It's a pleasant pub during the week but Friday evenings there are too many children and pushchairs it doesn't feel like a pub more of a crèche serving beer

Great pub in the centre of town, really good sized garden, that has two bat & trap pitches. If you haven't played this Kent based pub game, then give it a try, it is a great group activity and a lot of fun !

hard to review this pub as i was refused entry by security at the door on orders of the landlord, seems that it was at capacity due to the local hop festival, i will try again. never been thrown out of a pub before going in before.

Went here today. As part of the hop festival. Was turned away at the door, because I had an assistance dog. Doesn't say anywhere that you're not allowed dogs. No signs. Nothing! He is an assistance dog for my partner who has severe autism, and ADHD. Yet, because new owner. Dogs not allowed. Madness, considering they have a massive back yard. Definitely avoid if you're a dog owner, and/or lover. Will definitely not be going back. Was suppose to be the best place to frequent during hop festival. Obviously the worst. 1 star is too much. Shame I can't 0 star.

This summer, I've walked the Kent and East Sussex coast so have been to a fair number of boozers. Hands down, one of the best pints I found in Kent. As a northerner, I'm really fussy about my beer but this place was great! Awesome prices too and lovely friendly barmaid who's worked there 14 years (says a lot about a place) ! Met some very friendly locals in here too. Loved this pub, it's brilliant and would love to return for one of the music nights.

I've been coming here for over 11 years, and it's a pub...a proper community-driven old style pub, awesome landlords, with a great music stage and huge beer garden. During the Faversham Hop Festival this place has one of the best stages and best acts in town and is hugely popular!

Dropped by on the off chance and thoroughly enjoyed a Friday night here. The locals are very friendly and the pub usually has live music which brings in quite a crowd. Large beer garden at the rear and covered area with plenty of tables and seating. This area does double as a smoking zone and there were quite a few smokers there on Friday night.

Hop festival weekend 🤪 Ok I'm fully aware on how difficult this event is to manage and keep the hundreds who pass through your door happy. Entered through the front ( Saturday 3rd 2022 ) around late afternoon. Main bar impossibly too busy to navigate for a drink, that's fine as I'm local to the pub I know there's a bar at the rear. 45 minutes later I eventually got my TWO pints I'm not going up again to wait!!! Now this is not a moan or trying to diminish the efforts that ALL the staff at the garden bar were clearly putting in. A better system is required. A free for all at the bar just doesn't work and just causes unnecessary conflict between punters and your staff. You may a have to sacrifice a bigger amount of garden area to make buying drinks a better experience for everyone.. I understand that you outlay a huge amount of money for staff, bands and security. All I'm saying is look into solutions to a clear a problem that clearly could be handled better. Still got 5⭐️ as the pub is always brilliant around hop festival weekend, and the choice of bands are fantastic. The Moles are my particular favourite. Big Orange Head would be a very good addition next year 👌🏻 👏🏻 👍🏻

I have to say that pubs that have a tradition and a genuine love for live music are few and far between these days but as soon as you walk in and see the stage area you know that this is one of them if not one of the finest. Local people or those familiar with the Hop Festival will know what I'm talking about, it's a large pub with a large outdoor area and is a must visit location during the festival. It's a delight to play in or watch a band, friendly staff and a good selection of drinks, what's not to like?

Went to the Market Inn in Shepherd Neame Faversham to see a band! Rang in the morning to confirm the details and was given a wrong start time and directions from the station by a clueless member of staff! Arrived at about nine thirty and had already missed the first session - bought a pint and a half for nearly eight quid and found the venue to be half full of gobby middle aged women who should know better! Doubt if I'll be back there! Richard Wood.

We'll definitely be returning to hear more great live music, highly recommended!

Management are awful. Shouted at us in front of our kids(6 6 2.) For running about a large empty beer garden. Oh, and they touched a chair that "he now had to wash". If they don't like children in their pub then they should of said so before taking our money. Bit odd. Needless to say, will never enter possibly the worst run pub in kent. How rude.

We was invited to Market Inn today to see my Friends White Pepper set play and celebrate Tony's birthday We walked through Faversham hop and beer fest and bought some Cider to take home On arrival at just after midday there was a very jobsworth doorwoman who wanted to search our bag and made it clear we could not come in with said Cider Claiming that's it's against pub licence laws to bring your own drink/ alcohol in Which is rubbish law is you are not allowed to drink your own drink/ alcohol on pub premises I explained we weren't going to drink it as we are sensible people ( over 60 not young lager louts ) Then asked if there was anywhere we could safely leave it To be told leave it outside or dump it We were very upset to miss our friends playing and help celebrate a birthday We had intended to stay there for the duration and buy drinks and food So went back to festival and Spent our money there Phoenix tavern Railway and Sun hotel were more than happy for our business and to listen to music at there venues whilst our cider stayed in our bag This has made us feel we will not use Market Inn again Other friends have told us they had exactly the same trouble.
