Is it open or closed? Door open no one around each visit. Yet the venue and signed is up???? Not sure if I'll be calling again!! ----_------------------_----------------------

My wife and I went for lunch here last week. We received a very warm welcome and our order was taken quickly and efficiently. I ordered the Manor Royale burger and fries and my wife had a tuna and cheese toastie and a bowl of carrot and coriander soup. The food was lovely and my burger was cooked perfectly. Whilst eating our lunch an afternoon tea was served on the next table - it looked very appetising and definitely something we would like to come back for. I live local and would definitely recommend this tea room - the menu has lots of choice so whether you come for breakfast, lunch or just coffee and cake I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Nice little tea room with pleasant staff. Limited menu but sufficient for tea room category. Handy for stop off on way to Lake District.

Called for lunch with my wife and grandaughter. We live local but this is our first time of visiting and it won't be our last. We were met by a very amenable gentleman who was so courteous and helpful. Our order was son taken and after a short while our meals appeared. The food was tasty as were our drinks. Our grandaughter availed herself of the apple juice which was made from the apples grown in the garden . All together a pleasant experience.

This was the first time my friend and I had visited here and we weren't disappointed. It is a lovely old building with lots of character and very friendly welcoming staff. We had homemade soup and bread, both delicious ,followed by a hot apple crumble and custard with their own apples. There was lots of choice on the menu and I would definitely recommend it, a little gem.

Came for a festive afternoon tea and it was delicious. So much food and even came away with some sandwiches and cakes in little doggy boxes. Highlights were the lovely pastry and the ginger cake. Would highly recommend

I had a very posh burger with salad and fries, a constantly refilled pot of tea and a fresh cream scone. The whole thing was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent.

Amazing little cafe! Had everything from a toastie, sandwich, scone and cake. Every thing was by far over and above what we thought it would be! Would love to come back next time we visit

Popped in whilst out walking the dog, the gentleman working was really friendly and made me feel very welcomed. Delicious and reasonably priced coffee and cake with beautiful, quaint inside and outside seating. Really recommend stopping by even if for a quick drink.

Visited Manor Tea Room with my husband on Good Friday...We sat inside by the gorgeous log burning fire, but some people were sat outside in the lovely little courtyard. We had the afternoon tea which was fabulous; a nice mix of sweet and savoury, along with a choice of tea or Atkinsons Coffee..It was truly delicious, freshly made sandwiches, cheesy pinwheels, a tasty pot of chickpea, red onion, cucumber salad, fresh scones with jam and cream, and beautiful home made cakes..Very relaxed atmosphere and Richard the owner is a lovely guy..unobtrusive but friendly..There are other options available such as 3 course lunches, sandwiches, toasties, breakfast brunch baps, cakes to die for..Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Popped in for lunch and sat outside in the sheltered courtyard. We were made very welcome as was our dog. Menu had a great selection of food and drink. We both had toasted sandwiches which arrived quickly and we’re well presented and delicious. Great service, friendly staff. Would recommend and would return.

I just happened upon this delightful place when I was looking for directions-I had time to spare so enjoyed a fabulous cappuccino and a crispy bacon barm cake. The owners were so friendly and relaxed and it was just the perfect place to be lost in.

Well worth the effort to go upstairs if you can manage the stairs.

We have visited in the past and always been reasonably happy. Today was not a good experience. The bread was stodgy for both the egg mayonnaise baguette and the rarebit. The egg was congealing and the ‘seasonal salad’ was just a mishmash of little bits! So rather expensive at £27.85 for the above plus two traybakes and a small pot of tea. Sadly highly unlikely to return.

Visited the cafe before a trip to the castle. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and cafe was warm and inviting on a cold January day. Coffees were made to perfection, as were the good and cakes. We will definately be back.
