Eight adults booked a table here last Wednesday and from the second we stepped into the place we were in love with it. The elegance and charm were extraordinary. Then came the 3 course meal ! Everybody raved about every course. The service was impeccable and if I lived nearer I’d be a regular! Cannot fault one detail .

We called in for a drink on our wedding anniversary as we were married here 4 years ago. We waited to be seated like the sign said and no one came to us so had to ask. We sat down and after 15 minutes had to go and ask for a drinks menu as no one came or acknowledged us despite staff walking past us to serve other guests who came in after us. We looked at the drinks menu and again after a further 15 minutes with no staff acknowledging us although constantly walking past us and again serving people who had arrived after us we left. We wanted to have a good afternoon and reminisce but were left totally ignored and took our custom elsewhere! Shame as we loved it here and have stayed in the rooftop at great expense.

Called in for a late lunch today. Charming staff and a well appointed and well presented front row hotel. Unfortunately the food was awful. We were having a day at the seaside and fish and chips was what tempted us. The offering was dried out not freshly fried. It is with absolute certainty we can say that the kiosk on the pier was selling freshly cooked fish and chips which were hugely superior to this four star hotels offering - and a lot cheaper !

A large group of us had afternoon tea here for my hen party. We wanted something that all age groups (from child to OAP) could enjoy. I cannot fault St Georges. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and the whole afternoon was perfect. We really felt like they went out of their way to make us feel special and the table was beautifully decorated. It really was an exceptional few hours, in lovely surroundings. Genuinely can't praise the staff enough for their efforts in making our afternoon so special, even joining in when it came to wearing a mask of my husband-to-be, when I entered the room. There was plenty of food and the quality was spot on. Thank you St George's and The Terrace, for the most memorable afternoon. Without a doubt my favourite spot in Llandudno, so elegant. Can't wait to visit again.

We have been visiting the restaurant regularly and found it the perfect place to take guests for Sunday lunch. Last Sunday however was a big disappointment. Not only was the menu very limited and did not include any starter or roast dinner options, the food that we did get was disappointing and the portions disgracefully small. It certainly was not worth the cost. The people serving us were, as usual, polite but that, along with the wonderful view, is not enough to encourage us to return.

We went for Christmas lunch at St George's - we have previously been a few times with the family to wedding parties, special birthdays etc., so we chose St George's knowing that we wouldn't be disappointed. How wrong we were. There were 12 of us, 9 adults and 3 small children and we were seated in a separate room, which was fine so we could let the children enjoy themselves a bit more. The starters arrived and they were ok and then the main course arrived which was appalling. Massively overdone sprouts, roast potatoes that looked like they were par boiled and oiled but had been nowhere near the oven, turkey with gravy thrown over it. It looked like a works canteen meal. Dessert was ok but nothing special. We obviously talked afterwards and I asked one of our group to rate it and he said 4 out of 10, a Toby carvery was far better. Another commented that the desserts seemed "very plastic" and thought they were bought in. £90 per person, never again.

Almost everything about this hotel is excellent and The Terrace restaurant is no exception. We’ve dined here several times in the past twelve months, for both lunch and dinner. We’d previously stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the excellent breakfasts so assumed that their lunches and dinners would be on a par - we were not disappointed. The service is attentive and very professional and the food excellent. The setting speaks for itself - in one of Llandudnos best ‘proper’ hotels and right on the prom. Will be back soon.

Have visited Llandudno over many years but never tried the St George, upon enquiry was advised there was a special 4 course Easter Sunday Lunch for £35. Sounded ideal as it was a birthday we also had to celebrate. The nicest part of the lunch was the starter, we chose a “Tian” of smoked salmon, poached salmon and prawn - that said the accompanying Aioli, Pickled Cucumber and Croutons were insufficient to enjoy as accompaniment - for decoration only The second course was leak and potato soup - an odd choice we chose not to have as we expected it be too filling-and no other option was offered. We both selected Roast Lamb as main course which surprisingly was served fully ready plated - even the gravy had been added. The lamb was thinly sliced but ok, with plain boiled veg and roast potatoes which had hard skins and didn’t taste fresh. I expected better for a 4 star hotel than to serve such an average Sunday roast let alone a “special” higher priced one. We finished with ice cream and then the promise of “Tea or Coffee served with minted chocolates” turned out to be a single unbranded mint cream” On the positive side the staff were polite, although no one came to the table to check our enjoyment of the meal for some time after we started our meal. They had forgotten to place a birthday balloon on the table I had taken in purposely but on realising it was a birthday they did bring a “Happy Birthday” plate with a few sweet items on it which was a nice gesture and appreciated

We booked for an Evening Meal during a stay in Llandudno, as we love this hotel - and it did not disappoint. The table was beautifully laid and immaculate. Service was excellent and just right (thank you Danielle!) and the food was wonderful. To start I had the Smoked Duck Salad and for mains, the juicy and tasty Pan Fried Chicken. Tasty, fresh, delicious, all cooked to perfection and two courses was enough. However husband convinced me to share the cheese board with him, which they were more than happy to do, and I was totally full. A truly wonderful meal, excellent value. Cannot wait to return.

