Nice food, could do with slightly bigger portions. Mains need to be substituted with a side to be full. Good cocktails.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast at this beautifully decorated restaurant. The generous portions of veggies were perfect for sharing, and the cocktails were fantastic. The only downside was that the back room was quite cold, making it hard to relax without our coats. However, we love this place for its food and ambiance, and we’ll definitely be back!

Had a lovely evening here! The team here is so friendly and welcoming - special shoutout to Kate, Summer, Lauren, Phoebe and Joe! They were great!

food was great especially the tomotoes on toast with whipped feta and the roast was amazing, shame some of it had to go to waste if only they had containers for me to take it home.

The family and I went there for my birthday lunch and it's been a fantastic experience. The pub itself has a brilliant vibe, the food is absolutely delicious and the service is top notch! Charlie and Sophie were from the second we arrived all the way until we left. Would highly recommend this hidden gem.

we went to the malt for a birthday meal, lovely room & atmosphere and the 2 young girls that served us were lovely and very accommodating! The food was also lovely.

The food was amazing, especially the portion size and quality. The draught beer and cider was high quality and a good range to choose from Sam D was our waiter, was really helpful with the allergies on our table.

My normal visits are on Fridays and it can get busy and a bit too loud. Great place and good food though. The pizza is always tasty. Dogs allowed which is a bonus!

What a lovely find. We were in the area for one night and Googled places to eat. Google certainly delivered! Our meals and drinks were delicious and the service from Summer and Leah was excellent. Really friendly and just the right amount of attentiveness. I’d definitely recommend The Malt if you’re in the area.

As always, the Malt never fails to impress. You receive a greeting upon arrival at the bar, with a very friendly member of staff and promptly shown to your table. The menu caters for all tastes and pockets. The dishes vary every time you visit. The food is always well presented and tastes delicious. All the staff are friendly and approachable. You can't rail to be impressed. The restaurant is rustic and well present. It is advisable to book, especially at the weekend. The only thing that let's it down is the parking, it is limited, which does cause a problem at the weekend. Unfortunately, they are very restricted with space, due to the local railway line. Taking this into account, this would not stop me visiting The Malt.

Lovely place - food very expensive for what you get - shame because the menu looks good

I'd read all the reviews about how dog friendly this pub was and so had booked several days in advance to take the family for Sunday lunch, noting in the booking that we would have our dog with us. Our parent's are in their 80's, so logistically we have to be organised. I got the confirmation for the booking on the day that I booked it, so just before 1pm, the time we'd reserved, we arrived on the car park. As I was helping my Mom out of the car my phone started ringing and I realised it was the pub calling. As we were on the car park, we went in, intrigued as to why they were calling us. The bar where we entered seemed to be in darkness and the young guy behind the bar told us to walk up the three large steps where someone could help us with our booking. So we helped Mom (who uses a wheelchair normally) up the stairs, where the waitress told me that they'd tried calling me to say that they did not accept dogs. I said that 2 mins notice was crazy and could they seat us outside - where surely dogs are ok? She "had a word with the Manager" and he agreed that they would put the lights on in the bar and serve us Sunday lunch there. So, we tried getting Mom back down the steps and unfortunately she stumbled at the 3rd one, jolting her back. This knocked her quite sick and we had to leave the pub. As we walked out of the door we passed two other parties of people coming in....with dogs....The whole experience was truly awful. For anyone that is an unpaid carer like myself, trying to organise 2 elderly people for Sunday lunch is an all day affair, so for us to have to go home without lunch was a horrible end to what should have been a lovely day. I should have known when we pulled onto the car park that the pub wasn't very 'elderly friendly', as there were crates loaded up on the disabled parking space, so we couldnt park there anyway. My advice is - dont bother with this pub, there's plenty of others in the area that are friendlier and more professional.

SAM.D you little whippet absolutely outstanding service sam is a credit to the malt and anyone who is served and waited on by him will definitely always have a waiter who gives his all and will make sure your visit is special. Sam will always go above and beyond to make sure you are catered for perfectly. Sam.d your work ethnic is incredible for such a young gentleman keep going and you will go so far.

Tonight I took my family here for a meal the service from Charlie the bar staff was amazing she made us feel right at home from start to finish would seriously recommend and will be coming again such a relaxed and nice atmosphere and food was not a long wait and was cooked to perfection

What a little gem of a find this was! I have taken my clients for lunch here on a couple of occasions now and we love it! The food is amazing - the fish and chips is probably the best I have ever tasted in a restaurant, and what a lovely friendly waitress Charlie is! Honestly can't fault the place and will 100% be returning.

The food , decor and atmosphere are amazing in the malt , it's our favourite local pub . When I finish work early I bring my dog here for a walk and a cheeky pint , they are very dog friendly and there's always treats in the bar . Charlie and Sam are our favourite bar staff , always super friendly , you always get greeted with a smile.

Fresh food and amazing service. Came today after the malt being recommended to us and we were not disappointed. Food variety was perfect drinks cocktails what a variety. We were served by Charlie who was knowledgeable on the menu and drinks and was quick serving and seeing to our needs shame you don't do functions as we would love to bring a larger group but we will definitely be back.

I had dinner at The Malt at Landywood restaurant with my wife and two daughters. We found the prices to be decent, the staff lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed our hour and a half there. We will definitely be returning.

