Absolutely dreadful experience at The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town. Our group of 16 arrived at the venue, but no staff were at the door for over 10 minutes, leaving us and another group of five confused about how to access the speakeasy. Once seated, things only got worse. Drinks took ages, charcuterie boards never arrived (yet we were charged), and staff shrugged off mistakes. Apparently, it takes them over an hour to prepare a cheese board. There was no communication between the kitchen and bar, and no manager on-site to address the issues. After spending over £300, we left feeling ripped off. Sent a complaint email, but no response. Avoid for group bookings, completely unreliable and dismissive.

Had a fab time at brunch. The food was delicious,the staff were amazing and there was no waiting for top ups to our cocktails. Will deffo be back.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try an experience in a London speakeasy! It was a perfect choice! Crazy place, you enter from the fridge and exit from the bathroom of the place you enter from. A hidden and suggestive place where you can take refuge with a delicious cocktail made by professionals! I recommend you take the one with popcorn, a unique experience! The staff was very kind and friendly! Absolutely not to be missed!

Gorgeous little bar, tucked away with amazing cocktails and great ambience. The bartenders are spectacular, one in particular, called Hylas, was exceptional. When you go make sure you ask him to walk you through the cocktail you’re drinking. Knows his stuff and great to chat to

Hylas was amazing with service and attentive to the table throughout service. Drinks made were amazing and full of flavour. The music also set a very chilled vibe and matched the setting. A great place to visit as it’s quite unique with the dining experience from upstairs and downstairs

We took our son and girlfriend here for his birthday to bottomless brunch. book a table, and then you can walk past the queue for breakfast club. Give the password, and you will be ushered through the big Smeg fridge and down to the secret bar. Choices are limited (hence 4 stars), but the food was great, and the service is fun, friendly, and attentive. Good fun and a different place to go for an occasion.

Loved everything about it. Great vibe; good for dates or friends. Drinks were great; Cinema Paradisio one of the best I’ve ever had. The deep fried goat cheese was to die for.

Price is fine. Food and drink is fine. Vibe is superrr cool. Manager was visibly rude to his staff in front of guests and was very stressful to communicate with despite the restaurant being half empty. Exuded low energy. Left a sour taste for sure. Everyone else was pleasant. Can still recommend though. Perfect for a first date type of vibe.

Music volume to me was a bit loud.

Truly amazing experience. Another level of cocktails. The Japanese whisky with “coconut noodles” was breathtaking.

A very unique speakeasy which is cleverly hidden underneath The Breakfast Club Restaurant. Since it's a "speakeasy", the entrance is camouflaged. We thought we had gone to the wrong address when a young lady stepped out of a side room and asked us if we were there to "speak to the Mayor". We said "yes" and she told us to open the door to the refrigerator. Magically, through the refrigerator, were stairs leading down to the speakeasy. They have very unique drinks and lots of atmosphere. A fun experience!

We were greeted and welcomed by a very friendly and warm receptionist who tried to fit us in despite no booking. She was thoughtful and caring ensuring that we were attended to as the spare table was available for only 40 minutes and explained we could stay, but had stand to which we didn’t mind given the slot was given at the very last minute. The bartender still found a space for us after the 40 mins were up of which we are soooooo grateful! The cocktails were super; the bartender explained the cocktails patiently, and served it in a hospitable way. They made us feel special thank you very much!

It's a very interesting speakeasy concept. I'll highly recommend that you keep this as a pitstop, rather than the first stop of your evening. Their cocktail menu was very thoughtfully crafted, with many nice drinks put together by the amazing bartending team. We had The Merchant, the Cinema Paradiso, and the Bella Vita. Set the 5 of us back 90gbp in total. Make sure you also tell the security "I'm here to see the Mayor", so that you can even get through!

Honestly probably one of the best drinks I've ever had! Definitely recommend the Whiskey Wildcat! Made me do a happy dance! Cool speakeasy atmosphere. A little to poppy music for my taste, but overall great experience.

We didn't eat, but we did drink. We met here the night before Taylor Swift and we had a blast. Proper cocktails and good vibes.

What a cool place for a catch up with friends! Intimate atmosphere, nice music (bit too loud tho), tasty nachos and good selection of cocktails. The cherry at the top of the cake is definitely the entrance: a fridge door. I’m loving it!!!

