The Millcroft Hotel in Highland

We turned up on a Sunday night tired and hungry. Walked in and Scotland are losing 3:0 to Greece… oh dear. But the lady behind the bar was ace, looked after us really well. I had battered haddock and my wife went for a burger. Both were decent maybe a few too many chips but that always happens. The beer was spot on and wifey liked her wine. Really friendly place to eat and we’ll be back to try the curries.

We stayed here recently while travelling the NC500. The young staff were excellent - polite, courteous, respectful, etc. The food was plentiful but average quality; similar to that served in a low-end pub.

Chambre (la n°27), très étroite. On pouvait tout juste passer de chaque côté du lit. Une seule lampe de chevet pour 2. Salle de bain spacieuse, avec sanitaires neufs. Mais, la remise en état n'a pas été terminée : écailles de peinture, il a dû y avoir par le passé une tablette pour poser les accessoires de toilette mais elle n'a pas été remplacée, pas de prise pour rasoir ou sèche-cheveux. Côté restaurant, il y a apparemment un problème de personnel en cuisine. Le soir nous avons attendu nos plats 35 mn après avoir passé commande et le matin plus de 20 mn au petit-déjeuner. A ce sujet, si vous demandez un chocolat chaud, précisez bien avec du lait. On m'a servi du cacao dilué dans de l'eau chaude. J'ai dû demander une tasse de lait chaud avec de la poudre de cacao à côté. Ma demande a un peu surpris le personnel (bien brave ...)

We went out tonight for a family meal at the mill croft hotel in Gairloch as we were in Gairloch for a few daysHolidays and found the meals in the place terrible and took a long time to get to our table our meals and it was unable to be eaten some of the food but the rest of the dishes he served was not very good also… My daughter left her meal due to so salty ..and after complaining to deputy manager who was serving us on the night was not very nice about the situation when we complained- At first he seemed ok when he was serving our table first before the meals came out to the table and after it As we complained to him but as we told him about the meals he was not that concerned about.. it’s .how we do it he said I was not pleased With his answer very unhelpful and taken back by his answer.. my daughter felt sick with the salt on her meal from the kitchen and he thought it was ok To serve that kind of meals It was a terrible night out for us in that hotel ruined our night ..

On the menu, standard pub fare. On the plate, I thought that the steak pie was outstanding, though the chicken curry could have done with a bit of spicing-up. Overall, a good meal made even better by the Maltsmith’s beer. Thanks for recommending it! All came with charming service.

The hotel is situated central in Gairloch. We had a en suite with view to the beach and sea. Everything was clean and the food in the restaurant as well as the breakfast was really good. It seemed that the room as well as some other rooms were renovated not long ago. But somehow it felt a bit old timey. The staff was really friendly and kind. Duncan was a very good host with good hospitality.

Stayed overnight and had dinner & breakfast on our NC500 trip The staff were very friendly & helpful & food & service was good. Room was average & mattress was not very comfortable but good food & good location

Our room was fine... the hotel is very old fashioned and the service is awful. I rang twice and e mailed the hotel the day before our arrival .. no answer to any .. .... i wanted to book an evening meal. So glad i didnt now. The service we received was terrible. We ordered breakfast.. it took about 25 mins to arrive. My husband asked for ketchup.. by the time the guy brought it over he had just finished his meal. He had asked for fried egg and got scrambled..They brought tea and coffee and no milk. I had to go and ask for it. Very poot selection with the continental breakfast. We are on the NC500 and out of 9 hotels this was the worst. Its a shame because our room was great and its in a lovely location. We had great views from our window. The service received lets this hotel down and i would definitely not stay again.

Daniel the manager was the highlight of our stay here. Himself and the hotel demonstrated true Highland hospitality something rarely seen nowadays. We’d definitely come back. Perfect room with great shower, quality breakfast with a great view.

Nous avons dîné dans le restaurant de l’hôtel Millcroft qui propose une cuisine traditionnelle avec des produits de la mer ou des plats faits maison. Le personnel est gentil et l’accueil agréable. Le service a été rapide et le rapport qualité / prix tout à fait correct. Nous recommandons !

We spent one night at the Hotel in a room with a wonderful view over the beach, everything very well maintained. Because we were tired, we decided to have our Dinner in the restaurant which was obviously a good decision. The steak was on the point "medium", and the lamb shank simply delicious, both accompanied by vegetables "al dente" ans not cooked to death. Gaelic chocolate mousse was a perfect dessert even fine for the two of us. Service was attentive and nice.

Great staff 10/10 very experienced, meal was incredible and i will definitely be back. Guy in the bar with the bald head and the muscles was very handsome I hope to see him again soon. Cheers.

Went recently for a family gathering dinner and the food was excellent, great quality food and top class service
