Superb 1st visit this lunchtime. There were a few items not available on the menu but Michelle, our waitress, was so helpful advising us of alternatives. Her steak knowledge was excellent. I tried a ribeye for the 1st time & I am definitely converted! We have already rebooked for next month

Great meal, cocktail was perfect and food was delicious. Onion loaf was the best I've ever had at Miller and Carter, nice and crispy! Julie was a great server. Couldn't fault the experience.

Everything right off usual high standard. Service was slow and unattentive, food was luke warm and steaks not same high quality. Very surprised and very disappointed.

We have been to miller and Carter many times in the evening. I recommend going to a lunch time service. The atmosphere was relaxed. It wasn’t rushed, and the food was beautiful. Service was amazing, and the staff was polite, and there was even a few laughs exchanged. Overall, we had an amazing experience. And it was to celebrate Mother’s Day early.

Thomas looked after us tonight and have to say he was amazing. Very knowledgeable and so so friendly. The place was really busy but all the staff coped so well. Our waitress Laura made our evening fabulous, nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was lovely too, lots of choices. We hadn’t been to our local M & C at Penn for for quite a few years but decided to go there for our 20th anniversary and we weren’t disappointed. Again I would like to say a huge thank you to Laura at M&C Penn, if only all establishments had multiple Laura’s.

We went to this Miller & Carter for a meal for our wedding anniversary. It had been years since the last time we had used this particular restaurant. First off, the food was ok, my steak was very tender but it was not very warm when it arrived at the table, which was a little bit disappointing. My wife said exactly the same thing about her Hunters Chicken. One thing I will say is that we ordered two Pinacoladas and they were absolutely vile. Secondly, the service. I can't fault our waitress (her name was Laura) she was very attentive but not intrusive. 10 out of 10 for service. Thirdly, atmosphere. The restaurant itself is a nice place.

If I could give Laura ONE MILLION STARS I would, she’s amazing! So attentive and friendly, made the experience a 14/10.

I visited Miller and Carter today with my partner and 11 month old baby and I was served by Laura who gave expectational customer service who went above and beyond to make sure we was ok and even made my little one feel at ease and made effort. She’s a credit to the team and you are very lucky to have her !

Absolutely terrible. Looking at the previous complaints on the reviews it doesn’t look like this branch has taken any notice of the feedback. We booked a table for 6.30pm, we arrived 6.20, we were shown to our table. We waited half an hour and still no one came to take our drinks orders. We had to ask a waitress from an adjoining section if she wouldn’t mind taking our order. The restaurant was busy so we decided to order the drinks starters and mains together to try to avoid delays and give the staff plenty of time to prepare the order. 45 mins after being seated we eventually received the the drinks. After another lengthy wait the starters came out. Half hour after the starters were cleared we had to enquire as to where the mains were. The waitress went to ask and came back and said 10 mins. We waited a further 20 mins and still nothing. We were very hungry and decided to go elsewhere for food after having wasted so much time here. It’s clear that this branch simply cannot cope with the capacity on a busy evening. We often go to resorts world and the staff there are always on point and it everything runs very smoothly despite it often being very busy. Save yourself the hassle and don’t go here Fri or Saturday, it’s simply not worth the wait. Also , the enforcement of the “smart casual” rule was just non existent with diners wearing hoodies and tracksuits! Standards just seem very lax here and not what is the usual standard of Miller & Carter elsewhere in the country. Give this one a miss.

Had a 1pm booking for 7. Server very attentive and took our order accurately. We had 3 course set menu. Then it all went downhill. Starters arrived 3/4hr later, no sign of mains. We left the restaurant at 3.25pm hungry , frustrated and annoyed. No payment was expected. Hint for M & C manager- many eateries would have apologised and offered a bottle of wine on the house as recompense.

We had Laura serve us and she was an absolute pleasure! Paid attention to details to make us feel special and was so pleasant. Took note of our name and used throughout the meal which was a nice touch and doesn’t get done often ! 10/10 for the meal and 10/10 for Laura xx

Overrated and food took an eternity to be served. The restaurant was only at half capcity at the time of visit and the chefs could not cope with that. God help you if it's full when you visit. Take a book.

My husband and I have visited this restaurant many times, but today I was a little disappointed. Being OAP's In our late 70's. we could only afford the fixed menu , which normally has a larger variety of food to choose from, so was surprised to see fewer choices. On our table was a leaflet for mother's day, so I asked how much the menu was, but no one knew. Think you should have held the leaflet back until the price was given to the staff

We went to miller and carter penn today and was served by Laura. We had a lovely meal. Laura was very professional and lovely with my children.

Brilliant service and food as always , fantastic service from our server Laura.

It has to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We had come out for mine and my sisters birthday and had to wait 1 and a half hours before even sides came out. Meanwhile the drinks took forever we ordered drinks when food arrived and everyone had finished eating way before the drinks arrived. Would not recommend coming here again as it was embarrassing

My wife and I visited the miller and carter steakhouse on the penn rd recently When we arrived out table wasn't quite ready so we got drinks from the bar and waited in the lounge It was only about ten minutes before we were shown to our table,we had booked a table for two but were given a table for four which I was very pleased with Our waitress,Laura took our order and advised that the wait would be 20 to 30 minutes,25 minutes later the meal arrived,I had fillet mignon and my wife had fish,both meals were excellent Our waitress Laura was very efficient,friendly and courteous and made us feel very comfortable,I will definitely be booking again in the near future...

The steak melted in my Mouth as always and cooked, rare, to perfection! Service efficient and friendly! Good choice on the menu! Ash was our waitress and it was only her second shift. The place was very busy, yet Ash served us in good time. She was friendly, chatty, professional and just lovely.

Ordered our drinks didn’t have to wait long for these We then ordered our starters and main. Our starter of chicken took 40 mins to arrive, by this time we had drank nearly all our drinks. After eating starter waited another 20 mins to be cleared away. 45mins later main arrived husbands steak barley warm , my fish cold very overcooked and veg cold. The waitress came to ask if all was ok and was told the fish was cold and dry and the veg cold. She said I can go and warm it up for you !!! in which to my horror I replied no thank you . I was offered something else but waiting so long for the main I just said no and can they take the meal off the bill. The manager then appeared apologised for the fish and he would speak to the chef and he would take it off the bill. We have dined here on lots of occasions but the customer service has gone done so won’t be going again.