Wow first visit and it did not disappoint, this place needs customers it's so beautifully laid out with a fabulous comfy bar area and an even more stunning and gorgeous wooden chic designed restaurant. We went for lunch and will most definitely be back again. Our server today Charlie was extremely welcoming and had amazing hospitality checking we were ok and enjoying our food. I asked charlie the name of the chef as I was amazed with the food we had and felt they needed the recognition Chez, Stu and Ryan Amazing the flavour, decoration and the effort gone into our meals were phenomenal!

Booked a table for 4 just because. The table was ready for us early. Ordered the cod with mussels, food i wouldn't normally try, but it was great. The rosti was the highlight. Then for pudding i had the rhubarb and custard tart. 😋😋😋

Well the Ladies popped across to The Malt for a Maundy Thursday catch up and what can I say - food totally on point as per BUT our Server made our evening - a huge thankyou to Sam D who absolutely went above and beyond…even facilitating our weirdest of requests - that being to pull our names out of the hat, to assign each of us with one of the others names, to go buy a Charity Shop outfit for ahead of our Girlie Holiday to Benidorm for a special birthday…!!! Nothing was too much trouble - Sam D you are an absolute asset to the business - keep doing what you do and thankyou for our enjoyable evening - regards Kerry, Sara, Zoe, Nicky, Sarah and Lisa 🩷

Probably the most consistent pub/restaurant in the area - always great. Constructive feedback - more seating required for the non-restaurant visitors, the big tables (6-8 seaters) often get occupied by a couple so you run out of space quite quickly.

We had an excellent meal and evening. We were served by Jo, Summer and Sam D who were excellent. We visited again and had excellent service from Charlotte W - another fantastic evening.

Been a few times now and food has been very good and will be returning.. only down fall that we had to wait a hour for the food but the place was very busy.

Me and my partner dined here tonight. The food was delicious! The food presentation was above expected and extremely tasty. The staff were friendly and approachable. The decor Is very nice. Toilets were clean and modern. Parking was adequate, although I can imagine it would be a struggle to park on site when the venue is very busy. We had starters and mains, the wait time for food was reasonable. Overall, a really nice place to dine. Only minor complaint would be the lack of a drinks menu on the table.

Went for an evening meal, the food was fantastic and staff really friendly. The atmosphere was lovely and we’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu and just for some drinks in the nice bar area.

Only called in to see the menu and have a drink,the girl who served us wasn't very pleasant told us we couldn't sit where we wanted to if we weren't dining this time. But the prices of the drinks were over priced and the food was way overpriced for us, being Pesnsioners !!!!

Everything was fantastic. The only issue is the squeaky door on the condiments cupboard drove me mad.

Really disappointed with our visit here on 10th February. My father in law had booked a table for 10 on the 9th January and asked for us to be seated all together. On 10th Feb he receives a call to say they won't be able to sit us all together and tables would be apart. Fast forward to us arriving and the tables were nowhere near each other. Can't understand why they didn't cancel the booking if you can't accomdate for large bookings. The staff didn't want to even try to rectify the situation. And to top it off gave one of our tables away whilst we were still in the restaurant. It was almost like they didnt want our custom.Shocking service and based on this will not be returning there are far nicer restaurants with better service from staff. Ended up going for a curry Sat all together and had a great evening!

I had curry, it was nice. My friend had fish & chips. Large portion, but a little overdone. Like the place a lot the decor is attractive.

An absolute gem. Some of the best food I've eaten anywhere. All cooked fresh from scratch, and very well priced. A home from home atmosphere, with excellent service. I cannot recommend it enough.

We went for lunch on 06/01, food was fabulous, our server was absolutely lovely, it was just cold in there. Will definitely return though.

The food here is outstanding and the atmosphere is very homely and comfortable. I would recommend a visit but the only negative I would have is that some of the staff stand around and appear to be chatting, gossiping, which is not a great look for a business. The phone was ringing off the hook when we visited and nobody picked it up but had a few members of staff standing at the desk, which is clear why nobody picked up when we attempted to call the previous day to confirm our table numbers. Apart from this it is well worth a visit!

I didn't have the food here but the cocktails were great. Please note you can not get bar food on a Fri,sat or sunday. This is what I wanted but is unavailable on weekends due to the volume of people booking. I did ask for the Christmas menu so I could book but there wasn't one available. Told to look on Internet for menu changes. But fab service from the lady at the bar, her cocktail making skills excellent. Smells like Wood when you walk in, fire place is beautiful and atmosphe is very warming . Although Can get a little loud.

First visit and it won't be our last. The food was excellent and a great choice of beers.

The roast potatoes were hard. Everything else was fine.

Restaurant staff, brilliant, bar staff only 1 on at 6pm, stood waiting for ages despite being there before others, finally served, given dirty glasses. Following this, once in the restaurant, the night went very well

The food was good but not mind blowing. Pizza was a bit too crispy for my liking. The actual bar has a really nice decor though and is good for a relaxed drink.

We brought friends from out of the area, and really wanted to show them The Malt as we deem it to be a lovely venue with great food and service. It certainly didn’t disappoint.. food arrived minutes after ordering, the staff are always attentive. An excellent location, me and my wife have said many times, we must use it more, with it being in our doorstep!

Very tasty food, great selection of drinks at the bar and the interior is lovely. Highly recommend The Malt, I will be back for sure!
