Good location right in the seafront, paying the premium for it though at £7 a pint 😳

Excellent barman on a busyish afternoon. Great place to sit outside on a sunny day.

On the promenade with a spacious terrace to take in the view, sun and people watch. A very attractive venue with a good choice of kegs, a couple of real ales and a wide range of wines beyond that normally offered by a pub. Super efficient counter service. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

A fabulous place to go. Wonderful location with a great, friendly atmosphere. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced for such good quality. A varied selection of wines and other drinks. We will definitely be returning. Thanks to all the staff for such an enjoyable experience.

As a bar a bit pricey as a double g&t and a pint cost £18.50 ish. Had to sit outside as no room inside. Didn't eat.

Food perfect as usual....dog friendly...recommend lasagna or thai curry...both amazing. Pleasant efficient staff. Always visit when I'm Sidmouth.

Lovely setting right opposite the front on a lovely sunny lunchtime. Quite quiet everyone chilling out. Fish menu sounded great, though we didn't stop.

Booked in for evening meal, great pizzas as always, mens toilets greatly improved but seating needs attention with rips an back seats. One of my favorite beers Oakham IPA on sale but it was served warm :(, usually they are very good. Busy place and would recommend just keep on investing and improving.

Visited twice in our week long stay. Food was excellent on both occasions, friendly helpful staff and made a real fuss of our Dog Elvis. Will definitely pay another visit when back down this way.

A lively pub-cum-restaurant on the seafront in the genteel Devon resort. Service was prompt and friendly and the plates were massive. My large gammon and pineapple almost defeated me (unheard of!) Reasonable prices in what is an expensive town. Would return when next down this way.

Lovely relaxed lunch with good, prompt service despite Sidmouth being incredibly busy with the vintage car rally, we’ll be back in a couple of weeks.

Not disability friendly. Tried to book a table for dinner accessible to my mother who was in a wheelchair. Told that the only table available was ‘down those stairs’ and because ‘someone else booked the other tables first’ they couldn’t be swapped around. I would understand if someone has booked a specific table but did 20 parties book specific tables? I think not. Disappointing.

Much bigger than it looks. Beer and food were both excellent. Younger clientele than most in Sidmouth but to be honest most people would fit in here. Will go again.

Such a lovely little restaurant on the beach of Sidmouth, me and my partner were wanting an all day breakfast but we couldn’t find anywhere serving past the time of 11.30 am. So this was a great find. We were greeted with perfect customer service. The breakfast was superb and nothing was too much. Lovely little find. Keep going guys

If you order a pizza you’ll be fine, however, I ordered the butternut squash red Thai curry with wild rice and naan and it was terrible so I couldn’t eat it. Firstly the rice was microwave basmati and not wild rice. Secondly the naan was sadly straight out of a supermarket packet. Thirdly the curry was most definitely not red Thai. It was closer to an Indian bhuna with large lumps of pak choi stalk and so many star anise you could break a tooth. Acidic in taste and quite unpleasant to eat so I didn’t.

Very inexpensive and great location on the seafront, but the food was disappointing. The lamb burgers were incredibly dry, and the fish and chips appeared to have been incinerated. The service was good, though.

We booked here having seen the reviews as we were visiting east Devon celebrating our daughter’s 18th birthday weekend.We were given a table in a lovely spot and my daughter was greeted with a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the Thai green curry and Hake specials were delicious! We will definitely return on our next visit to Sidmouth!

Excellent service and lovely food. Very good portions too, which is more than I can say for muck of the local companion. Competitively priced and highly recommended!

Overall our meal was very good. It was clear that it was a busy evening for the staff, service was slow. There were couples around us who complained about the food so it did leave a bit of an atmosphere. I think maybe they need to put more staff on the weekend days. However, we would go again as our experience was okay.

Great esplanade location with a wide selection of local beers on tap at reasonable prices. Plenty of wines and spirits also available. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of outside seating when weather permits. Free WiFi is available as is on street parking.

Staff friendly, drinks were forgotten, pizza base was stodgy and chunky chips really greasy. Mentioned this when paying and without asking the chips were taken off the bill.

I wanted a casual meal. When I booked and saw pizzas and burgers on the menu I didn't have high expectations. However the food and experience was so much better than I expected. The craft beer (mango pale ale) was great and it was one of the best meals I've had out for a while. Definitely high quality. The crab croquettes starter was amazing. Could have even it again and again. The pork belly didn't disappoint - the jus was very tasty and as I'd swapped the mash for chunky chips I could go back to my northern roots and mop it all up. The portions were big and staff efficient/friendly. Glad I booked and would definitely recommend here. Maybe even try a burger or pizza next time...

