I had a Caesar salad, a capuccino and a brownie( dellicious) at 11 am. Outstanding customer service. I will go back soon. Perfect for book reading.

We had a very nice time at the Mill Yard cafe. It was a Mother’s Day treat by our children. The service was excellent and the food was freshly cooked and delicious. It is a quaint cafe, situated in a beautiful side street. Thank you for a lovely time. Will surely be visiting again in the summer.

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch other than the usual large franchise suspects and happened across the Mill Yard Coffee Lounge. The food was lovely and quick to be served. It was much more satisfying coming here and supporting a local business which we always like to do. I really enjoyee my lunch, much more than a quick burger from somewhere. Will definitely be coming here again next time we're in Bedford.

Lovely independent café! Stopped by for an impromptu lunch and had a really great time. Lovely service - when I mentioned I have a couple of intolerances, they were really great ensuring that none of the ingredients in the (delicious) chicken caesar salad would be an issue. Coffee was also lovely too, and a nice little courtyard outside for a sunny day!

Couldn't have been more welcoming! Nothing was too much trouble, lovely staff and the food was absolutely amazing, even though we had perhaps the pickiest tribe of children! It was so fresh and delicious! Would really recommend hunting this place out!

Lovely little cafe. I had a great iced coffee and fruit scone and my friend had a latte and a sausage and bacon bap. Everything was delicious and especially the illy coffee. The guy who served us was very friendly, possibly the owner? The toilet was nice and clean. We can't wait to return to this gem!

We had a lovely breakfast at The Mill Yard Coffee Lounge this morning. I had a bacon and egg sandwich and my husband had scrambled eggs. Both freshly cooked, hot and quality ingredients used (Woburn bacon) Gentleman was friendly and chatty when he seated us Prices were reasonable too

Decided to finally check this place out- in an alley, next to boutiques and salons. Nice cozy atmosphere, seating indoors and outside in the courtyard. The food was delicious- staff customized my burger without problems. Will definitely return.

Had a delicious breakfast here on Saturday and the staff (just 1 person!) was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be back.

Great place! Nice people and food/drinks were brilliant. We had avocado toast and sausage/egg sandwich - all very tasty. Setting is in a super cute courtyard.

Really enjoyed our visit here 2 of us had the Halloumi burgers which were delicious..the 3rd had a beef burger chips were hot and fresh salad crisp and fresh too. Coffe good and pleased Fentimans ginger beer available Staf were very pleasant and friendly Service good . Short wait but to me that means food being cooked! Not cheap but good value..even burger buns not average catering stuff Will definitely go again

My friend & I have had lunch here quite regularly. Staff are very pleasant & helpful. Food is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. An enjoyable experience.

An excellent coffee shop in a walkway between buildings. The owner and staff always have a smile on their faces, offering a chuckle with every customer coming in for refreshments. The regular customers are always friendly and offer a good chat if you are looking for one.

Went here today for a spot of lunch and to do some work. Covid restrictions in place and being adhered to. Scanning on entry. I opted for the homemade carrot and coriander soup and what a great choice, homemade bread too. The biggest bowl to fill my tummy with. Flavoured to perfection. Such cosy food for a cold autumn day. It was a little cold in the cafe so they offered to put a heater on for me which was very nice. The only thing I would say is, maybe change the tea bags to either loose tea or change to a Yorkshire tea. Especially with the hard water in the area the tea would be so much nice. But that’s because I’m a bit of a tea lover. Thank you to the both of you.

Amazing little place totally tucked easy from all the noise of the high street. Beautifully prepared food and so fresh. Staff lovely. Highly recommended, the srvice was quick with smiling staff a real treasure.

We visit here a few times a month, sometimes for breakfast which is excellent. The choice is great and the staff are helpful with choice and small changes if you cant see what you want. The food is fresh and tasty.

I was hungry and happened upon the Mill Yard Cafe. I ordered a bacon sandwich. I was expecting three bits of bacon in two limp pieces of white bread. I was willing to add the brown sauce myself. As the waitress approached the table I caught a delicate scent in the air. It was as if an angel had ever so gently waved a slice of heavens bacon under my nose. Just gently...just enough. The waitress placed the plate on the table, which was impeccably clean, and I thought she’d made a mistake. I was about to raise my hand to catch her attention when I saw it - the bacon. It was a rosiest shade of pink I’ve ever seen. I knew I was seeing something special. Instantly my mouth filled with saliva in anticipation of what was to come. My mouth has never done that before and I have eaten food on three different continents. I took the sandwich in my hand, although ‘sandwich’ hardly seems appropriate for the masterpiece I was holding, and I took a bite.Now, I have tasted tastes. I have eaten lasagna made by 75 year old Italian grandma’s. I’ve eaten in Dubai’s 5* hotels. I’ve eaten street food in Bangkok, which I’m sure was still crawling when plated. But nothing compared to that day on a cold Bedford morning in Mill Yard.The bacon must have been rolled on the inner thighs of Neptune’s own concubines, so perfect was its saltiness. The bread, made from wheat harvested from Heaven’s own golden fields. And the lettuce; so crisp it could have withstood the tapdance of a fairy princess but nothing more, before it cracked and exploded with flavour.I have since that day struggled to eat again. Of course I have, or I would have surely died by now. But that, that day...the culinary eloquence bestowed upon me that day has changed my life.

