Poor service turned up 1 hour 45 minute late, kept ringing was told it will be here soon

Very Poor service it turned up 1 hour 30 minutes late and every time i rang i was told will be 45 min tops liars ive used these for 20 year

Disgusting had a bad stomach and diarrhoea. Never again. Been in bed all day apart from getting up to go to the toilet and being sick plus the order was wrong. Everyone is slating your food

We just had a family meal delivered for a birthday celebration, One of the issues was something that was delivered that was not ordered and something that was ordered was not delivered, So we phoned up and they arranged to send another one out within 20 minutes, But they wanted the incorrect food sent back.( I wonder who would’ve got that?) After serving up what we did have my husband and I had chicken green peppers and black bean sauce, It was tasteless and disgusting. No flavour whatsoever and the chicken just did not taste like chicken., So I phoned up and asked to speak to the manager, And I found her quite RUDE to be honest. I was just given an opinion on the flavour of the food. I certainly will not be ordering from there again, and I would highly recommend that they concentrate on improving the food quality, but more importantly, the customer service

After ordering a £50 order for a birthday celebration, we received our meal. One item was incorrect, which we called up about and the item was replaced. We then served up the rest of the food and proceeded to eat. The chicken in black bean sauce was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. The meat was rubbery and didn’t taste like chicken, and the flavour was non existent. I phoned up again as a courtesy to let them know that the dish wasn’t tasting correct, and I was met with the rudest person with 0 customer service ability. I order from here frequently, and this is the last time I shall be ordering.

Best Chinese in all aspects from food to fantastic customer service and a really good English speaking phone handler to make ordering easy and efficient. A* been using for approximately 15 years. Tony

Local Chinese to the Lings and Lumbertubs area. Has been a Chinese for longer than I can remember and had always served good food a reasonable prices. They also deliver.

Absolutely good food best food ever from anywhere else to this date I would recommend it.

Have had fish n chips, chow mein, sausages. Whatever we have ordered, the food and service is great.

Went and spent £50 pound at this place, and the whole family had a bad stomach afterwards, I usually enjoy the food from here but it’s definitely gone down hill, feel like the food has just been left out and not fresh which has obviously gathered bacteria. Otherwise everyone would have been fine and not felt stomach cramps all night. Clean your cooking surfaces properly before you serve food Making people ill isn’t acceptable. Will never return. Even if you paid me

Shocking service tonight. Placed a phone order for delivery directly with shop as we had been let down previously with online orders not arriving. After an hour and a half wait a phone call was made to the shop to ask about our delivery we were told its in the car. We waited another 30 mins (more fool us!! )and have come to the conclusion we have been lied to about status of the delivery. We have rung and cancelled!!!! Really disappointed as we have used this shop since they opened and have received excellent service in the past. Will NOT be using again.

Food was cold, tasteless and undercooked. Very unsatisfied and wouldn’t recommend at all! Waste of money to go in the bin.

We order mainly English food from here because we love their chips! They are always so fresh and just the right thickness and softness! My friend usually has fish and she says that’s delicious. I have roe which has just the right amount of batter and I love their curry sauce because it’s not too spicy. They also deliver if you’re within a reasonable distance which is great and they are always on time. I’m sure their Chinese food is just as good because it is always a very busy shop and I highly recommend it.

Chinease food is always nice from here. Never had a bad meal in the 20 years of using the place.

Very rare we use these as Thorplands Chip Shop is loads better but went the other night and asked for something that shows on the online menu plus on their menu in the shop and got a rude response, awkward waiting for the food ordered, wasn't offered salt and vinegar which is a standard thing that is offered. Definitely won't use them again and will just travel else where, gone down hill from years ago as used to be the best but now it's not worth going too.

Beef curry always consistently good and reasonably priced

Another Chinese takeaway that will only take cash… tax avoidance takeaway. Revolting pork balls, full of fat and gristle. Avoid unless you like below par food.

My family and I enjoyed a very delicious Chinese takeout from here as we heard it was good…..we was not disappointed. The food tasted really nice was also fresh. My daughter was so disappointed when her brother ate all the left overs. We will be back to our hidden gem as my daughter calls it.

Never order from here. Keep changing the prices of the meals. When I questioned the woman, she didn’t have a good enough excuse. They change the prices, however, they feel suits them. My advice is order from somewhere else. Do not waste your time or money. This is the last time I’m ordering from here. Not good enough.

Food is horrible staff are rude and the Chinese lady that serves you has a moustache its put you off your food go to roosters better food and service

I will never order food from YING WA Chinese Takeaway again. This is the 3rd time they have served us rubbish food. Ordered munchie box and it was filled with mainly chips. chicken wings and two spring rolls missing from the box from the listed items. Another day ordered over £45 worth of food and barely any sea food/chicken were added in the food (They just packed rice and thought they will fool us because we ordered many plates) Then yesterday ordered 2x fried rice and history repeated itself, rice was very oily and very salty. part of the rice was just white rice meaning it wasn't even stared well and only few see foods added. Their food used to be good but now the whole family has noticed their poor quality food and complaining bitterly. The lady on the phone is very rude also. She lacks professionalism.

Probably about average for a takeaway shop. Food is somewhat good. Very rare I order takeaway from here.

