Tuvimos una encantadora velada fría en el mexicano , la comida era deliciosa , el personal era extremadamente servicial ofreciendo un gran servicio , cerveza encantadora en borrador y una gran selección de cócteles, gran música de fondo creando un ambiente encantador. El restaurante está tan bien decorado que en realidad podría estar en México. Esperaba que apareciera una banda de Mariachi. Sin duda volveremos para una segunda visita.

Tuvimos un gran tiempo en The Mexican para nuestra primera visita. Teníamos comida mexicana muy sabrosa y cerveza, muy eficiente y amable servicio y Daisy le encantó el trabajo de arte. Una buena noche fue hecha por todos.

Absolutely brilliant. I’ll certainly be back next time I visit Manchester. We were also pleasantly surprised by the price for 2 starters, two mains and two sides! Not to mention that staff were absolutely fantastic, a big reason why we’re in such a rush to return. I will be honest, I thought the chicken burrito did lack chicken, but the birria tacos were incredible, some of the best food i’ve eaten.

The Mexican took our last minute reservation on a busy Saturday night and we are so glad they did! Our host and server was lovely, knowledgable and despite being busy took the time to recommend some great dishes and excellent additions to our choices (always chose the buffalo sauce on your tacos for that little 🌶️ kick!) and brought us some tasty, fruity margaritas. We particularly loved the mushroom quesadillas and they had a noticeable veggie offering on the menu with everything for a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back, thanks again 😊

Went with my son, who gets super nervous of new places and people as he's autistic, he settled in straightaway! Lovely, warm welcome and he got to try so many new flavours which is such a triumph for him. The atmosphere is chilled out, relaxed and friendly. The food is 10/10. We would recommend and will definitely be going back. The birria is delicious 😋

Ate at The Mexican yesterday evening. Arrived late and they kindly kept the kitchen open for us. Delicous chicken and pork burritos. Mexican lager slipped down a treat. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Decor fun. Toilets spotless. Left happy.

My partner and I went there for a our anniversary. It was really pleasant experience, the staff were really friendly and happy to answer questions. The space was relaxing, good music and great food! They have board games you can play. They do great early bird deals too!

Recientemente tuve el placer de cenar en El restaurante mexicano durante sus celebraciones de cumpleaños de 1 año, y debo decir, no decepcionó. Aquí hay un desglose de los platos que tuve: Costillas de Elote: Esta fue la fusión perfecta de sabores. Imagina costillas suculentas y tiernas recubiertas de un condimento de polvo de diablo ahumado. El maíz dulce, combinado maravillosamente con el chile ahumado / polvo de pimentón (adivinando el contenido) . Cada bocado fue una explosión encantadora de sabor que me tuvo seriamente contemplando pedir más. Si eres un fanático del elote, estas costillas son una necesidad. Pollo Quesadillas: Las quesadillas de pollo son un clásico y se hicieron bien. Rellenas de jugoso pollo bien sazonado y una generosa cantidad de queso gooey, estas quesadillas eran crujientes por fuera y satisfactoriamente abundantes por dentro y la crema de chipotle que las acompañaba agregó la mezcla perfecta, eran reconfortantes, llenas y todo lo que querrías de una buena quesadilla. Birria Tacos: Estos tacos fueron lo más destacado de la comida. La espinilla de res birria era increíblemente tierna, claramente marinada en un rico caldo salado que estaba repleto de especias. Los tacos se servían con un lado de consomé para mojar, que llevaba el sabor a otro nivel. La combinación de las suaves y sabrosas tortillas con la jugosa carne de birria y cebollas con un agradable toque de cilantro fue nada menos que espectacular. Estos tacos son una necesidad absoluta - probar para cualquiera que visite el restaurante. Chili - Papas fritas cargadas: Las papas fritas cargadas de chile de res eran un placer divertido e indulgente. Las papas fritas crujientes cubiertas con un abundante chile, El chile tenía un buen equilibrio de picante y ahumado, complementando las papas fritas crujientes perfectamente y el maíz crujiente agregó textura y una buena porción de pico de gallo (cebollas, tomates y pimientos). Este plato es ideal para compartir o como acompañamiento de los otros platos principales, proporcionando un crujiente satisfactorio y una explosión de sabores con cada bocado. Tres Leches Cake (pastel de leche): ¡Si nunca has tenido esto antes, Dios mío te lo estás perdiendo! Lo más destacado de la comida tanto que siempre me llevo un pedazo de esto a casa también si queda algo! El bizcocho Tres Leches es un bizcocho empapado en tres tipos de leche: leche evaporada, leche condensada y leche entera, es un desierto mexicano básico y me encanta terminar la comida, ya que no importa cuán lleno estés de la excelente comida, siempre debes hacer espacio para esto y si no puedes conseguir que te lleve, te prometo que volverás por más! También tienen corona en borrador y una decente colección de licores y algunos muy buenos cócteles (cuidado con la happy hour) como la margarita con sabor y la mula mexicana también hacen algunos refrescos mexicanos Jarrito cola, naranja y guayaba que también son muy refrescantes. Conclusión: El mexicano realmente ofrece auténtica y sabrosa cocina mexicana. Cada plato ofrecía algo único, con los tacos de Birria y costillas de Elote siendo particularmente destacados y, por supuesto, el pastel Tres Leches (¿ya lo he mencionado? Lol). Tanto si eres fanático de los sabores ricos y salados como si buscas comida reconfortante, este lugar tiene algo para todos. Muy recomendable para cualquier persona que busque disfrutar de la comida mexicana de calidad.

