Nice place, but let down a bit by navigating through the building, alot of people get confused so wasn't just us, which goes to show they really need to update the signs. Rooms were OK although appearing outdated, pillows were deformed and rock hard, the towl rail didn't work, bathroom extractor didn't work either and a gap in the window so things are showing the age or lack of maintenance, walls are very thin, even in our friends room you could hear people talking a d the tv, could hear people walking in corridor at nighttime and flushing toilets. Nice cheap frills hotel unless other areas were better than where we stayed in. You have to precook all activities in advanced too as the availability on the day cannot be guaranteed

Do not make the mistake and thing it is all part of the same complex, very old and out dated. Service was great and friendly just a kick in the teeth when you have to walk through the other part of the hotle to get to this

Don't listen too much to reviews, I will put the record straight on what my experience was really like.... First up, we got lift there as parking is super expensive. Email told us to go to celtic manor to book in but after queueing for 15 minutes we were told to go to the manor house which can be accessed by walking through the main hotel which can be very daunting and takes a while at first but when you know the route it's a good nice walk. We were located on third floor, our room was pretty good. Maybe ever so slightly dated decor but I think that's how it's meant to be. Modern bathroom and two TVs. My only complaint was the room was slightly colder then I'd like and the heating seemed a bit broken but it didn't ruin my experience. Plenty of smoking areas all within a 3-4 minutes, decent bar and plenty of space, so much of it. We found one little area that was lit up and quite pretty where I had a romantic dance with my fiancee. Pool is good, spa facilities... Breakfast is a bit limited on certain things and was cold. I had my reservations about this place but I was wrong. It was lovely and quiet. No noise from anywhere and we were situated in smoking area and nobody was there

No parking near the Manor house only drop off so expect a walk back after parking your car, either up hill to outside carpark or other side of hotel near pool for underground. Check in was efficient, carry luggage up 2 flight of stairs and walk to lift to get to bedrooms. Had to book time slot for use of pool, at least 5 min walk from room to pool using 3 escalators and lift. Swimming pool and jacuzzi in main area (jacuzzi not available due to chlorine and temp). There is a jacuzzi etc in each of the changing rooms but no good for couples. Bedroom was usual hotel room, clean and comfy bed but needed updating as looking tired and scruffy, had to ask for robes to wear to pool (told they would be in room) and water. Adjoining door to next door in our room. Had to book time slot for breakfast which was buffet style, varied selection, individual yoghurts, cereal, pastries, cooked breakfast, toast, ham and cheese slices, not a great selection. It suited us as we had an event at ICC but would not return.

£17 for a cider and a pint of beer ! Ridiculous. I mean I get it it’s a nice hotel but not that nice ! We left to spend the evening else where instead, and only gone back to sleep and use the pool and even that wasn’t too good . A part of it was closed and the man and women have everything separately my husband and I couldn’t enjoy it together . It was his birthday and it was not good .

We stayed for a one night break at the manor house over Christmas, I can't speak highly enough of this hotel. The service was prompt and polite, the rooms were spotless and well appointed. Tha Pad restaurant was amazing and the food was fantastic, and being connected to the celtic manor resort meant that you can use all of the facilities, bars, restaurants, shops and spa facilities.

There were some maintenance issues throughout that meant the stay wasn't quite the luxury experience we expected.

Overall a very nice stay using the free swim at the spa and steamrooms ect. in the early evening. Then pickup from the door of the Manor House and taken to the far side of the golf courses for a beautiful meal.

Room was very nice but as I was single occupancy in a double I had an adjoining door and the person next door was a really heavy snorer it was annoying and hard to get to sleep .I think this should be looked at .one more thing was that the hotel where my room was and my friends the corridors were being painted and I think that these rooms should have been left empty until all works was finished

Poor experience for the most part; the room was caked in dust, the mattress was terrible, one of the bed sheets was dirty and the breakfast at the manor was severely lacking. Two members of staff weren’t welcoming, but everyone else I’d engaged with was amazing. I arrived for business and it all negatively impacted my time and work. It’s such a shame given its presence seen when driving by. I had high hopes.

Rooms and the resort we're fantastic, bit odd being charged to park underneath the property £20/24 hour period. 2010 course was great to play and in decent condition considering recent weather conditions, Ven, really looked after us whilst on the 2010. Unfortunately the Montgomery was in a very very poor condition on just about every fairway, in some areas it looked like cattle had, had free range along the course, we lost quite a few drives in the middle of the fairway, mystifying and annoying, what we fail to understand is no one forewarned us about the said condition, really spoiled our last days play, all that said great venue in great weather, enjoy.

An appalling experience at Rafters. We were celebrating my Fathers 60th and all the steaks came out blue, some even had raw meat visible on their sides from being improperly seared. Management made a big deal of comping our bill and returning our vouchers as they ushered us out the door. The next day we discovered they had cashed the vouchers without telling us. Trying to get Celtic Manor to honour comping the bill and returning or refunding the vouchers has been a nightmare and we’ve been met with abuse from staff and people hanging up on us when we call. For a 5* hotel, the service is shameful. Stay far away from the Celtic Manor Resort!

