We had the wake for my son’s funeral at the Weston Manor Hotel, a very sad occasion but the hotel was a lovely venue, very attentive staff and the food was delicious. We opted for a hot buffet, lasagna and other dishes plus deserts, and the price was reasonable, I cannot fault the hotel.

Lovely surprise stay from my son Dominic. Amazing building seeped in character. Mario’s welcomed us and he was so helpful and it was obvious he takes great pride in his work . Suite ut of this world . Ate In dining room for dinner and you could not fault it . So wonderful . Christine in restaurant was so sweet, helpful and very efficient . Only downside was the breakfast . For such a truly wonderful Manor I felt there should have been different selections and would prefer to be served from the table and cooked when requested . Overall a truly lovely stay and well worth flying from Ireland . Would love to return with my husband .

Beautiful building but recently has changed hands and quite bizarre furniture choices for historic building. We had dinner at the hotel in main dining room. Food was very expensive which is OK if of a very high standard but the food was cold and although it looked ok tasted bland and not enjoyable. We all had different choices and everybody reported the same. It was trying too hard to be a certain image. The price was around £70 each with one bottle of wine between us. There was £45 service charge added for 5 people.

We live 10 minutes away and have never been to the restaurant before. I took my wife for a surprise afternoon tea. The setting is lovely, and restaurant is very nice. The service was great. The food was very good, with a nice selection of sandwiches and patisserie. They have both plain BBC and fruits scones too. There is a really wide selection of tea, both green and black. The whole experience was special with quality china and cutlery. It may seem like a small thing but added to premium feel to the meal I think it was really good valve and made our bank holiday.

Amazing stay , highly recommend. Only issue was the extremely high restaurant prices . We were hoping to eat at the restaurant but ended up going somewhere else for half the price in Bicester which is only 5 minutes drive away.

The food here was amazing and beautiful presentation at all times as was the breakfast , I would throughly recommend this hotel for the most relaxing enjoyable stay and will certainly be returning .

Weston Manor exceeded our expectations when 7 of us stayed in Oct 23 for a big birthday celebration. The rooms (especially the Blenheim Suite) were beautifully furnished, fabulous beds and linen and immaculately clean. The staff could not be more helpful (big thank you to Joy and Maria). The bar and dining room are cosy, elegant, classy and exceptional food!! Easy to get to and a fire awaited us in the foyer of this outstanding building which has recently benefited from a multi million pound refurbishment which continues in the Coach House Annex. I have already recommended it to at least 10 friends and family and I really can’t wait to go back. AND it’s affordable. I could not have hoped for more. Thank you for making it a wonderful stay to all the staff and the breakfast was equally lovely!

We came back after 6 years to celebrate our anniversary, having spent time here after our wedding. Quite a bit had changed in that time, but we spent a really lovely 2 days here. The staff were all really helpful and took us round showing what was different since our last visit. We had a great meal on our first night and cocktails in the bar area. Everyone was really nice that we spoke to. The Chapel Suite was fantastic with amazing old features and big spacious bathroom. The hotel is really well located to visit Bicester and Oxford, and we are looking forward to coming back in 4 years for our 10 year anniversary.

This is a wonderful building with some superb features. Still being refurbished, the main building is complete with a limited number or rooms but others will be ready shortly. The quality is superb, the limited palette of materials allowing the original structure to stand out. The dining room is superb, with views out across the lawn. There are several other large reception rooms including the magnificent oak-panelled great hall with its musicians gallery above. The bedroom was extremely comfortable with a large en-suite bathroom. The food was excellent, the menu slightly limited but more than compensates for this with the very high quality and superb presentation. The wine list was again slightly limited, but there were some very high quality wines. The hotel was an excellent base from which to explore north Oxfordshire and Oxford itself, being relatively close to Oxford. The surrounding area to the hotel is quiet and peaceful and the hotel grounds, parts of which are being refurbished, are extensive and beautiful.

We had a two night stay, had dinners and breakfasts throughout our stay which we enjoyed. We found this small hotel to be well positioned for the local attractions. Our room was in the old part of the house, although it was characterful with wonderful windows and views outside, generally luxurious and it even benefitted from underfloor heating, some noise outside the room could be heard. In particular, a strength of the hotel as well as the character and wonderful setting, was the staff who we found to be very good, in particular the dining room staff who we found to be excellent. We felt well looked after and would visit again.

