Went for a big cycle from Malvern with my Dad for his birthday, and he mentioned a lovely pub we should check out in the area. Unfortunately, he neglected to check if it was open! There was about 40 mins until it opened so we stood outside deliberating where to go next. Despite this, Simon, like some sort of ale angel, came out and offered to serve us a couple of much needed pints and some complimentary nibbles outside. Thanks to Simon and the other staff for being so generous and welcoming and making our day!

Very much for the locals, looks like the same people go in there regularly so really geared towards them. Not very welcoming when everyone stops chatting and looks when you walk in. Furnishings need updating, looking tired and tatty. Barmaid/owner was very full of herself and rude, more interested in flirting with the regulars. Much more welcoming pubs serving food in the area so give it a miss

One of the highlights of our rainy Christmas / New Year visit to lovely Wadborough was the Mason’s Arms. We were welcomed by the couple running this heart-of-the-village pub as if we were long-standing locals, and the local people we met in the bar were, to a person, similarly welcoming. The two local beers on hand pump were superb. We didn’t get a chance to try the food but it looked delicious. As another reviewer has commented, this pub cannot be recommended highly enough - it’s the very essence of the English village pub. We’ll be back in the summer for sure.

Seven of us ladies went for our Christmas get together. We had booked. The place was cold (we had to keep our coats on) and uninviting. No atmosphere at all and very little in the way of Christmas decorations. We were given a menu - no Turkey or Christmas fare at all. Most of the group ordered a chicken dish as that was about the only item available. The waiter told us that the meat order had not arrived and that we couldn't have the steak most of us would have liked. When the food came it was sparse to say the least. I don't consider 3 sprouts and a swirl of parsnip puree to be sufficient in the way of vegetables. All in all a disaster - never again!

I have visited The Masons numerous times since moving to the area several months ago. Often, I go with my husband and sometimes, with friends. The barman/manager has made us very welcome and goes to a lot of effort to make guests welcome. He has a great rapport with all of his guests from what I have witnessed. On New Years Eve we had a blast as he and his colleagues went the extra mile to give a very happy crowd a fabulous evening. I’ve eaten here too with family and friends- some who are quite fussy but we’ve all come to the same conclusion ... food here is consistently delicious and good value. Good beer, Guinness (according to hubby) and I can vouch for the merlot and spirits! The Masons has made our move to the area a particularly pleasant one.

My wife and i popped to the pub for a couple of drinks which we sometimes do. Over the past few years there has been a few different faces behind the bar some good bad etc . Friday night there was a young man serving who was foreign . As a bar man you should listen and interact with the customers this young man was loud and foul mouthed. The group of men at the bar were trying to explain about legislation in this country .Clearly he has an issue with English people as he became very aggressive with his responses . It is normally very enjoyable in The Masons and everybody can interact and have a good discussion the locals who sit at the bar always include you in conversation and say hello and goodbye. My wife was very uncomfortable with the way the evening was going and decided to leave . At this point of leaving the bar man then starts saying that he is going to get his gloves and beat everyone up. Walking home were quite upset by the comments and we doubt we will return again .

Like a carvery but served to your table. 4 meats offered and you could choose more than one. Given a choice of around 7 different vegetables and asked if any we didn't want then another four also brought to the table! Huge portions of everything, a shame that so much would be wasted, and no room for pudding. A special mention for the roast potatoes which were the best I've ever had out, as good as my husband's home made! Being picky, everything was a bit chunky in size, like the cabbage and carrots. We both had the steak ale and mushroom pie, with chips, peas and carrots. It was all very hot and the pie was exceptional, with lots of large pieces of tender meat and mushrooms with tasty gravy. Great pub , Attend for Sunday lunch and overall as impressed The food was good , not going to sit here and say it was the best Sunday lunch I have ever had , however for portion size and value for Money you can’t complain at all , The service was fantastic and all the staff were helpful and nice. They accept dogs which is great. It was warm and cosy and a nice place to sit and eat , would say you need to book as it was not the biggest of venues so imagine they fill up easily. Good selection of Beer and real Ales which were pleasant to drink. My biggest criticism is they only have one High chair available and during our visit there was probably 3-4 children that could have done with high chairs. Don’t expect them to have 100s hundreds of high chairs available but I would have thought at least two but maybe I’m wrong. Overall great experience amazing value and a nice place to be . Service was friendly and warm - even though as the only person working, she had a lot on her plate! With drinks - it cost £16 per person. The main menu was also good value. A couple of us would have preferred to see a couple of salad option on the menu so that’s what would have made it 5* However absolutely worth a visit.
