Hadn't been for several months owing to ill health and the service and quality of the food is still as good as ever.My only complaint and is with several restaurants I visit is that the menu is never changed and that you get fed up with the same old offerings.I was in the trade for 30 years and always made sure that my menu changed every six months taking off a few items but keeping the most popular items.I'm sure i'm not on my own in saying that this is the reason that i do not come here more regularly which is a shame as the food is excellent.

Have just spent the afternoon celebrating a colleagues Retirement afternoon tea. Words can’t express how good it was!! We had a varied selection of freshly made sandwiches including, Prawns, cheese, home baked ham, BLT, tuna or egg, all garnished with salad. - brown and white bread. Home made scones (plain or with fruit) jam and cream, summer fruit meringue, chocolate eclair and bara brith. The tea and coffee pots were refilled regularly. All lovely!! The staff were constantly busy with other customers, but still had time to care for us! Can highly recommend.

We chose this place for its gluten free Roast Dinner and it did not disappoint. The staff were v knowledgeable on cross contamination and ingredients in all their dishes. Sophia took our order and gave me confidence that my meal would be fine and it was. Being vegetarian too I’m awkward but this wasn’t a problem, she made sure I got a delicious roast and plenty of choice for dessert. Highly recommended.

We've been to the Mill a few times over the years, can't fault their Welsh breakfast, very nice and filling. Went yesterday on the off chance looking for lunch, they were fully booked, but offered us the seating area where they've got low tables. But as we were early, they kindly arranged a table for us by the door. My wife is meat and dairy free, and they offered to adapt a few of the Sunday menu items for her fsir play. We opted for the roast salmon and beef dinner. Amazing, as you can see from the pics, nice warm home made rolls to begin, with proper nutter for me and dairy free for my wife. Two clean plates, and all for £40 including a couple of soft drinks. We'll be back, but will book next time as they do get very busy ' a good sign!

My husband and I often dine here as it never disappoints. Last night I went to a leaving do party for a work friend and we had an absolutely brilliant hot buffet - lasagne, chicken curry, vegetarian curry, rice, naan bread, chunky chips, salad and coleslaw. Chef Timi excelled with the flavours, as always, while Sophia and her staff were extremely welcoming and efficient front-of-house. Wonderful place to hold a function.

My brother is a regular here for breakfast on a Sunday and has taken us three times on recent weekend stays with him. Twice we have sat in brilliant sunshine on the terrace outside, on the last visit we were indoors in the most attractive and spotless dining room. The food and service are outstanding, between us we have tried just about everything on the menu and it is all absolutely delicious. My brother always goes for the smoked haddock with poached eggs and I was tempted to try this on our last visit. It was fantastic - a large piece of perfectly cooked haddock in a creamy sauce with no less than 3 poached eggs on top!! My husband tried the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon - again a very generous portion of salmon. We have also in the past tried the bacon baps and full breakfast, everything is cooked to perfection. The chef is a genius! The service from Sophia and her staff is first class - they attend to customers immediately they arrive and bring a bottle of water to the table. We cannot praise The Mill highly enough and will be back again soon!

Poor customer service from the minute we stepped foot inside. Asked for a reservation for a Friday evening, abruptly told £10 per person deposit (even for a child!), no reason or T&C’s about the deposit advised. We nipped in for a quick coffee and cake the next morning (a few mins before 11am). Again rude and unwelcoming staff. There were two tables of people sat in with plenty of tables available, we were just told these were all booked for 12 or 1pm. Even after us explaining again we only wanted a quick drink (and cake) & wouldn’t exactly take over an hour to do this! We did manage to get shoved in the corner and got our drinks (and cake). We realised when the drinks arrived we had been charged £3 for a very small glass of children’s cordial! Having checked the menu this was wrong so had to ask for a refund from a grumpy staff member. At the same time we decided that this place wasn’t for us for our planned evening meal so asked to cancel our evening booking and get our refund back. Unhelpful staff again not wanting to refund us straight away saying not entitled. Did finally get it with the staff member who refunded us saying, ‘Don’t come here again’ I tell you what, we don’t want to visit such a horrid place, never have we experienced such rude staff!!! I would AVOID this place.

What a lovely meal, the reviews were spot on. My friends each had the hake and I had the chickpea, cannellini bean and coriander roast, all were delicious. The desserts were similarly moorish (I could have eaten another sticky toffee pudding!) We shared a bottle of wine, had two coffees each and the price those and for two courses each of us was £112 which I think very reasonable. It deserves to be busier than it was on Sunday. Highly recommended

The website promised so much but the reality was far worse. We travelled there to sample chef Tomasz’ local produce and special dishes. Instead there was a list of basic dishes one would find in a garden centre cafe. Very few hot food choices and even less for those who prefer fish and not meat. We were forced to order fish and chips as hungry. We checked that it would be fresh fish and light crisp batter. The waitress confirmed it would be but what arrived was not fresh as we both had identical looking fish, smooth in appearance and not crispy at all. Worse still it had thick batter, was very greasy, and laden with unpalatable oil. Also the smell and the taste of the chips were not good and we had no choice to hand the food back to the kitchen. We then had to order a replacement which resembled a breakfast choice and not what we intended at all. It was passable however the few bites from the previous dish had left us with a very bad taste in our mouths. Furthermore, at £2.50 for tea (London prices) you expect a good brew. Instead we got something flavourless and weak more akin to dishwater. Such an enormous letdown. We left believing welsh cuisine has nothing to offer. Do not believe everything you read on a website. This is not fresh, inventive cuisine but a cafe with basic, poorly executed dishes. Will not return or recommend.

