The Mandarin House in Northampton

Food was basic, nothing special considering it’s quite expensive. It’s located in a village hardly a city. The prices should reflect that. Service was average. Had to pay for prawn crackers even though the bill was expensive. Not free. Beef and black bean maybe two slices of actual beef and the rest is peepers and onions.

They've done it again!...delicious vegan food tonight...many thanks to the staff! Fabulous chosen and mushroom curry....we will return very soon!

Order placed via p.m. as requested, several hours before opening. Was asked if we had ordered from them before. Yes we have but not by phone. That obviously didn't count because on opening they messaged to ring the order, we had already place, through, knowing we wouldn't be able to get through. No reply to message asking if order would be honoured. Absolutely disgusting as they potentially left us unavailable to obtain food for new year and they clearly did not give a damn about their customers or ex-customers now. It does not matter if your food is good, if your rude, ignorant and let people down there is always somewhere else with just as good, if not better, food. We went there instead.

The best in the area. Food so good I didn't want it to stop. Very friendly and helpful staff. Car park at back. Delish food.

Fast service, food cooked on site, tasty. Phone and collect service or pop in and order. Would be better if they offered a delivery service for the locals.

Best Chinese take away locally - we never go anywhere else! The chips with chilli and salt are especially good!

Our go to Chinese restaurant takeaway. Good food .Great choice. Keeps me going back time and time again.

Haven't been for a while to the Mandarin. Considering it was a Monday it was busy! The food was really tasty with plenty to choose from. The service was quick. Will be going back!

Limited vegetarian choice. Part of order was not in bag. Girl on the till does not know how to work the system and needs customer service training. She made us wait five minutes for another couple to pick something when she should have took our order while she was waiting I attempted to 3 occasions on the 3Rd attempt she simply put one finger up as a just wait jesture. Really bad service. Over all its standard Chinese takeaway with no authenticity.

This is a buffet style restaurant offering a very wide range of food. There is a huge range of dishes, Chinese mainly but with lots of choice. Surroundings are high quality, staff very attentive and efficient. It is a very popular restaurant especially with families and particularly during school holidays, so is perhaps not the right place for you if you want a quiet lunch. However, I was very impressed by the quality of the food. In particular the peking duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce was outstanding. Everything I tried was well presented and delicious. The puddings were also good (but please don't put pickled onions near the fruit). Prices are very reasonable, excellent value. Congratulations Mandarin, don't change anything.

We travel over to this Chinese takeaway whenever we want a meal. Never had a bad one. There prawn toast is awesome. Free prawn crackers on orders over 20 quid. A1 recommend.
