We had a week here and enjoyed every minute of it except the food over the week end they were short staffed and one of the little young girls done the desert and it didn't set but was still presented to us to eat.we all sent it back to the kitchen. But on the whole we enjoyed or stay.

Just returned from a coach trip with buckleys to this hotel and was disappointed. hotel was very dated , furniture falling apart t carpets worn, rusty shelves ect in bathroom. Shower was so slow it wasn't usable! Window was a pain to shut ect. Food! Well out of six days one evening .meal was ustOK!? Breakfast not bad service was not very well organised food was often cold and bland. Staff were mainly very nice especially Jason the bar .man and Brian. Not forgetting Jen the house keeper Such a shame. deffinately would not recommend 😒 very dissatisfied customer.

We stayed in this hotel on a buckleys coach trip. Our trip was great and the driver absolutely fab (Callum) location also great but despite its location we found the hotel quite dated, very old fashioned in the way we were given food and a very dated menu. Not much choice. The soup for starter was mushroom and I like many don’t eat mushrooms and when I asked if there was an alternative I was given a stern ‘no’! Having said that the meal was ok and perfectly acceptable. However our room was clean and nice white bedding etc and we did have a nice stay but it would put me off staying again as we have been in many hotels much nicer with much better food!

Stayed from Friday through to Monday and had a wonderful time. I was in a large group of 40+ and half had medical issues, especially mobility. Jean and her staff were amazing. They transported all the bags to the rooms, ensured we were all settled in and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast and evening meals were served quickly, with a laugh and a smile and tasted lovely. There was entertainment each night - solo singers and all 3 were excellent. The lady on the last night asked for requests and sang everything we threw at her from Rhinestone Cowboy to Eidelweiss!! Overall it was a brilliant weekend and I would happily stay there again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

what a disapointment as my friend had recomended it and said the food was lovely .We were 3 friends travelling together on a coach holiday the trip and people taking us were superb .Food we had at every meal was luke warm or cold porridge came out with a skin on, it had been left out in the kithen soup was the same ,we were left till last to be served at every meal we asked why and the waitress said because we start at bottom of the dining room ,i have never come across that before .We complained several times about the food being cold so the staff had a real attitude to us with one waiter in particular called Paul being extremly rude, throwing dishes down and speaking to us in a very rude manner as he walked away , in the end we got so fed up of sending cold food back that we just left it we didn,t have cooked breakfasts we had ceareal s prunes and toast etc every morning and we were still last in the dining room .The vegatables at the evening meal were all frozen except one night we had fresh carrots ,a few on the coach said that they would not go there again we certainly wouldn,t it was a total waste of money .

Although we have not stayed at Marlborough, we visited socially in the evening to sample their entertainment. My wife and I are both young 71& 72 years old but we both appeared to be the youngest people in the room. We helped supplement the bar takings that night, unlike most of the other guests who left the concert room at 9.30pm when the one game of bingo ended. It was an experience I’ll not forget soon.

If you want a really good but reasonable priced 3 course meal this is the place to try. Good old fashioned service ie. white tablecloths, napkins and waitress or waiter service. We had a great meal at a very reasobale price.... fresh veg etc and lovely puddings. This hotel is near the sea front too.

We were visiting Llandudno with friends and came accross this hotel advertising 2 courses for £9.95 so we weren't expecting a lot but thought we'd give it a try .First impressions were good hotel reception and bar area looked very clean and tidy ,we were greeted by a gentleman who was very friendly and asked to wait while they set up a table for us all seemed good , after 10 mins or so we were shown to our table , were we waited for 15-20 mins for someone to take our order which was surprising as there was only 3 other people dining so it wasn't at all busy , we eventually got our starters ,a couple of us had soup which was tasty enough but mine was luke warm , the main course was worse I had pork loin with frozen carrots and peas which was the worst Sunday lunch I've ever had ! I'll let my friends write their own reviews although I know one of them sent her dinner back , all in all a very disappointing experience even though we weren't expecting a lot , a previous review sums the Marlborough up quite well , not far off FAULTY TOWERS !

Whilst on a break last weekend, myself and my sister went to The Marlborough for Sunday lunch, I wish we hadn't. We chose the Pea & Ham soup as a starter - that wasn't bad. We had the beef lunch - very tough beef, tasteless cabbage & carrots, the potato wasn't much better, and potato croquettes! I don't know what they were doing on the plate - maybe in place of roast potato? The best thing was the yorkshire pudding which I suspect wasn't cooked there. For dessert my sister had roulade which was fine, I asked for Black Forest Gateau, I had something that looked like it but when I tried it it was Orange Gateau - quite nice but not what I ordered. When i pointed this out to the man who brought the bill, he said 'Oh yes! chef said there's no BFG left, but this is similar!' Why wasn't I asked for a second choice? We are not used to eating in restaurants so it was difficult to make a complaint at the time. The lady who took our order was pleasant, as was the man who brought our wine. Also, I like Cliff Richard but having his Christmas albums played continuously in October was somewhat grating.