I went with my friend on Sunday and we had the best meal and service we could have wished for. Also the best cake either of us have ever eaten in our lives (and we’ve both been here a good while 😂) The atmosphere is lovely, the food is authentic and delicious and the staff are amazing. Thanks for a great experience. We highly recommend it and we will be back.

Amazing food, great service and absolutely lovely family team who run the restaurant! They make all the food fresh and all their sauces are made in house. You can tell because it’s all delicious! Definitely try the birria tacos….so good!

Great Mexcan food and drinks in this family-run restaurant. First class service ... nothing is too much trouble. They happily adjusted both food and drinks to suit our son who found one or two choices a bit hot. Looking forward to our next visit!

nice enough restaurant in terms of decor - however food was distinctly average - burritos were dry and they failed to acknowledge that I had booked on the fork with a 20% discount - just said it was a fault in teh booking and not applicable - no attempt to even offer this as it was clearly their mistake - server not sure if they had any sauces like mayonaise - just wanted us to order dips from the menu. Overall a disappointing experience and customer service needs to improve and they need to honour promotions when they have this as an option or get rid of them.

The only reason I’d advise you to stay away is because I would want to keep it for myself. This is a warm and friendly, family run business who know how to make genuine Mexican food. Food quality is outstanding and the service comes with a cheeky winning style. I’m visiting from California and these guys compete with original recipes. Please be aware they will collude with your party guest to let them pay without your knowledge. (Point deduction). Go support them! P.s. special mention to our server Von (have I spelled that wrong), who made me say she’s exceptional at her job.

Had a lovely evening meal here as part of a large group. The food was delicious, I had the corn ribs and the birria tacos and would definitely order again - although the whole menu sounded lovely too! 3rd time here, I would reccomend The Mexican to anyone. The staff are incredibly friendly and really care about the customers. The food is amazing and the drinks are really good portions unlike alot of places that serve tiny drinks. This is hands down my favourite restraunt. I will keep coming back.

Best Mexican restaurant in Greater Manchester. Food is to die for, aesthetic is on point, has a real warm feel to the place, games you can play at the table, range of alcoholic drinks and Matt & Alice are so welcoming and friendly. Not to mention more than reasonably priced! So good we’re going back for my 30th. Couldn’t recommend more!

If you are looking for authentic, tasty Mexican food, great drinks and the best, most friendly service, look no further because ‘The Mexican’ in Fallowfield has it all! We took the family here recently, and had an absolutely brilliant night. There’s a great vibe here and the food is so so tasty and plentiful!! (boxes are available to take leftovers home!) Veggies are very well catered for (the cauliflower wings are to die for!) and they have a great choice of cocktails (and mocktails) which we all loved! It was generally agreed the Burritos were the best we’d ever had (and we like our Mexican food!) ‘The Mexican’ is family owned, and Alice and the team are so welcoming. They really go out of their way to make you welcome, and the service is absolutely spot on! Our first visit here, but most definitely not our last! 5 stars all round! Thank you for a fantastic evening x x x

What a fantastic find! The food is top notch, the wings are the best I’ve ever had, worth going just for those, let alone the cola pork tacos. The vegetarian options were great for the veggies in my party. Service is great and really friendly. Loved the mocktails too. Will definitely be back!

Loved it here. Took my dad for fathers day, I drove for 30 mins to get here and glad I did. Was greeted with a warm welcome from friendly staff. The decor and paintings on the walls are great. My dad had a burrito and I had cola pork tacos, we also had Pollo loaded fries and honey Chipotle chicken wings the food was lovely, they also have a good selection of dips including a peach and jalapeño which ive never tried before and was lovely. They do Jarrito soda, my favourite it the cola and I find it hard to find so was pleased they served this here. I was too full full for dessert but as it was fathers day my dad got free churros and also a free drink of his choice. I will definitely be returning

Been visiting here regularly since it opened. Authentic food served in a great setting owned and run by the whole family. Highly recommend. Large selection of cocktails and also games to play. Deffo try the chicken wings the mango habanero are delicious.