I was going to give this a one star rating but thought I’d be fair even though to be honest the feedback was none existent when I messaged them to tell them about been ill after eating there . Myself partner were visiting my friend in Bangor and my sister in Caernarfon so my sister arranged for us to have afternoon tea here . We had 3 afternoon teas which to be honest were the most expensive afternoon teas I’ve ever had and my other half had a fish and chip meal . Anytime I’ve had afternoon tea I’ve always been allowed a cappuccino but not here . The sandwiches were lovely but the big issue was the clotted cream or whatever it was suppose to be for the scones . It was off . This is what gave myself and friend really bad stomaches . Crippling cramps and the dreaded D . We know it was this as my sister didn’t eat her scone with the cream and she was fine . I messaged them to let them know and didn’t get any apology . Nothing. It’s a shame as I would have returned but not just the cream that was sour but left a sour taste for me returning. They obviously don’t care about there customers. Again this would have been a 4 at least if there hadn’t been a issue with the cream and getting ill and some common decency from the owner / manager

Lovely food and friendly helpful staff we will certainly be calling again. I had the brioche bun with scrambled egg and smoked salmon - delicious and a good serving of smoked salmon - very enjoyable

We popped by for breakfast, very good! Only downfall was we ordered a side order of toast to come with our breakfasts as it was not included, only for it to arrive first. By time it came to eating the toast it was stone food so was left. Also would advise the staff taking the phone calls to maybe pop to the back, more than once we could not hear one another due to the staff on the phone being very loud.

Stayed on the camp site for a long weekend, after a disaster of a meal in Caernarfon the first day we checked in for breakfast the following morning. Once sampled, begged to be squeezed in that evening after walking Snowdon. Food and service was so good we checked in for breakfast the following day and negotiated another table for late Sunday lunch. Every dish was a delight, lovely atmosphere and great service. We will be back.

Going to regret this. As next time we book its going to be full. But for us a large family of 10. Grandparents kids and parents. Sunday lunch was perfect. From the salmon to the roast beef. To the kids Sausage dinners with proper Yorkshire Puddings. The sticky toffee Pudding. To my daughters white chocolate ice cream. Even the complimentary water, which was ice cold. And not your usual lukewarm tap water. Good service was given the restaurant was light and airy. It gets a massive thumbs up from all of us.

Came here for lunch with friends and we sat outside on the veranda, in the sun. Food was delicious. I had the Caesar salad, the poached egg was perfectly done and the dressing was delicious. Definitely worth coming here!!

I've been here many times and had breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner here. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food is always excellent. However, the afternoon tea I had was outstanding and I've had afternoon tea in many restaurants and cafes but this one outshone the rest.

We came here for a Saturday morning breakfast during a weekend visit to North Wales and are delighted that we did. We had the Full Welsh Breakfast and the Welsh Rarebit which were both perfect and extremely filling to set us up for our day. That plus a pot of tea and two hot chocolates gave us a bill of under £20. Given the setting, a lovely building with nice tables, a fire and some couches giving it a really nice feel, along with the good service, I thought the price was really fair and probably quite cheap. I'd definitely recommend a visit and will be looking at the evening menu.

We've been to two of the Occassional Cinema film nights here, and enjoyed a delicious meal at a table full of people some of whom we knew, others we didn't. First a Swedish film and second one set in Prague with a themed meal. The mushroom stroganoff and rosti in particular were gorgeous.

Camping at riverside for the weekend. Came for lunch first day once tent pitched. Lovely setting, clean and modern, lovely aspect. Food delicious and all 4 of us pleased including my 9 year old who loved the homemade chips! Will definitely be camping here again and definitely eating at the Mill.

Having been here for 2 weeks and struggled to find a decent restaurant with standards I said lets go out a bit farther and try this one as the reviews were good. Couldn't find it at first as its hidden in the riverside camping site, which incidentally is a beautiful site in a beautiful setting. First impressions were very good, it's very clean (no sticky tables) excellent menu, kids one too, staff are caring and attentive and the food was excellent. When the bill came it was a little higher than we've been used to up in NW but this was fine dining and well worth it as its far far better than anywhere we've tried. There are many places that could take a leaf out of this ones book.

We had a wonderful meal here whilst children and grandchildren camping at adjacent site. It was amazing. Where else can you have beautiful fine dining whilst the kids have sausage and mash? The lamb was amazing, the pork was fantastic and the sea bass was cooked to perfection. And the children loved their sausage and mash! The staff were efficient and friendly and the children were welcomed. Just a shame they were going home the next day or we would have been back, Well done everyone. It was a joy!

Super Bistro, lovely location, friendly and attentive staff who know how to treat customers. Lovely food, cooked and presented perfectly. My husband is very fussy and he's said the fish and chips followed by crumble and ice cream was the best he had tasted. Shame we live two hundred miles away as we would love to eat here more often. Can highly recommend.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening. We started with a drink on the terrace and we were given the option of eating out there too and we did. A beautiful view and a perfect spot to watch the sunset .Definitely planning on returning.

Called in for coffee and cakes. Took ages to be served but staff were pleasant. We sat upstairs and appreciated the heating being on as it was a cold day. The coffee was weak and we only drank it to warm us up. My dad’s iced bun was more like a rock cake. The bara brith we bought to take home was the worst we’ve ever had. Completely dry and tasteless. Best thing about this place was the clean loo. Would not return.
