Possibly one of the BEST burgers I have had in the UK, and probably one of the best in my whole life! And this place is so cool, very welcoming & friendly (great service, by the way) and, if I am allowed to say this as European: it is refreshing and reassuring to find a place in that area of Birmingham that it is so genuinely (!) Brum, Midlands, English, local. Definitely going back next time I am in the City and recommending it to all my friends. Ps. Amazing (local) beers selection!

My brother decided to take me to meat shack and insisted that i have the R&B burger, that was huge and delicious tho i could have just stuck with the regular. It was not a bad spot to get a good burger.

I love the paintings on the wall, pretty cool and interesting. The staff and music are great. The food I would say not as good as I expected. It’s good, just not that good. The salt and pepper chicken bombs are nice. The burger has lots of sauce included, which is nice. But the meat are not juicy, doesn’t looks like fresh cooking but reheated. Overall, it’s nice place to have a quick bite but don’t expect too much.

What a great food trip. The lad and I had the Dutch piggy each, cheese and bacon fries and the nakatomi chicken bombs (plus couple Pints of staropramen). What can I say. Top top burgers and all the accompanying food was bang on. Will def be coming back here. Forget your mainstream commercial burger joints. Head here, just a few minutes from new street and support an independent restaurant. Already discussing our next visit and we haven’t even left yet!

Without a shadow of a doubt, The Meat Shack is Birmingham's best burger. You have all the classic week-on-week. But the team always puts a special on. I've had goosebumps eating one before. I personally love RnB or Duch Piggy. Nakatomi fries are a game-changer. Don't forget chicken bombs 💥

The food was good, but I waited 45 minutes to be served in a restaurant which was not busy. Everyone else suffered the same delays. Staff were nice though.

The Bella Emberg burger tasted better than I expected as well the fries and the sauces. The burger is what’s making me want to come back tbh.

Burgers here were phenomenal so juicy the fries were incredible aswell would recommend to anyone and very reasonably priced aswell!

Fab and tasty burgers! Very reasonable too. Very cool vibe in the restaurant. Very friendly staff. Fast service. We booked for 6pm before a 7.30pm show at the theatre which was perfect.

Good honest food, great burgers and chicken bombs. Staff always friendly and service always swift. If you are hungry but don't want the formalities or wait of many restaurants, head here. Be aware the kitchen closes at 9pm.

Was a visit before the Panto and after not being here for years really was no different. The food was bang on and flavours all came through well. Dutch Piggy always my go to.

Go here. The Meat Shack serves good tasting burgers, nice fries and tasty beer. The two of us went here for a mid week meal and enjoyed the food and the beer. The buns were soft but didn’t instantly fall apart when touching the beef. The meat was tasty and cooked to my liking. The serving staff were friendly and nice. The fries were a little expensive but you can’t have burger without fries so hey ho. The venue had a cool vibe with good graffiti on the walls and good music. The atmosphere rating took a hit on here because of a large group with 4 or 5 kids getting bored and racing around.

Delicious! A real ‘dirty’ burger yet not greasy at all and we loved it. Fries were delicious too! A great find in a super location for The Hippodrome. Would definitely return.

We’ve been fan favourites of Meatshack for years! Best burgers in town and no one can convince me otherwise. We recently had a private event here and it couldn’t have been more perfect!! Cat & Paul, plus all the staff, really went above and beyond to make our special day even more special! We truly couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate a special occasion with our friends!

I love a burger when I go out for food. This place was very quirky and I loved the chill atmosphere. The food was amazing I can honestly say one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, the quality and the fact it was cooked fresh you could tell. Had a great time here. Booked a table easily on the phone. Served and made welcome by 'Sunny' and the v pretty blonde lady serving. Offered to taste the guest beer before buying a pint (was lovely and locally brewed). 'Blue Burger' excellent. Decor unusual, street art on walls. Recommend.

Place pretty empty but sat for a while before drinks order taken. Server very polite but kept offering lagers as an alternative to an ale despite saying didn't like lager. Burger and fries nice. Place had a strange unpleasant smell to it which was very off putting. Wouldn't go back.

Dear lord, what an incredible burger. Came here because it's close to the O2 on a family member's recommendation and was delighted (every time I've visited Birmingham I've had trouble so it was nice to break the streak). The chicken burger and halloumi fries were delicious. The naked fries were perfect and the loaded fries also looked wonderful. We absolutely demolished the meal, which was reasonably priced for the quality and quantity. Only minor gripe was that the burger buns were a bit soggy? But didn't affect the meal overall. The restaurant has an urban vibe and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely consider this place again if I return to Birmingham

Dripping, filthy goodness is a good talking for this place. Had the Dutch piggy, a debauched bacon, Gouda and American cheeseburger - utter delight, if a tiny bit rough around the edges with chewier than I'd like bacon and thicker than I'd like bun. Minor faults. The naked fries were lush - great service, great food, would recommend.

I was expecting a lot more from this place. The burger was good but not great as some of the reviews are suggesting. Don't get me wrong the place is decent and service was ok and the food is good it's just not mind blowing. The burger flavour just had too much going on and about half way in got too much. I probably won't come back anytime soon but if you are looking for a good burger then come try this place you might love it but I think there's better burger places around.