This is a beautiful Country Manor hotel. The building and grounds are all that could be desired. They have three main assets, the staff are the absolute best, the food is exemplary, and the comfort is everything you need. The hotel is being refurbished at the moment to a very high standard and although it did not affect our visit it could limit the enjoyment of the grounds. If you wish to sleep later than 6.30am avoid rooms 10 and 11. The kitchen fan starts at 6.30am and destroys sleep. We did not hear it late at night as the restaurant was closed. The management could think about adjusting the room doors as they slam with a mighty bang if not held back. Our friends bath room had no hand rails which made entering the bath slightly perilous but when pointed out the staff immediately said they would take that on board. With Oxford city and Blenheim castle close to hand as well as many other attractions it is an ideal place to stay. Taken as a whole you could not find a more leisurely, pleasant and welcoming place to spend a few nights. We will definitely return.

This hotel was one of the best I have ever stayed at ! Recently it has been refurbished and everything is clean and fresh. The staff are very friendly and always on hand when you need them . My husband and I had 3 nights there mid week so wasn’t as busy as it could be , but more attention for us, and we had an upgrade to a deluxe room with all we could need including a coffee machine slippers and robe and good toiletries !We had a lovely meal in the lavender restaurant there ,little bit pricey but great for an occasion, and breakfast was plentiful with a nice laid out continental and the hot plates were served at the table with good portions. This hotel would be ideal hired out for weddings as the grounds are lovely and peaceful and there is an outside pool under renovation and a spa in the making! Great location for Oxford only 20 mins by car and a few pubs on the way in the quiet villages near by !

We can back to stay with Weston Manor after staying here last year in November. We were given room 14 which was beautiful, large room, temperature was perfect in the bedroom and we love the touch of the little fudge pieces and coffee machine ! We dined in the restaurant both times and the food is delicious, scallops were tasty, and the belly pork generous portions. Beef fillet was really good, cooked to perfection and the chicken ballontine was again a generous portion! Possibly one of the best rum ba ba’s I have had in a while, and the wine selection is very complimentary. Breakfast all very nice, scrambled eggs cooked just as you’d expect given the food the night prior and all the service has been attentive but not overwhelming. We’ll be back, thank you for looking after is again !

What a wonderful hotel and so well priced for a classic double which had excellent bathroom and other facilities. The open fire in reception was such a warm welcome on a cold day and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. This is my 3rd visit to the manor and every visit is better than the one before. First visit was in 2018 then again in 2019, on the 15th February, to celebrate our anniversary. So my husband and I decided to go again this year and it was absolutely beautiful. The staff were lovely as usual and especially Diana who served us our dinner and the beautiful Emie at the check-in desk in the morning of the 17th of Feb, was an absolute star. At check out we met with the gorgeous Sofie, who managed my booking last week. Dinner was outstanding, and the dishes were extraordinary! It is the ideal place to go to fall in love or to rekindle your love. Believe me. Regardless of the weather. In winter it's cosy and in summer it's warm. It's just ideal for all beautiful occasions!! * But please don't take little kids there, so not to spoil other people's romantic meals loll.

Stayed here for a murder mystery evening. Hotel very atmospheric and staff very attentive. Thoroughly enjoyed the murder mystery evening BUT the bedroom was awful! Think we drew the short straw since everybody else was saying how lovely their bedroom was. We stayed in room 12 which is classed as the footmans room so assume we stayed in what was the servants quarter, room 14, next to us was classed as the butlers room. Lots and lots of stairs and very, very narrow winding corridors. Room very small and very claustrophobic with lowered ceiling over the bed area. Staff to their credit were very good and carried our suitcase up and down and to and from the room. Would most certainly have asked for a different room had we been staying for more than one night and the hotel seemed quite full since we were part of a large coach group. Would return to this hotel but absolutely not in room 12 or 14 for which oxygen is certainly required

We decided to go out for Sunday lunch to celebrate the start of half term. Alarms bells should have begun to ring when there was no one in the restaurant when we arrived at 1pm. We ordered drinks and were then told that it was a bar menu rather than Sunday lunch. We debated leaving however decided to stay and eat as it was unlikely that we would get in anywhere else. I chose a fish finger sandwich. Now at this point I should say that growing up my siblings and I were in a small minority of people who enjoyed school dinners largely because mum was the world's worst cook. The offering that arrived was a cold congealed mess. It was supposed to be a fish finger sandwich. I haven't been presented with anything this dreadful since that last meal mum cooked before we sacked her and I took over the family cooking myself. This place is truly dreadful.