On arrival we waited to be seated. Took a while for the girl to come back with menus but that fine. The main issue was the portion of chips ... we ordered 4 sandwich with 2 portions of chips at £3.50 a portion. One tiny bowl has 5 chips .... you do the maths !! The prawn sandwich was wet & sauce running out . Coffee lukewarm also it’s the same price no matter what coffee you go for so go for the biggest. Also luckily I had a card to pay cause it was my parents treat and they only carry cash but they refused to take cash, but handed over the card machine after taking my card and putting it in the machine....don’t see the difference really. Maybe this should be stated to everyone before they order food also cause not everyone carry’s cards around.

This review is purely for the restaurant, as we didn’t stay at the hotel. Can’t say if the hotel warrants a 4 star rating, but the restaurant certainly doesn’t. Whilst we realise everyone is doing their best during this time, this review is not about the staff, who were generally attentive and efficient (almost too efficient though, as the main course came within two minutes of finishing the starter!) making us feel rushed. We were in and out within an hour, which was supposed to be a ‘special’ evening out. The food was mediocre - we had chicken liver pate, which tasted and looked like meat paste. Couldn’t finish it. The main course was lamb shank and vegetables, which tasted fine, but the mash could have been powdered mash? It was no better than canteen food, hurriedly prepared, and the price tag at £30 for two courses was a rip-off. Onto the ambience - Bright lights in a big room, no subtle evening lighting/candles, no music, it was like eating school dinner in a school dining room. Just wondering why these big hotels don’t have a cocktail pianist to give a boring place some atmosphere? Some small changes could make all the difference! It doesn’t draw me into booking the actual hotel.

Firstly I can’t fault the service, from booking to being looked after on the day was excellent, all the staff were very friendly and attentive. We were given a private room in the Mostyn suite which was a perfect setting for a small baby shower and get together. The food itself was ok, they did a good job of catering for dietary requirements (dairy free and vegetarians), I would say the afternoon tea is priced quite high at £19 per head - compared to the quality of their food. The sandwiches were tasty apart from (we all agreed) that the ham was very dry and salty and there could have been a few more sandwiches to satisfy the appetites - the options were egg, ham and salmon - if would have been nice to have a wedge of lemon for the salmon (and egg, cheese, cheese and tomato for veggies), it would also have been nice if the sandwiches were dressed with a some salad leaves. The cakes were ok/average, nothing special and not all handmade, apart from the scones, it would have been nine to have had a nice Victoria or sponge cake included. However overall we did have a good experience and for us it was about spending time together as work colleagues before one goes off to have a baby, it was a rare occasion for us to have the same day off, so this was a nice treat for us all.I would return and recommend to others and would hope that the Terrace take on the feedback of myself and others and make a few small improvements to the food.

We were really looking forward to Christmas Lunch. The first two courses were promising .The soup was tasty and hot. However the main course was simply dreadful. Tepid in temperature.Roast potatoes like leather. After sending my lunch back 3 times to be warmed up, the waiter offered us a fresh meal each. Although this was better both in temperature and quality, it was still not up to the standard that I had expected. The turkey was moist but the vegetables were overcooked and had been waiting around a long time. Desert and coffee were fine. Staff were very polite and professional. The table setting immaculate. "oh yes" so far so good We arrived on the Sunday to find we had been booked for afternoon tea Ok but we are here for lunch. We wandered arround the Terrace Lounge with a waitress until she decided where to sit us. She left saying she would be back we waited and waited and waited I actually felt I had been dumped and forgottten especially as I had made it clear to her I would be paying by gift vouchers eventually I called over a waiter to take our drinks and food order. I was prepared for the wait for the food which was not excessive and probably less than I had waited for somebody to take my order. The food when it arrived was freshly prepared with good quality ingredients and could not be faulted Really enjoyable. Nobody asked if everything was ok or if we needed more drinks etc. Then we come to payment having made it quite clear on 2 separate occasions that i would be paying by gift voucher there was still a delay whilst staff checked with reception if they could be used I found this embarrassing. I still have another gift voucher which is valid until December but I am reluctant to go back.