I absolutely love this place and need to make an effort to stop in more often. The cocktails are phenomenal and the staff is always very knowledgeable. We absolutely LOVED the woman that sat us. I forgot to get her name, but she was so welcoming and helpful. Definitely check this place out if you have a chance. I do recommend making a booking, though!

If you’re into speakeasies, this is your place. It’s a fantastic “hidden bar”experience (complete with a hidden passage through a fridge) and top-quality cocktails. Nothing I ordered was under 10/10. I especially recommend you order the Cinema Paradiso!

Great speakeasy within the breakfast club. The receptionist welcomed us very friendly and took us through the entrance inside an old SMEG fridge. The atmosphere is really good and the music is at the right volume to facilitate a good conversation. We had 3 cocktails each (6 in total) and each was better than the previous one. I particularly recommend cinema paradiso as it’s served in a popcorn bucket with popcorns on top of it. The staff were very friendly and always keeping an eye on the table to ensure we had water and/or drinks. Unfortunately we arrived after 8pm so the kitchen was closed but we had a bucket of popcorn and they were very nice. Overall a great experience. Would recommend to anyone that like speakeasy bars.

Not great service considering the extortionate price of the cocktails. Lady who greeted us on the ground level was lovely, however actual bar and waiting staff couldn't give 2 $h_ts, guy looking after our table would be in the middle of taking our order then would F off halfway without saying "excuse me, jusy doing xyz will be right back". After paying a +£200 bill and requesting a pale ale shortly after, the guy came over and plonked the can and glass on our table - didn't even bother to open and pour the damn thing. Lighting was much too dark we had to use a phone torch to read the menu, and air conditioning was much too cold. Music was also so loud we had to shout over one another. Disappointing and underwhelming, will not be returning.

Used to be good… At our last visit the cocktail glasses were completely filled with fitted ice blocks and hardly any drink. Nachos were cheap supermarket nachos with far too little sauce.

My husband and I found this place on viral video… so we had our doubts. Went after a show in the West End… the place was closed but when we opened the door there was this gorgeous hostess ,”Can I help you love?” Yup! So much fun and they were all so gracious. Music was awesome. I had the same drink twice… it was so good.. Midnight Daquiri with a tiny top hat… my husband had some crazy drink served in a smoking box… outrageous. Wish we had come here sooner as we had to leave London the next day… well worth staying up past our bed time!!!

Booked into here for a start up meeting with friends. Loved the idea of the secret bar and wasn't disappointed. The staff were great fun and the drinks were fabulous Cocktails are really interesting and funky. Loved the theatre of the place and atmosphere was great Only criticism would be the amount of chewing gum stuck under the tables Think this is something that needs attention - fairly quickly. Ewww. But other than that, a great few hours to start the weekend! Thanks guys

Hylis and Jackson were literally the coolest, nicest, chilliest guys and actually sat and listened to what I wanted from a cocktail perspective...the gents knew their trade amazingly well and hit the spot with everything they made. 10/10 will be back

One of my all time favourite bars in London, lots of fun to walk in and be guided to the bar. Snug atmosphere, always feels friendly. Staff give good recommendations for cocktails.

Atmosphere is better than 5 stars if you love Cats as I do! A hidden gem in London. You will need a booking but if you can to the entry and ask they may have some extra booking if you wait for 1 hour, and it definitely worth it. It's a "recaleto" place (sorry, you will need to find the definition of that word in Spanish from Bogota, Colombia 🤭). Cats cats cats. Cocktails and the walls are full of adaptation to from those feline animals. The cocteles are a bit pricey but there is a reason for that, those are really great! There are 2 bathrooms (no genre specified). And you will need to discretely reenter to the place if you go to those (The idea is to keep the idea of the hidden entry of the bar 😸) To order anything you will need to leave your credit/debit card and they will return a card (you will not be charged with it, it's just to keep a control as you are free to leave in any moment and I think that they just want to avoid nasty experiences with people leaving without paying).

We didn’t have a booking but the lovely front of house got us booked in for 7:30 on a Saturday night. Fantastic entrance and the theme of a secret speakeasy and the instructions for leaving were great. The cocktails were very tasty, I ordered a Moscow Mule which wasn’t on the menu but it was no problem. Music was my kind of music (80s)

We were really looking forward to this and stepping through the fridge was certainly and experience - a good one. And it went downhill after that. Service was terrible - I mean really awful. We had to chase for someone to take our order - and it wasn't that busy really. Staff appeared just to be chatting and not really paying attention. When we did eventually place an order it took so long that we actually left before it came - we did say we weren't waiting - and no apologies or anything like that. They just couldn't have cared less. Cant pass comment on the quality of the drinks because we never got one.