Ok, so these guys are busy and you can see why. Oddly, there aren't that many places in Sidmouth that are open late and serve food. Most things close early evening which is a bit odd in high season. The Marine is a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and it is right by the seafront. Advice would be to book ahead and to not go for the standard stuff like pizza or burgers but try the specials. We had the sole filet and it was delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and the fish so fresh and tasty. Despite being really busy, service was excellent, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. They also have a fantastic selection of wines as well as beer and ciders. Overall wonderful place.

A great welcome when I arrived, makes you feel so much better. Usual tap beers and a couple of real ales and craft beers available. Craft beers on the expensive side at £7 per pint. Staff were warm and welcoming. Descent sized room with wooden floors throughout. Descently decorated with a few choice pictures on the walls. Dog friendly in the daytime, unsure about the evening. Small patio area at the front where you can enjoy a beer and the weather looking out to sea. Great beer, well worth a visit. Enjoyed my visit immensely.

We enjoyed everything about this place and went back the following evening which was equally as good. The pork belly was perfect, very good polite service, and a really nice atmosphere. We had two main meals and bottles of sparkling water and the price was £41. The second evening we had one starter, two main meals, one desert, coffee, two beers and two waters for £72.

They fit us in on a busy night at the last minute.

Managed to squeeze us in, even though we hadn't booked. The service was fantastic. The garlic ciabatta and the belly pork were both first class, but unfortunately there was barely any mushroom to be seen on the mushroom pizza.

Good basic food at the Marine, nice service and vibrant atmosphere. Pizza is good, perhaps too cheesy for me but it has a good base.

Service was prompt and accommodating. Good portions and good tasting food. Would come back again.

Spill a drink here on accident? Buy a new one. Rude acting management, no apology or consideration for the customer. After a 13hr flight I was tired and spilt a drink over myself and the table. I would've felt better about the situation had the acting management not addressed me so harshly when I'd asked if I could get a replacement. I had to clean the table up myself and won't be returning here. Please treat customers better. This is not the friendly Sidmouth restaurant I'd come to know.

This is a lovely seafront pub / diner, Brody was a great help today he and the young lady serving were doing a great job looking after all the customers... Both these guys were doing a fantastic job and the place was looking great. The Marine is very popular with the guests, the staff here are friendly and very welcoming, the pub serves food with tables overlooking the sea and only a short walk from the shopping area. 😎

Service and food were excellent, but the drinks menu prices differed from the actual increased prices we were charged at the till!

We visited for brunch, which they are trailing over the Easter weekend. The venue is fresh and is laid out with lots of great details. One of the owners took our order friendly and welcoming chap. We had a full English breakfast, and the food was all freshly cooked and was tasty and hot. We wish them well with the brunch offering as it is very much worth a visit.

What a lovely pub, felt very welcome from the start. The two servers ( I'm so sorry I didn't catch your names) were lovely from the lady on the door to the man who was our main server who entertained us throughout. The food was delicious. Will definitely go back

Popped in on Thursday for dinner while visiting family. Absolutely lovely food and atmosphere. We had a bit of a family issue while there, and the staff and landlord could not be more kind and helpful! Truly lovely people. Please pop in and support this great business!

We booked at The Marine for Mothers day lunch, as it looked like it had been refurbished, was in a great position on the sea front and it welcomed dogs. The menu also catered for vegans, which suited two of our party. We were lucky that the tide was right for a nice long walk across Jacobs Ladder beach where it's all sand, with many rockpools at low tide. We parked in the big car park opposite, (for only £2 a day in winter) and were able to walk straight round to The Marine, from the beach. The Marine has a lovely decor and friendly staff who were kind and attentive throughout our meal. The meals we chose were really delicious and the two vegans particularly enjoyed the mushroom wellington and treacle tart with ice cream for pudding. Although this was a busy day for them, we never felt under pressure to finish and enjoyed the servers banter. We will definitely be looking to book again. Thank you The Marine Team!

With the doors open, right opposite the beach, it was idyllic, on a rare sunny day in january.. The food was good and the service was friendly and prompt.

Visited The Marine for a birthday lunch. Ordered the Cajun burger which was delicious, served with the best Cajun mayonnaise I’ve ever tasted. Other members of the party ordered pizza, monkfish and belly pork. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and were left feeling happily satisfied. We needed a box for the leftovers. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. We felt like they “ went the extra mile” to meet our requests. We would definitely go back and recommend to others.