We called in for lunch; there was a risotto on the daily special board and a selection of club sandwiches on the main menu. They use the highest quality ingredients which makes the sandwich’s a real flavour fest. Portion size is very good.

Excellent food and service, friendly staff and good portions of food for the price. Atmosphere relaxed not rushed to get you out, so you can enjoy your food which you will and to top it of all off, the cakes are home made.

Recommendation was made to this little gem of a place by the jewellery shop nearby and we were not disappointed.This lovely cafe is hidden away in a little oasis of peace and calm.Coffee was piping hot, just as I like it and the iced coffee was delicious and came with the coffee in a separate jar so you could add it to your taste. The cakes, what can I say, absolutely gorgeous. We each tasted a little of each others, fabulous ! We don’t live in Bedford, but will be back for more.

We had a family celebration here for my grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary. We had the place to ourselves for an evening with a menu that we created with Frank. The food was absolutely delicious and the setting was perfect. Frank and Christine were amazing hosts! So friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All of their efforts and the perfect setting resulted in an evening that we will never forget. All generations of the family enjoyed it. Thank you for such a perfect night!

We visited after a few years absence and were totally impressed. We think it has new ownership and if not then certainly new kitchen staff. Simple lunch options like cheese on toast and cheesy scones, with homemade onion chutney and local bacon. These were yummy!!!!!! Lovely coffee too. This is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or just a coffee stop, with both inside and outside eating areas. It's one minute from the high street.

100 metres from the noisy main street in Bedford you will find this haven of peace, quite and brilliant food and coffee, Special 'treat' nights as well from time-to-time.

There is an excellent range of foods on the menu . Portion size is good and the quality ingredients shine through. The specials , listed on a board by the counter are well worth considering. The coffee is superb .

Set in a quiet yard in the centre of Bedford, the café has a mouthwatering range of choices for lunches, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. All dishes are generous in size and freshly prepared. Menu also includes children's options and a wide range of hot and cold drinks - the coffee is delicious! Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors in the peaceful yard that used to be part of a mill. Not expensive. Well worth a visit.

Popped in yesterday before the long drive home. Good selection of cakes etc on offer. Really good coffee and the strawberry tart was a delight.

Had the whole cafe for our 40th wedding anniversary celebration. The food that Frank prepared was absolutely amazing so much we even had enough to bring home. Everyone of our party thoroughly enjoyed it. Thankyou Frank for an unforgettable evening.

Good coffee and delicious sandwiches. The decor is super cosy and bright. The place is a little too cold for this weather. The service was friendly but seemed a little distant. There are various types of sandwiches to try, mind...they are quite expensive. I find it difficult not to recommend this place, but if you're looking for a cheap eat. This ain't it.

Very nice cafe, I had checked it out on the web as I needed to kill some time waiting for car repairs.

When entering I asked where they would like me to sit as I was on my own - i was told anywhere would be fine. Having just finished a nice sandwich and enjoying my coffee I was told I had to move because someone else wanted the table i was occupying (although they had other vacant tables!) - I was not happy, I quickly finished my coffee and left, i will not be returning!! Very Poor management Mill Yard!!

I regularly visit this gorgeous little cafe secreted away from the main hubbub of the town centre. The service is always exemplary and the food and coffee is of the highest standard. It is not the cheapest cafe in town but there is a reason for that, only the best local ingredients are sourced for the excellent menu which is changed just often enough to keep things interesting whilst knowing that your favourites will still be there.

This gorgeous little coffee shop is tucked away from the craziness of the town centre in a perfect location. Its super cute and has the BEST scones. We enjoyed them so much we asked the owner to make us 20 for a private work function and everyone loved them :)

Visited thus place today for tea and cake, the cake I ordered was stale the tea was awe full. They did change the tart for a danish but that was no better and it was freezing. Will not be going back.

I visited with my dad and for a lovely brunch. He had the breakfast sandwich which was perfect and I had meant to go for a breakfast/brunch option, but couldn’t get past the club sandwich page. I went for a classic club and was far from disappointed. It filled me up for the day. Lots of fresh ingredients and the black bacon made it. A lovely pot of tea and good coffee. Service was super good and friendly.

Can't rave about this place enough! We were there for lunch today. We were greeted by the friendly chef and waitresses as soon as we got there. Service was polite yet unintrusive throughout. The place was very clean. The menu is a little limited but the food was delicious. We had mushroom and bacon pasta. A simple dish, yet so flavourful, and the presentation was lovely: heaped with rocket and parmesan. Looked as lovely as it tasted. On settling the bill, I couldn't resist the chocolate mousse cake! I asked if I could have a takeaway and it was no trouble, boxed up really nicely. I'm eating it now and it's divine!! So moist and not too sweet. Thanks to all the team serving today: keep doing what you do! Will definitely be coming back to this brilliant and friendly little find.

Decent service had Amercano and fruit tea. Didn't wait long, they were busy as the Mill Yard is a sun trap. They do decent meals inside or on their patio.
