon tea in one of the pods today. It was delicious and very good service. Such a nice idea and would definitely recommend.

Ordered kids roasts via Uber and the portion sizes were fantastic! Whole meal tasted and looked fresh I would 100% order again in a heartbeat!

The waitress wasn't very attentive, we've had to keep looking for her to get more drinks, didn't offer a dessert. Not impressed

We didn’t eat but I was there with a friend both of us wheelchair users and the staff and whole place know exactly how to treat us and we had a really nice time

Attended for Sunday dinner. They were able to get us in at short notice. Was quite busy on arrival but still got food within a reasonable time. Food was lovely, although I felt it could've been a bit hotter. The homemade cauliflower cheese is delicious 😋

Good food at a reasonable price and with a good choice from the menu. Service was quick even though it was a busy lunch time.

Two steak dinners and a bottle of wine, great value for money, well cooked and presented and a nice red wine. Add in great staff and service ,and you have a great night

Living in Coventry been passed the millpool many times but I've never been in it but I got invited to a free meal there by a friend of mine had the steak and tiger pie never had a pie with so much meat in it was gorgeous overhaul a great night

I came here for an afternoon drink with my 2 friends. I ordered a spiced rum and coke which they didn’t even fill half the glass, so I politely asked if it could be filled to the top as I didn’t want my drink to be too strong. However, this rude old man behind the bar said “you should pay for more coke then” to which I was surprised by his tone and attitude as I did not ask to be put on rations. This customer service was terrible and I will not be returning to be spoken down to like that. I’m just a girl 🤷🏼‍♀️

Came for Sunday dinner - highly recommend the veggie wellington! We also had pie and chips and fish and chips which were also tasty! Puddings were good too. Friendly staff, good food and atmosphere.

Family visit 5 adults 2 kids visited on a Saturday for lunch. Spent about £120 on food and drink. Food was good the service was good and the price was fair for the food and service. I would recommend this place for food and drink just expect to pay prices to match.

Great tasting food served. Very busy when visited so that would maybe explain the slight delays in service but not an issue.

Food nice but the service was so slow. Constantly waiting to be able to order a drink or dessert s so we decided to only have a main and skip the dessert cause we had waited over 30 mins just to order after constantly asking for someone to serve us. We just got thr bill cause didnt want to wait any longer. Won't be returning very poor service

It's a really nice local pub. Unfortunately, the prices do not reflect that it is a local pub. Of planning to spend an evebing here you'll need deep pockets due to the costs of drinks. A round of 3 drinks cost over £20, which is scandalous.

I found the atmosphere to be quite unwelcoming, with some customers and staff giving us strange looks, as if we didn’t quite fit in. While the food was decent, it felt overpriced for what it was. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself returning in the future.

Took parents in for meal Saturday My wife's and dad's meal was good but mine and my mums was poor Both had cottage pie which the meat wad lumpy and the middle of the pie was cold My mother didn't want to make a fuss so we finished

Visited The MillPool on 15/09/2024 for a 60th. There was 20 of us in total with a mixture of adults and children. The service we had was fantastic, all food came out together, hot and nothing was missed. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and nothing was ever too much. We had an allergy within the party this was also catered for. Great atmosphere, very busy pub/ restaurant and delicious food.

If I had a Time Machine, I’d go back to 1957 and build this pub next to the river, and swap the fire station over. How amazing would that be? Superb real ale from the Everards brewery, a rarity in Marstonsland. Happy to have found an Everards pub after 2.5 years in Cov, right under my nose! I think the Madri signs had otherwise put me off…

Asked a simple question and got a very unclear answer with zero customer service. Felt very unwelcome so we decided to leave.

Came Saturday night for meal and drinks with a group of friends. Food was great and fab service.

Lovely food, good range of beers 🍻 Service a little slow but I think it's probably because they take their time making the quality food. Sat in the conservatory section which was really nice but there were a few squealing kids about which is not the pubs fault , Would definitely recommend visiting.

Not a great experience really, food is a bit blah, service is messy and causes bigger issues with the food. Eating at the same time is what we came out to do, but difficult with orders being wrong or forgotten. Seems to be quite an angry man behind the bar.