Stepping into The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town is like entering a secret world, tucked away behind a nondescript fridge door in London. This speakeasy-style bar serves up an incredible selection of cocktails that are as inventive as they are delicious. Each drink we tried was a masterpiece of mixology, with flavors that were both unique and wonderfully balanced. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, perfect for whispered conversations and a relaxed evening. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, recommending the perfect drinks to suit our tastes.

An awesome cocktail bar based on an old American speakeasy. You enter via a fridge door down steps into a basement bar. Cocktails are mixed in front of you as part of a show and are seriously good.

As a cat-lover, this was a dream come true! Everything was cat-themed, but if you don't like cats, nothing about this would make you want to grimace. The entire experience was fun and the service was great. While a bit pricey, the drinks were fantastic.

Quirky interior, good cocktails, nice staff and awesome playlist. Most of the songs played the first time I was here were some of my favorites. Had Bitter& Twisted and The Merchant.

The start of our experience was great. We were welcomed by a very energetic hostess who put us in the right mood. The cocktails that we choose were made perfectly but unfortunately the waiter had a rude vibe almost like he hated being in this cool place where you are set up perfectly

Probably the most disappointing boozy bottomless brunch I’ve ever had. Some meal options are tiny (single small burger as the entire meal) and when asked to add some potatoes to make it equivalent to others (full breakfast), we were charged extra… The atmosphere was nice and staff were friendly. However, the whole experience didn’t feel like it was worth the cost. Not surprising it was empty compared to the massive line upstairs for the other restaurant.

The initial reception was great by front of house and the quirky entrance to the pub was a lot of fun. After being seated in the underground bar, we were on barstools, which is ok but not relaxing. The cocktails were pricey, but this is central London after all. The cinema Paradiso was great for a popcorn snack and cocktail all in one, but the drink had more ice than liquid (ice and popcorn was a weird mouth experience too!) but what really let this place down for me was a miserable waiter serving us our drinks on Tuesday 26th March, he really looked like he didn't want to be there that day, and also the state and smell of the unisex toilets was not at all good (see picture). This place is great for the quirky and fun entrance but after that, it is "just ok" in my opinion.

Been looking to try out one of London's hidden 'speakeasy' style bars for a while - and where better to start than through the fridge ! Would definitely recommend booking, especially for in the evenings on weekends - and the table is only booked for an hour. Fun cocktails with each coming with a little something extra depending on the price - such as a chunk of peanut brittle, crystallised ginger, or served in a novelty glass. Great music choices too, just the right atmosphere.

We asked to see the Mayor. Really well 'hidden ' speakeasy, lovely host, attentive bar team accompanied by some fantastic mixologists. Didn't try the food, but it looked lovely when passing. Dimly lit, like stepping back in time. It's not the cheapest of places to visit but well worth it.

The evening was spoiled, the receptionist was extremely rude, we faced with a charge for being late (which was refunded later), but were forced to spend our time to get there, and on the road we recognised we would be not seated. No apologies. Highly not recommended for booking

Hyper quirky. Trendy. Decadent. Slightly expensive, but this is a destination venue in London.

Ok, the easiest way to explain it is this.. You're here to see the Mayor. It was my wifes 40th birthday and we booked ahead of time. I booked online and requested the date (a Saturday 24th Feb @ 8pm), length of time needed at the table (you get either 1hr or 1hr30m). A responce back didn't take long! Assuming the popularity of this venue, it is clear to see why you only get a certain time. Dress code: Casual, no need to dress fancy, but I'm sure it would be super cool if you did! We entered (I'm sure by now you may of seen the "secret" and don't need me to explain), and straight away the atmosphere hits you, along with admittedly some claustraphobia. It doesn't take long for that to disappear as straight away you are greeted by the team ready for the shennanigans to start, I advise you download the menu and be ready with your demands as again, this place is fast. What seemed like no effort needed we had our cocktails, I had the aristrocat and my wife had um, something I can't remember, they were amazing (see pictures). We ordered food, and that was just as fast. Menu-wise, it's a simple no messing food affair, reminisant of back home flavors and quick-bite convinence, again please prepare so you can make the most out of this place. Music-wise I felt like I was transported to an almost late 80s miami with a loud mixture of disco and funk, perfect for something so niché and secretive! Absorbing the vibe from the decor and grandure, it is a place of mystery and intrigue, perfect for people who need to get away from the super indulgent high priced popularised glamour of the upper world and its skyscrapers. Here I believe is one of the best parts; when you are at your table, glasses of water are topped up continually for you to drink as often as you can/want. This helps you enjoy the cocktails and keep yourself from getting a little too hammered, albiet it also helps maintain the possible hangover the next day. I can safely say that if every bar/resturant did this, we would more than likely have a better imprint of welfare for those that don't really have a threshold for maximisation. All in all did we enjoy it? The Mayor Of Scardey Cat Town is simply brilliant, an awesome concept of mystery and discovery. I personally, needed to pick a place that appealed to my wifes more introvertial/casual mindset and to not feel out of place in a city so draped in asthetics, TMOSCT gave us just that. We will be back, you can bet your cat on it.

