The Masons Arms in Cotswold

Yesterday we visited this wonderful place. Very cozy place, not noisy, but there were people around. Nice service staff greeted us with smiles and politely showed us to the table. The dishes were served in original dishes, with beautiful presentation. We started with king prawns with garlic, it's something incredible! Be sure to try it! And a salad with prawns, bacon. For the main course I chose Sebas fish, prawns and vegetables. The fish was amazing!!! I really liked the delicate sauce. I rarely eat the whole portion, but yesterday I did it easily. My husband chose a burger. It was a great huge burger! My man was satisfied and full. For dessert we took creme brulee and toffee pudding. A magnificent dessert!

Perfect country pub/hotel. Great from start to finish. Will was lovely and showed us to our room, small but perfect. Immaculate!!!. All tge staff are so friendly. Great choice of food and wine in the restaurant and plenty of choice for breakfast. Definitely recommend 👌

We were a party of 8 booked for the last Sunday in August. Most of us had a Sunday roast. It was so close to perfect. The beef was delicious, the gravy certainly lived up to its awesomeness and the Yorkshire pudding was one of the best I’ve ever had. However, the roast potatoes were hidden under the meat (possibly deliberately?) and were more like boiled potatoes. It was a real shame. I spoke to a member of staff (it took a while as they were understandably busy). They said that the chef wasn’t always great with feedback but that they might tell him after the rush had died down. They had also noted the potatoes were not right the Sunday before either. As I went to the toilet I could see a huge bowl of “roasties” in the kitchen that were nowhere near the colour they should have been and therefore had no crunch. They were soft. I’d also have liked a little more veg to share between the large number of us and more meat (but I forgave that as it was so very tasty.) I only mention this as we all commented on the disappointment in the potatoes on our first meal out during our annual holiday.

Overnighter heading to Dorset. Great welcome from Will who showed us to our beautiful room. The evening menu was comprehensive and great deal at £19 for three courses. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. The staff were all very helpful, and the whole place dog friendly. Beds, treats, dog bags and towels were all available to make their stay comfortable.

Booked in advanced for a family of 6 for Sunday dinner, just gone (25th). We ordered 4 x roast dinners (Pork, Beef and chicken (Childs)), Chicken burger and Childs sausage and chips. Every single dish was good, especially the roast dinners and the veg, it hit the mark on every level. Our friend who’s a RAF chef (and sometimes hard to please) and said it was the best roast he’d had in the long time (praise indeed from him). Service was tiptop from Isabel. Restaurant and toilets sparklingly clean. Absolutely cannot wait to return. Well done x

The fixed price weekday menu is the best £25 you can spend in the Cotswolds. Every course was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Well done to everyone involved.

We visited the area for the weekend and went to the Mason Arms as it had good reviews - it did not disappoint. We sat in the quiet restaurant. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was amazing - I ordered the stilton and pear salad, the beetroot burger and treacle tart, and my husband ordered the cheddar and chorizo arancini balls and regular burger. All hot, tasty and arrived quickly. If back in the area again we will definitely return to the Masons Arms!

We stayed for two nights here, rooms were clean and tidy. Bedroom was cosy, well decorated and bed was comfortable. We couldn't really hear the noise from the pub underneath us. Food was delicious and service was always delivered with a smile. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff and they all made us feel welcome and were friendly. The open fire was a lovely touch. This restaurant has such a lovely atmosphere, absolutely spotless too. Waiting and bar staff are lovely as is front of house, waiting staff are friendly and attentive to your needs. Food was gorgeous - the cheddar and chorizo arancini was to die for.

A delightful pub in a lovely location. We stayed here for four nights and could not fault anything. The room was very comfortable and the food, both breakfast and dinner, plentiful and of a high standard. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to returning later in the year.

As others have said, the fire, the dogs, the food, the room, the service, every bit of our stay was amazing. The staff were so helpful and accommodating with parking, bat service, attentive to every detail.

I stayed in this place for 2 days in October … absolutely lovely! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was the best I had in England for the 3 weeks we were there. Superb! The rooms were well stocked with snacks and refreshment's, clean and inviting. If I ever come to the this area again this place is a Must! I had to come and give it a rating it left that much of an impression. I read the owners are new… great job 👏🏼!

Went on a Sunday to experience the roast. Couldn’t fault it. We each had a different roast meat, one chicken, one pork and the others beef and everyone rated it as near perfection. All meats cooked perfectly, ambiance and spacing and temperature of the venue great and the service wonderful. Shame I live in London. I’d come here every week if I loved locally. Great variety on the plate with cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets, stuffing and Yorkies as standard extras on every plate and an additional gravy bowl provided for the group.