Lovely room, great breakfast in a lovely quiet dining room but the items I had pre ordered for my husband's birthday were not in the room on arrival as promised so suprise was spoilt. After telephoning to complain, the items took a long time to arrive and then the wrong drinks were sent!

We loved it all despite the high rates on parking. The info lead us to think that it was free for costumers but it wasn't. Also outside car park is a bit far and not so acessable if you stay at the Manor.

I stayed here on a golf mini break in April. The courses were very wet but, of course, the resort can't help the old great British weather and they gave us a voucher so we could come and play the Roman Road course for free. The 2010 course was wet & a challenge, but great to play. The whole experience made us feel like pros for the day, even if the golf itself certainly didn't! What i really wanted to say though was that during our break, ALL the staff we dealt with were absolutely incredible. Professional, friendly and obviously well trained and happy to help where they could. Big shout out to Dermot, who was one of the mini bus drivers they have on site to ferry you around, as it is a very big site, as he was so helpful and friendly. A real credit to the resort.

It's an old building that has seen better days but still a nice place. The service is hit or miss. I think the staff are well trained but underpaid. I have not had a good experience here. One night the bed we slept in had a toy in it from another guest. They gave up a discount on our next stay but they started being slick about the terms and conditions when we tried to use the discount. It's not a bad place but you are always queuing for everything, especially the lifts to the floors. I think it's a bit overpriced for the service you get. If your coming here don't get your hopes up to much. Also if you drive you pay for parking but have to walk across a field to get to the resort. Leave your bags with the concierge first then park.

The room and hotel in general were clean and comfy. The real standout however was the service, the shuttle buses were always very prompt, the staff were friendly and always helpful. We had plenty of good chats with Rob on reception, very approachable and helpful whenever we needed assistance.

A mixed bag. Opted to stay at the Manor House this time as it was half the price of the main hotel and we just needed a bed for the night. The room is very dated now (if floral curtains, pelmets, mahogany furniture and tiny beds are your thing you’ll be fine) and really needs an overhaul for the price charged. Bathroom is basic and I would have welcomed a better selection of toiletries (eg. Body lotion included) We tried the online check-in at 12.30 and to our surprise our room was ready, well ahead of the 4pm check-in so this is a useful tool I would encourage people to use, you might get lucky with early arrival! However, the key to unlock the room on the app did not work and so we had to get a key card from reception, which kinda defeats the purpose. this needs work because it felt like the reception team were a bit over the fact this keeps happening (I don’t blame them). Be aware that car parking is NOT included in the cost of your stay, car parks are not close by, it’s hilly and there are no pavements if you’re going to the manor rather than main hotel. I personally think if you are staying at the resort your parking should be included, this feels like a rip-off. Breakfast was buffet style and absolutely fine. The Forum spa/pool area was ok, this is starting to feel dated now and needs a lick of paint. The steam room was a massive disappointment and wasn’t really working. Lack of water fountains around too. In the shower areas they provide, what I can only assume is, a generic hair and body wash in wall-mounted soap containers. In a nutshell none of this screams “luxury and indulgence” as described on their website. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The best thing about the entire stay, and the reason I booked in the first place, is the resort run a shuttle bus service between all of their collection of venues. This service is 5 star in my opinion. Reception call the driver, they arrive within 5-10 minutes and take you to your destination, round the clock. The drivers were prompt & polite and should be commended for this. In a nutshell I wouldn’t book the Celtic manor for a weekend of luxury getaway, but for an overnight stay if you’re at a party or event nearby it’s a good location and ticks a lot of boxes.

Nice room but it has little soundproofing. I stayed there for business and had to leave at 6am. Unfortunately the room next to mine were partying until 4:30am, so little sleep was possible as the walls are quite thin. Security did knock on the door next to mine but to no effect.

This is part of the Celtic Manor Conference Centre. We enjoyed our stay (see the Review for Celtic Manor Conference Centre). When considering whether to stay here bear in mind that this is a HUGE hotel, not a bespoke house hotel and that there is a £20 per night parking charge. Staying here gives you the choice to use the swimming pools and gym etc. on the usual terms.

Returned 5 weeks later my wife and myself. Both had sirloin steaks medium and medium rear. Both cooked as requested. Frendly attentive staff . Birthday offer so only paid for one steak . Very good offer. Will now download app for myself. Family meal midday . Five people all pleased with their meals . Very polite waitress. Meals came at the ŕight time we had finished the salad bar thing. Desserts were large and well presented. With drinks about £25 a head will return. Another family birthday visit all still good.

Cancelled my ordered 10 minutes before it was due and turned off new orders. Can't be bothered to get the full menu onto Uber to order either. Everywhere in Newport market is turning into a joke. Left me an hour late with no food this evening, I wouldn't have ordered if I had known it would be cancelled!

Luke warm and missing items which has been a regular occurrence whether from delivery or pick up for the last few years.
