Danny our wonderful server made the day, bloody brilliant lass who was first rate, thank you for making our lunch so much more than excellent food with your bright spirit and friendly way.

Special evening with the family , special treat with the steaks we would never eat at home

Waited 40 mins for our drinks and forgot our water. Staff just kept piling plates on the table not clearing up baring in mind we had young children with us with hot pans and knives this is dangerous. Ordered pasta with meat balls, server just plonked the food on the table without meat balls and looked like someone had just put water into the tomatoes pasta then the server gave us the meatball dish without explaining instead when we we’re talking she decides to walk off to towards the kitchen which was rude. I felt more stressed when I left. The manager offered us a free drink and kept apologising but i just didn’t feel valued. It’s not the first time we have had a bad experience. The man who served us last time was great and that’s the only reason we would go back other than that it’s poor.

Food was good but the table wasn't ready for the allocated time and we had the wait 15 mins for it to be ready. We had starters but then the main course took over an hour to arrive at the table. I wouldn't go back, although the food was very good, it was over priced and not a great overall experience. The place is noisy, the staff were brusque and the feel was of a fast food restaurant without the fast food.

I cannot leave a review for any of the above as the restaurant was shut on arrival. I booked a table for my wife and I for our anniversary. On arrival there was a sign on the door stating the restaurant was shut due to unforeseen circumstances. I appreciate that things go wrong at times, but there are so many ways to inform customers of short notice changes. When we got there there was a gentleman with his young daughter and friends for a birthday meal who were ok eaving, as you can expect he was very unhappy. In an age of modern communications this is totally unacceptable. Due to the lack of comms instead of paying £18 for taxis we ended paying £42. So disappointed As a reply to your reply, there was no phone call or voicemail. Do not lie to make the issue seem better

Nice place can only give 3 stars for service as drinks took too long to come out. Our meals came out before the drinks. Otherwise it was 'okay' not brilliant. Staff were pleasant and courteous I have to say. Food was decent.

Went on Saturday was greeted by the lovely friendly Olivia she always gives us a very warm welcome with her big smile.The food was excellent only disappointment was no Nachos on the menu.We were served by Kim who was again very professional & friendly this is the best miller & Carter we have been to always give 110%

There are 2 options for vegans, the plant based (meat mimicking type) burger was not cooked by someone who knew how to cook it, otherwise the preparation was very good. Te starter of cauliflower was very good and tasty. They had a children's menu which was a good size and not overwhelming for a child of 3.

Had a lovely afternoon lunch with family. Food was tasty and service from Kim was amazing. She was very attentive and friendly & she added a lovely birthday message on the desert plate for my mum which was a lovely touch. Will be back again.

Great service and food, next time would ask for table away from kitchen and bar, but otherwise lovely place.

Had a great, if rather expensive night recently, right from Lauren and Olivia (reception and who took us to our fab table) right through to Jodie who looked after us, brilliant, thank you. Like I say, was expensive, but we 'did get what we paid for tbf, thank you to all.

Kim was a fantastic server and made our experience very enjoyable.

Lunch was lovely. Service was brilliant from Marko. He went above and beyond to make our lunch experience relaxed and enjoyable. Just in passing I mentioned it was my son’s birthday, and when it came to dessert he made it extra special by adding “Happy Birthday” in chocolate on my son’s plate plus a lit candle. A nice final touch to our visit. Well done MC team 👍🏾

Laura was our server she was so lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly and professional. Food was amazing as always. Only thing when drinking a summer sling myself and my friend both had strawberries in the drink that had actually gone off.

My wife and I ate there was very unimpressed service good food mediocre at best but we thought we may be being over critical but my daughter took her son tonight as a treat she's eaten at 3 miller and carter's and reckons this is by far the worst one very disappointed considering the cost 👎👎👎

We really enjoyed our meal , everything was piping hot and fresh , the man that looked after us at our table I’m sure his name was Marko, he was very pleasant and made sure everything was ok he has brilliant customer service

50 day aged Black Angus sirloin was one of the best steaks I've ever had, had it with the pepper corn sauce, also had the beef mac and cheese wich was one of the best bqq mac and cheeses I've ever had. Service was fantastic, lady named Danny was our sever, who was very nice and very smiley. Highly recommend coming here.

Service was good the food was not to a high standard in my view. The 20oz T-bone steak I had I believe was very much under weight (I’ve had bigger 16oz from my butchers) the fries were cold and not fresh and the sauce had a skin over the top and again was not warm

What a lovely evening we had! Bridie, was fantastic! Her customer service is second to none and she always makes you feel welcome. We ordered cheesy garlic bread to share for our starter and then we had the incredible butchers block for main. I highly recommend this as it’s fantastic value and gives you more meat. Bridie went the extra mile and brought out a birthday pudding too! We can’t wait for our next visit.

A great lunch, food was spot on. Freshly made, we had a 3 course lunch set menu which was great value for what you are getting. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. A couple of cheeky cocktails which were lovely. First time coming and won't be the last.

Rhiannnon served us. She couldn't have done more for us, she was polite and attentive.

Danny was our waitress and she was really friendly and down to earth. Slight mark down just because we were seated in the middle of the area but nothing that took away from the overall experience. Penn has always been our favourite Miller and Carter. The staff and atmosphere always feel a level up to other Miller and Carter restaurants we have visited.

In my experience is you need to be one of the rich or famous to dine here because the prices for the food and drinks are astronomical. Apart from that ,the food and the service were good.

From the moment we sat down, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism by Marko, whose exceptional front of house skills set the tone for the entire dining experience. The ambiance was cosy yet elegant, perfect for a memorable evening. The service was impeccable throughout the evening, with Marko and the rest of the staff ensuring that every need was met promptly and courteously. We can't wait to return for another delightful dining experience!

Delicious and well made steak as well as sides, fast and attentive service. We were a quite large group (6 people), had a fantastic time celebrating a birthday.

We ate at Penn Miller and Carter for a 16th birthday and we were served by Kim who was superb. Such a lovely experience and she really helped us feel comfortable. Gave a lovely birthday surprise for the birthday girl as well on her Dessert. Food was beautiful. 10/10!!

I had the lunch time menu with family and friends, ordered just before 5pm, service was immaculate, the price was insane and the food was incredible. £20 for 3 courses and a hot drink made fresh including calamari, steak and cream brule! Highly recommend it!

The rest of the food, maintained the same level of excellence, with each dish showcasing the kitchen’s commitment to quality and flavor. The service was a standout aspect of our meal. Our waitress, whom we believe was named Demi, was the epitome of attentiveness and charm. She ensured that our dining experience was personal and memorable, attending to our needs with a smile and making us feel genuinely cared for. Her professionalism and warmth added a special touch to our visit, making it all the more enjoyable. However, there were a couple of minor issues that caught our attention. The table we were seated at was slightly wonky, which, while not a deal-breaker, was a small distraction from the otherwise flawless setting. Additionally, the restaurant was quite empty due to our mid-afternoon arrival, which we appreciated for the quiet atmosphere it provided. One practice that did seem a bit inconvenient was the seating arrangement. Despite the ample space available, other diners were seated directly next to us. We understand this is common in many restaurants to facilitate service efficiency, but it can sometimes detract from a sense of privacy and exclusivity. In conclusion, Miller & Carter Penn continues to uphold its reputation for delivering an exceptional dining experience. The minor inconveniences we encountered do not overshadow the superb quality of the food and the outstanding service provided by the staff, especially Demi. We left with our appetites fully satisfied and the intention to return, hopeful for another round of delightful culinary creations and welcoming service.
