Great food, really nice quality and arrives hot.

Lovely little spot for lunch, their Feta Salad was delicious, service was great. I would highly recommend, especially as they now serve beer and wine.

Excellent service. We both had Cappuccinos and food. No scrimping on the coffee used to make the Cappuccinos. The cheese on toast was perfect. The home made chutney is out of this world - one of the very best that I have had . The venue in Mill Yard is like the coffee establishments we used to have in England. These have mostly vanished - well we have one in Bedford. Would strongly recommend.

This is quite a nice place to catch a quick sandwich whilst in Bedford. What it lacks in charm it more than makes up for in its service and freshness, there are not many places in this area that I can recommend, but I can with this one, worth your time.

i’ve been a regular at TMYCL for quite a while. it’s a quiet spot in the centre of town, especially lovely to sit outside. there is a wide menu (breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, salads) with lots of veggie options. they’re happy to adjust dishes for you too, and have gorgeous homemade cakes!! Suresh truly goes the extra mile to get to know his customers and accommodate their preferences, making a really comfortable experience. I can’t recommend this cafe enough.

I simply ordered a double espresso, the service was fine, the lady at the counter was quite friendly despite the less than perfect english. But the rest was not good. Firstly, the ambience is probably one of the worst I’ve experienced, there is a distinct lack of music making the whole experience … boring? The decor is quite tacky and the seating is not beautiful nor is it very comfortable. The worst aspect was the disgusting smell permeating the air. It smelled of a mix of urine, retirement home, old glue, and rotting wood; there is barely any smell of coffee once i finished my espresso. And now the coffee… very disappointing. The cafe touts the use of Illy coffee, but that means nothing when it doesn’t taste that good. Firstly, it lacks a thick crema, meaning that the beans were not fresh. Second, the coffee was served much too hot, even after waiting several minutes sipping was nigh painful, the extremely warm cup didn’t help either, while i always appreciate a warmed coffee cup the cup that was used kept the coffee much too hot for too long, although i did like it visually and it had a nice weight to it. The coffee itself is an italian dark roast, but it lacked nuanced flavour and just tasted like a bitter cup with slight cocoa notes, you can get far superior dark italian roasts in Bedford. Overall I will not return here, nor would i advise anyone to come here. Quite a shame considering the great reviews, I hope i just got unlucky.

Fount this lovely little coffee shop tucked away in bedford Town. Was shopping with a friend and wanted to rest our legs and get a coffee. Not been here before but it's a lovely little coffee shop with some eye catching sweet treats.

I had a Caesar salad, a capuccino and a brownie( dellicious) at 11 am. Outstanding customer service. I will go back soon. Perfect for book reading.

This is a brilliant, reasonably priced place to grab breakfast. Really friendly welcome and service. Excellent vegan breakfast and my friend said her bacon and sausage sandwich was really good. Lovely Illy coffee too. A hidden gem in the town centre!

We had a very nice time at the Mill Yard cafe. It was a Mother’s Day treat by our children. The service was excellent and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. It is a quaint cafe, situated in a beautiful side street. Thank you for a lovely time. Will surely be visiting again in the summer.

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch other than the usual large franchise suspects and happened across the Mill Yard Coffee Lounge. The food was lovely and quick to be served. It was much more satisfying coming here and supporting a local business which we always like to do. I really enjoyee my lunch, much more than a quick burger from somewhere. Will definitely be coming here again next time we're in Bedford.

This is now my go to coffee shop when in Bedford. Great tasting coffee and food and excellent service. In my opinion this is the best coffee shop in the area.

Food was only warm. Even though it was delivered in a thermal bag. Nice breakfast. Quality ingredients. The halloumi and pepper wrap was pretty tasteless sadly. A massive positive was the double expresso!! Not a single drop had leaked. The coffee was fabulous!!

Lovely independent café! Stopped by for an impromptu lunch and had a really great time. Lovely service - when I mentioned I have a couple of intolerances, they were really great ensuring that none of the ingredients in the (delicious) chicken caesar salad would be an issue. Coffee was also lovely too, and a nice little courtyard outside for a sunny day!

Couldn't have been more welcoming! Nothing was too much trouble, lovely staff and the food was absolutely amazing, even though we had perhaps the pickiest tribe of children! It was so fresh and delicious! Would really recommend hunting this place out!

This little gem is tucked away and I recommend finding it. Absolutely delicious chicken burger, everything was really fresh and they couldn't have been more helpful, particularly when it came to picky children. Would heartily recommend!

