Lovely welcoming pub, dogs and kids welcome, super welcoming bar staff! Rachel was happy to serve us and had a smile all through.

Close place to meet family and friends to catch up. I recommended by colleague. Oh my God, what a disappointment, The most Unclean place I’ve ever been to. it should be a lovely place as the building as such character. The local drink in there made it very uncomfortable as we were regulars.

We had a room for a Christening so didn't have a meal here but what we had was very reasonable. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely little pub really rustic and quiet. Plenty of choice for food and drinks, pool tables and darts also.

Went in with the partner, lovely bar staff, even better landlady! Made it from a good pub to an excellent one having taken over in the last few weeks. Can’t wait to go back and see the live music on Saturdays!!

Used to be a really good pub with the football on and decent beers, but went in to watch the match this evening and told it’s been taken over my new owners and the only match playing was dominos! Real shame as it’s the only dog friendly sports pub in the area. Really hope the new owners can listen to the feedback in reviews and return to how it was

Popped in before football, nice pub it was quiet but I wish them well in the future as its just Ben taken over by new people.

Lovely traditional pub with a great choice of beers

As a resident living next to the pub, I have to say that the landlord seems to be putting his commercial interests above the needs of the local community that surrounds him. The noise coming from the pub at the weekend has become totally unacceptable and cannot continue.

Chicken scraps, chewey beef. Not fit for a dog. Would you pay £8.50? They treat the staff horrible, never again!

I'm told the pub has just been taken over and unfortunately you could tell as they had run out of several beers. However, I'm sure this pub is going to be pretty good once they're up to speed. It looks terrific inside and out and the staff were incredibly friendly. There's lots of facilities such as pool and darts etc... and it was a very warm and friendly environment.

Myself and my family have been customers for 8 years at this pub but only recently discovered what can be described as disgusting treatment from a so called manager named Frank. He was extremely rude and waved his fingers in my face when I complained about a glass being dirty. He really has no people skills and should not be doing that job, he is disgusting !! Since I out a review on social media, many people have come forward and also told me theyve had similar issues from the man. Avoid like the plague ! We will only return when he is gone.

Called in on Saturday evening, best meal we have had in a long time. Restaurant quality at pub prices, please give the Saracens at try, you will not be disappointed and the Rioja is a fine compliment to a fantastic meal. Only a short stroll from Stockton Heath just north of the swing bridge it deserves a visit.

Visited here to finish off a weeks holiday with the other half, for a cheeky Sunday roast.Didn’t disappoint, we had roast beef which came with seasonal veg (parsnips, carrots and swede mash, cauliflower and broccoli) homemade Yorkshire pudding, mash and roast potatoes, and yummy gravy, was amazing. For dessert we had chocolate cake with sauce and custard and sponge pudding with custard, both looked appetising and they didn’t disappoint, tasted great.Would recommend here for a Sunday roast anytime, top marks to the chef.

My father-in-law has early stage Dementia and is hearing is poor so the pub was perfect for us. Quiet room on Saturday lunchtime and the staff were friendly and welcoming!My lasagne was delicious and moist with chips and salad garnish. My father-in-law enjoyed his "light bite" cheeseburger and chips.

Couldn’t be bothered cooking so called in for a quick bite to eat... Nice surroundings, and a good menu (with excellent allergy advice) at very reasonable prices. Had the Mushroom Stroganoff with chips... the sauce was incredible and the chips up there with the best homemade style pub chips i’ve ever had. If anything the pub is undercharging for it’s meals, not that I’m complaining!

Just went on the off chance as we were passing by and thought we would give it a try. It was 1.30pm on a sunday and the car park was very quiet and walked in the pub as there were only 2 customers in there. We were the only people eating. Quite a varied menu and the staff were very attentive and serve was quick. Our 4 year old enjoyed her meal off the kids menu. As previously mentioned the chips are lovely, home made and lovely and chunky. The meals were reasonably priced too and the atmosphere of the pub is nice especially at the back with all the old lights and beams with the bi folding doors

Food is excellent. Good value. Lovely period Victorian building. But those chips. Just tor the chips. Seriously.

Came for an evening meal, food came promptly it was delicious and very good value for money, the staff were all friendly and efficient we would definitely recommend.

Called on the off chance food was being served which it was.We settled for the Fish friday deal which was fish and chips,peas two for £12 came pretty soon and disappeared being so nice.Recomended.

Traditional both outside and in. Great Victorian tiled floors and fireplaces. Welcoming, friendly atmosphere and staff. Decent JW Lees ales on handpump. Superb, my type of pub.