Didn't know what to expect tbh. Wow! I really loved it. Everything about The Meat Shack was spot on. Recommend to groups of friends, family ....date night. A real relaxed environment. Calm. Great art, you couldn't get bored, it's the decor. Free parking for Blue badge holders. Literally next to restaurant. Close to clubs, theatre and ballet?? Parking cost us couple pound, that was after 7pm, pay online. Details are on the parking ticket machine. Oh there's a ncp next to it too.

Went here a few weeks ago after a recommendation from a friend. After going here thought it was nothing special. You only get one pattie per meal plus side chips were OK and seni enjoyable. Food came out on paper trays with no plates. There's better places to eat in Birmingham. Over all 3 out of 5 staff were friendly and service was fast and wasn't pushy on service It was Eddie's without a juke box

My son and I were staying overnight in Birmingham and had the good fortune to find The Meat Shack. We went there for dinner and we had a spicy chicken and butter milk chicken! I can categorically say that both were the best chicken dishes I have ever tasted at a very reasonable price! And I can tell you in my time, I have luckily eaten many types of cuisine throughout the globe and without exaggeration this food was the best! So go and check it out!

Great burger bar first class service and nice family atmosphere

Amazing fries, very crispy chicken in the sandwich. The spice level didn't live up to the naming, but was still very enjoyable. Affordable price, prompt service and cheerful staff. The location is okay, I'm not really sure what they are going for, but the art on one of the walls is very cool. One of the best burger places I have been to in Birmingham thus far, I will certainly be visiting again in the future.

Excellent independently owned burger shack with chicken and veggie options. The Buffalo Chicken sharers/starters are amazing! Easy going atmosphere and tasty food plus good beers! Good music (but not too loud!) too!

Tried Meat Shack at Herbert’s Yard this week and I was very impressed. Service was very good and quick, I asked for a double burger with bacon and cheese. Up there with one of the nicest burgers I’ve had!

Came here once as a group of 5 and it was great. Staff really accommodating and food is delicious. Only downside is that it gets pricey quickly, and the topped fries are quite expensive for what extras you get!

We visited before a gig at the O2 as it’s nearby and I’m so glad we did! It’s got to be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Can’t fault anything, staff were great and service was quick. Will definitely be back next time!

Food was incredible with quick and knowledgeable service. Super friendly guys working here who gave me samples of the local craft beer which was a great pour. Can't wait to come back and try something else.

I went here around 1pm on Saturday because my friend recommended the food. The place was almost empty with just one couple and a dad with his child present. Because of this we were served pretty much within 10 minutes. The chicken burger I found to be extremely salty, not sure if it was the sauce or just added salt but it wasn't nice. The loaded fries were really tasty but it was strange they came in a small foil container? Forces you to be extra cautious as to not drop anything oozing from the fries. Overall, it was okay but will definitely choose another place over here in the future.

Really good food, friendly staff and decent beer. As for burgers, kids loved Mr C but I went for the Hell Shack, nice heat without blowing your head off. The better half said the cauliflower bombs were “epic” and the chicken bombs were also really tasty

Visited for the first time mid-afternoon on a Saturday and they really lived up to the great reviews and the exciting menu. Such a handy spot, just 5 mins from New Street and opposite the Hippodrome theatre, so ideal for an inexpensive but delicious treat while you're in town. Burgers were so packed with flavour but who knew fries could be so much better - a really great experience and exciting decor with a slightly edgy feel, but really warm and friendly service. Great local beers on tap too. Excellent

Great menu, great atmosphere, great staff, great vibe. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a relaxed atmosphere here but customer service is excellent as is the food. The menu is interesting and what I chose was of excellent quality as was the choice of my colleague. I'd happily eat here again.

Amazing place! Went to the Meat Shack with the family and the menu had something for everyone dispite being burger based. Burgers had great flavour, perfectly cooked and the sides were original and tasty, especially the cauliflower bombs! The beers were great too. Complimented the burgers well. Also, the guys working there couldn't do enough for us, they were fantastic. Thanks for a great dinner!

I spotted this place when looking for somewhere to eat before the Fat Boy Slim gig at the O2 Academy and we all thought it would hit the spot. Oh my the burgers are out of this world possibly the best we have eaten!! Staff were lovely and friendly and would highly recommend. Quick service and everything really hot too! Thank you!

Ended up a plan B after original plans went wrong, but god works in mysterious ways, and divine inspiration putting a meat shack patty in front of me is always welcome, a little bit off the main strip by hippodrome, it’s a very tasty menu and the burgers are great, mine was nearly cooked a little too well done, but just stayed within the being taste barometer, halloumi fries were wicked too

Went to the meat shack for a meal, nice cosy place. Food was good, staff friendly. One not to miss, if you like a dirty burger.

Great food, good experience but not quite perfect. Went to The Meat Shack and ordered a feast, which was more than two people could eat. The burgers are excellent, thick beef patties and quality ingredients make an absolute feast of a meal. However the trays the burgers arrive in are a bit fiddly and make the eating experience messier than it needs to be. The dirty fries are nice, but next time, I'd order plain fries to contrast better with the burger. Good value and would recommend. 4 stars

Best burger and fries in Birmingham. I ordered burger with blue cheese, loaded fries and chicken bites. The house IPA is amazing as well and goes very well with their burgers