Ordered a sausage bacon egg sandwich received toasted bread in my opinion that would be a toasty sandwich bread shouldn’t be toasted. There was an option for sauce in my sandwich I chose tomato ketchup to pay 25p for 10g of cheap tomato ketchup sauce

Ordered bacon sarnies, came toasted didn’t ask for that, hardly any bacon & overcooked. Disappointed

Lovely little cafe. I had a great iced coffee and fruit scone and my friend had a latte and a sausage and bacon bap. Everything was delicious and especially the illy coffee. The guy who served us was very friendly, possibly the owner? The toilet was nice and clean. We can't wait to return to this gem!

We had a lovely breakfast at The Mill Yard Coffee Lounge this morning. I had a bacon and egg sandwich and my husband had scrambled eggs. Both freshly cooked, hot and quality ingredients used (Woburn bacon) Gentleman was friendly and chatty when he seated us Prices were reasonable too

Decided to finally check this place out- in an alley, next to boutiques and salons. Nice cozy atmosphere, seating indoors and outside in the courtyard. The food was delicious- staff customized my burger without problems. Will definitely return.

Perfect place for lunch, breakfast and dinner. Friendly vibes all around the well presented little cafe. Options to sit in or out with both being quiet and peaceful. Great chips too with the halloumi burger tasting amazing.

Really enjoyed our visit here 2 of us had the Halloumi burgers which were delicious..the 3rd had a beef burger chips were hot and fresh salad crisp and fresh too. Coffe good and pleased Fentimans ginger beer available Staf were very pleasant and friendly Service good . Short wait but to me that means food being cooked! Not cheap but good value..even burger buns not average catering stuff Will definitely go again

An excellent coffee shop in a walkway between buildings. The owner and staff always have a smile on their faces, offering a chuckle with every customer coming in for refreshments. The regular customers are always friendly and offer a good chat if you are looking for one.

Went here today for a spot of lunch and to do some work. Covid restrictions in place and being adhered to. Scanning on entry. I opted for the homemade carrot and coriander soup and what a great choice, homemade bread too. The biggest bowl to fill my tummy with. Flavoured to perfection. Such cosy food for a cold autumn day. It was a little cold in the cafe so they offered to put a heater on for me which was very nice. The only thing I would say is, maybe change the tea bags to either loose tea or change to a Yorkshire tea. Especially with the hard water in the area the tea would be so much nice. But that’s because I’m a bit of a tea lover. Thank you to the both of you.

We visit here a few times a month, sometimes for breakfast which is excellent. The choice is great and the staff are helpful with choice and small changes if you cant see what you want. The food is fresh and tasty.

I was hungry and happened upon the Mill Yard Cafe. I ordered a bacon sandwich. I was expecting three bits of bacon in two limp pieces of white bread. I was willing to add the brown sauce myself. As the waitress approached the table I caught a delicate scent in the air. It was as if an angel had ever so gently waved a slice of heavens bacon under my nose. Just gently...just enough. The waitress placed the plate on the table, which was impeccably clean, and I thought she’d made a mistake. I was about to raise my hand to catch her attention when I saw it - the bacon. It was a rosiest shade of pink I’ve ever seen. I knew I was seeing something special. Instantly my mouth filled with saliva in anticipation of what was to come. My mouth has never done that before and I have eaten food on three different continents. I took the sandwich in my hand, although ‘sandwich’ hardly seems appropriate for the masterpiece I was holding, and I took a bite.Now, I have tasted tastes. I have eaten lasagna made by 75 year old Italian grandma’s. I’ve eaten in Dubai’s 5* hotels. I’ve eaten street food in Bangkok, which I’m sure was still crawling when plated. But nothing compared to that day on a cold Bedford morning in Mill Yard.The bacon must have been rolled on the inner thighs of Neptune’s own concubines, so perfect was its saltiness. The bread, made from wheat harvested from Heaven’s own golden fields. And the lettuce; so crisp it could have withstood the tapdance of a fairy princess but nothing more, before it cracked and exploded with flavour.I have since that day struggled to eat again. Of course I have, or I would have surely died by now. But that, that day...the culinary eloquence bestowed upon me that day has changed my life.

We called in for lunch; there was a risotto on the daily special board and a selection of club sandwiches on the main menu. They use the highest quality ingredients which makes the sandwich’s a real flavour fest. Portion size is very good.
