I havnt been for a long while but we came for Sunday lunch x friends all meeting up for a catch up before the children go back to school. Service with a smile is what you get here x the staff are lovely and we all had roast dinners AND puddings which were delicious. I can’t fault the mayquay, every time I come back you get great service good food and I love they sell Jack Rabbit Wine ( goes down a treat ) So Thankyou The Mayquay we will definitely see you again soon 🤩

Came for a Sunday dinner give em due was only 11.50 but when it arrived could see why. Canned veg mash tasted funky roast potatoes were rock hard in the middle and the meat was drier than the Sahara desert ordered a adult meal for me lad out comes a kids meal give em due they did only charge a kids meal but when he ate his scran that was just a quid micro meal from heron he tried to eat mine haha sorry guys but can't see past 1 star

Lovely food, very nice atmosphere and outdoor seating areas. A great Gluten Free menu and knowledgeable friendly staff. A really nice experience.

Family funeral. Lovely buffet also a choice of a hot dish included in the price per head. We chose the mild chicken curry which really good. Excellent value, plenty of food & Excellent service. Lovely outside area too

Visited here with relatives from Australia… we’ve been twice now ! The food is fantastic… 2 steaks for £15 worth every penny and the BBQ chicken melt was very nice too … great portions and value too. The decor in the pub is great too lovely staff as ever … very friendly and can’t do enough for you … well worth a visit !

Went the first night food was lovely staff were friendly had a dog with us so good we booked there and then for the next night as we walked in there were a few dogs barking fair enough it’s a dog friendly pub didn’t bother us but man from behind bar came to me and told me I would have to stop the dog barking could of had a quiet word with me but no spoke abruptly in front of the whole bar we chose to leave no guarantee my dog wouldn’t bark again along with all the other dogs already barking shame really because we all had enjoyed the food the night before so if your thinking of going to the dog friendly pub just make sure you can guarantee your dog won’t bark

Roast dinner was awful. Had upset tummy since. Microwaved at best. Frozen veg. Mash was best bit. Meat tasted strange. Daughter had bbq chicken melt which looked lovely and she cleared her plate. Wish I had ordered anything but the roast. Husbands pint smelt of vinegar. Changed to a different brand Bonus dog friendly, nice clean brilliant staff.

Great experience. Friendly staff with excellent service . Food was lovely, fresh and tasty. I had the ribeye steak from the specials board, cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the Guinness, great pint.

The food is excellent value for money and well presented. Waiting on and bar staff are very welcoming, polite and helpful. The pub itself is large and nicely decorated, clean and tidy. Well worth a visit .

This naughtical style, cosy, welcoming, pub by the seaside, is a joy to dine at too! Lovely, freshly cooked, pub grub. Served by friendly, helpful staff, in a warm ambience. Our dogs were made very welcome also. How very nice to be able to properly socialise and dine with friends, without being rushed, but still being well served. I have an allergy and was presented with the best, easiest to read list to match the menu that I have ever seen. Nothing was too much trouble to the lovely staff here. We will definitely be dining here again very soon.

Never been here before, even though we live local. Food was nice good value, and friendly staff, would go again, but out of season.

We came for a joint birthday meal on Friday night a large party of 14 all ordering different meals and ever single dish was amazing!! Drinks were great and as always reasonably priced but more importantly the staff were just brilliant even decorated the table for us with the balloons etc that we dropped off earlier. This is always our go to venue for a nice meal out and will continue to be ❤️

I was the lucky winner of a delicious pizza. The pizza was amazing, the staff were lovely and so kind and generous. The food was perfect and the smell of the food was divine. I can't wait to have a meal at the beautiful venue 😀 Thank you so much ❤️

A lovely afternoon here for a Birthday celebration with the family and 2 dogs...food was amazing. Great price for the 2 and 3 courses...puddings were just yum and large!! ...The 2 dogs were spoilt by the staff ...lots of turkey and fusses...Brilliant service so thank you to all of you..

Me and my dad came here and we’ve not been here before even thou we live locally. And wow. We really enjoyed the food. Mayquey burger and tikka curry is so nice! I think we will be here everyweek now and they will get sick of us 😂

Went today and we both had a delicious roast dinner served by lovely staff. My only gripes about the place was the little tiny flies that were around all throughout our meal and the repeated adverts on the tv about making your Will and different places to leave your money. Came out of there feeling very old and miserable having that rubbed in my face every advert on whatever Channel they had downloaded with the 80's sounds. Sorry Mayquay but you really need to change that.