I booked an afternoon tea using a voucher I was given for Christmas last Friday. Luckily I phoned to check booked time on the day because it turned out there was no booking made. Very odd considering they took all details over the phone and code numbers of voucher. On arrival two ladies were in reception and straight away asked how they could help. I said we had a booking and they asked us to wait in the hall area. I did mention about booking Friday but they were not interested. A man came and asked for us to follow him pointing out to be careful it was very dark. He did ask for the voucher. He showed us to a table in the window. He asked if we had any dietary requirements. He then came a short while later with the tiered stand with sandwiches scones and cake on. It did not look very special but did taste ok. The scones were the best they came with butter and jam maybe cream might have been nice too. The cakes were ok. He did not bring any tea so we thought he would bring that next. We waited and waited. He came back in and just observed so I asked him If we could have the tea. He said of course. When he brought it he did apologise he forgot. It was very average altogether and I don’t feel it was worth the money. I think staff and detail are very important and they just don’t push for that special experience.

My husband and I spent one night here in the junior suite which was in the coach house just next to the main manor. I was a little sceptical having read other reviews but was pleasantly surprised. The room itself was very well equipped. It was in the attic space and felt cosy even though it was really spacious. Everything was clean and well presented. We opted to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant and couldn't fault the food or the service. The only niggles we had were that there was no tv remote and the shower would be hot one minute and cold the next but for a one night stay, this wasn't an issue. Yes the hotel is a little tired but it is an old manor and has a very quaint feel. Overall a perfectly enjoyable and relaxing stay.

We arrived to a surly receptionists who pointed us down to the dining room and told us a colleague would be waiting to greet us, we arrived outside the dining room, no one was there, we waited five minutes, we were able to look at the list of the other people booked into the dining room for afternoon, their names address and how they were paying was on the list, so had we been of a criminal mind set a lot of infromation could have been gathered with a click of a mobile phone photo. Not great when it comes to keeping up with ICO recommendations. Finally someone turned up to take us into the dining room, no-one offered to take our coats, no it was fine to have them on the back of the chair apparently. The dining room was freezing cold so to be fair I was happy to keep mine on. We were then bought a pot of tea and some china, a three tier cake rack was plonked unceremoniously on the table and we were just left to get on with it. Every cake, sandwich and scone was freezing cold, so cold even with jam and cream the scones were tasteless. We had booked in on the hour, with the walk down to the dining room the wait outside and the afternoon tea we were back in the car and leaving within 30 minutes, apart from the receptionist who had little choice not one member of staff spoke to us or asked if everything was OK or even look you in the eye. Obviously the management are happy with the situation as looking at the terrible and poor comments on here there are no responses or counter arguments from the management. It makes you wonder if the Owner has died recently or the management are deliberately running the place down, it would be a prime site for building a housing estate on maybe they wish to cash in, you cant blame them but no longer on my money we won't visit again in this life time the place isn't even clean.

We don’t do very well here and won’t be coming again! This s time we had a £50 voucher to spend. Having had a terrible experiences with vouchers when we came for afternoon tea I had the voucher printed in duplicate with number highlighted when I booked the bar for 6.30. I eat a little fish but no rice or meat so fish and chips on the bar menu was the only thing I would eat. So we arrived at 6 for drinks to find the bar busy and no spare tables! So imagine our surprise when we are told that our booking is for 7.30 in the restaurant. I asked if the chef would cook us fish and chips and after 5 mins was told that he would as a favour but it was breadcrumbed not batter. So my husband had the fish and I ended up with a bowl of mushroom soup! He said the fish was very good but my soup was too thick, full of garlic and lukewarm. The bread was ok but butter in packs which is surprising for the prices! The room is beautiful but no heating so it was freezing. I put my coat on half way through. The prices are really high £32 for steak.the menu is very limited- goodness knows how you get the bar menu!

