Miller & Carter Penn Cottage in South Staffordshire

Our waitress Laura was great she was so attentive and really lovely right the way through. Nothing was ever to much and she was so friendly we came on the 7th for a birthday meal and the 6 of us really enjoyed it. My mom who’s in a wheelchair felt so welcomed and even with her small appetite really enjoyed her meal. The food was amazing and we all left extremely full. Thankyou

Always enjoyed coming to miller and Carter previously. Booked in at 7.30. Seated 50 minutes after booking, then the food came out a further 50 minutes after this, for one main course and one kids meal. I had my 6 year old son with me, so we had to take his dessert to go because he was so tired. 2 hours 10 minutes dining from time of booking just to have one course. I did mention this to the server but not even as much as a drink on the house for the inconvenience. Lots of tables around me also complaining about their wait times.

We visited to celebrate our son passing his driving test. We had starters, mains and dessert and they were all superb. Our waitress, Hollie, was very attentive, helpful and made the evening more memorable by adding congratulations and a picture of a car in chocolate to our son's dessert. Thanks to all the staff for making it a great evening out.

I normally eat at Miller and Carter Penn, with my husband. We are there 2 or 3 times a week and are known to be easy going agreeable and pleasant clients. On Monday evening because he had work related commitments I dined as a single diner. There was a significant difference in attitude towards me. I was seated in a noisy inappropriate and unnecessary section although there was plenty of space on the side they normally seat us. I did politely ask about this, but did not receive a reply. The service was minimal, compared to usual, and I do feel that it may be helpful to build into the otherwise healthy training I know M&C staff are given, that single diners especially unaccompanied females, do also need to feel welcomed and respected, because I most certainly wasn’t. On all other occasions I have left feeling satisfied with the quality and service, but on Monday evening I was left shocked by the difference.

Welcoming personages from the moment we stepped in until we finished our meal and left. Our server was ( I think ) Debbie. Extremely pleasant and helpful lady. Food obviously cooked as you ordered it. Steak was cooked exactly how we had requested it and was delicious , no gristle or tough chewy piece’s , obviously quality steaks. Lunchtime menu at £16.99 includes desert (which we had trouble finishing as we were full ) .If you haven’t been or it has been a while , give it a go it is well worth it .

Had an absolutely brilliant experience there. We booked the table for half 7 however didn't get seated till quarter past 8 due to how busy it was and I was fine with that. Our waitress Laura was fantastic so polite and helpful and couldn't do enough to tend to our needs. The food was perfect. Definitely going to return

Tables to close, you can hear everything they say on the next 2 Tables. Not enough staff long waiting for food and drink, overpriced, not much variety on the menu, Won't be going there again

Dining here on Friday for our wedding anniversary cannot fault the food or service but the CLIENTELES's language male and female discussing. I wouldn't hear this in a back street pub. On the carpark, a group of boys and girls smoking weed dare say you should have this on CCT. Would not be taking any family here.

We visit Miller & Carter every Thursday around 7pm.. tonight however was different and we had the pleasure of Laura attending to our table. Laura was very up beat & cheery which really made a difference to our experience. We thoroughly enjoyed her banter and lovely self. Next time we visit.. we will definitely hope to see Laura again! Credit to Miller and Carter (Penn Road).

Ridiculously long wait time for taking orders and serving food. In total it took 4 hours for lunch. The squid and shrimp dishes were poor as too were some of the steaks. We did get the meal discounted due to the problems but still an overall poor experience.

We ordered the sharing board presentation was great and the girl who served us was friendly and welcoming. We booked for half 7 arrived early waited until 7.45 to be seated. Ordered shortly after seating as we knew what we wanted food arrived luke warm at best, dipping gravy was practically straight out of the fridge we ordered more and took this back to as for it to be warmed up. All in all for the money we were not impressed

Starters we very good and so were the steaks but the burgers were very very disappointing ☹️ Laura who served us was excellent so friendly, helpful and efficient thank you 😊😊

Hannah was very accommodating with our seating preference and made sure we got comfortable seating for our dining! Our server, Thomas, was extremely helpful with suggestions and polite, made great conversation and regularly check on us throughout our meal All the food was delicious, cannot fault a single item! Great experience and will definitely be back

From the first moment we was seated by our waiter Danny our night was amazing. We have had Danny serve us a few times but never left a review before when we have been to Millers and Carter at PENN. Danny goes above and beyond for you, her manners and her style of serving is exquisite, and very polite. Danny made our experience very relaxing and enjoyable, she is a massive Credit to Millers.

It was very busy..and had to wait a hour for meal..but its understandable..our steaks were super. Cooked to our liking the staff were very friendly and polite definitely recommend to our friends and family.

Everything good but place was cold which made the food go cold quickly

Our server was very pleasant but we waited over an hour for our meal, even though the restaurant was far from full . Two of us were so hungry that we ate the cob salad, without waiting for our steaks. My husbands dirty burger wasn't good. The burger was burnt as was the meat? on top, we weren't sure what it was meant to be. The bun underneath was soggy. The steaks we felt were overpriced. Two lots of chips were luke warm. All in all an overpriced mediocre meal. Don't think we'll be going again

Luanne was our server this evening and was absolutely faultless, friendly, attentive, polite and excellent with our young son . Made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal and despite being incredibly busy we never had to worry about waiting for anything, it was first class service, Thank you so much Luanne for making our sons birthday meal a memorable one for all the right reasons.

The steak sides were a dussapointment. £10 for scallop side, you got 2 and a half small scallops, very dissapointed.

Went for Wedding Anniversary meal, food was amazing can't fault it, service from our waitress was brilliant couldn't do enough for us. Only issue was stood there waiting for over 10 minutes to be seated although at 5 staff saw us and ignored us. No rush.

Amazing food and service! Steak cooked to perfection, bursting with flavour and cooked exactly how I asked for it. I upgraded to chunky chips instead of fries and they were lovely and fluffy. All the food was hot when it arrived and all delicious! Most importantly the night wouldn’t have been the same without our excellent table service from our waitress Jodie, who was very attentive, friendly and helpful and made our evening meal that much better! Definitely recommend this place. You’re guaranteed to have a wonderful time. Will look forward to our next visit!