We were looking for somewhere that offered a healthy cooked menu so decided to try this hotel for lunch and were glad we did. The restaurant is spotlessly clean and the tables by the window offer a great view of The Orme and pier. The set menu offers a good choice. We chose the prawn cocktail to start, and it was lovely with a generous serving of prawns. For my second course I opted for the haddock in a lobster bisque sauce - delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection. My partner chose the chicken that he enjoyed. The meal came with a large serving of vegetables in a serving dish. Potatoes, carrots and sprouts. While sprouts would not have been my choice to eat with fish, we did eat them all basically because we are big fans of vegetables. We didn't manage to eat all the potatoes. We shall return for lunch the next time we are in Llandudno and at £9.95 for two courses it's great value. Would recommend, especially if you are looking for somewhere to eat that offers something different to the pasta, pizza and burgers that are on offer in so many of the main street restaurants.

We stopped here a few years ago for Sunday lunch so why not go again we thought. The barman was a very grumpy chap ordering everyone out of the bar area, although a few had been sent in to wait, tables were set very nice and smart and food was ordered via a very nice Asian girl, hats of to her, she was fine. The chap brought the food and had us re arrange the table as he had no room to place the food. Now the food itself, Lamb, not too bad, Carrots overcooked, Sprouts, these must have been stewing in a vat for a few hours as they had turned to mush, mash potato, this we thought was a joke or something, was it mashed with a piece of large gauge chicken wire or something, it had the most amazingly large bits of potato in and a crust on top as if ithad been under a heat lamp for 30 minutes. Reminded me very much of school dinners.

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. From the minute we arrived we were treated like friends. Nothing was too much trouble. Our afternoon tea was delicious and plenty of choice from egg mayo, ham & tomato, turkey with cranberry & beef with onion sandwiches, variety of cakes and the scones where amazing. 30 plus people all seated with tea and coffee, then the staff served us our afternoon tea. Service was outstanding - so attentive and the chef even gave us extra scones to take home. Due to his condition my husband needs constant attention and care and often is ignored but not at The Marlborough he is treated exactly like everyone else this is wonderful for his self esteem not a case of "does he take sugar" his opinion is sought. The food is excellent, varied, plentiful and served on hot plates (bliss) the beds spotlessly clean and so so comfortabkecomfortable A huge thanks to everyone involved, we feel so refreshed. the ethos of the hotel is to be commended we return in February that's unless you get a cancellation for Christmas weare on the waiting list.

Sunday lunch was advertised on the board outside the hotel as two courses for £8.95 which appealed to us because there was an excellent choice of dishes. We had a soup starter and followed with an excellent main course which was served with style and there was more than enough for me and my wife. We had ordered drinks which were reasonably priced. When we saw what was on the desserts menu I decided that I would have Bread and Butter pudding no matter what as this was one of my all time favourite puddings. I was not disappointed, it was delicious, my wife had a trifle which had sponge, fruit, jelly, custard and cream, which is a proper trifle. The total cost was around £25 which for a hotel dining room is more than fair and would warrant a return visit as the service and the quality was very good. There is a good view from the dining room of the Great Orme and along the pier.

I am gluten-free but arrived after the jacket potatoes had all been sold… Little chef Mo was a hero and cooked some chips which are gluten-free in a separate pan for me especially! The rest of the family had Panini‘s, a pizza and ham, egg and chips and all loved it. If you’ve been here sometime ago, then you’ll be glad to hear that it’s had a revamp and it looks really clean and tidy now and very smart well worth a visit.

We arrived at 6.00pm for a Sunday roast and the restaurant was very quiet so we decided to sit in the bar. It took a while to get someone to take the order and we informed the server that my wife was gluten free and that was not a problem. The roast dinner arrived and we looked at the roast potatoes which were well over cooked and tasted like they had been in the oven or under a hot lamp for far to long, the Yorkshire pudding was also dry and crusty. The dinner at best was Luke warm and my wife sent hers back to be heated up in a microwave. For the price of £17.95 it should of all been fresh and hot. We had been traveling most of the day so we were hungry and ate most of the dinner but we were very disappointed. The bar prices were also high £5.80 for a pint of cider. We have eaten here in the past and always found the food very good but will not be visiting again.