Decided to drop in on The Saracens Head pub in Warrington. What a cracking boozer, a lot of history and different architecture, very eclectic mix of customers! All very friendly. Staff were good and a French barman served me, nice guy. The Gin bar is very different from the front of house bar - and the restaurant. I had a Whitley Neill gin with an infusion of rhubarb and ginger, garnished with strips of fresh rhubarb, a strawberry, a marshmallow, juniper berries and a fever tree tonic.OMG -it was fantastic and 10/10 for presentation and taste. I normally drink Strongbow so this could get dangerous. Impressed

Un grand changement au saracens, nouveaux dirigeants, nouveau chef, nouveau superbe bar a gin et cocktails, nouvelles animations, tout est fait pour se sentir bien et déguster une nourriture haut de gamme dans un établissement au style PUB très prononcé, avec des extérieurs superbes , une visite a cet établissement fera de vous un client heureux et fidèle pour l'avenir , très belle découverte que nous avons fait et que nous souhaiterions faire partager

The pub has a nice atmosphere and is nicely decorated however when we went to try the new gin bar we were slightly disappointed. We waited a long time to be served despite there only being 2 people in front of us. When we did get served I ordered a speciality gin and basically made it myself the bar tender had no idea what he needed to put in and took away the novelty of a gin cocktail by just asking me if i wanted any garnish in my drink. I am aware that is a minor complaint however it would have been nice to be given an attractive cocktail. Other staff were messing about on an ipad and not serving which left customers a little annoyed. Hope it improves as during the summer it could be great!

Called in with my husband after seeing the re pening date on Facebook and thought we would give it a try.

La comida no era muy agradable en general, no volveremos.

Had a brilliant time tonight. We were served by a lovely, short young man. I think Matt was his name. He may have been short on stature, he was high on laughs though. Will come again.

Es un pub genial. Si usted está tratando de evitar, ya que los intentos de Stockton Heath para convertirse en la nueva Alderley Edge. Entonces este es el lugar para ti. Been here a couple of times this month. Nice bar staff and good pub food with some good offers. Food and drink are a steal considering other close pubs which aren't as good

We visited the Saracens Head with friends for whom this is their local. A most pleasant welcome into a pub that has retained its character and has several separate rooms - rather than the one large area deemed "fashionable" in many pubs today. What a refreshing and welcome change. and with staff who actually care about their customers and wanted to serve rather than just take orders and money!! We were all warmly greeted and thoroughly enjoyed the service and non-intrusive attention as we enjoyed sunday lunch - which was excellent quality, quantity and value. Oh for pubs like this "down south".

Have eaten here numerous times over the last 12 months, can't fault the food, especially now it's under new management. Where this place really excels is the outdoor seating and play area. Old bowling green is now a play area with plenty of space to have a game of football with the kids. Great on a summers evening to let the little ones burn off some steam in a safe environment.

Last minute lunch with family after sitting on the motorway for two hours. A lovely warm welcome greeted us, great park and field for the children to run around. We all enjoyed our lunch. Food was excellent, home made burger is recommended.

We went for a meal out for my brothers 60th birthday on Sunday to the Saracens Head. We'd heard it had been taken over and the food was better so we gave it a go. Have to say it wasn't much better, the portions were very tiny and not really all that hot, some of the items they had run out of, ie the mash and my sister-in-law should of had onion rings which just weren't there! It was edible though but we were expecting better. The service is good and the staff very friendly.

The pub had only one customer when the 14 walkers arrived. Only one barmaid was on duty but she worked quickly to first take the drinks order and then the food.

Visited several times and the service is always great and the beer good. On the downside all the meals I've had there have been on the small side and sometimes not brilliantly cooked. Good pub though and would visit again for drinks.

We'd heard this local pub had been taken over by new management, so we thought we'd pop in for a bit of lunch, just a drink and a sandwich, nothing too fancy. We were served by Holly, who was very friendly and helpful. Chef Martin prepared our food very quickly, brought it to us, and found time for a chat. Just what we wanted - a proper sandwich, suitable for a light lunch - a lot of pubs these days seem to want to serve something pretentious rather a simple wholesome meal. Tried the Cake of the Day for afters - carrot cake, mmm! We didn't study the rest of the menu in any great detail, but it looked like there were plenty of choices, and you could ask for something not on the menu if you fancied it! Looked like a good choices of beers as well. Overall, it was like a pub should be .... thoroughly recommended.

This has apparently recently been taken over by a new couple. It was busy for food orders even so the food arrived in a reasonable time and was very nice at a great price.The sunday roast was £6 and the meat was very tender and tasty.The staff were very friendly and flexible and were willing to change my order to to suit my special dietary requirement.There were plenty of families there which was nice to see and the outside is great for kids with a large play area.

Always a warm welcome here - even under new management still remains a very pleasant place - very attentative service nothing too much trouble. Food cooked very well and good value. Pie of the day looked excellent with a rise of puff pastry any Bake Off finalist would be proud of! Good selection of beers for the real alers! Definately recommend this traditional pub to all and will be back again on our next trip to Warrington no doubt!

