The Millhouse in Warrington

Just took my parents for Sunday lunch,and it was delicious!! Staff are lovely and let me and mum have kids meal. Extremely good value for money. Deffo going back.

Shared a great evening with friends there. Good food and great service.

3 meals ordered within a couple of minutes of each other one arrived the other 2 never turned up even after 30mins I asked for a refund to be told it's suddenly ready by then I refused and just wanted my refund I will not bother using that pub anymore for a meal

We ordered Fish Friday and Cheese Pie. We were surprised on the reduction of portion sizes of the peas, beans, chips and the fish. The fish was a pre-formed shape and dry and most certainly unlike a fresh fish you get from the local nearby award winning Chip Shop, the peas/beans portion sizes were no bigger than a dessert spoon size and the cheese pie although just warm was no where near as hot/oozy as it used to be, we then counted the chips on our plates, one meal had 12 chips and the other 15 chips. The Fish Friday Deal used to see this pub heavily utilised by customers with never an empty seat, but it is now noticeable a much reduced ordered meal with lots of empty seats. On speaking with local residents who regularly frequented the pub for meals throughout the week and Friday they make the same comments regarding the reduced portion sizes, warmth of food and inform they now frequent the nearby Chip Shop for their Friday Fish Meal, this pub used to be a community pub you would walk away from feeling you had had a good value meal. It is a shame to see the pub going in this direction with regular customers sourcing alternative venues. There appears to be less staff on duty and the ones that are on duty are rushing around. Some thought, work and effort needs to be put in by Management to rebuild this pub to retrieve it's declining popularity before it is too late and it once again reverts back to a drinking only establishment.

The wraps taste very nice, but are unbelievably small and may just be enough for a young child at lunchtime, certainly not an adult. And don't waste your money on the loaded fries, or should I say cardboard with dry tough meat and a tiny bit of cheese.

After visiting the millhouse a few weeks before and wasn't impressed. I did complain at the time and I wrote a review. We decided to visit again because we have visited the millhouse quite regularly for over 30 years. Well, what a difference the new host of the millhouse greeted us and served us our drinks and food. The last time we visited I chose a steak cooked rare when it came it was cooked medium to well done not really how i like it . I decided to have the steak again and again asked for it cooked rare and that's exactly how it came out PERFECT 👌. We paid our bill and left very hsppy...just want to add The host who i think was called josh did a great job looking after us and we look forward to our next visit.

We had the dirty frys and the sticky toffee pudding and i could not fault it the staff where amazing and its dog friendy we had a lovley time thank you we wilk be back again x

Had my sister shower party here! It was fantastic! Staff were really helpful on the lead up to the event, they did everything they could to answer all of my many questions 🤣! They allowed me to accommodate for one of our guests who was gluten free and ensured she had nice meal. area allocated was perfect for type of gathering, it was lovely sunny afternoon and we had bifolds open into beer garden, so felt more space and was light and airy! Staff were excellent, they helped set the room up, helped put decorations up (we would have been gonnas without Sam’s balloon expertise 😂😂), couldn’t have asked for more from staff! The buffet arrived on time and was lovely! At the end of our time slot, we were allowed to stay in room for a little longer as there were no other bookings which was really kind as there could of been a charge for the extra time! Everyone commented what a lovely time they had had, and we had a perfect afternoon! Thank you to everyone at the Millhouse 😊😊😊 I would definitely recommend for a small gathering (25people)😊

We've been coming back every now and then because this is the place we had our first date at. The food is okay but nothing special, especially for the prices that they charge. It was a bit of a shock to us when we went yesterday.

Me and my partner have been using the millhouse for over 30 years and have seen many changes in staff and landlords/landladies. I can't comment on the landlord or landlady on this visit because they are new, so I didn't know who they were. We normally enjoy our visit but not this time . My partner ordered chicken wrap with no complaints. I ordered steak cooked rare it came medium rare to well done. Don't get me wrong, I can eat it like this but prefer it rare ( bleeding). When I mentioned this to the server, he completely ignored me. We then proceeded to the pudding no problem with the food, but the server dropped the food on the table (not by accident ) and threw the cuterlary on the table . Maybe he took offence that I mentioned the steak was overdone and not to my liking. Service was poor. I think the plough round the corner may profit from some of the reviews im reading . It will from us because we will take the extra 5 min walk to the plough ...

