Hired out the function room for a baby shower. Amazing service absolutely amazing food. Definitely worth the money and definitely will use again

Went for a 18 birthday meal had ower meals but had to send meals back because they were wrong wasn't even busy Got a round of drinks for adults and children One of the children has Malibu and coke when I toke it back to the bar young lady apologized but then when I spoke to the manager he got defensive and bar staff called Leah got mouthy towards us Food rank 2 older staff members were rude with bad service And 1 lovely lass who served ower food feel sorry for her to work there

We have just returned from a little break ...first of all we must praise the rooms and the fact there is plenty of onsite parking. A couple of negatives...no power at all in the lower shower, it was more of a tinkle.The meals we had were OK,we were told it was a new menu,but not everybody wants chips/fries with their meals! A choice of potato's would be good...plus the steak and ale pie was very dry inside. The main negative was the staff...not very friendly at all...we tried to have a chat with them but no response...maybe because we weren't local? In deed when we were checking out the lady with long dark hair who was stood behind the bar in the area where they serve breakfast and the carvery,couldn't even be bothered to say goodbye when we did,we just got 1/2 a smile. Customers are your bread and butter and pleasant staff go along way to people returning

Wonderful one night stay at the Mayfield. Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Excellent value, great service and tasty breakfast. Will definitely stay again and hope to be able to try the evening food there next time too.

We have been going to The Mayfied for 30 years or so now, despite not living here in the UK. We have had birthday & anniversary parties, wakes, Sunday lunches, parties, drunken Boxing Days, and many, many more special moments here. The Staff are always great and the whole place is special. Highly recommended for any occasion.

Didn't stay at the hotel. Just had a meal. The meal itself was lovely. I finally had a Yorkshire pudding wrap. The only thing that let it down was the gravy. It was way too salty. Half made chips that were fantastic. A huge portion. I left loads. Staff were friendly although didn't come round and ask if everything was OK until they took the plates away at the end. Bar was very busy.

Just came across this, so popped in for a meal. It didn't disappoint.

I stayed here over New Year with 2 friends and had a really enjoyable time. The room was lovely and clean. The food was tasty especially the breakfast and steak pie. We took part in the New Year's Day pub quiz and we were rubbish. I definitely recommend a visit, I bet the Sunday carvery is great 👍

This is not a place to stay where you can unwind and relax. The owner leaves young kids to run the hotel side of things, who are severely lacking in basic social skills and communication. The glass door at the bottom of the stairs is an absolute nightmare when trying to get to the rooms. It does not have a soft close and will slam of it's own accord. At that point a young whippersnapper will appear, rally the troops, give you a hard time and call the fuzz. Unfortunately stairs can be a bit of a challenge for us sometimes, but no patience given what-so-ever. Just a load of grief and BS cause they wanted to go home at the end of their shift. If they'd just left us to it everything would have been fine. Zero stars if I could. Didn't get to stay in the room cause of the amount of fuss caused and didn't get offered a refund for an absolute disaster of a stay. A life changing experience that I would never care to repeat again. Hope you are happy with your treatment of your paying guests.

First things a per Google review. Rooms, step Son and wife stayed, the room let's say Cosy! Very clean and acceptable. Staff as we visit often (local) are very Polite and will aid in any help needed take note can be busy at times so can be rushed off so not always available for chit chat, not rude it is a business. Food is admittedly up and down but like most places luck of the draw. Location 100% it's Seamer close to everything via a taxi Coastal or 20mins walk to the train Station. Any Tribute acts on need to be booked early if you are staying to help get a seat or involved.

Booked this hotel as it looked very good, was in the right area that we wanted to be in and to be very honest, we were not too dissapointed.

Only popped in for a drink, but it's a really nice place. A garden area, a children's area, a dining area and a very comfortable pub area. I recommend it for people holidaying in the area.

Arrived at 4pm not greeted by any of the staff there and once we did get served wasn't very friendly. And kitchen closed and no food till 5!

The hotel room was really clean and had a kettle and fridge. It also had a safe in the room too. Staff were really friendly and the food was good to. There is plenty of parking in the car park behind the property

Great room and breakfast service Would recommend!!

We visited last Sunday, on arrival, we were stood at the Bar for 12 minutes with no sign of any staff... I called the number on the website and kindly asked if someone was available at the bar.... Mistake On arrival, a young lady came, someone behind her LOUDLY shouted "Has someone actually rang" We were then finally served with who I can only describe as Gemma Collins from Essex... Total attitude and down right rude... Food - As always was lovely, as were the waiting staff. When asked about our meal, by a really polite young girl, I did raise a concern about the rude member of bar staff - She instantly knew who we were referring too. This is a lovely place with lovely food, this member of bar staff is ruining that.

Come here mostly for the carvery. Because the veg selection is good , the Yorkshire are spot on , but also the beef is cooked really well, not dried or overdone like most carveries. It's also high if you are so inclined to go a bit mental on the roasts or cheese leek or even peas if you're a bit of a loop. Recently tried a mid week visit to try something other than the carvery.. Opted for a bluecheese and mushroom burger.. it was fairly priced, but cooked to perfection, none of that cooked within an inch of its life burger nonsense. Juicy goodness is what I want, and juicy goodness is exactly what I received. I can't comment about the accommodation as I'm local.

Stopped here for 2 nights for a wedding. The room was very clean and a good size. The bed was massive I wish I could have brought it home with me it was very comfortable. The food there was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend here.

Fantastic family friendly pub with free indoor soft play of a decent size, and nice airy bright spaces to eat. We didn’t see the hotel rooms to comment. Food was lovely and filling too. I’d definitely go back!

Lovely hotel on the Main street in Seamer. Comfy beds in generous sized rooms with ensuite facilities. Nice breakfasts if your staying on a B&B basis and friendly staff. Well stocked bar with at least 3 real ales on offer and tasty food served until 2100hrs daily. Play area for young children with cctv coverage for parents enjoying a drink in the area just outside the area. A place we would return to if the need arises in the future.

Stopped here for a drink, i won't write the detail of our visit but initially we were made to feel not wanted by the locals, the bar staff and manager were brilliant along with the drinks. We were planning on trying the food the 2nd night but we were put off by the experience, such a shame because it seemed such a lovely pub. Just to add it was only a minority, but it has put us off going back. You don't expect abuse from people you don't know in a small village pub.

Great for delicious Sunday lunch great atmosphere and friendly staff

We booked a table for lunch last Friday in the family room for eight people, including our three year old granddaughter. The food was excellent. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us. Looking forward to our next visit.

One mouthful of the pie was enough. I left the rest on the plate. Even my Guinness had a tinny sort of taste. Not sure how a pub can do that but this one did!

Food and location are great. It's a great village pub but the staff are hit and miss and ruin it for the customer.

I recently visited The Mayfield in Seamer and had a fantastic experience. The standout for me was the chicken platter – a flavorful delight that was cooked to perfection. Additionally, the variety of options available for kids is impressive, catering well to little ones with different tastes. One of the unique attractions of The Mayfield is its soft play area. This is a fantastic feature, especially when it's less crowded, allowing children to play safely and enjoyably. However, during my visit, I observed that when the play area gets busy, there isn't much supervision regarding age limits. This led to some bigger kids dominating the space and unfortunately, some altercations among the children ensued. Overall, The Mayfield offers great food and is a wonderful venue for families. It might be beneficial for the management to consider a more structured approach to the soft play area to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all children.