Friendly hosts, great food. loved the decor and music. reasonable prices. I traveled over half an hour to go here with my dad and I'm really glad I did and will definitely be coming back. my dad even got a free drink and churros for fathers day which was a really nice surprise

Staff were lovely and super friendly!! BBQ Wings were 10/10 however didn’t like the nachos, they tasted almost stale and bland, could have done with more cheese. Birra tacos were just ok.

It’s mine and my partner’s to-go spot when we need to go out, you can taste the good quality of the food! And the board games are the cherry on top of the cake!

Food was incredible, especially the honey and chipotle wings! Possibly the best wings I’ve ever tasted. All their sauces are made in house and they’re great. Didn’t get a chance to grab desert as had to rush off but looked amazing. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. 100% would recommend

Fantastic Mexican restaurant with wonderful ambience and atmosphere (loved the music). Attentive service and great food and cocktails. Really loved the burrito and habanero dip which had an extra kick. Definitely recommend the margarita cocktail and ask about the Paloma. Would definitely go back again.

Had a lovely meal here, great value and big portions of tasty dishes. Had the beef and pork, but good vegetarian options too.

I’d encourage everyone to go to this place. The staff were so lovely and the food was fabulous- in particular I’d recommend their churros as a dessert - we weren’t that hungry after having had our main but when we tasted the delicious dip and really well made churros we ordered the same amount again. Great value for money also.

A fantastic Family run Mexican Restaurant in the heart of Fallowfield! The food is super tasty and very authentic, with a great variety and some really good deals available. We have tried almost everything on the menu and are always impressed with the quality, freshness and authenticity.The staff are very friendly and welcoming and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome, especially when we have dined with the children.The chap behind the bar, Johnny, is a real character and makes some terrific cocktails, personally I love their Margarita's, one of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is highly creative with a great choice of Mexican music playing in the background, to some fabulous original artwork on the walls created by Alice, one of the Family members and Manager.The Mexican is becoming one of Manchester's best kept secrets and as an independent restaurant, deserves to do well! The Mexican is a lovely place to go and eat. I went with my friends and we all found something we enjoyed. The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere is great, and the food is very nice. I would definitely go again. It’s also great for cocktails in the evening!

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the vibrant hand-painted murals that make you feel like you've stepped into a lively Mexican street. I half expected the paintings to come to life and start dancing the salsa! Now, let's talk about the margaritas. Oh boy, they're like a party in a glass! Each sip is a little slice of heaven, with just the right balance of tequila and citrusy goodness. Trust me, after a couple of these, you'll be doing your own impromptu salsa dance in your seat! And the food? Every dish is a symphony of flavours that will make your taste buds sing mariachi tunes. I'm pretty sure I heard my stomach shout "Olé!" after the first bite. So, if you're in the mood for a culinary fiesta that'll leave you grinning from ear to ear the go to The Mexican with friends, family or for a romantic meal!

10 degrees outside, even less inside. No heating at all. Only 3 people in restaurant and food came cold. When spoke to the young lady she just kept saying he had just cooked the chicken. The chicken was just about luke warm, the plate was cold as was the cheese sauce, and the nachos. The bottom of the plate was swimming in water where the pico de guia hadn't been drained properly. I can only say, save your money and spend it elsewhere! Not good.

Drove over to Manchester today as my wife and daughter were going to see Strictly in Manchester, Usually the city centre is rammed afterwards with queues to get into even mediocre restaurants. As we were parked on the Fallowfield campus I suggested the Mexican on Wilsmslow Road (directly opposite the campus entrance). Great decision - food and drinks were excellent. Each of us had the taco's and they were outstanding. Will definitely return and help this family business. So when you drop your little one off or visit them forget the chains of Nandos and Wagamama and head here! Only criticism is they didn't have my fav of stuffed jalapeños - just can't seem to find them anywhere these days on Mexican menus.

So happy I found this place! I have struggled to find a Mexican that tastes amazing and has vegetarian options. I found it. Customer Service: top tier! The gentleman serving us was super friendly. Checked in on us and allowed me to modify my order. Food: Absolutely incredible, it tastes authentic. Generous portions. My partner got the birria tacos and said they were some of the best he's had. For us the food didn't have enough spice but I'm sure they'd make it spicier if we'd asked. You can add spice but you can't get the authentic flavour in most places. The food took about 30 mins to arrive but they have games so it didn't feel like a long wait and it allowed us time to put down our phones and play a game together. Drinks: really good not got any complaints! Overall an amazing experience. I would definitely come again.