Having booked a weekend break with 3 friends back in March was really looking forward to a relaxing restful time, our booking included a twin room, 3 course meal in the hotel restaurant and I had packed accordingly expecting not to be leaving the hotel. We arrived at the same time as a bridge and groom and a wedding party. The whole place had been booked out to the wedding and upon check in we were told that we would not be able to eat at the hotel and would need to go to the pub down the road! Apparently someone should have phoned and let us know way in advance. The Manager, Paul, dealt with us appallingly, he did not have the skills needed to treat disgruntled, disappointed guests in a way to retrieve the situation and make us feel as important as guests as everyone else. We tried to search for alternative accommodation to match what we had all been so looking forward to but nothing was free at such short notice. We resigned ourselves that we would have to stay there and go out in the pouring rain and either walk the 10 mins trip on an unlit road to get to the nearest pub or take a taxi. We opted for the taxi which cost us £12.50 each way! Quite a rip off. When we went to our bedrooms we discovered that we did not have the twin rooms booked and had double beds! We may be close friends but we are not that close and this then took more time going back to reception and speaking again with the unhelpful manager Paul. Our weekend was already ruined, no chatting in the bar over a drink or two with my friends, instead arguing with the manager about the dreadfully disappointing situation we found ourselves in from no fault of our own. We wasted around 3 hours and instead of all being relaxed and happy were stressed and miserable. The saving grace of the whole experience was the fantastic service of the General Manager, John who was absolutely marvellous, he should be the Manager, he has the people skills to salvage and retrieve a difficult situation that was totally and absolutely the fault of the hotel staff. I have never written a review before but feel so bitterly upset at the way we were treated by the Manager Paul that I had to write and vent. If you are booking a deal at this hotel, I strongly suggest you check there is not anything else more important that has taken priority to avoid your disappointment. I would also add IMO the rooms need carpet cleaning, painting, lots of stains on the carpets, mould on the ceiling and generally could do with a refresh of paint. Shame it was a rainy weekend as the grounds looked lovely but we were unable to enjoy them. Thanks for reading.

On arrival around 2pm I attended the small reception desk where a young woman was sat she was in desperate need of some training and manners in the greeting customers which was non existent. After some confusion my 3 rooms were confirmed but I was advised that I could not have the keys until 3 pm we patiently waited having a drink watching other guests arrive and receiving their keys. At just after 3pm we were given our keys only to find our room open the room still had the previous occupants dirty sheets on the floor and in the bathroom there were dirty towels in the bathroom with a dirty cup and saucer. Whist standing in the room we were met by an Oriental male who was obviously housekeeping he seemed under pressure hence no effort to immediately resolve my room for occupancy I advised him that I would return in 10 minutes and I returned to the reception to meet my guests.

Yes it could do with a major spring clean but that didnt spoil our stay in the slightest

Dinner in the main hall was a bit of a Fawlty Towers experience. The tables were in fact a steel structure with a separate chipwood table top. The steel braces of the substructure obstructed my knees. The food was pretentious but nothing to write home about. I had a pie, maybe a warmed up one from the local Tesco.

Having booked a gropon voucher for afternoon tea my wife also invited another guest to join us to celebrate a birthday, on arriving the receptionist was not at all helpful with understanding the voucher we had purchased. We made it very clear we are willing to pay for all extras & our guest, she made it very clear from her body language that we are were not really welcome due to having a voucher. We all were made to feel very uncomfortable especially my wife as it was her birthday, we were made to wait while my guest who had a phone logged on to the hotel WiFi to sort out the voucher as we had printed off the order conformation incorrectly. The waiter was waiting for us as we had booked the table for 1:15 but this receptionist was not going to help us with the voucher.I must make it clear I am a CO for a very large company that was looking for a venue for a Christmas party ...you have losses out on the stream of vevenue , the afternoon tea & service was excellent as was the bottle of champagne we ordered ,this was our second visit.

The kids treated me to a champagne cream tea here, which I was delighted with, just along the road from my favourite shop the Flight House. We had a choice of rooms to eat in and wasn’t too busy when arrived at 2.30pm. The tea and champagne was perfectly fine, the sandwiches, scones and cakes were fresh and just the right size and quantity. Fillings on sandwiches were cucumber and cream cheese, ham and mustard, cheddar and tomato and cream cheese and smoked salmon.

If you are staying in the top bedroom, run a million miles. Simply unacceptable. The hotel staff 100% know that anyone who steps in this room will complain. They should not rent this room out. No marble bathroom as advertised on their website, thread bear carpet, stains on the walls, dust everywhere, toiletries not as advertised. The list is endless but I have to mention that it smells like sewage and they have to use a potent air freshener to mask the smell.

Well placed centrally for visiting the area. Bedroom no 38 was large and modern and the bed very comfortable. Dinner lacked the necessary atmosphere and this relies on the staff, the dining area was historic but very dark we could hardly see table need lights. The food was good though. Breakfast improved as the staff were more enthusiastic and friendly.

Beautiful building with stunning grounds, in need of some attention inside (especially out of the public spaces). Stayed in room 18 which had a lot of corridor noise and is evidently near the glass recycling bins (noisy until 11pm). Breakfast distinctly average.

Stayed here prior to visiting Blenheim. Chosen for its close proximity to BP, its history and amenities, such as outdoor pool. For one night paid over £200. The amenities and over all standard of accommodation did not reflect the price point. Grubby pool not fit to swim in, broken bed, instant Nescafé in the room. Paid less at other venues and had more of a luxury experience. We were in a 'Superior' room, however, it was far from superior. Terrible pillows and protruding springs/broken mattress. Such a disappointment.