We met up with friends at this hotel yesterday for lunch, initially there was a bit of a hick up. I had booked the table for 4 ahead of the visit and was looking forward to a first class lunch, as usual. Unfortunately when we arrived we were told that although I had asked for a table for 4 in the window that we could not have a seat there as only tables for two were in the window area. After a bit of confusion with the staff they found our booking and we were taken to a table for 4 in the window that had been set up for us. Then we were given the menu, which was very nice but only light lunches and sandwiches; this menu was a little limited and not the menu that I had seen online previously. I had a word with the reception and said that I had seen an a la carte menu online and as we all had travelled so far that day we really had hoped for a 3 course meal and not just sandwiches ect. The Maitre D arrived and said that they would speak to the chef and ask if it was possible for us to have the a la carte menu. He said that they had just changed menus that week and were now only serving light lunches but as it was online he would see what he could do. We were offered the a la carte menu and chose what we wanted. My starter was very fresh and tasty but took quite a while, almost 25 mins to arrive. An hour and 15 mins later we finally were presented with lunch, my cod was a little cold but did not want to complain again. The deserts were very nice and a latte to end the meal with chocolates. The staff were very attentive and pleasant, they were helpful but did seem a little erratic at times, as if they did not really know how to handle our situation. At first I thought there were hardly any staff on in the Terrace area and then about 6 waiters/waitress and the Maitre D seemed to appear out of nowhere. It was not that busy and 1pm when we arrived, although later more people turned up I did wonder why it seemed like the Marie Celeste when we arrived. There was a wedding on in the hotel so prob this was part of the problem that day. All in all, our visit was very good, the food was excellent and we were looked after in a very generous way. Thank you, we had travelled from Wrexham and my friends from Swindon, it was a very hot afternoon and eventually we were not disappointed with our visit to this hotel. I must say that I hope that when we come again it will be more organised and a little faster with the service. I know it is very difficult in some circumstances in the hotel business but if there is a wedding on then the hotel should take more staff on for that day and not try to cut back in the main restaurant areas, or neglect their footfall guests who are the "Bread and Butter" of many hotels like this.

When the lady who organised our afternoon tea event complained a rather unfriendly manager arrived and did nothing to resolve the situation despite being shown evidence of our booking and what we had been offered. We were promised cake as part of our afternoon tea but this never materialised and when queried on the day we were told there would be no cake with no apology or explanation given. A much needed sit down, after a lovely long walk from the Great Orme to the pier and all around this lovely seaside town. Great cocktails and perfect service, the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The bar was delightful and a nice easy atmosphere finished our afternoon.

The Terrace Restaurant and Bar used for afternoon tea, a delightful throwback to the days of Ladies Taking the Air, houses tables overlooking the sea. The views, of course, are delightful, with the two Ormes framing a Bay into which the longest Pier in Wales proudly projects itself. Afternoon teas are quite wonderful, with multiple sandwiches, cream scones and tiny cakes, while the Terrace also serves bar meals throughout the day.

We arrived after telephone booking, we had asked if we could have a sea view table and the lady on the phone said yes. On arrival we were told the terrace was full and no sea view was available after all, however the waiter who greeted us asked us to take a seat and he would see what was available, he found us a table for three by asking a single gentle man diner if he would mind moving to a single table so we got our sea view, so full marks to the waiter for exceptional customer service. The service we received throughout the afternoon was exceptional, the waiters were all attentive to their tables, we were offered top ups to the teapot and coffee.

I have have been visiting the hotel to dine in the evening in the Terrace Bar for a number of years, and up to now, the food has always been good. This year, however, that is not the case. I ordered the lamb curry on my first night and it was appalling. The people on the next table had just completed about the rice being watery and it took near in half an hour for it to be sorted out. My meal came just after this and I first noticed that the 'lamb curry' was completely devoid of flavour. My rice was also watery, not correctly drained and the naan bread was doughy as if it had come from a packet and been microwaved. I didn't mention this at the time because it was getting late and I was hungry and didn't want to wait half an hour!! I told the waiter afterwards and he shrugged his shoulders and said he could do noting because I ate most of the meal. I sort of accept this but there's also such a thing as goodwill when you're coughing up a good deal of money for a meal! I went in again last night because I had some wine left from the previous night. I had the plaice which I thought would be safe....thought it would! Various temperatures of the fish...scolding hot, mash....virtually warm, and some indifferent vegetables and very little of all of it! Also, the waiting staff need to be more in the boil and attend the Terrace more regularly, I had to find someone to be able to put in my order. I did think about complaining last night but this is probably better than deaf ears! Be careful of the seasonal accommodation too, they advertise two and three night stays but the figures are PER NIGHT! Get your act together St. George's!!

We hadn't booked and were really grateful that they slotted us in. We couldn't get a table on the terrace but were seated in the bar area. Service was friendly and efficient. My youngest daughter is vegetarian and we asked for changes which they did although they forgot initially - very apologetic however worth waiting as the food was really good. Great choice and plenty of it. Slightly pricey but worth it and a lovely treat. Would like to come back and have a sea view table.

