Chinese Kitchen in Coventry

I've ordered from here about a year ago and the food was really good but recently I ordered the Singapore vermicelli and I'm thoroughly disappointed. The noodles are quite dry I think there's too much curry powder in them. Not sure if you've changed the recipe but please change it back as they tasted good before.

Ordered a takeaway from here, and blimey, it was absolutely scorching! Not just spicy, but lava-hot—felt like it had just been pulled out of a volcano. Could barely eat it without my tongue waving the white flag. If you’re not into food that melts your face off, make sure you properly tell them to go easy on the spice and heat when you order. Otherwise, brace yourself for a fiery feast!

Best Chinese food in the Midlands!

Very bad and very rude people. I felt so bad so very bad. I always give them extra tips also. But their behaviour i can’t believe. Food is fine but you people need to change your behaviour and talking manners towards customers. I felt insulted.

Amazing meal. Just tried this place for the first time. You can order online to collect your food at a given time. I got fried rice with mixed vegetables and chicken. Staff were clearly working hard and doing a very good job. Friendly, efficient, good atmosphere, big portions, and good price. You can't fault it, five stars!

One of the only places in Coventry that does a decent enough Cantonese roast. Roast duck is ok but the crispy belly pork is the best. Their beef stir-fried noodles are the bomb. They have a decent canteen-style space to sit in and eat but a lot do takeaway. Friendly staff and very efficient, quick service.

The front desk staff with glasses is very rude, impatient, and dishonest. My friend and I have had bad experiences with him every time we visited. For example, when I asked him to recommend some meals in person, he used Chinese. However, when I ordered over the phone later, he claimed not to understand Chinese, even denying knowledge of the dish he had previously suggested. He’s also dismissive—when I asked for the nearest ATM, he kept insisting I use online ordering, implying the 50p fee wasn’t worth saving. His attitude is unacceptable.

I've ate in Chinese kitchen for years now. Food has never disappoint, great value and great portions. The service has also been amazing too 👍 This has got to be one of the busiest take away in Coventry. 9/10

After taking 2 hours to deliver food, who really wants to see how my food looks 🤮. It used to nice but now they don’t treat anyone right. They claim to be busy all the time and still forget things. Food was absolutely dry

Just went to Chinese kitchen asked for regular chicken chow mein and crispy wantons plus extra king prawns on chow mein which I got 4 prawns in total wow,and customer service was miserable and depressing most Chinese place are quite pleasant, asked for regular got charged for large which I'm not going to eat will eat the four prawns I had but don't justify the price, better Chinese takeaway out there last I go to these pricks don't even taste nice

Good portions, the chow mein and singapore vermicelli used to be nice. They make it less flavoured now. Used to be the best but not in these 2 dishes. The rest was spot on.

Value for the price, food is good

Had a nice curry from here, you can order online and collect. They have 3 different levels of spice, which is good for those who like it hot. Food ready within 10 minutes on a busy Saturday. All good.

Authentic Chinese food - mainly Cantonese based but with enough variety to suit all tastes. Massive portions so order wisely. Basic sit in - order and pay first (cash only) and then wait for your food at the table. They provide proper cutlery/chopsticks as required. Recommended.

Love the food from CK. Never had a meal I didn't like. I've only had takeaways so can't comment on the atmosphere.

Food is some of the best Chinese I've had for a long time. I've had more meals here than I care to admit, and only one mistake has been made (the food was completely cold, even though I ordered and collected in person) Staff are mostly nice, some of the staff are new and can make mistakes.

The food has not disappointed me yet. Portion size on the fried rice is always good and the value for money is probably the best in Coventry to be fair. Try this place out if you're on a budget and want good tasting Chinese food with a lot of choice.

very rude manager, didn’t want to drop my food to my door & wanted me to walk outside to the car. this is the first time I’ve experienced such a poor customer service from chinese kitchen, the manager needs to work on his communication skills and the way he speaks to people because it’s not acceptable. Ordered 4 portions beef ho fun and 4 portions of triple roast and rice £78 Food was amazing beef ho fun was cooked to perfection. Triple roast, crispy pork belly and bbq pork was perfect, the only letdown was duck was overcooked and very dry. Staff were amazing and polite, even offered to bring it out to the car for me.

I was down in Coventry for the weekend and was told this was the best Chinese place in the area so I thought I’d give it a try. I ordered online and had to collect as they didn’t deliver to my hotel. It was a 13 minute drive to the restaurant and when I arrived my food was ready there wasn’t much customer service but as they were busy I thought nothing of it. When I arrived back at my hotel 13 mins later the food was freezing! I was starving and didn’t have a microwave and had spent over £40 so tucked in. My family thought it tasted stale especially the chilli beef and the king prawns which were so tuff and chewy it was hard to eat, and decided not to eat the food. I persevered and ate it, what a big mistake!!! 9 am the next morning food poisoning kicked in and I threw up for 3 days!!! I even spent several hours in A&E due to passing out from becoming dehydrated from not eating and throwing up for 3 days! I would never go there again!