Went for a meal out on a Sunday visited around 4:30. Not a welcomed entrance just asked if we were fine, told to sit anywhere we liked. As we approached the seating areas no cutlery was laid out nor was the tables even clean! Marks and old food dried to the tables. Sat down ordered food and drinks via the waitress who took them using a little device, ordered the * steak and mushroom pie - not a pie. Just a stew with a puff pastry topped lid which was lukewarm. * Chicken kiev special of the day, which was cold inside. * A Sunday chicken roast which was brought out first before everyone else’s so it clearly went cold. Waitress wasn’t interested she was more interested in exclaiming at the hot plate ‘ she’s saying it’s cold how can it be cold!!!!’ Poor customer service skills, I thoroughly enjoyed my pint of madri but will never ever return to this establishment ever again.

Absolutely go again! Roast dinner amazing! Food is all fresh, homemade roasties,Yorkshire puddings and coliflower cheese! Lovely range of fresh veg to share too. Highly recommend!

Good food and wide range of drinks available. Nice interior, always busy in the lounge, I have never ventured into the 'pub' section. Areas for sitting outside on a nice day or with your dog. Could do with an area for kids to play, some play equipment, a section of the grassy area with the benches would be ideal for this.

Popped in for a quick drink with the wife as was passing by . Didn't try and food buy menu looked nice and we will definitely try the food on our next visit

Booked a Cream Tea in the new little cabins, we were not disappointed, the staff were amazing, the cabins were so nice and cosy and done lovely, the food was great, we was not disappointed. Can wait to go again.

Nice Food. Clean Tidy. Nice Staff. The food was very good. The drink was not so nice I had Pepsi or coke. Did not taste right. But it's not too bad. Overall. I definitely recommend The Millpool I am hard to please, and this pub over all 5*.

Went with my friend who was over from Southern Ireland as I had told her how good it was, she is vegetarian and was pleased with the range of food on offer for her, we both had a fantastic meal, well cooked and presented and the staff were all lovely she wants to go again when she is over next and I shall be back soon 😊

Attended a fantastic 80th Birthday celebration today in one of the small private rooms at The Mill Pool, excellent service, buffet food amazing. Could not fault it, would recommend as a fabulous private function area, had such a memorable day. Thank you to the Mill Pool staff :)

Had an amazing afternoon tea last Saturday in one of the pods.The pods are brilliant, each pod is decorated and designed differently.The selection of sandwiches and cakes are really good and all home made in the premises.Enjoyed it so much have booked a return visit.The staff are all exceptional, so friendly, helpful and attentive,well done to you all

Brought 2 grandaughters for meal chicken stripes were good tasty jkt pot fine as you'd expect my disappointment was Hunters chicken very dry and cheese blended together life shoe leather well over cooked also Fri's with it lot burnt ones so wasn't over enthused with my meal

Just had a lunch with a friend at the mill pool we were lucky enough to try out one of the new pods! The pods are cosy and beautiful…food great value for money all came out hot and good portion sizes! Service was super the staff couldn’t do enough for us! Huge thankyou and we will be visiting again

Had a family Sunday lunch here - over 20 of us- and the service and food was amazing . Somehow the team served all Of the food on time and the quality was superb. The Sunday roasts were lovely . Can’t wait to come here again .

Attended a family's 30th birthday party a hot buffet was provided and the food was excellent the best buffet I have ever attended. Well done! Would definitely recommend for a small function.

THE MILLPOOL......this is the BEST PUB in Coventry, John and his STAFF run a tight ship. Always need to book to get an EXCELLENT meal. Really enjoyed my Sunday lunch there this week. Well done to you all 5☆ you all deserve it xx

Sunday roast lovely. The cauliflower cheese is exceptional. Clearly a food place as the drink prices are excessive at best. This is expected however due to the reputation the pub has gained over the years. People will always come and they will always pay whatever they are asked.

Just had the chefs special jd glazed chicken strips they were excellent and should be on the permanent menu