We stayed this week for one night and would have stayed more but the Manor was fully booked for the week . Historic house , beautiful grounds and garden . Easy access to Woodstock (Blenheim) and Kirtlington Park Polo Grounds . We dined in the restaurant and afterwards in the bar . Excellent meal . Friendly staff and Sabrina was a wonderful host . We will visit again .

A wonderful venue, but sadly beyond the building everything from the service to the (lack of) quality of food is appalling. Cheap ingredients, high prices. Would I visit and stay again, NO, unless new owners turn it around

We've been to the Manor a few times for meals and liked it so much I decided to have a lunch party there for my 60th birthday for 8 people. We had a really lovely time and everything went very smoothly from the friendly and helpful pre-planning to the service and excellent food and wine on the day. Would definitely recommend.

From entering into the splendid reception / seating area the tone of the staff was set by the welcoming receptionist. Always smiling, polite and helpful when ever we spoke to her. The room was bright and spacious, extra towels were asked for which were promptly received. Breakfast was lovely. A chef who knew how to do a good poached egg and scrambled. We had a bar meal which was good. The grounds are lovely.

We arrived and were very impressed by the entrance and building, then it went downhill rapidly. We had no smile from the receptionist, was asked several times if we were going to book dinner, which we replied both times we were undecided and would like to look at the menu first. We were pointed the direction of our room which was outside, we were ground floor and closest to the car park room 39.

We stayed in this lovely Manor house but it was let down by the service in the dining room. Evening meals was a disappointment with very little choice and to be honest we have had much better in Werherspoons . Breakfast was not much better and the staff were not very switched on to the customers needs etc.

This was our second visit to the Manor -and equally as good as our first stay in April last year. The hotel looks magnificent as one approaches up the driveway - and the welcome at reception by Sabrina was highly professional, polite and friendly-indeed Sabrina looked after us very nicely. We stayed in room five which was a most pleasant room with a lovely double aspect view of the garden and the front of house driveway. We took our evening meal in the room and the food came quickly and was extremely tasty and hot. The room was enjoyable - we had a good nights sleep on a very comfortable bed and the ensuite shower was powerful and hot. I particularly liked the new mobile phone and Wi-Fi linked device which comes free in the room for guests to use during their stay - very handy whilst my phone was charging. In the morning we had a yummy cooked breakfast and we were very nicely greeted by a most pleasant strawberry blonde young lady - whose name I’m afraid escapes me now. We could see that some maintenance improvements had been made in the last 11 months which added a shine to our stay. All in all - we can thoroughly recommend the Manor to any traveller - it really is a very very nice place to stay and very conveniently situated. We would have booked an additional night stay had the prices been keener on our second night - but notwithstanding that disappointment- we shall book again very soon. Rory & Deborah

Very disappointing afternoon tea today at the Weston Manor hotel. Strange stay. Upon arrival we were met by a receptionist who seemed annoyed to be interrupted. We asked where dinner was and what time as we had booked a DBB rate, to which she actually huffed at told us we didn't and we had to argue back! No explanation to where our room was either. Also, odd throws on the sofas in reception.

We arrived for a wedding anniversary meal having not eaten here before and thought it looked nice. We arrived to a very busy bar and no where to sit, which was not a great start. After the uncomfortable wait we were taken to a large cold room in which there was no open fire and no other diners. We sat down and ordered an array of meals for two adults and 3 children aged 9. It was a non engaging athmosphere with few eating.

Stayed here last night only. Two couples, rooms 12 and 14. Beautiful Manor House but a bit neglected. On arrival, the receptionist a little friendly but more interested in her paperwork and in taking a 'deposit' against anything we might charge to our rooms than in our welcome. No lift so we had to struggle our cases up several flights of stairs to our attic rooms accessed by a very narrow servants' staircase.

We booked our rooms here in February ready for our goddaughters wedding at a local church and venue in September. The hotel had double booked 4 of our rooms for the second night and only sent us an email on the morning of our first night advising us of the error. They ‘apparently’ had been unable to contact any of us despite having mobile numbers on all of our booking forms. They gave us our first night free and re booked another hotel for us for the second night. This does not compensate for us relocating on the day of the wedding and not being together as a group the following morning!!

No friendly and pleasant welcome here. The lady sitting behind the desk did not acknowledge us at all. The food was excellent value for money and of a very high standard, we all enjoyed our mains and a couple of us even forced down a pudding. I will definitely be going back.
