Great catering facility at Grimsthorpe Castle and Gardens. Very generous portions at reasonable prices! A refreshing change. Lovely staff too 💪👏👌😋

A lovely find. Busy, friendly cafe, perfect for lunch after a trip to the Willoughby Gallery. I had a tuna salad that was plentiful and freshly prepared. I would certainly return.

Disappointed with the quality of the cake. The orange and sultana cake looked lovely under the glass dome, big, deep moist squares. Unfortunately we were given small dry strips from the edge of the cake which tasted stale. I should have complained at the time but was in a rush. To charge top cafe prices they need to deliver like a top cafe, perhaps a visit to Cake and Co in Stamford would give them some tips

We visited Grimsthorpe castle recently and made the mistake of having lunch at the March Hare mobile cafe. The food came in wooden boxes and was not well presented.. The knives and forks were also made of wood and were quite fragile. We had to eat our food in a covered barn, not very salubrious. We are long past covid now so why can't an upmarket place like this have an upmarket place for visitors to eat?

Whilst out on a motorcycle ride with my daughter we stopped at the March Hare for an impromptu lunch, it was very warm so we both had iced coffee, me a mocha and my daughter a latte, for food we had a panini each, tuna with cheese melt and a Brie and bacon with cranberry. All food was lovely accompanied by a tasty salad. Service was friendly and quick. Can’t wait to visit again.

WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!!. We really like this place and was looking forward to our breakfast!. Service with a smile it was not!. We ordered 4 breakfasts 1 being gluten-free!. When the food arrived the plates weren’t hot, which makes the food go cold very quickly!. The mushrooms were very fatty, the gluten free sausages were rock hard like they had been defrosted in a microwave too long and started cooking which makes them hard , so not nice eating , my husband’s sausages were very pale in colour and were only just cooked, they needed cooking for longer !. The tea cups weren’t very clean still had old tea drips around the rim of the cups, think your washing facilities needed looking at!!!, there were brown bits in the milk not sure what they were. Whilst going to the toilet, the lady who was cooking (which was not the owner), had her phone on the work top, flicking through it, I’m afraid this isn’t very hygienic when working with food, with germs on the phone screen and not knowing where the phone has been previously then touching food where hands weren’t washed after touching the phone, long painted fingernails shouldn’t be present when working with food ( germ holders!) A Health inspector wouldn’t have been impressed. With it being the only thing we ate all day, we had been very poorly that night and the following day!. WILL NOT BE RETURNING!!!!!.

Called in for lunch after a traffic nightmare on the A1. We'd been here a few times before and we were really looking forward to lunch and a relax. My cheesy beans were on cheap white bread and the beans didn't seem to be a quality brand. (I was not asked what bread I wanted). Jeff's fishfinger sandwich was greasy and poorly cooked. There was salad inside the sandwich which was soggy because it was a hot sandwich. The young waitress didn't know what Eggs Royale was. And didn't find out. It was all staffed by young girls who haven't yet grasped the notion of good and friendly customer service. And the radio is loud and insistent and for the benefit of the staff it seems to me and not for the customer. How we wanted it to be the same as last time. Perhaps we just caught it on a bad day. I hope so.

Clean and fairly comfortable and relaxing tea rooms. We had 2 medium coffees and 2 smallish pieces of cake. Both were okay, but at around £15 represented poor value.

Afternoon Tea in the beautiful village of Corby Glen. Three different sandwiches - each one more tasty than the one before (my personal favourite was the Coronation Chicken) - followed by three wonderful cakes and a massive scone with clotted cream and jam, all washed down with what seemed like a bottomless pot of tea. Having a preference more for savoury than sweet food I would personally have liked one more sandwich and one less cake but this certainly doesn't detract from a strong 5/5.

We have visited the March Hare on a number of occasions and enjoyed each visit. It is welcoming with friendly helpful staff. There is a mouth watering display of cakes with a varied menu and seating either inside, outside in fine weather or in a sheltered courtyard to the rear. As we live within 20 miles of Corby Glen we have noted the owners progress from a new business through lockdown and building on success with new ideas to include bed and breakfast and takeaways