The Saracens Head as now changed hands and at the moment still running with the menu but we shall be changing the menu within the next few, come in and join us for food and drink and a warm welcome from Patsy, Martin and family and our fab team of staff x

We wanted to try somewhere local with disabled access. We hadn't been here before but this place fit the bill exactly. Was a bit worried about the recent reviews posted but needn't have been. The food was from the freezer and very probably the gravy from granules but it was well put together and very tasty. (Not all ping-and-bring food is awful). The shared starter was excellent in presentation and taste and the turkey roast dinner was plentiful. We were happy to pay £40 for 4 people coming away with full stomachs. This pub has loads of character and would definitely go again.

great setting and surroundings, and the manageress, was very helpful and accommodating. However, the food was dreadful. not home made and tasteless. If their cook was as good as the owners are enthusiastic, it would be a restaurant.

Waited ages for lunch for 3 people just sandwiches and chips. Gravy came with granules floating in it so it hadn't even been stirred properly. Prices way too high for the standard of the food.

Very quiet at lunch time. Ordered chicken burger and chips. The burger buns was so stale it fell apart you couldn't pick up the budget. When we advised waiting on staff he said new buns only started using them that day!! Apple and blueberry flapjack for desert was actually crumble not flapjack.Really had better meal.

We decided last minute to go for a roast on Father's Day and fully expected to struggle to get in anywhere, but the Saracens Head was nearly empty so we gave it a go. The food was really good and the staff were friendly and helpful. I don't know if we just went at a quiet time, but we were surprised at how empty it was. Definitely worth a visit.

First visit to The Saracens Head since we came to live in Warrington. We both ordered Fish & Chips from the "two meals for £12" section of the Menu. However, we did even better price-wise because we were able to hand over our 10% discount voucher gained by registering as a supporter! The meal was excellent and the service efficient and friendly. We will definitely go there again.

Have been here for drinks and to eat several times now. Have never had a bad meal at the Saracens head. Would especially recommend the chocolate waffle meltdown for desert!!

I have been to The Saracens Head on a few occasions, and always had a lovely time & made to feel welcomed. The staff are very friendly, and good service. It has some good beers on tap, and great to play pool. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere.

Never having been here before I called in this evening to meet done friends, what a cracking pub, great ambience and JW Lees beers on tap, I'll be calling in again, soon!

We have eaten here twice now at lunchtime and both times we have been very satisfied with our visit. From the welcome on our arrival to the quality of the drinks, food and service, the whole experience was top quality.The place itself is very pleasant and comfortable. Only just across the canal bridge from the popular village of Stockton Heath it is worth the extra couple of hundred yards to travel to it.

I would say Great little pub, only it's quite big with bags of personality, good music, good selection of beer and above all very friendly and accomodating professional staff! I moved house and now walk an extra mile past about 5 other pubs to call this my local! Didn't know what to do with myself when it was being returned to it's new sheek yet sympathetic new interior! Massive over sized gigantism thumbs up!!

Absolutely love this pub! We've been here lots of times in the last couple of months and have always received a wonderful welcome! The food is great and consistent and it's the perfect place to wind down! We're proud to call it our local! Fantastic, keep it up! :-)

Lovely tradional pub, sympathetically renovated, good food, pleasant staff & nice ales. This place is worth a visit. Stumbled across this pub following recommendation of salesman in better bathrooms and were pleasantly surprised. Had lovely meal in lovely surroundings. Try it out.

This recently refurbished pub is very formulaic and clearly a missed opportunity for the brewery. No doubt it'll do well due to all the new houses being built literally next door. It won't though attract people out of Stockton Heath's far better pubs.The JW Lees beers were ok but waiting for over 5 minutes to be served (on June 21st) in a pretty much empty pub wasn't great. It would have helped if the barman had shown some awareness and used a stock "sorry for the wait" but he didn't.Some work to be done here but the place is pleasant enough, if bland, and so we might come back and try the food one day.

Main meals were absolutely gorgeous. Only gripe was that no sticky toffee pudding available for dessert so opted for duet of mousses which were frozen so couldn't eat them. Apart from that couldn't fault the place. Service great & it has had a complete renovation which is really comfy & welcoming.

Ate at this for many years, has a play area for kids outside and a indoor one. The menu has a lot of choice and great prices to match. All the food we have ever been given has been hot, never wrong always what we ordered. The manager is very helpful and goes that extra step. It's an old pub and the good charm about it, don't see why people would complain, great pub, great value and great staff. Good job guys!

called in on the off chance for lunch, was not dissapointed at all. Food was hot and if you love your food plenty of it too. My husband is the food expert and is very particular where his food is concerned, but assure you there was no compliants at all, which I can tell you is a rare thing..... great place for lunch or even dinner (never been at night) i would think. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