They have closed the restaurant and you need to pay cash 🫥

Just walked in and received the most worst service EVER!!! The Chinese lady should learn some manners and learn about customer service. Also, the whole place had a bad smell of fish. Disgusting!!

Been ordering by from here for a long time never had an issue until now. Delivery driver made things very difficult when I was directing her to my car park as she dont know her right from her left however this ain’t the main issue, I ordered Peking duck and expected something different and it looks and taste exactly the same as their Hong Kong style which states it’s a sweet and sour dish on there menu and they fail to state this under the Peking duck, I rang and complained I’m not happy with it as if I would have known it taste exactly same as their Hong Kong style I would not have ordered it, the amount of money I have gave this takeaway and all I got back on the phone was excuses was not how I expected for the issue to be resolved especially a customer that orders from this place one to three times per week, all they had to say was we can come collect it and I can change it for something else however that’s not what they wanted to say well done Chinese kitchen you have lost a great customer I hope it was worth the hundreds of pounds you get from me every month

It’s the second time now I have ordered from here, because I was happy with the food last time, unfortunately this time wasn’t so good the chicken wasn’t spicy at all and it was soggy, as I was eating I came across a long hair which made me stop eating which was so disappointing!

Great authentic chinese food for less money without compromising taste and quality.

The appearance of the restaurant from the outside is quite catchy and you are tempted to place an order. I had the egg fried rice and I would say that the quantity offered in the large version is quite generous for the price charged. Coming to the type of rice used, I observed that it was different from some of the other egg fried rice that I have had around at Coventry, probably the rice grain is a bit thicker and chewy, for my liking! Also, no card option to pay, which is a hassle for me, I would say! I will probably try a few more things from here, going forward and update the review.

I found egg shells in my food!! I usually enjoy Chinese kitchen but as I was eating their shrimp (and assuming also egg) fried rice, I found several shells in my food, completely lost my appetite! Chinese kitchen do better pls!! Could have been a health and safety hazard.

I had food poisoning after eating their food about 2 and I have a formal Doctors not as a receipt that my food poisoning was due to their prawns. As a lot of people complain about food poisoning on top of that. I will definitely report this to the health and safety company. On top of that the lady on the phone is the rudest person work to serve customers that I have ever experienced. She wasn’t willing to mention her name but she really need to held accountable because she lacks respect.

First time here, we will be back. Very good very nice !!

Place has unfortunately gone down hill. Medium spicy is basically mild now and they charge like £5 for salt n pepper chips. Unbelievable.

Literally the best Chinese food ever!! Great food and services from the chefs, value for money aswell, although you can’t sit in to eat due to COVID etc this has no impact on the quality of their services, great work guys.

food took ages to arrive, i ordered a curry sauce as i am pregnant and i’ve been CRAVINGGG it and they forgot to bring it with my order but still charged me for it. food was cold when it came and egg fried rice tasted re cooked i usually love food from here but i’ve been left extremely hungry and unsatisfied. you’ve lost a loyal customer chinese kitchen !!!

I've ordered from here several times and the food is usually very good - I've had a time meals where the meat has been tough and/or very fatty. But usually it's good but the chicken makes for a safer option. Also the staff can be a bit abrupt and surly but perhaps that's more a language barrier than being unfriendly. Also the prices are a bit on the high side

The best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to.

I have been going to Chinese Kitchen for years and there is nothing that matches the quality of the food or service anywhere else. Not had a bad dish or bad service and I HIGHLY recommend trying any dish!

The foods and the table service are decent, maybe 4 stars, but the delivery driver (who had South Asian/Middle East look) had horrible and condescending attitude. I guess he got used to taking advantage of many international Asian customers here. Such a terrible person. Staffs like him are ruining the reputation of the restaurant.

I've been buying Chinese food here for as long as I can remember. Never disappointed. I've tried many around Coventry but still come back here. It's unfortunate they don't deliver to the outer areas of the city, where I now live, but the food is definitely worth the trip.

Delicious take-out food tonight. We had a whole sliced-up roast duck plus beef in ho-fun noodles (great value for money for its portion size). Tasty as always; the leftover duck will become part of another meal for our lunch the following day.

This place is love❤😌, The staffs and boss here are all so friendly, food size is big But price is quite low compare to most Chinese restaurants in Coventry. Btw, they can do Halal chicken chow mein and fried rice, I usually have seafood, But When you order Halal you gotta tell them to use fresh oil to cook for you! Highly recommended!👏👏👏

Food is good, but menu is way too big

This is my favourite Chinese in Coventry and personally I think it’s the best. I’ve tried a couple other places but nothing compares. I’ve been going here since I started university a few years ago. The food is amazing, full of great flavours and they come in big portions. The service is quick weather you eat in or order out. I would recommend this to everyone

Absolutely delicious! I've been walking past that place every day for months and I regret that I entered only a few days ago, really should have done that long time ago... Anyway the staff is very smiley and friendly and the portions are quite big(if you order 2 things you won't be able to eat them on that same meal haha). I am totally recommending!