Burger was OK, chips felt like they had been left under a heater for a while and we was not offered a free drink as part of the Friday deal. Decent atmosphere, but I won't be going back for food again in rush.

Love the Millhouse! Great menu, we called in for breakfast, there was 11 of us but we're accommodated and seated in the conservatory area ( this area can also be booked for functions...its lovely!) Lovely food, great variety/choice on the menu, friendly service

Had a party of 8 adults 3 children for Christmas menu , food was inedible, chicken , turkey and haddock dry and over cooked. Took one bite of roast potato and spat it out disgusting. If I could give the food Zero I would couldn’t . Staff were lovely but don’t bother eating

Me and my partner have come here a few times over the last few months and it has always been quite pleasant with good food, unfortunately for our latest visit I cannot say the same I ordered a burger which was burnt and very dry, some of the bar staff seemed distant and not very interested in us as customers when asked questions. I will maybe visit again with hopes of a better experience in future

I came with my family for Sunday lunch, Our food arrived after a bit of a wait, first impression was where is the rest? Then my potatoes tasted like they were warmed up in the microwave, rubbery with a tough texture, vegetables were slightly over cooked for my liking and very bland. Nice enough setting with friendly waiters although Prices are not comparable to other eating establishments in the area. Poor quality of food has really let them down.

First visit, really great cosy atmosphere. Had a roast but it wasn't the best ... the gravy was nice but the rest wasn't to my taste. All a little over cooked for me, meaning soggy veg, rubbery roast potatoes. Price was reasonable though.

Never again hair in the pie ask to order something else waited very long time for second meal .then was asked to pay extra. Never again

Well in my 47 years living in Warrington I’ve never been here haha 😂 went with friends last night and was very pleasantly surprised surroundings were lovely really lovely pub service was good too food was incredible probably the best pub I’ve been to in a very long time will definitely be returning and definitely recommend too they also dealt with my allergy concerns too lovely staff behind the bar etc thank you x

4 of us dined here, it was busy but it was Friday early evening. Food we ordered was really nice, steak pie, chicken & scampi. Bar staff & serving staff were really good, only thing was when we were shown our seats we weren't told to order at bar!! Manager apologised!

Food was dry as if it had been stood and reheated, not the first time. Staff an place nice and clean and friendly.

Food has gone abit downhill recently and in some meals ingredients that aren’t on the menu are in the food which could be a big health risk. Other than that the pub itself is a very nice cozy pub and the staff always have warming personalities.

Brilliant meal good helpings and very scrumptious !

Extremely modern and the food is delicious, Service can be a little slow moving but they do get extremely busy so that’s easily forgiven. The house lagers/beers was a refreshing change 🍺 Overall really enjoyed our visit.

Food was lovely. Sat I’m the garden great atmosphere and very busy. Knocked it down one star for service. They forgot out puddings (cardinal sin) 😂 brought them quickly when reminded. Will definitely go again.

I was disappointed that the Millhouse used the old con of advertising fish and chips but failing to state what the fish was. My fault as I didn't pay forensic attention to the menu and assumed the fish would be cod.

First time going we sat in the garden in the sun, had some nice music in the background, very nice atmoshpere, very helpful and welcoming staff, dog friendly :), we didnt have to wait long for the food, but when it come out it was very delicious, the best sunday dinner i have eaton out, so i am pleased to say this may be our new local, or we will be definately returning for the thursday curry night so thank you for a lovely experience from kirsty and my little dog teddy

Having been through a difficult bereavement we as a family needed a get together. I rang to book only a few hours in advance as we hadn't made plans for my grandsons birthday. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful and polite (even when we turned up with 2 extras people) They already had 2 other large parties in but all 17 covers arrived as ordered, at the same time and hot! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and what started as a reluctant get together was a wonderful evening, great food, service and surroundings. Thank you Millhouse team!

Nice meal out with my nine year old son. I had the 8oz rump steak, and he has the classic burger. Nice meal. Shame they don't accept blue light card as I would eat here more often.