What a fabulous little find this was. Superb service, excellent food beautifully cooked, served piping hot and great value for money. Highly recommend

Popped in unannounced in a large group, accommodated no problem. My 5 year old daughter is very reserved, the staff managed to get her talking (which she has never done with a stranger!). Very pleasant staff served us, a credit to the establishment

This place really is the master of all trades, you can have a beautiful seafood sharing platter with some equally amazing made cocktails in a relaxed setting. But somehow it feels incredibly refined and the food is outstanding. Please visit if you're passing by, or if you're in two minds, let this review push you into booking a table. You will not regret it!

A lovely bar found on Trip Advisor and well worth a visit . Seafood is a specialty but pizzas , burgers and other selections are available. Good ambience and baguettes available at lunchtime along with a standard menu. Looking forward to visiting on a Sunday lunchtime when they do roast baguettes along with roasts. The sticky toffee pudding (with clotted cream and ice cream) was the best. I am sooo full

Going here for Lunch was the highlight of my stay, not only was the food more than what I expected (and well priced) - but the service was what really made us stay for a few glasses of wine after! Friendly and knowledgeable staff that Impressed me and the family. Will eat here again.

Pre Christmas lunch with a friend. The staff were super helpful, polite and happy, even though they were busy. Food as always was outstanding, 100% recommend the Holsworthy belly pork, was totally melt in the mouth and full of flavour, even ate the sprouts, and I never eat sprouts.

Disappointed.. we booked a family Christmas meal.. ordered from the set menu.. no Christmas choice for children.. the food was bland.. portions small.. felt rushed.. where we was sat was cold.. not your best

We had the most excellent work Christmas dinner at the Marine, despite their Christmas meals not starting until December they were able to accommodate 30 of us late December. The food was delicious and all dietary requirements catered for, my pigeon and fish was delicious and the crumble was to die for. Rob, Charlie and all the staff looked after us all evening and nothing was too much trouble, we left feeling happy, full and festive!

Situated on the front, called in to meet friends and for a drink, v rustic and comfortable inside, lots of people eating and food looked good, excellent pint of TT served. Will revisit for food.

We had our work Christmas party at the Marine, the food was incredible from the turkey all the way to the Brussel sprouts. Service was impeccable, It was a busy night and all of the staff were happy and helpful along with a great seasonal atmosphere. Cannot recommend highly enough!

We are locals and have enjoyed excellent meals at the Marine but their Christmas Menu (we pre-booked a week in advance) was off the scale in deliciousness! We enjoy their feather blade beef, turkey with all the trimmings and tasty ample veggies on the side plus a yummy homemade apple crumble. Thank you to Rob and his team who always look after us, personal attentive service that makes the experience extra special! Here's to more visits in 2024!

Christmas meal for my husband and I. Monk fish was cooked so delicate and precise it melted at you are it my husbands blade of beef was delicious. Excellent value for money, superb quality of food and super friendly atmosphere. Most of all management very welcoming and work as hard as all staff. Highly recommend. We are definitely going to become regulars (even if a few miles to get to!).

We step up this nice restaurant at the side of the beach, we were thinking of something different for the night but we decided to go ahead as a friend recommendation, the staff were really friendly and the food was superb, we had soup of the day for starters and then some bbq ribs and a seafood plater. Everything was delicious but the soup was something else. Definitely try again next time I'm at Sidmouth

Arrived just after 3pm on a weekday so didn't get to sample the dining personally, but offerings at another table looked great. Staff were polite and friendly. Dog friendly and great views from the outdoor seating area.

Great pub with really friendly staff. Very welcoming to us bringing our retriever in. Really enjoyed the calamari and the chips were cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend sitting outside on a sunny day if possible to watch the world go by.

We only stopped for a couple drinks but the hospitality was exceptional, just a couple of really pleasant chaps behind the bar. The building is beautifully presented, with a small but functional terrace overlooking the stunning coastline.

We hadn’t booked but arrived early and got a table. Very friendly atmosphere and waitress helpful. Initial problem with wine served but she soon sorted it. I had baked Hake served on sauté potatoes. Hake was lovely but not sure how fresh the potatoes where....

Beautiful restaurant with a wonderful view of the sea. The fresh fish specials are locally sourced and beautifully cooked and presented. I can recommend the sharing seafood platter and the lemon sole, also the calamari is fabulous. The staff are welcoming and provide excellent service....

Great location, very nicely fitted out inside, very friendly staff, only in for drinks on a couple of afternoons. Will definitely be in when we are next down and hopefully we'll have time to try the food.

Two meals and a couple of drinks here as well. First meal we chose off the specials board. The bass and lemon sole. Both equally delicious. Well seasoned. I would have preferred the vegetables to be less al dente, but that is a personal preference....
