Very little soup to start for the price we paid. Beetroot and goats cheese tart was obviously bought in and there was more rocket than tart. Chicken supreme with spinach and wild mushroom was very dry and not much sauce or mushroom. Tiny apple crumble for the price. I asked for a coffee liqueur which the waitress didn’t know what I was talking about not her fault she had not been trained. It came in a cup with the coffee taken out of a machine which was tasteless, couldn’t taste the liqueur and was drowned with cream. Disappointing experience for the prices they are asking for.

We visited the Maidenhead more or less by accident. We were staying at nearby Ludlow, and were out on our bikes, and the seat had become loose. We stopped for a drink and the landlord and his staff couldn't have been more helpful, taking time to find us a Hex key of the right size to tighten up the seat. We felt a bit guilty having only expended £3.70, on a half of beer and a lime and soda, so returned next evening with our non cycling friends for our evening meal. We found the service a bit stretched, it appeared that there was a party of schoolchildren and parents. The food was of a very good standard, with a decent choice, but to say exceptional might just be slightly overstating. The Maidenhead has plentiful parking, and a nice beer garden. We would certainly return. The overall impression is of the staff trying hard to please. Lastly, and importantly for the writer, the real ales were well kept.

Standard pub grub which was tasty. Nice seating area outside with pretty hanging baskets. Separate lawn area at back. Quite a lot of parking.

Miserable woman showed us to table. No conversation whatsoever. I assume she was the Landlady, needs some schooling in sociability. Really let the place down, because lunch was very good. What a great shame.

Probably the worst Sunday lunch I've ever had Young lovely staff but unfortunately no idea A landlord whom would rather get drink and watch football than be concerned about people that are eating in the restaurant . Dirty knives and Forks , cold food etc etc We have been before and met the chef , lovely experience , This time was probably the worst .

Superb pub . Friendly staff and good choice of beer . Lovely wood burner and pub was warm on a cold day . We were staying at NT Croft Castle and the pub was a short distance from there . Great sitting out area and garden for warmer days . Would highly recommend .

I haven't visited this venue in many years, but will certainly be happy to return again soon. The meal I chose was really delicious and everyone in our group cleared our plates! The staff were friendly and service good. Thank you!

The worst Sunday lunch I’ve had in a long time. 2 meagre slices of dry pork, floppy crackling with no crackle at all, roast potatoes like bullets, tasteless veg and insipid gravy. Followed by apple crumble that was 90% crumble. No way I’ll be returning after that extremely disappointing experience. Staff were nice, hence the generous 2 stars.

Second time eaten here yesterday and again standard of food was not expectable. We stay simple and we both had Gammon ,first peace swimming in fat and not cooked. Also I said no Fried egg and swimming in fat it was disgusting, I tried to soak it up with my napkin. The pineapple was on the turn and tasted off. My husband gammon was mostly fat. They changed my gammon and chef must of beat it to deaf, was as flat as a pancake and dry as a bone and extremely tuff. We Could not enjoy are food and extremely very disappointed ,after giving them a 2 chance now this is my last time I will go there. I am sick to the back teeth the standards of cooks since Covid. It’s like they are not qualified and restaurants are trying to get cheap chefs , And don’t care of standards or quality of there reputation.such a shame we are local and will not be recommending.

We tried this establishment for lunch and found it to be welcoming if a bit ordinary. The fish and chips was of large proportions and well cooked and at reasonable price considering some of the local competition. The bitter was brewed locally and was very good. If we were in the area again we would certainly consider having another meal here.

We stayed here overnight and booked the restaurant for our evening meal. Lovely staff, in a lovely surrounding. It’s a shame it was dark so we couldn’t see the views. Nice selection of starters, mains and desserts and we managed to enjoy all three. In the morning, the breakfast menu was plentiful and the sausage and bacon from a local butcher were very tasty.
