Popped in on the off chance had fantastic breakfast staff amazing made too feel comfortable and relaxed

We called in for a burger and chips. It was massive. And the fries were plentiful. All for just £5. We chatted to the woman behind the counter who was Japanese and very friendly. We definitely want to go back to try their roast.

We pre- booked a table online for a party of 5 adults and 1 child for 5.30 yesterday afternoon ( a Thursday) and in line with Covid restrictions were told that we had it for one and a half hours. First issue was that we couldn't order on the app, it would accept the items but not proceed any further, so we ended up having to do a table service order. The drinks arrived fairly promptly, although my white wine Spirtzer arrived without any soda or ice,the 2 starters that were ordered also arrived but then we had a wait of well over an hour before any further food arrived, during which time numerous other tables ordered and received their food. When our order finally arrived, after asking about it twice, the chips in 2 of the meals were not hot and we had to ask for a replacement and a lot of the rest of the food was only just warm. If we'd have to stuck to the timescale we were quoted we would have been being asked to leave just as our food arrived !!! To say it was disappointing is something of an understatement! I have eaten here many times before and not encountered such problems, I know that we have to make allowances for the extra precautions needed due to Covid but the fact that a lot of people who arrived after us got their food first was extremely annoying and it wasn't as if they were just couples, they were parties of 4-5 people. They also forgot to add the NHS Blue Light card discount and although 2 of our party ordered the Thursday 'big plate special' that comes with a free dessert, we were unable to utilise this offer due to time constraints as 2 of the group had to get back to the station to catch a train.

Service was amazing especially from Ian the Land lord, food was hot and quick considering they were very busy. Mind you we wouldn't have minded waiting as such a lovely place & Weather. Ovid Measures are excellent and staff were all friendly

We go here too much!! We love the type of classic food on the menu and the full English all day breakfast is our favourite such a reasonable price for the big portions you receive! it's amazing. We swap some items and be quite awkward with our order but the couple that runs the place are more than happy to do it. They are so welcoming and friendly. The coffee is great I always have a vanilla latte perfect every time! If you are ever going through polegate definitely pop in as you can ask for takeaway too!

Went here for the first time today and was very impressed by the value for money and how nice the food was. Doesn’t look great from the outside which has always put us off but took the plunge today and will certainly be going back again. Freshly cooked. Huge mug of tea. Have no real negatives to be honest.

The female member of staff is very unfriendly - surly even. I would not recommend this cafe to anyone, in truth. The premises are small and somewhat cramped with the number of tables and chairs in situ.

With a couple of friends, we were looking for a late breakfast at around 11am in Polegate. We saw this café by the rail station and thought we would give it a go. Dont be put off by the decor, the food was fantastic and cooked to order. We all ordered the main breakfast and it was so filling. Had to ask separately for drinks, so almost went without, would have been nice to have been prompted and it wasn't clear what drinks were available. Could do better on the service but do not let that take the shine away from the good food which was cooked fresh as we ordered. Would happily go back to try the various lunches that were advertised, just a shame the service is not a bit more cheerful.

I have eaten here so many times. I have tried most of the menu and never been disappointed. They are willing to accommodate dietary needs and willing to adapt meals to suit. I thoroughly recommend them.

Cafés near British rail stations aren’t usually much good; unless you’re up for a cup of costa fortune and a cardboard pastry! The Mill Cafe is an exception. It is right next to the station; but the food is good....fresh, well cooked and nicely presented. Best described as English cuisine...e.g steak and kidney pie, liver and bacon, mash and a plate full of fresh vegetables. Just the job, especially if the alternatives are two rather chilly and soulless rail platforms. Excellent value too. Well done.

We are visiting family and are staying at the Mill premier Inn . The room is old and dated with line scale on the walls of the shower. The shower head is low so someone like myself can’t shower without catching his head. We have just returned from breakfast,this is our second visit in a three day stay. We ordered what we wanted only to be told that what we ordered from the menu we had paid for certain things were unavailable.Surely I expect to be able to have anything I desire from a menu I have already paid in advance for. Several items were missing such as blue berry muffins, pain aux chocolate, pain aux raisins were also missing. This might seem small things to some but to me I expect service. The Mill itself is dirty and shabby and the food was anything but inviting. The staff unhelpful and missed out certain items when we ordered . We didn’t bother telling him as by this time all we wanted to do was leave . Breakfast or any meal is supposed to be a pleasant experience,all we want to do is leave. The sooner we leave the better.If you want a relaxing pleasant holiday break,don’t go to the Mill Eastbourne where quality and service doesn’t exist.

Very good service from friendly approachable bar maid (Carly) and wait staff. Food excellent. Would recommend to all.

Nice friendly little restaurant. Bit of a wait for food but expected as it's cooked from fresh rather than reheated. Food is always hot and in large portions. Coffee is excellent, quite the best in the area. I've tried most of the menu and it is really good. They even cooked to my request.

My family and I have been here numerous times. Never been disappointed.Certainly recommend this cafe in its accessible location.

I came here with my friend after the gym as we were really hungry and we love the food here. It was delicious and service was lovely.

Good food for the money, very good value, better than your average chain restaurant, nothing fancy but worth a visit

Visited this for lunch and it wasn't very busy. Despite this we had to wait for about 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the waitress. She then took our order for food but didn't mention anything about wanting a drink, so we went without!

This is a dated but very clean cafe serving traditional meals with some good value lunches and a varied menu. This is not a place to entertain business colleagues or go for a romantic meal it is really a cafe opposite the station entrance. BUT! if you want a well cooked wholesome meal and the largest best value breakfast in the area for £4.95 this is the place. The staff are friendly and the 1970's decor may well come back into fashion soon. Could benefit from better lighting to brighten the place up. Worth a visit

I don't often rave about a place but this is a place to rave about!! Had a breakfast for £4.50. Huge plate of beautifully cooked food. Very friendly owner. Don't be put off by exterior go in and taste the food. For my money I got 2 sausages, 2 bacon, fried egg, 2 black pudding, huge portion of mushrooms, huge portion of sauté potatoes and a lovely fresh tomato. All cooked to order. Also the decaf coffee was proper ground coffee at £1.80 for a large mug. Will definitely be going back.

Sat in the sunshine on an outside table and wathed the world and the trains at the level crossing go by.

Así que vale la pena ir a 4 estas, familia de 4 pasamos comida, postre y 2 bebidas cada uno, cuesta menos de 40 libras,

we eat here on a semi regular basis - best breakfast we have found in east sussex and every lunch we have had has also been delicious

We came upon this little cafe by chance one day, the owner Camillo was very friendly. The food was very tasty with a mixture of English and Italian cuisine. We will definitely be visiting again when we are in the area.

a small restaurant but quite cosy. hosts are friendly and helpful. though it does not have a collection, food is very tasty with generous dish. well worth a visit

We enjoyed really good coffee and cakes for our elevenses, served by friendly people at sensible prices. We'll definitely be back for a full meal next time we visit the area because they looked good too, but it was mid-morning on this occasion.