We have just spent a lovely day in Llandudno during which we had lunch in the Conservatory. The staff were as always very attentive but there seems to be a modern trend to empty finished plates whilst others in the dining party were still eating, which to us is incorrect etiquette. The food was extremely nice as usual although we raised the issue of what appeared to be steamed roast potatoes. This was fed back to staff on the day so we hope our comments will be welcomed. We love the St George and it will not stop us returning to what is a nice hotel, good restaurant, nice staff, wide menu, with a excellent view of the bay.

I really like dining at this hotel . The staff are attentive ,courteous and friendly and well trained by the head waiter. The food is varied with a modern twist ,well cooked and beautifully presented on white tablecloths with white napkins . From the glassed verandah there is a great view of the promenade , the pier , the Ormes and the sea - - a lovely place to linger in an evening and watch the people strolling , dog walking and jogging by .

We went here for Sunday lunch to celebrate my partner's mother's birthday. We did not let the awful meal spoil our day, the weather was beautiful, we appreciated the view around the bay, enjoyed the wine and the staff were perfectly friendly. We were surprised to find the place almost empty when we arrived (bookings showed only four people but there were a few more in the restaurant). I had thought it was a top place to go but the menu was just like any pub except not as good. We went for the Sunday lunch roast option and were told it was pork ( you always get offered beef or dare I say Welsh lamb as well so already looking a bit worrying?). And then it arrived..... oh dear - school dinners came to mind, thin slices of a tasteless dry meat (no crackling) and a thin layer of gravy all served with some dry / overcooked maybe even microwaved veg, well it had seen better days, topped off with soggy boiled potatoes and soggy baked potatoes. We would have complained but did not want to spoil the lunch for my partner's mother. Do you need to retrain your chefs? Then went up the Orme and had spectacular weather and views before returning home for tea, so as terrible as the meal was it did not ruin our day. We look forward to trying somewhere different on our next visit.

Had afternoon tea bought for us for a present ,,very disappointed with the experience,,lovely place on the terrace with snow white tablecloths and napkins, the stands were brought out ,all the sandwiches were rock hard ,told the waiter he took them and changed them,,that food should never have been brought to the table in the first place,THEN THE CAKES,,,,swissroll tasted worse than the mouthwash at the dentist,,the waiter went and checked with the kitchens, said they had used mint oil instead of fresh mint,, over all was not good for four of us , no replacement for the nasty cake ,

Beautiful veranda behind glass the whole length of the hotel from where you can enjoy views over the promenade, the sea, the pier and the great orme. Meals can be had in the restaurant, or bar meals from a separate menu, in either case a seat within the terrace overllooking the sea is available. A good selection of food, presented well ,with great service in this 4 star hotel

The hotel is lovely. Welcoming , with a bit of finesse but my last visit was 145 of us for an evening meal. We had already preordered. £25 a head. The starters, we were served last and saw lots of pate being returned to the kitchen. Pate arrived on our table, mackerel but it was a slice of very soft pate, more a mousse consistency. No bread or Melba toast. When we asked if the bread was coming we were told by the waiter that the menu says pate and does not mention toast! It also said coffee and I could have pointed out that it did not specify hot water and milk in it! Main meal was plated. 1slice of meat which tasted nice, 4 carrot sticks, 1floret of broccoli 2roasties and 1boiled potato in half. 4 waiters were serving the whole room. No one asked if the meal was ok, I remember when we had silver service a few years ago, and were waited on properly. I was bitterly disappointed for such a fine hotel. I won't be going again.

I think this will now be our place to eat when visiting Llandudno again!

Booked an afternoon tea here to celebrate our friend's wedding, but we were very disappointed with the service we received. When we arrived, we notified staff of our booking but had to wait 10 minutes whilst he was clearing other tables.(I'd understand if it was busy, but it was very quiet). The waiter was pleasant enough, of what we saw of him. We had to get up 4 times to ask for more tea / milk and he didn't once ask if everything was ok with our food. He even walked away when my friend got up to ask him for some water (which we had previously asked for twice).I have to add that the sandwiches and cakes were delicious and on the basis of the food I'd recommend for others to visit, but unfortunately due to the terrible service, I would refrain from returning or recommending anyone to book an Afternoon Tea at your hotel.

Delicious food and staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We arrived for lunch in a fluster with a hungry baby and an elderly dog on a very wet Tuesday. From the moment we walked in the lobby the staff were lovely, finding us a table in a suitable area and giving us the time and space to get sorted. There was no hurry to order and they bought us coffee and water to heat the baby’s food before we ordered. Once calm was restored and we ordered the service continued to impress and the food was delicious and fairly priced. Credit to all at the hotel.

2 of the main courses were unavailable. The vegetables for the lamb course were unavailable. Alternative vegetables were given which were undercooked and cold. Potato was tasteless and cold . Did mention it to waiter whose response was sorry. £24 for a piece of lamb is unacceptable as I didn't eat the vegetables or potatoes.