Food outstanding delivery service worst I’ve ever encountered we’ve eaten from here more times than I care to remember food fantastic will never eat from here again due to there complete don’t care attitude towards telephone orders every time the food is 20 minutes plus late and stone cold not acceptable for the price your paying Such a shame as friendly and as I say food goid Don’t ever order delivery you won’t get it when you want it try other takeaway outlets as we are going to do

Well this is the second possibly the 3rd disgusting meal I've had from here I normally have Chinese which is no problem at all.today I had fish chips for me and my friend chips overcooked cold plus well overcooked fish my foxes no doubt will enjoy the feast I've put out for them tonight.i shall not be ordering fish chips ever again

Update 13/01/22: raising my review from 2 stars to 4 because the past order we have had from you has come quite quickly and within 30 mins of ordering. My family have been customers with ying wa for 20+ years. Each time we have ordered recently, using your website, we are beyond appalled at how late the food is. Today 24/12/21 we ordered at 18:20 and order was confirmed at 18:43 for delivery at 20:00. It is now 21:42, we have not received food. First time we rang you said our order wasnt made yet. 2nd time we rang you said its on its way. If its an issue with the amount of drivers available then employ more. I do believe that this is the last time we are ordering from you.l due to the recent service we have endured.

My local chippy/Chinese have been using them over 30 years even returning, when moved further away. Large portion of chips, plenty for 2 people

This cash-only takeaway is still well worth a visit. Asked for two small pieces of cod and a medium portion of chips to share, because we know from past experience that the portion sizes are very generous here. £10.60 for two pieces of battered fish and some chips. Anyway, their 'small' pieces of cod were both big enough to fill our dinner plates, with a small amount of room left at the side to pile up the chips! We were there shortly after they opened, wondered if we would be served reheated leftovers but they cooked it from fresh while we waited. The fish was absolutely gorgeous, batter was light and crispy. This place is famous throughout Northampton for their awesome chips with gravy but we didn't have gravy on our chips on this occasion. Definitely worthy of five stars. We took their takeaway menu away with us, so we might try their chinese food next time. It's a takeaway, so they don't have any tables. Recommended.

Ordered a plain chicken curry with no veg and pie and chip's they weren't that busy and the curry had veg in which I had to remove myself and the chips were mushy and clumped together and tasted more like mash potatoes with out butter not be going there again rubbish

I have used this family run takeaway restaurant for around 35 years. There food is good but the prices are great value. Portions are large and staff friendly. I now travel from other side of town to visit this restaurant.

No trip to Northampton would be complete for me with a feed at the Ying Wa. Situated in the picturesque Ling's local centre shopping precient, nestled between the green rolling hills of the Eastern Northampton housing estates of Ling's and Lumbertubs, this busy Chinese Takeaway and chippy combo caters for both tastes - Eastern and European. The menu is an eclectic mix of Prime and factorable numbers with nos 7 and 20 standing out. I had the 64 and my date had the 16 & 77. Both were great. This is a cash only eatery which helps keep trouble making hipsters from bothering the clientele. The staff are super friendly and the segregated counter ordering arrangement (Chinese cuisine & Chippy) helps keep rival fans apart. All in all good eats. We always stop on our way to our country house in Rectory Farm.

i give ying wa a solid 5 star review they probably have the best chips in northampton and i can walk there in a reasonable time i recommend you buy the small £1.30 chips if you want the best value for a snack but there curries are also peng. Also the regulars who use ying wa's take away are also polite and well-spoken never seen a bad soul there in my life.They are also usually very efficient at making food i rarely spend longer than 10 minute in the shop even during peak hours. I would definitely recommend this chip shop take away if you live local however the delivery service is also quite good if you live a bit far.

Not as good as it used to be, the beef Curry is like leather. But the Curry sauce is still one of the tastiest.

Decided on a last minute takeaway last Friday night on a recommendation. Good old fashioned Chinese takeaway, couldn’t fault it. Menu extensive and prices fair. Fed the family for £26 and couldn’t have eaten any more! Definitely will visit again

Can only assume this has changed ownership recently. Used this place for many years as a favourite. Not using anymore as yet again this evening have had to call after an hour to find out where food is, only to find yet again they have delivered the wrong food which we are now waiting to be replaced, because despite repeating the order back to my husband, went and wrote down something else instead. Sad to see a respected local business go downhill in this way

I rang up to place a order, asked to see if they delivered to my area. To then ask if he took card or cash said cash only and put the phone down. To then I rang back he was soooooo rude, clearly he doesn’t want the business. Ordered else where. Though customer service was priority clearly not RUDE!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful food and lovely staff. Been coming here since we moved to Lings 6 years ago. Recommend dish C28 from the Cantonese menu, beef in yellow bean sauce with spring onions and cashews (or with chicken its C27).

I have never waited more than 20 mins for my delivery, excellent food and very friendly staff. best local takeaway.

I ordered special fried rice, two portions of vegetable spring rolls, and mixed vegetable side. It took 18 minutes which I think is excessive - but possibly because the food was brought out and left on the side. The veggies were bland and boring, beige and oily. The spring rolls were pretty much dough with the odd pea and cube of carrot. For the privilege, I paid £13. I feel like I paid way too much for what I got, and I won't go back unless it's for chips and I'm already there.

Good food got delivered fast. Chips were a bit soggy but put them in the oven to crisp off . Will use you guys again