We stayed at The Masons Arms for three nights in August to attend a family wedding nearby. Really lovely staff and very welcoming. We had a twin & double which were interconnecting, useful if you’re travelling with children/ friends. The rooms are quite small. 1 & 2. Very comfortable beds. Very dimly lit, bedside lamp was not enough to read by. There was no mirror in the bedroom so I had to take the bathroom mirror off the wall and place on window sill to do my hair & makeup. Only other slight annoyance was the a/c for the kitchen was outside our window which clicks on at 7.00am and runs all day but not throughout the night. So had to keep shutting our windows. We were in room 2. However the food was excellent. Good choice and delicious as were the wines. Service was very friendly. It was great to be able to sit outside in the early evening sunshine. Next time I would ask for a room at the front.

We stayed here in March for my birthday. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. When you arrive you check-in in the busy bar area but when you're shown yo your room you're shown a private entrance which you're given the keys to. The room was large and perfect for sharing with our little family as it was c shaped with bed at each end for a little privacy. The private bathroom was central to the room. It is so dark and quiet at night we all slept really well. In the morning we headed back down to the bar and were given breakfast by the crackling fire. I'm vegetarian and my husband eats all the meat and we were both really impressed with the breakfast. We'd definitely stay here again

Great village pub. This was a family lunch and as well as the Sunday Roast there was other food on offer from the menu. The roast beef was excellent, as too was all the food and we will be back, as we live close by.

Delighted with all aspects of my stay with you two nights ago for which many thanks. Lovely welcome then a table for one by the fireplace. Delicious pasta dish preceded by chicken liver parfait. Really comfortable bed and well appointed shower/ bathroom. Lovely breakfast the next morning. Very friendly and attentive staff. I will be back when in business in Cirencester for sure.

No hubiéramos encontrado este excelente pub fuera de lo común en Marston Mersey si no hubiéramos estado allí para recoger algo. Nos recibieron con una cálida sonrisa y nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos a pesar de que llegamos casi una hora antes. Es recomendable reservar, ya que es muy popular y se llena muy rápido. Ambos tuvimos el rosbif que llegó con una nube del budín de Yorkshire más ligero y crujiente flotando en la parte superior. La carne estaba cocinada a la perfección, tierna y rosada, las papas crujientes y esponjosas, todo cocinado y presentado a un alto nivel. Una comida de excelente calidad. Solo desearía que no viviéramos a más de 100 millas de distancia.

Parking is an issue at the Masons Arms. Otherwise it is a very professional operation. We enjoyed our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had an excellent dinner. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food. Excellent English breakfast served in front of an open fire.

My partner and I stayed on Saturday night, as we were going to a wedding nearby! The owners were so accommodating, and let us check in early so we could get ready for the event!The room itself was gorgeous! The interiors were first class, and there was a lovely en-suite too! The bar/restaurant was perfect for a Christmas getaway, with a gorgeous, country cosy feel! This was helped by a fabulous roaring fire and ask a log burner!The next day, feeling a little jaded from the wedding, we went down for breakfast! Again, a roaring fire was on and we were treated to one of the tastiest breakfasts I’d ever had! I had the bacon ciabatta and my partner had the full English!!! The tea and coffee were also ten out of ten! This place was ten out of ten, and so reasonable for the quality of accommodation, food and service! Our only negative was that we had to get back to London so soon! But we will be back!

The food was fantastic, the rooms (especially the bathrooms!) were spacious, comfy and offered everything we needed. To top it all off, the staff made our stay a pleasure.

Pub de piedra muy pintoresco. Bonita decoración interior. Muy buen ambiente. El personal es agradable, acogedor y eficiente. Selección ligeramente limitada de cervezas locales. Pero fantástica selección de gins. La comida estaba bien de precio. Buena relación calidad-precio para las comidas de los niños. La comida estaba muy rica. Todos en nuestra mesa estaban muy felices. Aunque el linguini era un poco cocinado. Todo el año definitivamente mucho mejor que su tarifa de pub promedio.

Recientemente nos alojamos en The Masons Arms para una boda que estaba cerca.

He estado unas cuantas veces para las hamburguesas excepcionales y las papas fritas cortadas a mano (¡oh, CHIPS!!!) Pero vi los Ñoquis silvestres de ajo y pensé "vamos a darle una oportunidad". ¡He tenido los ñoquis adecuados cocinados por las abuelas italianas y esto fue SPOT ON! . ¡Toneladas de ajo silvestre con un poco de espinaca y guisantes para redondear el plato y algunas deliciosas virutas de queso parmesano fresco! Nunca puedo criticar este pub!

Every meal I've had has been great and of a good portion size, only critasism is slightly costly - Sunday lunch is fantastic but you need to book as gets very busy

Nuestra familia se alojó en los masones entre Navidad y Año Nuevo. Habitaciones sencillas y recientemente renovadas con estilo y modernas duchas, todo lo que necesita. La comida de pub gastrointestinal con un toque, todo a un precio razonable, es excelente. Desayuno una delicia. Definitivamente estaremos de vuelta.

Reservamos aquí ya que el menú en línea tenía una gran selección de comidas principales. El menú de la noche era casi completamente diferente al menú de muestra en línea, que inicialmente fue decepcionante porque las comidas reales no parecían tan atractivas.

Lovely 4 night stay at the Masons Arms.