Absolutely excellent. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and more than happy to help. We’ve been waiting 18 months to come here and weren’t disappointed. The only downside was that ONE of the toilets was absolutely filthy. Other than that it was perfect in every way.

5* popcorn. I’ve been a mixologist for 12 years and think this is now, my new favourite cocktail bar. What an amazing place. Thank you so much to Alex with the tatts, phenomenal service & thank you to sammy for slamming every Cocktail perfectly for us through the whole light. Spent £150 here in three hours. A REAL COCKTAIL BAR, also big thanks to Alex our host who guided us on our journey. Sounds pricey. Worrrh EVERY PENNY.

The bar man was so rude. We didn’t see the sign in the entrance, neither did the couple in front of us, and he told us off and told us to go wait upstairs in a super rude way. We obviously missed it by accident and he told us off and made us go wait upstairs when it was a Sunday evening and was half empty.

LOVED this place! When I told someone I was going to London, they said that I HAD to go to this place. My friend also heard it from one of her friends so we decided to go. Hands down, a great experience and wonderful atmosphere. Drinks were fabulous. I had the "Tea with Mayor" - I can't recall the correct name but that's pretty close. If you go to London.....please go visit the Mayor. You will love it!

Tried to pop in on a whim with my other half after dinner nearby because I'd never been and he had before and thought I would enjoy it. Staff on door were great, noted we had no booking but not an issue we could have a table. Got taken downstairs, put at a table and a menu and some water supplied. I picked my cocktail, partner still perusing the menu and put his torch on because he's short sighted and couldn't read the menu properly in the darker light...which is when it all went wrong, the waiter decided he was "too drunk" wouldn't serve him and told us to leave. We were in there less than 10 minutes, baffled as to the short shrift and went elsewhere to enjoy our night. The cocktails might be nice, I'll never know because I absolutely won't return.

Great idea let down by a very un helpful and unfriendly waiter. He really gave the impression he didn't want to be there and ruined the whole experience. They are charging premium prices for the cocktails so give a premium service.

I was so excited the first time I got in, however tonight we were waiting for about half an hour inside with no one greeting us asking for the password. I am truly sad, the Mayor was so unforgettable last time and the drinks are one of the most amazing I've ever tasted...

Customer beware!.... Grossly overpriced cocktail.. Glass is over 50% ice😳... It promises lots but delivers a pretty dissapointing experience!... Try it if you will but it's a thumbs down from me👎

Made a reservation to “see the mayor” with my friend and our two daughters who just turned 21. We all absolutely loved it! Such a different thing to do. The girls were v excited to walk through a fridge into a speakeasy! The staff were all warm and friendly, service was great, as were the cocktails and the fries! And the venue itself was super cool, intimate and had a great buzzy vibe. I also loved the old Smash Hits magazine pages on the bathroom walls! Would def return.

You will enter the bar through the fridge which doubles as a door. The atmosphere is excellent. it's a speak-easy bar and the cocktails are great. Make sure you have a reservation when visiting the place.

We took an amazing holiday to London and Scotland. This was one of the highlights of our trip. Such a wonderful place. Great hostess, bartender, and just all around a great time. We were there on a night that the grill was closed, so we didn’t eat there. (which we knew it wouldn’t be open, no surprise) Walking through the refrigerator was very cool. (No pun intended!) I recommend, if you ever get to London this needs to be on your to do list! You won’t be disappointed!

Drinks were okay, a bit strong flavoured and needed mellowing out. Great experience but would review the cocktails.
