Very atmospheric pub with stunnin architecture and good service. Yannick and Rory were fabulous. The starters are honestly the only thing I can recommend here though. The calamari and camembert were delicious but chicken and mushroom pie was extremely bland and the drinks (at least Long Island ice tea and wine) were unimpressive. If you go stick to the starters and what’s on tap!

Chelsea is the GOAT. Ya Nick is also cool. Great pub though

Lovely old pub, nice selection of beers

I am a long time customer of this pub, it used to have a separate dining room upstairs and food was always great. The food quality did not disappoint this time, the value for money is pretty good and portions generous. Its a nice historic pub, was not too busy on a Friday night. Still quite noisy as they are. I booked the dining expecting the dining room with service being open, but that was not the case on the day, so we sat in the downstairs pub area and had to order the food at the bar. When we arrived about 5 minutes after the booked time, our table was not ready, with drinks and food still on it from the previous customers. The pub was not so busy, so the team could have prepared the table. Also we were given 2 round tables for a party of 6 which made the dinner seating awkward. There was a rectangular table available but someone else was sitting there having drinks. Since I have made an advance booking, i expected a more appropriate table being reserved for us.

Warning: California/Oregon Native here so this review will have a west coast American bias. We came to this pub for lunch on our stopover in London. I’m a big Fish & Chips fan so that’s what I wanted when we got back into the UK. The guys at the bar were really cool and made some good beer recommendations as I hadn’t had a lot of English beers before. I ordered up the Nicholsons Fish & Chips and my wife decided to try one of the famous pies. I’m almost positive she picked the Hand-Pulled Lamb Shank Shepherd’s Pie…but I was quite jet lagged and I don’t remember for sure. Either way, it was good for the 1-2 bites I had. It was very rich and filling though so she didn’t finish the pastry part. I was very happy with my Fish & Chips. The fish was super crispy and perfectly battered. The fries were some of the better cooked ones I had while I was in London so I was happy about that. Had a good crisp and just had more flavor than others. All in all, a nice fun little pub that was within walking distance of our hotel (The Westminster). Good food that came out pretty quickly and friendly staff. It was a little odd drinking room temperature beer, but it was still tasty and it was so cold outside it didn't bother me much. I’d definitely eat here again if/when I’m in London again.

I like this oldie , very typical British Pub. Emma greeted us with a very cheerful smile and was very receptive and interactive to my banter. I translated this to a WARM welcome. Rory was great serving the food. All 3 plates of delicious traditional fish & chips is just what we wanted. The food was gobbled up in time.. it was delicious. Highly recommended. Thanks to Emma and Rory for great welcome and great food.

Nice little pub. Very quiet when we went on Saturday lunchtime. Service was quick. Pint of London Pride was nice; nachos were terrible: stale chips, all the toppings were out of a jar, added beef was expensive, sparse and gristly. Maybe some of the other food is better but I don’t recommend these

Takes our order and tells us 40 minutes later that we didn't take the order. Not professional contrary to popular belief. Hire competent staff.

Finally, an actual brittish pub with a unique menu. (most pubs in London all share the same menu). Great options of different type of pies. And they were amazing too! Plenty of beers to choose from. Also not too crowded.

The MoG is my regular Nicholsons pub for nearly 25 years now. Got served by Rory today. Excellent, polite, efficient, attention to detail and can do attitude. He even informed me of a new £10.50 sandwich and a lunch deal, which I hadnt noticed before. Well done Rory. As the Fish Finger sandwich is one of my regular favourites. I ordered this. Sadly, it was not the sandwich I normally receive. Instead, it was just a bun with just 2 very small bits of batterred fish. Wont be having that again.

Great old school British pub with a good selection of beverages and a well staffed bar. Service by Ali was quick and pleasant, more so pints were poured to an expected level which isn't always the case in London.

While staying at the Westminster Curio, we passed this pub and decided to have dinner here, the ribs and brisket pie was delicious! My husband had the burger and my son had fish and chips, also good. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Si el Propietario no aborda la falta de formación y profesionalidad de la dirección creo que perderá mucho negocio. Es una pena porque el pub en sí tiene potencial, pero el personal lo hizo una experiencia completamente desagradable.

Don't usually come out to Westminster but had such a lovely time at The Marquis in the nice area. Had great service and chat with the staff, specifically Alba who was lovely to talk to. Great job!

Great pub worth visiting that is just a short walk from main attractions like Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and more. Great service and classically maintained.

Very good Nicholson's pub about five minutes walk from the north side of Lambeth Bridge. Seven cask beers on handpump when I visited. A couple of tables outside along with lots of standing room on the street, some of it covered. An historic pub rebuilt in 1933/4, frequented by politicians, civil servants, media folk and concert goers from nearby St John’s, Smith Square. The Marquis of Granby was a soldier, rising to become Commander-in-Chief in 1766; a board outside the pub gives his history.

Great pub, really enjoyed the fish and chips. Decor was really homely. Served by Rory who was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Another dropin pint, Fullers Lo don Pride very lively and inecperienced bar person put 1/2 inch head on it. Menu looked really good but like the beer, not cheap.

Went to this establishment on a Monday evening and had an absolutely great time with the family. Daniel, Emma, Yannick, and Naomi were fabulous and we highly recommend if you are looking for a drink and some food! 10/10.

It's London, stand any which way and you've got at least four pubs all in arms length, but we somehow found ourselves in this one. Had a couple of beers, split the steak and ale pie as well as the fish and chips, all of which hit the spot. Staff was friendly, bar was clean, and within easy walking distance to all the downtown historical sites making this an easy lunch spot.

We are doing the tourist thing, coming from San Antonio TX. Your staff has treated us great. Good food and service. We took a friend I haven't seen in 40 years here. The staff took care of us and made the most of our reunion.