Arrived and was really impressed by the whole place, bar is gorgeous and rooms are lovely. Had a fabulous meal and wine and then retired to our room. Unfortunately this is where the good review ends. We were in room 7, next to the boiler, that literally never stopped emptying and refilling all night. At 11.30pm, at our wits end and desperate for some sleep I tried calling the pub number thinking there might be an emergency number to call to swap rooms. There wasn’t. So despite the place clearly being mostly empty we had no choice but to stay in the room and get no sleep. Definitely would not return.

Visited with 10 of my colleagues one evening. We were promptly shown to our table and the menu was great with a good variety of delicious food.

Recently returned from a 2 night visit with my Mum and sister. We had a fantastic stay here. We had rooms 1 & 2 (2 single beds and a double across two interconnecting rooms), which were perfect for us as we could all be together but have our own space. Everything was of a high standard, clean and keeping to the original features.

Tucked away in the Village of Mersey Hampton is a fabulous little hotel.

Room experience, Small room, overpriced, at £90; should be £70,tops.

We came for a good ol’ Sunday roast- I had the lamb, partner had the pork. Both plates had plentiful amounts of meat, very tasty with well cooked veg. Desserts were the usual high quality. Staff as pleasant and attentive as ever.

Hubby had lamb roast, he said it was the best he'd ever eaten! I had a fabulous fish dish, we had a few gins and shared a bottle of Pinot. The staff are wonderful and friendly.

Had lunch at The Masons Arms yesterday and was most impressed. The menu is quite short and varied so there is something for everyone and a good sign that the food is freshly cooked. Apparently the menu is changed about monthly to accommodate the seasonal ingredients. Well cooked food and nicely presented by welcoming and friendly staff. The bouillabaisse was outstanding as were the skin on chips!!

Nothing fancy, An average looking pub. However the food and service is very good. Reasonably priced. Nice small menu. The waitress, was very helpful, by making a starter into a main. Can't say much more really. Yes I will return.

We went to the masons for my daughters birthday as she loves a Sunday roast .the meal was ok , my partner had the roast pork along with my daughter it was a little chewy which is very unusual for here as have not had a bad meal here .we had to wait a very long time for table service .but it was busy .

My family and I drove down from the Midlands and due to traffic we arrived at 2.10pm, the pub stopped serving food at 2pm, however they were still bringing food out, and we felt they could have at least done us a sandwich, however, there was no offer of this, we did not go back for dinner as we felt that they had an opportunity to go that extra mile by simply doing a sandwich, but it was not to be!

Went to The Masons Arms for my leaving meal and throughly enjoyed my experience. The food and service was excellent thanks to Emma our waitress. Would highly recommend!

When we were in the Cotswolds on a Sunday we were looking for somewhere to have a evening meal.Phoned them last orders for food on a Sunday 8.00. Arrived sat at table to be told they had run out off all roast dishes plus buns for the burgers?? what sort of management is this!! Off course we did not eat finished our drink and left.This is not the only pub in the Cotswolds we had trouble finding food on a Sunday night.Nice looking pub though.

Nice evening spent here with friends. Food was great, and with wine and beers came to around £35 per head for a couple of courses as well. Pretty little pub with outside seating if the time and weather are right. Defiantly worth a visit.

The Masons Arms just happened to be the closest pub to where we were watching the Fairford Airshow so we drove over. A very pleasant spot on a classic Cotwolds village green. The Guinness was good and the Halloumi Salad truly excellent. It was exactly what I needed. The staff extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to help. Even the chef was smiling, and that is a very good sign. Beer selection was a little limited but if I'm passing through again I'll certainly pop in and recommend it to all.

I spent a couple of hours looking for a cosy pub close to Cirencester which was dog-friendly. Fortunately, I found the Mason's Arms. We received a lovely welcome on arrival and a friendly farewell when we checked out.The pub has been refurbished to high standards, including the bedrooms. Ours was impeccably clean, as well as warm and cosy. It was small, but we didn't mind as it had everything that we needed. Parking was good and there were places where we could safely walk our dog. I was particularly impressed with the menu in the restaurant. As a vegetarian, I am usually faced with uninspired dishes, but not here. Breakfast was also very good and the ingredients of a high standard. The chef clearly takes great pride in producing food which is memorable. Vi var en gjeng på 10 personer som bodde her en helg. Den rolige og hyggelige atmosfæren, den gode servicen og maten, de nydelige detaljene på rommene og i fellesområdene bidro til at vi fikk en fantastisk helg i Meysey Hampton. Vi vil reise tilbake så snart det er mulig.Vi spiste gode frokoster og hadde en middag hvor mange flere venner var sammen med oss.Alt det fantastiske av bygninger, hager, møller, gårder med mer som var rett i nærheten gjorde opplevelsen enda bedre. Besøk i Fairford og Cirencester likeså.

The staff and service at this pub is brilliant. Great welcome and a comfortable room made this a very enjoyable stay. Evening meal and the breakfast are of the highest order. Highly recommended.