Great place to eat,came 3 times in a week,while we were on holiday in Kinmel Bay. The roast of the day is one of my favourites. Home cooked food and always piping hot. Great value fir money. Will definitely return when we're there in November

Top pub lovely food with lovely staff never had a bad meal in there always polite and always go above to help food is hot not waiting for ages like the dump over the road and the ale is decent as well

If you're looking for a great value meal, then this is the place to come to. We are here on holiday and have been here for a few teatime meals. Great value and beautiful food. I highly recommend a visit here. There is also a children's menu. We found this place 2 years ago whilst kn holiday and came back again. You won't be disappointed.

Visited for Sunday lunch family of 5 and a little dog. Pre-booked as it was bank holiday air show weekend. Welcoming friendly staff. Great value pub food. Sunday roasts are very good value for just £9.95. Drinks are reasonably priced too. Food was served piping hot! We sat inside because of the weather but amply outdoor seating for better weather days.

Called in for a evening meal at 6pm was told they had a table for 90mins which was great. But then we sat down and went to the bar to order the meals and was told hardly anything left on the menus 3 of us ate meals were well below par. Major problems with the soft drink dispenser as no gas in the system and was given 2 completely different drinks wasn’t even asked what drinks we wanted. And my partner heard another guest complaining about the soft drinks to which the barmaid said to another well he’s not getting another one and can drink that. Then at 7pm we was constantly reminded that the table was booked out at 7.30 which we was already aware off. Very poor customer service and don’t think we’ll be back in the future. Oh just for the record I am a bar manager of 30 years experience and if my staff spoke like that to my guests then I’m afraid they wouldn’t be working for us.

We stay on sunnyvale and have tried to book the mayquay on several occasions but it has been fully booked.I assumed that was because it was so good, I was wrong!The place its self was clean and the staff are friendly.I ordered steak (sirloin) and chips. The steak was fatty and chewy.My husband ordered a mixed grill, cheap sausages, poor cuts of meat.My daughter ordered a roast which was awful! Frozen everything! Frozen, mash, stuffing, toasties, tinned carrots!! The turkey was sliced and dry like what you get from a microwave meal.We are booked in for Sunday for a roast...... We will be cancelling.

Frozen food, dirty tables and menus with greasy fingerprints! No hand soap in the toilet! When I asked at the bar I was told that they had run out and were waiting for an order so to just use hand sanitiser, which the staff had clearly been doing! Disgusting! Was looking forward to our meal here a change from the cheap chippy meals sadly has most pubs are it was the usual freezer to fryer flavourless food if the gravy had been any more watery you could have washed the dishes with it.

Booking - is needed. We were a large family. Tried calling several times with no answer but they must have been busy. My husband facebook messaged them. I got through on the phone and about an hour after that they messaged my husband back. Good amount of parking at the back of the pub.Food was good. It was dog friendly outside. We didn't have a dog with us but we seen people with them. Food was typical pub food. Our table ordered the mix grill (approximately£16), sirloin steak with chips, (approximately £15) cheese burger and chips, chicken nuggets, beans and chips, fish fingers and chips. (Approximately £5) Chocolate fudge cake and ice cream ((approximately £5) and kids ice cream (£2). We all ate it. They only have pepsi max and all the drinks are sugar free. I like to have a proper coca cola or pepsi when I go out for a meal as a treat. Also my son has autism is and is very limited in his food and drinks. I asked if they had a fruit shoot and they said yes but it wasn't a proper fruit shoot it was monster shoot or something like that. He wouldn't drink it so his brother drank it for him. For these reasons and because the kids ice cream came with sauce and sprinkles without telling us first (kids are fussy and mine refused to eat it so I ate it) is the only reasons I haven't given it 5 stars. Toilets - were cleanStaff- kept checking we was ok. Friendly and nice.For anyone else going with someone with sensory needs, the pub wasn't loud. It was quiet. We ate at 5pm and sat outside.

Have visited this pub several times whilst staying at Sunnyvale, sadly food was not as good as previous visits, not sure if this was because we were ordering towards the end of the food service or not but was disappointed with the meals that we had. Avoided it for the rest of the week.

We visited this pub for our evening meals Mon - Thurs and all but Mon we pre booked the table including where we wanted to sit. Cannot fault the staff or the meals, there was 3 of us and all had different meals every night and sometimes a sweet - plenty on the plates, piping hot every time and service was excellent - will be back next time we are in the area

We visited this pub for an evening meal without prior booking. We had toddlers with us and I must say that the staff were good, attentive and accommodating and the food was decent.We all ordered different meals and we all enjoyed what we had.There’s a nice atmosphere in the pub and the set out and decor is comfortable.We would definitely return.

