While staying at the Westminster Curio, we passed this pub and decided to have dinner here, the ribs and brisket pie was delicious! My husband had the burger and my son had fish and chips, also good. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Don't usually come out to Westminster but had such a lovely time at The Marquis in the nice area. Had great service and chat with the staff, specifically Alba who was lovely to talk to. Great job!

Very good Nicholson's pub about five minutes walk from the north side of Lambeth Bridge. Seven cask beers on handpump when I visited. A couple of tables outside along with lots of standing room on the street, some of it covered. An historic pub rebuilt in 1933/4, frequented by politicians, civil servants, media folk and concert goers from nearby St John’s, Smith Square. The Marquis of Granby was a soldier, rising to become Commander-in-Chief in 1766; a board outside the pub gives his history.

Another dropin pint, Fullers Lo don Pride very lively and inecperienced bar person put 1/2 inch head on it. Menu looked really good but like the beer, not cheap.

Had the best time here at the marquis. The staff here especially Jessica was very polite and gave me a warm welcome. The food was delicious!! Would definitely come back again.

Went to this establishment on a Monday evening and had an absolutely great time with the family. Daniel, Emma, Yannick, and Naomi were fabulous and we highly recommend if you are looking for a drink and some food! 10/10.

We are doing the tourist thing, coming from San Antonio TX. Your staff has treated us great. Good food and service. We took a friend I haven't seen in 40 years here. The staff took care of us and made the most of our reunion.

It's London, stand any which way and you've got at least four pubs all in arms length, but we somehow found ourselves in this one. Had a couple of beers, split the steak and ale pie as well as the fish and chips, all of which hit the spot. Staff was friendly, bar was clean, and within easy walking distance to all the downtown historical sites making this an easy lunch spot.

Best thing about this pub is its location (ie near the Houses of Parliament). Otherwise little to recommend it: surly service and not much character inside.

A group of 4 visited, we bought 4 drinks Madri was off and flat, also adnams gostship this was off and sour, the toilets were absolutely disgusting the smell was awful it seemed it had not been cleaned for weeks. Shocking would never vist again

Tucked away in a side street, the Marquis is a pub for those in the Westminster know. And it's all the better for that. I don't mean it's devoid of politicos, indeed we were a group of politicos who descended on the place for my most recent visit. And I don't mean that it's wholly without the odd tourist popping in. They get everywhere in Westminster, but they don't overwhelm the Marquis. No, it's a solid, truly urban, pub, dark-wooded, enclosed feeling, discreet but not secretive. And, of course, the pub grub is reliable and unfussy, the real ales, the ciders and the lagers, plus the wines and spirits are well-judged and well-served. Anything to add? Don't tell too many friends about the place, I like it like it is!

A great little pub with a great selection of beer. The food is good too with a big main menu selection alongside their excellent pie menu. Can get crowded in the evenings like every pub but you won't wait long to be served. A good honest proper pub which is a rare thing in London now! Updated June 24

The food is disappointing & the steak is not worth the £27 price tag. The loos need to be completely refurbished as they are very smelly and very much like public loos on streets that haven't been attended to for decades. It's a pity the upstairs restaurant isn't open any more, except for large parties as that was one of the highlights of this pub. However, even if the restaurant were to be open, I wouldn't want to come back, given the food quality and the state of the loos. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for the deficiencies. It's a shame, as this was once a very good place to eat a few years ago.

Decent beer. Priced at typical London rates. Hard to get a seat inside. Hardly any seating outside. Plenty of people stood around with a pint. Service was brisk and friendly.

What a pleasant little pub. Asked these two to take a picture of us and they asked us to take one of them. Great atmosphere and good selection of beer on tap….A little humid inside but found a couple of chairs outside to enjoy the London noon breeze.

Stumbled on the best pies on earth. Just the best. Yannick was our server and he was better than the pies. Great personality and smiling cheerfully throughout the evening. Made us Americans feel right at home.

I don't come to the Marquis of Granby often but I have been dropping in whilst working locally for 20 years. Where is has changed it has changed for the better and the current selection of beer and bar snacks is very good.

Yannick is an absolute legend, best bartender I’ve had in my entire life. Place to be any day of the week!

Stopped in for a bite and a pint on the way back to our hotel and they had a beef pie and beer deal, both absolutely hit the spot. Sorry forgot to get a picture of the pie, I was to hungry.

A lively pub on a quiet road. Haf a lovely warm local feel to it. More adult friendly than family friendly. Be sure to book ahead as you'll struggle to find a seat, especially at peak times after 5

It doesn't need many words Service very unfriendly, no hello, forgets the order from one minute to the next - prefers to play on the cell phone. Men's toilet 🚽 is similar to a train station toilet Food looks good but has no taste. It's a shame that the place looks very impressive.

A pub that proves dark wood panelling hasn't been totally monopolised by Sam Smiths. Not yet any way... Also important to point out the good beer selection and how it always seems to have a healthy number of punters inside and out. I'll happily repeat my custom here in the future.

Food and drinks when you need it.

We had a really good afternoon tea and the service was top notch.

Shuts at 7 at a weekend. Fine but taking chairs from people sitting outside at 6:15 is not good customer service. Especially, with a curt attitude. Unimpressed... Answering the owner's response: Thank you for reaching out. Your 30+ male colleague acted as if the supervisor. He claimed he had told us about the chairs 45 mins before closing policy but even at the bar we had already sensed he was going to find politeness challenging. Thankfully, we experienced friendly and grateful service just over the river to recover the joy of our London trip.

Food and service was excellent !!

Unfortunately had a bad customer experience having bought our drinks, sat outside and curtly told to get up because they needed to put the table and chairs away even though we hadn’t finished (apparently he had said before but we didn’t know) bearing in mind it was 6:15 and online it’s says it closes at 7pm. We’d bought our drinks at about 10 to 6. Totally unnecessary attitude

Get to this spot!! Visiting for a week from the US and this was my favorite of the many, many pubs I visited. Huge shoutout to Yannick (not certain on spelling, no disrespect intended if I’m incorrect). He was a delight in welcoming us and making us feel at home even though we were 5,000 miles away from home. The entire staff was super friendly and helpful, and the beer selection was great. Didn’t have any food, but the deals on the bar snacks looked awesome. The vibe is also terrific. Good music on, but not so loud you can’t talk to the person next to you. If you’re in the area drop in for a pint or five for sure. We definitely will next time we make the jump across the pond.

First time staying in this part of London and finding the Marquis. Beautiful building and rooms. Your staff is wonderful; friendly, accommodating, and excellent customer service. While not applying to us, very courteous that they asked about food allergies when taking our order. Your kitchen staff is also excellent - the food was delicious (the lamb shank bone in the pie is brilliant and the carrots were really great). Also, shout out for the strong wifi; I decided to catch up on my work here with my laptop and a few pints instead of a stuffy hotel room. My only regret is not finding you until our last day here.

Loved the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. Pub culture is very different than what we're used to but the staff was very welcoming and we adapted quickly to the environment. I had a meat pie, UNBELIEVABLE! Wife had the fish and chips and enjoyed it very much. Did I mention the meat pie?!? Again, staff was phenomenal and we really enjoyed the experience. Thank you

Booked for 12 for lunch. Sent the food choices via email. Had to phone to delay arrival by 15-30 minutes and change a couple of choices. Staff friendly and helpful. Food good. Let us all pay for our own food even though on one bill. Would book again