Was staying local for a short break so booked a meal here as knew it was only a short walk from where we were but it was a big let down. Positives-We had a nice big table with a tv so the men could watch the football, staff seemed friendly enough Negatives- not a very big choice on the menu so three of us opted for ‘homemade lasagne’ which is where it all went downhill. Our lasagnes arrived on first glance it looked ok but then when I cut into it, all was revealed. It was covered with a mountain of melted cheese which was hard to get through but once I did there was hardly any sign of white sauce or any sauce for that matter as the mince beef with just dry and shrivelled up, in between sheets of soggy pasta. Basically the lasagnes were probably old, pulled from the freezer and then covered in a mountain of cheese before being microwaved to death to hide how bad it actually was and all three were the same. ( I could’ve purchased 3 better quality ready meal lasagnes for the price we paid for one, whilst money isn’t the issue I do expect something more edible for just under £10 a meal) Non of us finished the lasagne dishes infact we all ate about half of that and when the girl came to clear the plates she asked if everything was ok with the meal and we told her it wasn’t. My friends husband asked her if she’d ever tried the lasagne and pointed at it, she looked at our plates, pulled a face and said no she has ‘never had the lasagne as she said she wouldn’t eat here’ well that says it all doesn’t it if your own staff wouldn’t eat at the pub they work at. We didn’t make a fuss about it we just wanted to pay the bill and leave. We asked for the bill and was told we needed to go to the bar to pay which was ok it’s just that it’d been table service up until then. We paid at the bar and the man serving asked if everything had been ok with the meal while he was doing the payment, we told him it hadn’t and the lasagne was awful to which he did reply and ask why we hadn’t told anyone at the time which we told him we had but he just shrugged and said ‘oh well sorry’ We paid and left but I could then see all the staff having a good chat at the end of the bar about what we’d said as we walked out it’s just a shame that no one could properly apologise or acknowledge there was a problem at the time and they will lose custom because they don’t know how to deal with issues like this

Rough. Went to the Mayqauy as a group of friends. We were given a booth outside. I honestly wouldn't let my dog sit in there. Old sofas, rusty tables. The staff were as bad as I've ever witnessed. Taking drinks to wrong tables . Didnt know what was going on. It was funny in the end. Complete shambles.

Absolutely amazing place, the food was gorgeous and amazing for the price the staff were absolutely wonderful very quick service,food came out very fast for a table of 8 less than 20 mins and beat our expectations would highly recommend to everyone.

Last minute decision to eat out, someone recommended The Mayquay, rang up and got a table right away which was fab. Walked in to be greeted by a young lad who seated us. We ordered our food and drinks from bar/till and they was bought to us. Lady on bar was extremely friendly and lovely made us feel welcome. Mixed grill was amazing to how I like it cooked, burger meal well my daughter wanted a adult meal but it was that big she could not finish it off, and breakfast meal for my other daughter was yummy in her words too. Definitely recommend this place, 10 out of 10 in every aspect.

After quite a while being closed during lockdown we decided to give the Mayquay another visit. Although the eating had to be done outside it was under cover. They are well prepared for outside eating. It didn't let us down, the food was excellent and the service was brilliant especially from the Lithuanian lady. Well done and thanks.

A last minute evening we were greeted by very friendly staff , this place has a loverly atmosphere despite COVID restrictions , the food was really good value for money and well presented and delicious . Still in lockdown albeit can eat and drink outside. Just came here for the first time and received the most fantastic welcome from Siobhan to squeeze us in even though we hadn't booked. The staff here are fabulous. We will be back.

we have visited the mayquay as a family since it opened many years ago we have always had fab meals and service and had visited since covid and recommended the precautions the had in placeThis all seems to have disappeared no table service queuing at the bar no social distancing dirty tables and cold food What a birthday celebration that wasWon't be recommending or visiting again to say it was awful is bring Nice!!!

Visited the mayquay bank Holiday Monday and would highly recommend it. Three of us ordered steak all cooked differently and the chef cooked them to perfection! Very generous portions even the two kids meals were great portions. The social distancing was well marked out and the staff were very nice and friendly. Visited here bank holiday Monday. Well where to start. Firstly the safety measures put into place are of one of the best Iv seen While having food and drinks out all social distancing measures in place and a very clean safe place to eat. Secondly my gran struggled to walk and used a frame the staff was very attentive to her needs changing the table for us at last minute and using different exits as needed. Thirdly, the food was amazing. Even though we took advantage of the eat out to help out scheme I am definitely going to be paying them another visit I would be happy to pay full prices. We had the curry, and the fish and they was both perfect. And last, the staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you

Excellent family meal. Went for a family meal whilst on holiday. Had two nights eating here. On both occasions we had excellent service from all staff. Food was great. Our children were made to feel welcome and the bar man Daniel was very welcoming and kept our boys entertained with the card tricks they preformed on him. Had an amazing Sunday dinner at the mayquay on the 16 th August 2020 it was great hot very filling meal not like some places I have been very professional severals and welcoming Notting was so much. Will definitely be going out when over again
